“Hi, Kento. Long time no see.”
Nanami’s heart sprung, immediately followed by a tidal wave of nausea. He froze in the middle of the hallway, blood turning to ice as a gentle smile greeted him at his apartment door.
Conflict took hold of his tongue and he was unable to force any words out. He could only stare, trying to find a detail, any flaw that would betray the imitation.
The same raven hair, the same look in his purple-ish eyes, the same soft, inviting voice…
“Is it you?...” Nanami finally managed to choke out.
Lines formed around Getou’s eyes as his smile grew wider.
The same lines that would appear when they were in high school and Getou would smile at Nanami’s reddening cheeks as they held hands.
“I’ve kept you waiting, I’m sorry.” Getou said.
There were more lines than there used to be before. But then again, it had been eleven years.
“Is it really you?”
It was October, and Getou had been dead for ten months.
Dead. Dead, dead, dead.
Dead.
But it was him standing there, Nanami had no doubt about it. How Getou had achieved it, or how it could have potentially been faked, he couldn’t figure it out. His brain was at a loss, screaming at his heart, his soul and his body to stop and listen, to snap out of it, to realize it was impossible.
But Nanami hadn’t seen Getou’s body. Gojou had kept him to himself, selfishly. Nanami couldn’t judge him; he might have done the same.
Gojou may have lied. He may have helped Getou fake his death.
Nanami let go of all his precautions and took several steps towards the man he had only seen in dreams for a decade.
“...I know I look different,” Getou admitted. “It’s been too long. I’m not the man you used to know.”
“You look the same,” Nanami exhaled. He brought a trembling hand to Getou’s face, cupping his cheek and gasping when he was met with the same skin he’d caressed and peppered with kisses when they were just kids.
“Do I?” Getou asked, leaning into Nanami’s touch.
“Well, you do look tired. You seem… hurt.”
Getou offered him a strained smile.
“I’ve gone through many ordeals.”
“I can imagine,” Nanami reassured him.
Getou’s soft laughter echoed through the empty hallway.
“After everything I’ve done, you must hate me.”
“Suguru…”
“I hope you don’t love me anymore. Kento, please, tell me you don’t love me anymore…”
“I…”
A sudden wave of exhaustion must have hit Getou, as his head tilted back and his body went limp in Nanami’s arms. He was barely conscious when Nanami carried him inside, holding him tight despite the tremors of his own body.
Through half-lidded eyes, Getou saw the tear that rolled down Nanami’s face. A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
Ah. So, he still loves him.
A few moments after Nanami set him down on the couch, propping his feet up with a couple of pillows and putting another fluffy one under his head, Getou stirred. He couldn’t fake unconsciousness for too long; he would risk giving Nanami enough time to make calls about the situation.
“Kento…” He called out, intentionally slurring his confused voice.
Nanami was immediately by his side, returning from the kitchen with a glass of water.
“There.” He ordered softly as he brought the glass to Getou’s lips, who drank it like a man who had just walked through a desert.
“Is this your… Did you bring me in?” Getou moaned. “After everything… You still trust-”
“I never blamed you. I would have taken the same path you walked if you’d asked me.”
Crocodile tears swam in purple eyes as Getou’s dead heart bathed in satisfaction. His host’s memories were still fresh in Nanami’s mind. It was easier than he’d thought.
“Would you still say yes if I were to ask you now?” Getou asked, propping himself on his elbow to cup Nanami’s cheek with his opposite hand.
Nanami got down on one knee, melting into Getou’s touch and bringing their foreheads together.
“Where have you been, Suguru? He groaned wearily.
Nanami was tired. He too felt like he could pass out at any moment, curl up in a hole where neither sorcerers nor ordinary humans would come ask anything out of him.
The only sliver of hope, or rather, the only source of comfort and understanding he’d found in his half-lived life, came from a curse. But despite his honest and genuine feelings for this strange being that got him better than anyone else, he couldn’t call it hope.
No amount of precautions in keeping their relationship a secret would change the nature of his little curse, and there would come a day when he would have to exorcize or get killed by him. And then again, that was the hopeful scenario.
It was more likely that Nanami would someday hear that someone who wasn’t him had rid the world of the curse of human hatred.
The one person that truly saw him and loved him unconditionally.
