Wrong window

Summary:

Han jisung was finally going to do it. He was going to sneak though Hwang hyunjins window and ask him out on a date, (if he would let him in of course).

Well that was the plan. Until he came stumbling in through the wrong window, landing in the room of hyunjins brother instead, Lee Minho.

And he doesn’t really feel like leaving.

Notes:

Hi guys!!! I never really write multi chapter fanfics but I really liked this au and my mind has been taken over by Minsung lately, I have ADHD so my thoughts are all over the place so if this sucks I’m super sorry! Pls feel free to leave advice in the comments and let me know if I should continue. Decided to keep the start chapter shorter in case it sucks. Lol.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Jisung absolutely knew it was cliche. The whole going up to someone’s house and climbing up to their window, asking to be let in. But Changbin mentioned it was something Hyunjin would like as a romantic movie fanatic , so he figured he’d put all his embarrassment aside and give it a go.

Changbin was Jisungs bestfriend, and the reason he met hyunjin. They played on the same soccer team at his college, and changbin immediately introduced the two, insiting his childhood bestfriend and “modern” day bestfriend had to meet. Whatever that meant.

Jisung wasn’t mad though, he thought hyunjin was beautiful, his medium length hair a striking black colour and his beautiful eyes standing out against his sharp jawline. He was nice too, every time they’d spoken, about seven times now, he was incredibly sweet and attentive, and jisung liked him pretty much straight away. And after a little pushing from changbin, he knew he’d have to ask him out.

So that’s how he found himself walking the streets at eleven pm on a Sunday night, chilly in just a hoodie from the cold air. He tried his very best to seem presentable but also not trying to hard, landing on a plain black hoodie and some grey baggy jeans. Jisung thought he was an attractive guy, I mean yeah he wasnt the tallest but he had a killer smile and, if he did say so himself a pretty solid pack of abs to go with his black fluffy hair. That didn’t do to much for his confidence though, he never really was good with boys, staying single most of his life. By choice of course.

The streets were empty as he walked down them, leaving him completely with his own thoughts, never a good sign really. It made sense, due to the time and day, but it still seemed a little eerie. He did find it kind of peaceful though, the only noise being his phone as he recieved a text alert from Seungmin, wishing him good luck with an eggplant emoji. Real classy.

Seungmin was jisungs other friend, and also Changbins boyfriend, he warned him it might come across as a little creepy, so that was freaking him out, but Changbin insisted that he heard hyunjin talk about stuff like this all the time, so screw what seungmin thinks. He reminded himself of that last statement as he saw the house in the distance, managing to get the address from Changbin. He approached the house with cautious steps, seeing the lights off on the bottom floor.

Jisung started to question it, he didn’t want to end up in prison for what looked like an attempted break in, and considering all the lights seemed to be off, it was almost like nobody was home. He sighed, about to turn away, before seeing a figure move upstairs, realising that there was one bedroom light still on. It looked like it was hyunjins room, he could make out what seemed to be posters on the wall and that didn’t really seem like a parent thing to have right?

If only hyunjin lived in the dorms, then he wouldn’t have to worry about stupid stuff like that. He saw the figure again, moving past the window before dissapearing again.

“come on jisung, do it before you psyche yourself out”, He thought to himself.

He looked around for something to climb to get up there, opting to stand on top of the bin outside the house, latching onto a (thankfully clean) pipe and managing to push his body up onto a thin ledge outside the window. Clearly the gym work was paying off.

He was about to knock, he swears it, but clearly the window wasn’t locked properly, because as he raised his hand to rap on the window, he stumbled, putting his hands out infront of him to protect himself, causing the window to be pushed open and jisung to go right through it, landing on a soft carpet.

He heard a distant ”what the fuck!” And wished he could just pass away right there. He foresaw what his gravestone would read. Here lies Han Jisung, passed away by falling through his crushes bedroom window and looking like an insane person, and making a complete and utter fool of himself.

nice going man. He said to himself.

”Dude who the fuck are you and what the hell are you doing in my room”

Jisungs ears perked up, not recognising the harsh tone that came from the voice. It sounded nothing like the intended person he came to see. He slowly turned his head, still lying on the ground, praying that his mind was playing tricks and it would infact be Hyunjin standing there.

When he was fully turned, he was met with a startled figure on the bed, clutching a book close to his chest and retreating to the very corner of the bed, clearly scared of Jisung. Valid.

