Chapter Text

The sound of a door creaking and light switch clicking out fluttered throughout the decently sized bedroom of self-acclaimed  Idol addict Toramaru Nao. A 14-year-old girl currently going to one of Tokyo’s most prestigious academies- called KIT: Academy For the Arts.  Nao, in this case, was majoring in fashion to become a designer one day.

The floorboards of her room creaked, and a figure slouched own, rubbing her arm gently- but just enough pressure to open her eyes.”

“Nao.. get up sleepyhead. You have school today.”

It was a calm voice, speaking in that of a whisper. Toramaru perked up immediately as she heard it, her knotted bed hair moving as if it had a life of her own along with her. The girl’s eyes struggling to open, but her pupils were still slightly visible.

The voice she heard was that of her mother. tall and slim with deep black hair which was so shiny you could probably see your own reflection through it. She had a soft and delicate face, just like Nao, and a slight smile grazed her face as she spoke.

“Thanks for reminding me, mom.” Nao’s morning voice was dry and deeper than her usual bright tone, yet still recognizable.

Her mom’s face perked a smile even bigger than before.

“Get up as soon as you can, ‘kay? Breakfast will be done soon.” Her mom said, getting back up and walking out her room, closing the door as she left.

Nao Toramaru’s morning routine was simple. She would crack her bones and stretch in her bed, put on her fluffy pink slippers, and get off her bed. Then, she’d walk over to her shrine that lay on top of her dresser. It wasn’t a shrine for a religion- well, atleast to the common viewer.

Her shrine was filed to brim with lace, albums, small plushies, idol pickets, lightsticks- really any piece of idol merch you could think of. But now- you may be thinking, just who is this shrine for?

On the front of her biggest, most delicately decorated picket- was a white-haired mid-20s man with glasses. Taro Sakamoto. He was the leader of one the generations most popular boy bands- called ORDER- under JAA Labels. She had her first encounter with him as person in her younger years- and had been obsessed since. Seeing him almost as a god of some sort, using him as an excuse to grow as a person. Which seemingly had a good affect- judging by the school she goes to.

She put her hands together and prayed, whispering in a low voice;

“Dear Sakamoto, I hope today I can finally meet my one true love”.

That was her daily prayer. It basically never changed- unless something big happened that made her want to change it. Her prayers never seemed to end up working- as admiration was only the furthest she could get with these supposed “one true loves” she met overtime. She would often just get accused of being a stalker and then forget about them. After all, a romance manga and idol fanatic can only get so far, can they?

Once her prayers were done, she went to her shelf and picked out a random volume of whatever available romance manga was available, slapped it on her desk, and then proceeded to change into her school uniform. It consisted of a white button down, a sweater vest, a bow, black socks and a long, black skirt.

As she finished getting dressed, the voice of her mother shouting rung throughout the house.

“Nao! Breakfast is ready!”

Just like Nao- despite her mom’s cute and innocent  looks, she is quite loud on a good day. Heck, it was 6:30 am and her mom was screaming as if she was 4 margaritas in or something. Toramaru just sighed and smiled, grabbing the volume she picked earlier and walked out her room and towards the dining table.

Her breakfast consisted of rice, an egg, and a assortment 0f vegetables. The aroma hit her face as the plate hit the table- including a hint of coffee due to her mother. As she ate, she flipped through the pages of her romance manga, reading it as if it was the morning paper.

When she finished eating her breakfast, she put her manga down and grabbed a napkin from the my melody napkin holder in the middle of the table. Tapping the napkin on her face, she stood up and grabbed her plate, cleaning it in the kitchen sink and then putting it in the dishwasher. She ran back to her table to grab her manga, and then walked to the bathroom to brush her teeth.

The rest of her morning was pretty simple. She did her makeup while listening to her playlist of all of the ORDER’s discography, make her lunch, checked her bag to make sure everything she needed was in it, and then slipped on her brown loafers, then rushed out the door- but not without hugging her mom and giving her good luck for the day using her Sakamoto plushie on her backpack’s small front pocket. Her mom just smiled and nodded. There’s probably something wrong with my daughter she thought to herself. But honestly, she’s not doing drugs or alcohol when others at her age probably are, so I support her.

As the door slammed in her face, Toramaru’s mom just sighed, and walked to her room.

Toramaru walked happily to school. She always did- since she was a true believer that her morning prayers did something. Music banged in her ears from her wired earbuds, and her Sakamoto keychain banged against her bag, making slight jingling noises.

Soon enough, she began to recognize her school uniform all around her, and that was a sign her school was near. The big, bustling academy with its elegant infrastructure towered over her. As she got closer, she noticed a big crowd of people not wearing her uniform- seemingly ordinary people being held back by barricades and security guards. Their phones held high above all their heads, and screams surrounded the school’s entrance. There was a teacher guiding the students to a different entrance- so Toramaru followed the signals.

What the hell is happening at our school.. and why is there so many fangirls just like me? Nao thought. While walking, she turned around to look at them one last time. After all, she had never seen something like this- well, at least at school. While going back to focus, her eyes met with those walking next to her.

“Hey there Toramaru!” Akira said, with a big smile on her face. Akane and Kaji were walking beside her. The two boys stayed deadpan, while Akira was as bright as the sun. Toramaru was nearly blinded.

“Goodmorning Akira.” She replied back diligently, returning a smile. “And Kaji and Akane.” Kaji waved back, and Amane just said a simple hello. Welp… nothing had affected them at least. She thought to herself with a sigh.

