Chapter 1: Kissing In The Moonlight - Barriscowest

Chapter Text

"So..." Barry intertwines his fingers with Iris'. Cisco joins on her left, linking their arms together. They stumble into the center of the empty road. Moonlight, streetlights and a few bright windows lighting their way. "How did you like your first Dungeons and Dragons game?"

Iris feigns disappointment until Barry and Cisco are looking at her. Then she smiles. "It was good. Fun." She knocks her shoulder into Barry's, then Cisco's as Barry knocks her back. "As long as I can flirt with your characters every time we play."

Barry giggles. Giggles.

Iris and Barry have been dating for a while and somewhat recently, Barry and Cisco have been dating. They've been talking about bringing it all together and this was sort of a... trial run. Three dates. An original Cisco-Iris-Barry date, a typical Iris-Barry date with Cisco and then a typical Cisco-Barry date with Iris.

This was date three. He'd expected, prepared for, Iris flirting with him and his character, having specifically made a character that he knew she'd have good chemistry with. What he hadn't expected was Iris to relentlessly flirt with Cisco and for Cisco to flirt back. He usually meta games pretty well but dear God, you couldn't have even asked him for his characters name and gotten a straight answer out of him.

"You were a total badass. Definitely putting good use to those journalist skills." Cisco says, his breath visible in the cold air. "You should play a longer campaign with us. I know you'd rock."

Iris slows them to a stop, "Yeah?" She asks, looking at Cisco.

Barry lets go of her hand and takes a silent step to the side. The buildings have fallen away, opening up to one of the roads next to the water. There are no bright windows or streetlights. Only the moonlight caresses Cisco and Iris' faces, highlighting their features in the night.

"Yeah." Cisco says. His hand has dropped from her elbow to her hand, giving a little squeeze.

He drops into flashtime. Just for a moment. Just to see Cisco's bright expression, Iris' soft, building smile, the cold breath they share in the night. They're beautiful. It's hard to know what it looks like when someone you love falls in love with you, you're on the inside you can't see it through tinted glasses. He always wondered how he looked when he fell in love with Iris, how Iris looked when she fell in love with him. He knows, now. It looks like stars colliding.

Barry drops out of flashtime. Their lips meet. It's gentle, tentative, until Iris presses deeper with her hand on his cheek and Cisco has his hand on the nape of her neck. It doesn't go further than that and breaks off when Cisco can't stop smiling long enough to kiss her back. Iris laughs against his cheek and pulls away.

They look at Barry, both looking a little nervous.

"Please do that again." Barry says. "Preferably in my bed."

Cisco looks at Iris. "Our guy's not smooth, is he?"

"No, he isn't, but he's cute." Iris says. They keep eye contact, a mischievous glint reflecting between the two of them.

Barry feels as though he's made a very dumb decisions bringing these two together.
