The night breeze is best enjoyed on the rooftop of Hotel Z. There are no buildings to get in the way, no Pokemon that see Harmony as a threat, and no wandering trainers to interrupt the moment of peace. It's here that she can enjoy the view of the night sky along with the Prism Tower.
The tower is no longer what it used to be. The sleek metal is taken over by nature, the top of the tower still parted from the chaos that ensued when Ange took control. The shining symbol of Lumiose transformed into something else. It's not her place to worry about the change that took place, because to her, it's a sign of peace for the city.
Harmony settles into one of the chairs facing the tower. Her Meganium settles down beside her, the grass-type Pokemon settling her head upon her lap. A hand gently pats the creature's head. Meganium lets out a soft sigh as she closes her eyes, content with the tranquility offered on the rooftop.
It's rare to find her taking a break. Ever since she arrived, she felt like she was always on the move. Now that everything is settled, only the Infinite Royale remains to take up her time. As much as she enjoys it, sometimes a break is needed.
Especially when planning a rendezvous.
The stillness of the night is interrupted as the door to the rooftop creaks open to reveal a familiar face.
"Urbain!" Harmony calls out his name, her Meganium lifting her head slightly when seeing her old trainer appear. She even lets out a happy cry, too.
"Sorry if I'm late," he starts as he puts on that apologetic smile. "I meant to be here sooner, but..."
"Busy with your new role?"
His smile falters for a moment.
"Yeah...it's a lot. I'm thankful that I have help, but taking over isn't as easy as it looks," Urbain sighs as he settles into the seat beside Harmony. "In the long run, it'll be worth it, though. As long as I can help people, that makes all the trouble worthwhile."
Harmony smiles at him when she sees the determination in his eyes. It's a spark she never grows tired of seeing. It had been there since the day they met. And she hopes it will continue to stay with him.
"If you ever need help, you know you can call on Team MZ, right?"
"Yeah, I know. I just don't want to bother you guys too much with something like...I dunno paperwork."
"You sure you don't want help with that?" Harmony gives him a knowing look.
"You know," Urbain clears his throat, trying to avoid bringing up that topic. He puts his hands behind his head, leaning back on the chair, and looking at the Prism Tower. "I'm glad we met."
The shift in topic causes Harmony to give him her full attention. Even Meganium is quietly looking at him with a curious look in her eyes.
"If it weren't for you, well...I don't know what would have happened to Lumiose City. It's kinda hard to imagine Team MZ without you, ya know? You fit right in and helped out so much. Tackling all the Rogue Mega Pokemon would be a pain to deal with just us. You really are a savior to the city." A pause. "I'm glad you took your vacation at the best time. Or worse, technically..."
"It wasn't that bad."
Maybe from another perspective, it was. Being dragged into this mess wasn't part of the plan. Her vacation was supposed to be a getaway from the world and to enjoy a thriving and lively city in Kalos. Her home region didn't have a city as big as this one; the closest she can think of would be Goldenrod. Even then, it felt small in comparison to Lumiose.
"It does make for a fun vacation story," she adds as she lifts her head to look at the tower, too. Her hand had come to a stop over Meganium's head.
"Urbain," Harmony says his name in a quiet voice. She pats Meganium to let her know that she's getting to her feet. "There's a reason I asked if we could meet tonight."
Harmony takes in a breath as she stands before him with Meganium at her side. The Pokemon nudges her arm with her head in silent support. She doesn't know why she feels nervous all of a sudden. This isn't a life-threatening situation. Compared to fighting a Rogue Mega Pokemon, this should be a piece of cake. Yet, she can't help but worry about what he may think.
"Yeah? What is it?" Urbain moves his hands to rest on his legs, leaning forward as he gives her all of his attention.
"Well..." Harmony takes in a breath. "I know coming to Kalos is supposed to be a vacation for me. I wanted a breath of fresh air and to see a new region. Honestly? I never thought I'd be doing anything like this when coming to Lumiose."
Her gaze drifts to Urbain. The boy is still watching her, not interrupting despite seemingly wanting to. She can't keep him waiting.
"But you know, being here...even though I'm not a local, I've come to love this city. And the people here, too. So...I've decided to stay. I want to help run this hotel for AZ. And...I want it to be a place that you can always return to because we'll all be here waiting for you."
Urbain stares at her, his eyes going wide upon hearing her decision. For a moment, he assumed that she was going to say her vacation was done, that it was over. It was inevitable, a part of him knew that deep down she'd have to leave eventually. So, hearing her say she's going to stay really surprised him.
"Really?" He asks as he gets to his feet. His heart thumps against his chest in relief and joy. "You- You're going to stay? Wait, did you tell the others?"
"Not yet. I wanted you to be the first to know..."
It wasn't an easy decision to make. There's plenty she has to take care of to actually cement the fact that she's going to live here from now on. It's a lot to do, but it's something she knows she can handle.
"Then we should tell them! Hold a meeting- a celebration!" Urbain grins, excitement radiating from his entire being. "I'll make the best croissant curry you've ever had!"
"We can hold the celebration for another day!" Harmony says. While she appreciates his enthusiasm, she doesn't want him running off to bother the others. Not at this hour. "For now...why don't we just enjoy the night together?"
Urbain stops in his tracks. His celebratory idea is put on pause as he looks at her. The moonlight is shining down on her, casting a gentle glow over her figure. A Pokemon that was once his is now at her side, fully evolved and powerful in her own right. The Prism Tower hides behind her figure, but he isn't looking past her; he's looking at her.
"Yeah...we should. I still think we should celebrate a little bit, though," Urbain says. The way his heart flutters is bothering him more than he cares to admit. "Cafes are still open. We could go to one? If you want? My treat, of course."
Harmony wants to answer, but Meganium seems to do it for her. With a cheerful cry, she nods her head. Her trainer laughs and shakes her head.
"Sure. Let's go."
"Nouveau Café?"
It's the first cafe Urbain took her to. And one they frequented the most. Even after learning about the truth behind those who run it, she couldn't help but go there, hoping to run into him.
"I wouldn't want to go to any other one."