“That commotion seriously surprised me- I nearly walked into it… I think I’ve learned my lesson.” Akira added, with a worried expression on her face. Toramaru giggled in response.

“You really are a klutz, huh?”

“Hey- ugh… You’re right.. I can barely argue with that.”

“To be honest,  if anything I was surprised that Toramaru wasn’t in the crowd with those people.” Amane said. Toramaru replied with an annoyed face, her expression immediately dropping.

“Hey! I’m not that crazy!”

“Is it not a reasonable assumption though? From what I’ve heard a idol or something transferred to our school today. Isn’t that your whole thing?”

“Whoever it is he’s probably irrelevant. I only have eyes for Sakamoto anyways- he’s seriously my god!” Her face lit up just talking about him.

“Yeah that’s the biggest lie I’ve ever heard in my life. You’re a fool for hot men.” Amane said, clearly sure with his answer. The two fought on their whole way to their classroom. Kaji just two in between the two of them, a shiver going down his spine.  Shoot… what do I say? Should I split them up? Wait but then.. Akira will hate me for not including her. Or then I might sound biased and Toramaru and Amane might both end up hating me. What if they all end up-

“Hey Kaji! Class is over here.” Akira shouted at him from the door of class 1-A. He had walked at least 2 doors down from his own homeroom.

“Ah… sorry.” Kaji said in a soft tone.

“It’s okay! Happens to me all the time.” Akira responded in an attempt to support him. I mean, that is true. Kaji thought. Welp, at least I’m not the only one.

The four all sat down in their chairs- which were conveniently all placed in one horizontal line next to each other in the third row of four in the classroom. From left to right, Toramaru, Akira, Kaji and Amane.

The classroom was filled with chatter, but the four didn’t speak much. Amane was studying, Kaji was overwhelmed by all the noises, Akira was staring at the chalkboard, despite the teacher not even being here yet, and Toramaru just stared out the classroom window next to her, with her head resting on her desk.

The idea of an idol coming to school did intrigue her though, After all- she was curious who it may be. Maybe they’re from one of the newer groups? After all, they are coming to a academy for high schoolers. Maybe they’re in a girl group? Shoot, maybe I could get makeup tips from them. How would I even approach them though? So many thoughts scrambled up in her head. She bit her nail, thinking deeply. All of a sudden, the sounds of dozens of footsteps trampling and high pitched screams of girls could be heard directly outside their classroom. Toramaru’s head perked up to get a better view.

There was so many people outside her classroom. Upperclassmen, people from the classes next to her, people who didn’t even have their schools unifor- Wait, is that who is think it is?

A man around 170 cm, noir black hair that was slightly overgrown, and a white mask that covered the lower region of his face. The screams grew louder as his bodyguards walked past the class windows, along with him. One bodyguard could be heard yelling for everyone to stand back.

Toramaru simply could not believe her eyes.

The man was indeed Mafuyu Seba.

The new boy in her class was Mafuyu Seba- the youngest member of the newest boy group under JAA labels.

A body guard walked in front of him, opened the classroom door for him and motioned for him to enter. He took his invitation and walked into the classroom. Their homeroom teacher, Shin Asakura walked inside after him. He set his left hand down on his desk, which was on the left side of the classroom. Mafuyu stood awkwardly near the door, motioning for his bodyguards to leave- in which they followed. As soon as the sounds outside and inside the classroom settled down, Shin began to speak.

“As I’m sure you all can see- we have a new student today. His name is Mafuyu Seba. You may recognize him, you may not. Just be kind and welcoming like you always are.” The man said. The class erupted in claps and screams. Shin just sighed. I wonder why they put the idol dude in our class.. he thought to himself.

“Uh.. let’s see.” Shin eyed the classroom to look for a good place to seat him. There he thought to himself. Oh, well wont this be interesting?

He picked up his finger and pointed it directly in Toramaru’s direction. “There, Seba. Sit behind Toramaru over there.” He said, in the average enthusiastic teacher voice. He shot a grin straight at Toramaru’s face, which just pissed her off even more. Mafuyu obeyed his directions, and walked directly to the spot he was asked nicely to sit in. He placed his bag down, and slid the chair open, sitting down. The whole class eyed in concern. As for Toramaru… she stared down at the wood design in her desk in an attempt to distract herself. Why Shin… you little- she proceeded to insult him in her head. Until, a very gentle tug on her shoulder, made her turn her head around, her eyes meeting those of the man behind her. She was immediately flashed in the face with a gleam of bright light she was unable to identify just exactly where it came from.

“Hey. Toramaru right?” Mafuyu said. “Do you think I could sit with you at lunch? I’m a bit lonely here.”

When Toramaru heard this, she thought Mafuyu’s expression would be the casual charismatic smile of the average idol. But… she was met with the exact opposite. He was so pale- almost as if he was on the verge of passing out. Sweat droplets drizzled down his face and his words were spoken in a almost wobbly tone.

This guy sure is full of surprises huh.. she thought to herself.

“Sure. Of course you can.” Her face lit up, a soft and welcoming smile on it. In this situation- Mafuyu was supposed to be the ray of sunshine- but the roles were reversed as ever. The two were thinking completely different things.

Why the hell did Shin decide to put me, the geek girl, in front of a fucking idol?

If I have to talk to at least 4 more people today I might just shit myself.