He pushed his small framed glasses further onto his face before shouting again.

”Dude seriously answer my question, I’ll call the fucking police man seriously who the fuck are you and what do you want”

Jisung shook out his momentary surpise, springing into action and jumping onto his feet, shaking his head and throwing his arms about wildly.

“no no no no, no police I’m so sorry I thought this was my friends house-“

”Oh really friends house? You show up through my goddamn window with your hood up and expect me to believe that your not some theif?”

And Jisung couldn’t even argue with that. He knew how it looked and would probably react the same way in his shoes. He pulled down his hood instantly and stepped back, not wanting to scare him even more.

”No man seriously I swear- I’m Han Jisung! I go to that college on bearnstreet I was looking for my friend Hyunjin I swear to you!” He pleaded, reaching into his pocket for his phone, ready to prove who he was. “If I was a theif would I tell you all that?”

The figure on the bed slumped his shoulders, giving Jisung a one over look before throwing his head back and sighing in what Jisung hoped was relief and not frustration.

”God you idiot- you scared the shit out of me. Hyunjins my brother! Wrong window man!”

“brother?-“ Jisung asked dumbly. He never knew Hyunjin had a brother, Changbin never told him. And oh how bad would that look now!

“Oh hey Hyunjin, just wondering if you wanna go on a date with me, and yes I accidently threw myself into your brothers window and almost killed him via heart attack! Whoopsie!”

”Yeah dipshit- you know when two people share a mutual parent- share blood and all, a brother?”

Jisung wasn’t surprised by the attitude, I mean he did just fall through his window. He stood there wide eyed from shock taking a proper look at the, now very annoyed, man infront of him.

He looked absolutely nothing like Hyunjin in Jisungs opinion. He was shorter, and his hair was black, with blue streaks all through it. His glasses brought out his brown doe eyes, even though his hair was covering them slightly. And he had full lips, and high cheekbones. The only similarly to Hyunjin really being the sharp facial features. And if Jisung noticed the way his muscles seemed to flex against his tight shirt, well, nobody had to know.

Hes stupid hot- and pretty- and cute. Can you be all those things at once-? Jisung thought dumbly to himself, before being snapped back to reality by the feeling of a book being thrown directly at his head, dodging just in time.

”You’re just going to come into my room at what? Midnight, and just fucking stare at me? Your giving me the creeps dude”

“I’m sorry I just- I didn’t know Hyunjin had a brother he never mentioned it-“

”We go to the same college”

“oh right.”

Jisung nodded, feeling awkward and looking around the room, not really sure if he should leave or ask to see Hyunjin.

The man on the bed got up, walking towards Jisung, clearly a lot less intimated now.

”Hyunjins not home by the way, so all of this” he gestured to Jisung vagually, “was for nothing, he’s on a date”

A date.

“Oh-“ is all Jisung could manage, looking down at his shoes.

”Did you uh like- hurt yourself or something when falling” the other boy asked, trying to pick up eye contact with Jisung, lifting his face up with his finger so they were looking at each other.

”Oh um-“ Jisung started, feeling a blush run up his neck, definitely showing on his face.

”You say oh quite a bit don’t you”

“Oh sorry-“ Jisung sighed, cursing himself for saying it again. But the boy just smiled. A beautiful lopsided grin, all toothy, that made Jisung clear his throat.

“I’m Minho by the way” the boy, apparently named Minho, said, falling back to sit on the edge of his bed. And now that he said his name. Jisung can remember Changbin and Seungmin mentioning him, he was even sure he recognised the name from somewhere else to…

”I’m Jisung” he replied, playing with his hands nervously, looking back at the open window.

”You already told me that”

”Yes- that’s right I did-“

Minho giggled, tilting his head to the side, making eye contact with Jisung again. Geez this guy is intense.

He pushed his hair back from his forehead, fixing his hoodie and extending his hand for a handshake, which Minho takes carefully and greets him.

“Well uhm- sorry about your window, you should probably lock that at night by the way, I’m going to go…” he heads towards the window again.

”Are you the Jisung that likes my brother?”

Jisungs eyes widened, he whips his head back to Minho so fast he swore his head spun all the way around.

Minho giggled again.

