Seonghwa could hear the bass pounding through the walls before he'd even set foot inside. The house seemed full to bursting with people already, there was no way there'd be space for three more. If not for Wooyoung and San dragging him along by the arms he would have turned around there and then.
"C'mon hyung, you took long enough getting ready, let's go!" A blatant lie, that was. It was entirely Wooyoung's fault that Seonghwa had taken this long to get ready. It was Wooyoung who had picked his costume, Wooyoung who had prepared the mask, and Wooyoung who had taken pains to convince Seonghwa that no, really, it's not too revealing hyung, there will be people wearing way less for sure.
One of those people was San, of course, whose outfit of no shirt and giant fur coat wasn't going to last more than five minutes in the heat of the party. This had only strengthened Wooyoung's argument.
Seonghwa was dressed in a billowy blouse so see-through it barely deserved the name, which was tucked into a black corset. The combination made his waist look impossibly slim while his shoulders looked broader than they really were, and even Seonghwa couldn't say he didn't look good in it. He felt less confident about the hotpants and the high heeled boots Wooyoung said had to go with the outfit, or the lace mask and rabbit ears he was wearing, but the way San had blushed when Seonghwa asked him how he looked had convinced him that the outfit was, if nothing else, effective.
Looking at the house and then back at Wooyoung Seonghwa made up his mind: he was going to have a good time. There, it was decided. The fact that Hongjoong couldn't be bothered to take him to parties was Hongjoong's problem. And if anything happened to happen at this party? Well, that wasn't any of Hongjoong's business.
Seonghwa shook his arm out of Wooyoung's grasp and squared his shoulders. Wooyoung grinned at him when he saw Seonghwa's resolve, and grabbed San's arm instead. "Let's have some fun, boys," Seonghwa said as he breezed past them. Wooyoung's cheer was almost as loud as the bass.
Somehow, they made it inside. The throng of people seemed a single, living organism, and all of its single-mindedness was aimed at having fun. San lost his fur coat within a record 2 minutes to a group of girls who were high on the atmosphere and possibly also on some substances and who were absolutely obsessed with the texture of the fur.
The flashing lights and moving limbs made it hard to recognize costumes, nevermind people. Talking was nigh impossible, so they danced, letting the music take over their mind and letting the crowd move their bodies. Seonghwa let the freedom of it wash over him, forgetting the worries, forgetting himself, and simply existing as one small part in the ocean on the dance floor.
More than once he felt hands touching him, his waist or his butt, and Seonghwa reveled in it. He twisted around and danced with them, these other parts of the ocean. First there was a maybe-wolf and then a witch who cooed at his bunny ears and seemed obsessed with the way the corset cinched his waist in. Seonghwa allowed them to touch, welcomed their admiration, enjoyed their dance moves, but twice his partners were swept away by the tide of dancers. No matter: with Wooyoung and San there he felt safe.
And when he was the one swept out to sea, losing sight of Sannie and Woo, that was fine too. Seonghwa felt at home here, and let the bass guide him, dancing his way through the throng and towards the kitchen. Presumably there would be drinks there. The heat and the dancing had left him parched.
The kitchen was marginally less loud, just barely less crowded, and without the flashing lights of the party the light in the kitchen seemed dim. Seonghwa thought he recognised the maybe-wolf from earlier, though it was hard to tell with the way he was pressed up against the counter by someone in what looked to be a pretty good Gandalf costume.
Seonghwa made his way around them to the fridge and the collection of ice buckets. Someone bumped into him when he got there, and a hand snaked around his waist to catch him before he could fall.
"Sorry bunny! Didn't mean to run into you," a pirate grinned an infectious grin at Seonghwa, and didn't let go. The man was dressed in all black, from his sturdy combat boots to his tight pants and loose shirt up to the half-mask and bandana that covered his face and hair. "Can I get you a drink to make up for it?"
Any other time Seonghwa might have rolled his eyes: at the cliché lines, at the offer when the drinks were free and right there, at the tacky costume. But the thrumming bass that still vibrated through his blood and the heat of the hand on his waist that he could feel even through his corset made him ignore all that.
Seonghwa tilted his head as if considering, and snuck a hand around the pirate's waist in return: two could play that game. "Very well. Mix me something fun," he ordered, and had the pleasure of seeing the pirate blink twice behind his mask before startling into movement.
"One fun drink for my bunny! How do you feel about something sweet?"
