Work Text:

Harry had a wicked grin as he smiled down at Peter, who had taken his mask off and was looking up at him with a sad expression.

"You did this to me" Harry said, cupping Peter's cheek with his clawed hand. Peter felt a tear roll down the opposite cheek.

"I know" he swallowed thickly, looking at who had once been his closest friend. He felt sick, seeing how far Harry had fallen, not only into his illness, but also into insanity.

And he hated that he could've prevented it. He hated that he chose not to.

"I've always been fond of you, Pete" Harry said, moving closer to the other man and kissing him on the forehead. Peter began crying in full force now, guilt and grief overtaking his senses. "Awww" Harry cooed, though there was a deranged twinge to it. "Don't cry"

"I'm so sorry, Harry" Peter sobbed. Harry's smile softened into something a bit more genuine.

"Yeah" he replied. "Me too"
