Chapter Text

In the dark expanse between life and death there was no time; no form; just the echoes of your existence.

You were falling, a steep descent in an unending limbo. Where there was no start or end. Just you. Whatever you were right now, no body, no mind, just something. Then a spark within your chest, a flame catching to breath you back to life. It surrounded you with lights of gold and yellow.

Swarming your very soul; it wrapped itself into shape bringing back what was lost; you. Then everything all at once, smells, tastes, sensations that bubbled up within your core. The intensity making you sick, Suddenly an exact contrast to the warmth you felt before. You were cold, bare skin colliding on rough pavement. Your lids blinked open, a dreary environment welcomed your newly reborn self. Cased in brick walls and a smell you couldn’t pin.

The scuffling of shoes against the cement buzzed into your ears, groans and yelling accompanied the violent sounds. You craned your neck upwards, instincts telling you to follow the commotion. The new senses you never felt had you in a disarray. You focus on the street light above you, the dull orange glow and buzzing of the fixture almost overwhelmed you. Your head was spinning. Your attention was pulled back towards the sound of a fist pounding into flesh, followed by a wet thud. From your blurry vision you could make out two figures in a seemingly unfair encounter. One young man, with brown tousled hair sitting atop his head. Effortlessly evading the swings from the attacking party who was clearly a much older man. His movements sloppy and blunt

A fight or flight reaction kicked in, you choosing the former in an attempt to get up and run. But were reduced to a statuesque nature when the older man collapses beside you. His body kissing the pavement being wrapped in….webs?

And like a candle wick burning out you were met with black.

“----up..”

A protruding fluorescent light met your heavy eyelids. The beeping of a heart monitor resonating throughout the white room. Your head was still pounding.

“Hey, can I get someone in here? I said she’s up!”

A voice that was a bit too loud flooded into your ears, the crushing headache growing from the various noises, eliciting a groan from you.

Your complaint caught the attention of the same brown haired boy you met earlier, his head whipping back into your direction.

“Hey, whoa, take it easy, don't try to get up.” He raised his hands slightly in a concerned fashion.

Well, you wouldn’t say met quite yet. Why was he still here — where were you, and what was that smell, it was starting to bother you. An uneasy feeling steadily growing within your gut.

A short middle-aged woman clothed in a long white lab coat entered the room. Her hair being neatly tied back into a low ponytail. Light blue scrubs peeking from underneath her coat, the fabric gleaming against the harsh lighting.

“Apologies; we’re swamped. We’re still receiving displaced omega’s, figuring out the resources needed, y’know stock n’ all.” The air about her was professional despite the casual entrance.

You scrunch your brow, the confusion growing at your dilemma making your head throb once more.

“So,” She turned to you, clipboard awaiting within her palm, an empathetic look within her eyes. “Can you tell me your name?”

Your curious eyes drag around the room, attention being caught by the brown haired boy sitting beside you. “Who….who are you?”

“Says he found you passed out in the alley, do you remember how you got there?” The doctor asked in a gentle tone, like you were made of glass and about to shatter at any sudden noises or movements.

You stare at her, the room is still. You couldn’t make sense of anything. A million questions ran through your head, yet you remained silent. A glint caught in your eyes, a shimmer that glossed over threatening to spill down your cheeks. Crystalline tears ran down your face.

“I don’t remember.” a sob left your lips, your sorry state crumbling, lowering your head into your hands. The boy laid his hand on your lap, awkwardly patting it in an attempt to comfort you. You didn’t need comfort right now, you needed answers. Everything was turning on it’s head, and for some damn reason you couldn’t stop crying. Your body was overwhelmed with emotions, they swelled and pulled at your heart. This wasn’t normal.

“Let’s start with your name then, can you tell me?” She queries again.

You say your name with a sniff, it feels unfamiliar on your tongue.

You're asked a string of questions, inquiring about any personal information or any documentation you might have. Most are left unanswered or with a simple “I don’t know.”

“Okay.” A concluding statement to your interrogation. Her response laced with pity.

“I’m gonna step out to process your information. I’ll be right back, sounds good?”

You reluctantly nodded, not like you had much else going on.

You sat alone in the room with your supposed savior once again, it was awkward, the various beeps and trills of the machines in the room filling the silence.

“Sooooo, what’s going on in that head?” He breaks the streak of quiet.

A lot. A lot was going on inside your head.

“What’s your name?” You decide to spit out, you mine as well learn your savior's name.

His face lights up, a big grin spreading across his lips. “Peter! Peter Parker! Nice to meet you.” He held his hand out in a kid like manner towards you, big bright eyes awaiting a handshake. You look at him for a second, it being only human nature for the eyes to wonder around at whatever is in front of them. Your eyes traced from his palm up to his arm, his arms which were surprisingly buff. This innocent looking kid was packing some serious muscle. It made you wonder what he did for a living.

Locking hands with him he swings your arms up and down, the action making your whole body shake along with him. You pull back, rubbing your arm awkwardly. Why was he so strong? You peer up at him, there were some questions that weighed more heavy in your mind.

“Peter.” You start, taking a deep breath, beginning with the onslaught of your interrogation. “Where are we, also what day is it? Are we in America, how’d you find me in that alley and why’d you bring me here specifically?”

“And what on earth is an omega?”

Peter is blinking, a puzzled look on his features. All your other unsolved questions being ignored. “Well, you’re an omega are you not? You smell like one anyway.”

You almost wanted to take offense to his response. Smell like one, you didn’t even know what it was? Did you stink or something?

Opening your mouth to respond you’re cut off by the door swinging open, the doctor stepping in with a troubled look on her face. The seemingly ill at ease professional looks over to Peter then back to you.

“Peter, can you step out with me for a bit.”