"That sounds great," Seonghwa said, stepping closer and running a hand up the arm that held him. He was practically pressed against the pirate's side now, and even that close their conversation was more shouted than spoken. The pirate seemed almost nervous at his proximity, but made no move to let Seonghwa go, even when it became hard to grab the right drinks. Seonghwa nodded at the few bottles the pirate pulled to show him without really caring. If it wasn't good he'd just leave the drink somewhere, and sail elsewhere into the sea of the party looking for better.
The pirate mixed them two identical drinks, pouring singlehanded, stirring with a drinking straw, and never once letting go of Seonghwa's waist. When he handed Seonghwa his drink he turned, tightening his grip on Seonghwa's waist. He pressed them both together in a long line, and Seonghwa's heartbeat sped up as he felt the pirate's obvious interest against his thigh. He pushed his leg forward just a little, just to tell the pirate he had noticed, that it was appreciated.
The pirate took a big gulp of his own drink, seemingly in need of fortification before looking up at Seonghwa. Seonghwa, already tall himself, was even taller in his high heels, and decided to play with his food a little. He took a long, slow drink, tilting his face politely to the side to drink and conveniently exposing the pirate to a close up view of his long neck. He had planned to continue teasing, but found himself surprised by his drink: a perfect tequila sunrise, one of his favourite cocktails. He licked the fruity taste off his lips, but didn't get the time to wonder how this pirate might have guessed his favourite drink when a hand grabbed the back of his neck and dragged him down.
A hot tongue chased the taste of the cocktail across his lips, and Seonghwa's lips parted easily. The pirate licked into his mouth, needing no more invitation than that and pulled Seonghwa closer still. Seonghwa abandoned his drink and wrapped a second arm around the man. He pressed his thigh into the pirate's hard on, and Seonghwa was rewarded with a gasp. The man deepened the kiss in response, messy and hot and everything Seonghwa needed just now.
The pirate didn't release Seonghwa for air until they were both panting, and Seonghwa could feel his cock growing hard in the too-tight hotpants he was wearing. Cursing Wooyoung for suggesting them, and cursing himself for listening, he pressed forward and found no relief against the pirate's heat. The man proceeded to suck a heated trail of kisses down Seonghwa's jawline, and further down his neck. Seonghwa threw back his head, heat coiling low in his belly.
"Want to take this somewhere more private, bunny?" The pirate spoke against his skin, and Seonghwa found himself nodding, still breathless. There was a gleam in the man's eyes that almost reminded him of Hongjoong, who said he had better things to do tonight. He spared a thought for his boyfriend, who was still at home, who never wanted to go to parties like these– and he ignored the ache in his heart, and the quiet wish that this could be, should be, him and Hongjoong. But they'd never agreed to be exclusive, and just once, for one night…
"Unless you want me to make a mess of you right here, bunny?" The pirate's grin was infectious, roguish and dangerous. For a moment he felt he might fall into that smile, and follow him anywhere. Seonghwa could feel the blush burning across his cheeks, and could only hope his mask would hide the worst of it. The pirate was smirking up at him like he knew anyway, like he didn't care where where things happened, or even like he'd be interested in fucking Seonghwa right here on the kitchen counter.
"Let's find somewhere else!" Seongwha decided quickly before the man's smirk drove him insane and he'd let him have his way.
That somewhere else took some time to reach, as the pirate grabbed Seonghwa halfway through their trek across the dancing crowd. He spun Seonghwa around and yelled something that may have been 'This is my favourite song!', but it was hard to hear him over the throbbing bass and yelling crowd. It was even harder to hear the song, but judging by the barking of the crowd around them this should be Song Mingi's Roar. Seonghwa remembered listening to it for the first time with Hongjoong, who hadn't been able to sit still throughout the song. It wasn't Seonghwa's usual kind of music, but he has to admit the lyrics were good. Now, feeling the rhythm in the right atmosphere, he finally understood Hongjoong's appreciation for it.
At the end of the song the pirate dragged him into a hard kiss, a fire driving him that made Seonghwa light up in a whole new way. Then he broke the kiss and took Seonghwa's hand, leading him through the crowd with ease. The stairs were more of an obstacle: not for the small group of people sitting down at the bottom few stairs, but for the fact that the pirate thought it a good idea to try and walk up the stairs backwards while kissing Seonghwa senseless. 'Somewhere more quiet' ended up being the master bedroom, though quiet was a relative term when Seonghwa could still feel the bass of the music thrumming through the floor and in his veins.
The pirate's hands trailed down his hips as he walked Seonghwa backwards to the bed. Seonghwa tumbled down onto the soft bedding, but instead of following him down the pirate knelt between his legs. Heated kisses trailed up the inside of Seonghwa's thigh and he let his legs fall open wider.