“I think Hyunjin mentioned you before, thinks your a real nice guy” Jisung blushes, “but he’s in a weird situationship right now so- don’t get your hopes up”

Jisung tried to stay confident when he answers, “well- how do you know I liked him”

“I didn’t- but you just told me now” he laughed. And Jisung was surprised to think that he loved the sound of Minhos giggles and laugh.

“Right well- I’m not a homewrecker so I should probably- stop liking him”. He was going to kill Changbin, seriously he was going to wrap his hands around his throat and choke the bastard out when he saw him. How did he not know his friend was dating someone.

“That would be ideal” Minho said pointedly.

He nodded again, seriously annoyed at how stupid he was making himself look, and stood there unsure of what to say now.

”Are you planning on leaving or are you just going to stand there looking pretty”

Jisung huffed, embarrassed at himself.

“I’m leaving, again I am so sorry about all this, I hope you enjoy the rest of your night” he kept his response short and sweet, not planning on looking even more stupid, heading towards the window.

He had one foot on the ledge before Minho called to him again.

”Jisung”

He turned back to him, his quiet but stern way of saying his name drawing him in.

“Yeah?”

”You can use the front door you know?” He smiled at him, more of a teasing smile than a genuine friendly one.

”Oh right- thank you”, he said, climbing back inside and heading towards the door instead.

”See you around creep” Jisung cringed at the nickname, nodding at him before opening the door and practically sprinting out of the house through the door downstairs (not before fumbling with the locks like an idiot though).

He walked as fast as he could back to his dorm, embarrassed and defeated about Hyunjin, just wanting this stupid night to be over.

That five minute interaction might go down in Jisungs long list of embarrasing moments, as the worst thing to have ever of happened to him. Seriously what did he do to deserve this.

He sighed when he entered his dorm room, locking the door and leaning against it, head thrown back in despair. Yes despair, he didn’t even care if it sounded dramatic.

“Woah- what the hell happened to you. You look like you’ve seen a ghost man”

Jisung opened his eyes, looking at his roommate, bangchan, before shaking his head. Bangchan, or channie, as his friends call him, was sat at the desk near the window, black hair falling infront of his face, his black tank showing his muscular body and tired eyes staring back at Jisung, ignoring the open laptop infront of him.

”Where is Changbin?” Changbin also lived with him and channie, but he wasn’t in his bed or the kitchen from what Jisung could see.

Chan shook his head when he noticed Jisung looking towards the kitchen.

”He’s staying at Seungmins dude, why is everything okay” Jisung was touched by the genuine concern in his voice. He was to sweet.

He pushed himself off the door, waving his hand in dismissal.

”I will tell you tomorrow- I need to sleep of the literal worst night of my entire existence”

Chan nodded, turning back to his laptop, ever used to the melodramatic attitude Jisung wore.

He headed to the bathroom, stripping down and replacing his outfit with a pair of joggers for bed, completing his night routine to help calm him down. Once all that was complete he headed back into the sleeping (and living) space of the small dorm, climbing into bed.

Chan also was in his bed now, clearly opting to sleep in the time Jisung took in the bathroom.

He sighed before pulling the covers over himself, hoping to hide the blush that creeped up his body from the embarrassment , in case chan was still awake.

He couldn’t believe that Hyunjin had a boyfriend- well situationship- the entire time, and he kicked himself for not realising it.

He also couldn’t seem to get Minhos giggles at his unfortunate situation out of his head. He wondered if he was telling everyone about this, and prayed that this wouldn’t get around the college or campus.

He sighed again, taking out his phone, knowing he wouldn’t sleep tonight. He was genuinely surprised that Hyunjin had a brother, opting to stalk Hyunjins Instagram to see if he had missed it. Yes stalk. Sue him. He was curious.

He opened his page, scrolling through the photos before coming to stop at one. It was a picture of Hyunjin and Minho, smiling at the camera at what seemed like a park. He kept scrolling and soon saw there were a lot more, so it really was just Jisung being oblivious the entire time. Still Changbin could have warned him.

He hovered over the tags icon on another photo of them together, this time at a theme park, before clicking it and being led to Minhos profile.

He was grateful it was public. He went through his main page, opting to avoid the stories, and saw that Minho did infact go to their college. Great. And studied dance. The muscles made sense now, and seemed to enjoy music a lot to, if the concert pictures and videos were anything to go by.

He turned his phone off, throwing it onto the end of the bed, realising he should probably try and get some sleep.

The last thing he thought about before nodding off, was Minhos teasing smile.

God he’d never live this down.
