Chapter Text
Grundel was so hard to shop for. Louis sighed as he walked up and down the isles of his local target, wondering what in the world the spectre might like. he doesn't watch many movies, doesn't like wearing different clothes, doesn't want children's toys… but he does own one! Grundel's teddy bear! He'd kept it since he was a human child himself, and Louis knew it was his prized possession. Louis knew he couldn't find a bear to replace it, so what could he come up with?
He walked through the target to the connected mall, and passed a Build-A-Bear Workshop, glancing inside the storefront at all the little toy clothes. Perfect.
Louis entered the store, and found some items that would be perfect. Since it was nearing Christmas, the store had all its old Halloween themed items on clearance. Louis grabbed a pumpkin hat, a frog-themed raincoat, some fish/pond rainboots, a little sweater with some ghosts on it. He also decided to get some normal everyday clothes for good measure, getting some sneakers, a little black hoodie with a small embroidered heart on the chest, and some fake jeans.
This was a lot more fun than Louis had expected! All the cute little clothes made for dolls and stuffed animals, this must be what expecting mothers feel like in the baby clothes isles in stores. Louis remembers going shopping with Dana when she was pregnant with little baby Oscar. Louis hadn't understood all her cooing and awing over the tiny toddler outfits and onsies. Now he did.
As he walked through the target on the way back to the parking lot after buying the items, he also bought some yarn, and some black fabric. He had crochet hooks at home, and could borrow Dana's sewing machine. He just hoped Grundel would like all the gifts.