The pirate took that invitation for what it was and started to unbutton his shorts. Seonghwa moved to help by unhooking the corset, only for the pirate to stop him.
"Keep the corset on, bunny. You look stunning like this." He finally managed to win the fight against the lone button on Seonghwa's shorts, and sucked in a breath as he saw what lay underneath. "Oh, going commando tonight? What a treat." Seonghwa felt himself flush violently, grateful for the mask he was wearing.
"I didn't have any underwear that wouldn't show under the shorts…" he muttered weakly.
"And I, for one, am grateful for that fact," the pirate said, pressing a kiss to Seonghwa's hipbone. "Now lay back and let me blow you, bunny."
And that was all the warning Seonghwa received before the pirate wrapped his lips around his cock. The slick heat of his mouth made Seonghwa groan and he let his head fall back to enjoy the feeling. A hand wrapped around the base of his cock as the pirate took him as deep as he could, retreated, and then took Seonghwa impossibly deeper. The heat, the buzz from the party, and the languid rhythm were enough to make Seonghwa claw at the blankets beneath him.
"Oh, more, please–" Obligingly, the pirate sped up, wrapping his free hand around Seonghwa's thigh and massaging his leg for extra distraction. The heat coiling in Seonghwa's belly became liquid fire, and he tried to thrust into the hot mouth surrounding him. With a firm grip the pirate held him down, and hummed around his cock. The vibrations shook loose the last of Seonghwa's restraint and he wrapped a hand around the pirate's neck to pull him closer, to dictate the rhythm.
The pirate let it happen, but hummed evilly around him again, taking him deeper and deeper until:
"Ah– I'm gonna–" He barely had time to warn, but the pirate seemed to know what he was doing and pulled off, just in time for Seonghwa to cum all over his face instead of down his throat as his orgasm crashed through him with a music all its own. When Seonghwa's brain stopped vibrating in time with the bass he looked down at the other man. White splatter decorated his face, his mask and his smirk as he licked his lips to taste Seonghwa again.
The pirate lifted a hand to catch some of the cum trailing his cheek and licked it off his fingers, all the while maintaining eye contact with Seonghwa as he worked his tongue between his fingers. Then he reached up to untie his mask and wipe it clean, taking off his bandana as well to reveal familiar black-and-white hair.
Seonghwa's heart came to a screeching halt, his orgasm-high shattered into tiny pieces as he looked at his boyfriend. The boyfriend he had sort of, kind of, cheated on– with his boyfriend.
"H-Hongjoong??"
"Yeah?" His boyfriend, still dressed as a pirate and wiping Seonghwa's cum off his face, looked down at him fondly. If the bed could swallow him whole, and maybe end his stupid existence in the process, Seonghwa wouldn't say no.
"But, you said…"
Hongjoong raked a hand through his hair and smiled sheepishly. "I said I wasn't going to the party, yeah. And then Woo sent me a pic of you getting ready, and I uhhh. Well. I couldn't really stay away after that." Seonghwa knew the photo in question, had even agreed to let Wooyoung send it to Hongjoong to 'show what he was missing out on'.
Wooyoung had been lying on the floor, annoyed at Seonghwa's outfit indecision, and had taken the picture looking up at Seonghwa while Seonghwa stood in front of his full length mirror with San behind him, lacing up his corset. Seonghwa had caught Wooyoung angling his camera, and in the photo his reflection was looking down at the camera with an arrogantly raised eyebrow. Wooyoung had giggled at the photo, showed San first (who had whistled at the view) and then showed Seonghwa his screen. And Seonghwa had been so pleased with how blatantly, undeniably sexy he looked, that he hadn't stopped to think about consequences when Wooyoung asked if he should send it to Hongjoong.
When Seonghwa remained silent for too long Hongjoong caught on: "Wait, you didn't know it was me?"
Feeling very small, Seonghwa shook his head and closed his eyes. He tried to prepare himself for… he wasn't even sure what. Heartbreak? Anger? Certainly some terrible fate brought about by his own stupidity– Then Hongjoong giggled. It was the kind of unguarded laugh that Seonghwa loved, the kind that seemed to catch Hongjoong by surprise every time it happened.
Seonghwa's eyes flew open to see Hongjoong climbing up on the bed to lie down next to him. Blinking in confusion, Seonghwa could only stare at Hongjoong as he reached over and gently untied Seonghwa's mask to press a kiss to his forehead.
"I'm honoured that you would choose me again."
"Who are you dressed as, anyway?"
"Me?" Hongjoong laughed. "I'm the Dread Pirate Roberts, of course."