“I put her through our system, needless to say what I found; or lack of was alarming.” She flipped the clipboard around, showing Peter that there was nothing pinned to it.

“There’s nothing there?” Peter raised a brow.

“Correct. No medical records, not even a dental record was on file. It’s like this person has been living completely off the grid, she’s essentially a Jane Doe.”

Peter stared at the empty clipboard. He nodded his head, If anything this should’ve been expected. Being a hero you witness a few things. He’s sure this situation hasn’t been unheard of either. Omega’s aren’t adverse to finding themselves in inconveniences like this. Unfortunately; no matter how safe a city may seem, there’s bound to be snakes in the cracks of the foundation. Society was society.

But one thing eluded his understanding, did you seriously not know that you were an omega? Or even what it was? Maybe you grew up sheltered, never being taught about the secondary genders. Wait. Did that mean you didn’t know what an Alpha and Beta were either?

“So she has no place to stay, what about here?” Peter ran his hand through his hair in thought.

“Yes, fortunately we have some empty rooms she could settle into. Seeing as she has nobody on record that could come get her, do you want me to put you down on record as a guardian?” She questions.

“Yeah, that sounds good.” Peter knew you had only just met, but he felt an obligation towards you. He needed to be a shoulder you could lean on. Plus he was just an empathetic sap.

“Alright.” The doctor nodded. “I’m gonna go get her set up, you’ll have to leave soon. They don’t allow anyone but omega’s in after 12:00 am.”

Peter followed the doctor back into the room, taking his spot back on the stool next to you.

“Hey, everything alright?” He checks in.

You snap back to reality, their little talk leaving you alone with your racing thoughts. A nod is all you offer in response. You’re tired and confused, nothing would ale you better than a good nights rest. You can worry about where the hell you are in the morning.

“Alright, you’ll be staying here for the meantime. We’ll work on getting you set up with a proper room. You’ll be given basic necessities so you can get your bearings.” The doctor explains, her speech sounding like a perfectly rehearsed script she’s used a hundred times already.

“Now, do you have any more questions?”

You shake your head tiredly.

“Press this button right here if you need anything.” Her finger pointed to a call button on the side of your hospital bed.

“And a nurse will come and assist you with whatever you need.” Pausing, she steps closer to your bedside.

“I know you’re scared and this is confusing, don’t worry you’re safe here.” Small gloved hands cup over yours giving them a soft squeeze. Her eyes searching yours. You gave another slow nod, accompanied with a faltering smile. You could appreciate her attempt to console you, but the feeling of dread still clung to your heart. She nodded in return, standing up straight to adjust her coat. With that she gave a hurried farewell, scurrying off most likely to help other patients. Guess they were really busy.

Once again with you two in the room Peter stands up from the stool and turns to you. You look up at him, lids heavy with sleep.

He looks back down at you with kind eyes.

”I have to get going now, no visitors in the omega ward after 12:00 am.” An apologetic look graced his features. He scratched the back of his neck, which led into a yawn. He also looked tired, must've had a long day.

“I allowed them to put my information down as your guardian.” He informs you.

“Thanks for everything Peter.” You truly were grateful, within the chaos of this situation at least you had someone that was willing to help you.

“Of course!” A bright smile spreads across his lips. He heads towards the door, stopping once he reaches it. He spins back around quickly, the speed of it almost gave you whiplash just from witnessing it.

“Oh! Hang on, sorry.” Ripping a paper towel from the dispenser by the door he pulls a pen out of his pocket, proceeding to scribble something on the towel.

“This is my number, call me if you need anything, okay?” He gives an enthusiastic thumbs up and hurries back off out the door.

You look down at the paper in your hand.

You don’t have a phone.

The night bleeds into a darker black as Peter exits the Omega Ward. An exhausted sigh escapes him. Crashing at his favorite place sounded just right. Walking into an alleyway the hero sticks himself to the brick wall, climbing up towards the roof. Once there he slings his webs to swing towards the direction of the Avengers Mansion.

Peter honestly still couldn't believe how magnificent the avengers property is. The entire estate. was something out of a dream. An imposing mansion that had a mix of gothic and modern architectural elements that exuded luxury. The dark stone façade and the intricate woodworking gave the mansion a dramatic yet mystical appeal. The large black widows with black trim provided the natural light needed to enhance the grand design. The mansion also appeared to have a castle-like appearance with a central arch over the grand entrance and several curved balconies. The landscaping was also extremely well maintained.

“Hey spidey boy.” Happy calls out by the front doors, a few cardboard boxes stacked on top of each other in his arms. Happy was always a big helpful oaf, though it was more of a control thing the more Peter thought about it.

“Don’t call me that.” Peter retorts with a humorous huff.

“Noted, if you’re looking for Tony he’s by the bar.” Happy nodded his head towards the direction of the common area.

“Thanks, all the other Alphas in?”

“All seven of em, Loki, Thor, Steve, Bucky, Tony, Wanda, and Natasha. Am I forgetting anyone?” A sarcastic response.

“Sounds about right.” Ignoring his tone Peter gives a dismissive wave and smile.

Peter continues down the luxurious hall towards the living room, which was equipped with a fully stocked bar. Where you’d usually find Tony. He could see the rest of the prime alphas within the living room crowded around in a casual fashion.

Before Peter could fully enter the space Tony walks by the entrance.

“Hey-” Tony freezes, his pupils instantly dilating, prompting him to walk closer to Peter.

“Kid, who were you with…?”

The atmosphere becomes heavy, multiple heads turn towards Tony’s and Peter’s direction.

“Oh, boy let me tell you the night I had—”

“An omega.” Tony cuts him off, the statement dripping from his tongue. He steps in closer, breathing in Peter’s clothes that hung heavy with your scent.

“Our omega.”
