Give Klaus a gun and what do you get-

Summary:

I saw this prompt and thought I'd write it:

*Allison, Klaus, Diego, Vanya, and Luther being attacked (again)*
Klaus: *spots a gun and picks it up*
Luther: whoa there buddy, maybe you should put that down-
Klaus: *has already checked the bullets and turned off the safety*
Klaus: *then proceeds to shoot every bad guy in the head*
Five: *appearing from nowhere* he fought in Vietnam, dumbass

Hope you enjoy!

Notes:

I have been working a lot on a long fic so thought I'd take a quick break and write this! I got the prompt off pinterest but I can't remember the account name (let me know if you know) and I had good fun with it!

Quick disclaimer: This isn't really during a fixed point in the canon so if something seems off time wise... it's meant to be like that.
Enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

It was just a normal Tuesday- mostly.

Some company or supernatural entity or something- they hadn't bothered to ask this time- had run into their home and attacked them. This brand of assailants was good; they had to give them that. The group consisted of four people: two burly, bodyguard-looking figures who stood at about the same height as Luther; a slender figure with insane gymnastics skills that they had seamlessly blended into their fighting style; and a silent figure who acted like a ninja the whole time. They all wore masks and identical, logo-less outfits, stopping the group from knowing anything about them.

If anything, Five was betting on these guys being either incredibly well prepared or supernatural.

"Hey Diego!"

"Yeah?" The man mentioned yelled back at his brother, who was being attacked in an almost identical fashion by the second bodyguard.

"I bet you that these fucks want to kill us for our powers!"

Diego shook his head as he darted away from a painful-looking punch, "Yeah, right! I bet that they are just mercenaries!".

"You'd put a fiver on it?"
"Heck yeah, I would!"

Five rolled his eyes, looking away from the interaction to blink behind where Mr Silent was attacking Viktor and Allison. "I bet that they are here for Five!" Allison yelled to their brothers as she blocked yet another punch.

"I bet that it's something to do with the time stuff again!" Viktor added next to her, unable to dodge a punch this time. Allison opened her mouth, "I heard a rumour you fell over," She hissed at the figure who continued to run at her. She jumped as she took a hurried and unsteady step back. Five rolled his eyes at the display of balance and grabbed a nearby fire poker and blinked between them, ducking quickly and smacking the assailant in the ankles.

"They are resistant to my powers!" Allison yelled, Five spotting outside the corner of his eye as Luther sent a quick 'Ha ha, I'm right' look to Diego, earning both of them a distraction that cost their advantage.

Five rolled his eyes. "I bet that they want to kill us!" Klaus squeaked as he dodged a punch from one of the bodyguards who could now better give Klaus his attention. He tore through space, still holding his fire poker, and stabbed the bodyguard in the arm, vanishing again before a swing could be taken at him.

Five appeared on the walkway above, watching the fight below- Where was that ninja guy?

"Five? What about you?"

He wasn't sure which of his siblings yelled that out, but he humoured them anyway, "I bet that they were hired and specially trained for this mission, but they don't know why." He spoke. It made sense; they were too good to be simple mercenaries, but not gloating like every other criminally bitchy individual who had tried to attack them before.

Five heard a noise behind him, blinking back a few steps and swinging the fire poker, watching as the ninja guy dodged back just in time to prevent himself from being sliced open. His opponent also had a long reach weapon: a katana that was both on brand and irritatingly better than Five's own fire poker. They sparred back and forth, one second Five pushing them along, and the next he was dodging another swipe at his throat and taking a step back. It was like an odd ballet performance. Below them, he watched as bodyguard one procured a gun, Diego dodging away from his own opponent to run in front of Luther and direct the bullets into the wall.

Heroic and all if he'd not left Klaus alone against the second bodyguard. Viktor and Allison were still in combat with their flexible opponent and unable to help, though beginning to win their fight. Therefore, Klaus dodged back, trying to hold his own as the bodyguard came toward him.

Bodyguard NO.1 was no match for the duo of Diego and Luther. Diego quickly cleared the assailant's magazine into one of their walls, and Luther then swooped in with a punch that knocked their friend to the floor. One intruder down, three to go.

But the second bodyguard was gaining the upper hand against Klaus, who couldn't dodge forever. Luther and Diego ran to help brother number four, but at that second, Klaus didn't dodge back far enough and flew into a wall, sliding down into a sitting position as he leaned his head onto the wall, bringing a shaky hand up to cradle it.

They all continued against their opponents, Five blinking down into the chaos below to put some distance between him and his new friend who'd almost backed him into a wall. They appeared to be doing quite well now. Five himself was in a standstill against the ninja, Viktor and Allison seemingly close to beating the gymnast and Luther and Diego putting bodyguard two into a world of hurt. But they were still not finished, and though they had a good upper hand now, they needed to finish the fight before they lost it.

But Five himself couldn't do anything, the ninja appearing again with a swipe to the head that Five blinked to avoid, slashing at their ankles as they moved away from him with lightning speed. In the corner of Five's eye, he could see bodyguard No. 2's gun slide to the side, landing - perfectly - near Klaus' feet. Brother number four picked it up, and Five was reassured at the comfortable way the gun slid into his brother's hand.

Their other siblings clearly didn't agree.

"Whoa there, buddy," Luther called as Diego darted forward for more punches to their enemy, "maybe you should put that down-" The worry in his voice rang wrong to Five. Why would he be against Klaus having a gun when he literally learnt to use one in 'Nam? Then it hit, they didn't know Klaus had served in 'Nam.

To Five, that made it even funnier, and he snorted as he blinked back from his opponent again, watching in his peripheral vision as Klaus expertly checked the magazine and clicked off the safety. The gun soon rose, wavering at first but holding strong after a second, pointing at head height.

With a smirk at his opponent, Five blinked back to the walkway above, given a great view as Klaus shot down every bad guy still standing. A perfect shot was buried in the skull of each of them.

Their siblings paused, staring at Klaus in shocked horror as they observed his work. "How did you-" Allison trailed off, and Five blinked back down next to Klaus, grabbing the gun gently out of his hand and quickly shooting bodyguard one in the head - just in case he decided to get back up. "He fought in Vietnam, you dumbasses," he said as if it was obvious - because, if they'd asked why Klaus was acting different after his brother had come back, it would be obvious. With a smirk at his siblings' still shocked and quite frankly hilarious faces, Five pulled Klaus up and began to walk him into the sitting room.

"Let's get everyone patched up"

His siblings stirred into action as he passed, "Hey! Wait! You can't just gloss over that!" they yelled behind him.

Notes:

It's hilarious to me that this took like 40 minutes to write and an extra 15-20 to edit. That worries me for my long fic because I've already been writing this thing for almost a month lmao.

Leave a kudo if you've got to this point and I hope you have a great day!