Nanami felt guilty for letting his thoughts wander towards Mahito as he ran his fingers through Getou’s hair.
“It doesn’t matter now,” Getou said. His voice brought a different flutter to Nanami’s heart. “I’ve found you again.”
“Suguru…” Nanami murmured as he buried his nose in Getou’s raven locks.
Getou pulled him closer, one hand on the back of Nanami’s neck as the blond sorcerer’s mouth traveled down his pale throat.
“Will you follow me down the path I’ve chosen, Kento?” He asked with the softest, most inviting, and most Getou-like voice he could muster.
It was far from perfect, it would probably not work on Gojou, but it fooled Nanami’s blinded heart.
“Yes.”
Being a curse user was the last option that Nanami hadn’t tried, besides being dead.
If he died by Getou’s side, his life wouldn’t feel like a complete waste.
“Take me with you.” He breathed out.
Getou couldn’t hold back a twisted little laugh.
Nanami’s body froze while his face was still buried in Getou’s hair.
Getou?
Suddenly, he felt a sting on the back of his neck. He flinched, smacking away the curse that he hadn’t noticed manifest behind him.
What a fool.
“What… What are you?...” Nanami groaned as his vision began to blur.
“Me? But I am your dear Getou Suguru.” The stranger said innocently, but with a smile that was laced with the same poison that ran through Nanami’s veins.
What a fool.
Nanami’s head was swimming and he could barely keep it upright. Still, he managed to push himself away from Getou, collapsing immediately after.
He could only see Getou’s feet as the curse user got off the couch and walked up to him. He called his rape drug curse back and summoned a larger one that picked up Nanami’s limp body off the floor.
“What have you…” Nanami moaned jerkily, staring at Getou’s back as the curse that carried him followed behind him.
Nanami couldn’t feel his body anymore.
“I’m answering your prayers.”
Suddenly, Getou’s voice didn’t sound right. It hadn’t sounded right from the beginning. Nanami cursed himself for only realizing it now.
What a fool.
“Why…”
“I’m taking you away.”
Getou Suguru is dead.
“Getou?” A voice that wasn’t Getou’s nor his own reached Nanami’s ears.
He was roughly dropped onto the ground, his body limp like a ragdoll. Hot and cold flashes overwhelmed him, making his stomach twist and sweat bead on his forehead.
He didn’t expect to feel the coarseness of sand against his cheek, nor the sight of the distressed curse that was looking at Getou.
“Why…” The curse said, trying to compose himself, only to sound way too overexcited. “Why’d you bring the seven-three sorcerer here? Is he gonna be our new toy? Can I experiment on him?”
Getou chuckled while digging the tip of his shoe into Nanami’s cheek with a mischievous grin.
“You’ve done more than playing with him several times already, haven’t you?”
“More than playing?” Mahito asked, tilting his head to the side. “What do you mean?”
“Don’t play dumb with me, Mahito,” Getou said softly, like a gentle yet disapproving mother.
Something in the air changed.
“So what if I did?” He asked defiantly. “It doesn’t mean anything. Why do you care if I mess around?”
If the other curses were there, he might’ve felt more confident picking a fight with Getou. But for some reason, Jougo and Hanami weren’t around, and Dagon, though he had to be there to maintain the domain, was nowhere to be seen.
“I care when the person you’re whoring yourself out to happens to be a sorcerer.”
“I’m not whorin-”
“Then what? Did you catch feelings?”
Getou’s voice was sharp as a knife and filled with disgust and mockery. Mahito’s stance shifted into the defensive, his arms tensing at his sides as cursed energy pooled into his hands. His eyebrows furrowed and he forced an unnatural smile.
“What? No, that’s a human, how could I–”
Anyone would have seen through Mahito’s act, but to Nanami’s fogged-up brain, those words felt like a stab in the back.
Getou’s eyes softened and he brushed it off with a flick of his hand that meant of course Mahito, I know I can trust you.
Mahito’s eyes were avoiding Nanami’s face, half-buried in the sand and deformed with distress.
“Did you have fun?” Getou asked in the same motherly tone like Mahito was a runaway teenager.
Mahito began picking at the stitches around his wrist, pulling on a staple until it felt uncomfortable.
“Hm. Sure.” He replied, kicking a seashell that bounced against Nanami’s cheek.
“Then you’ll allow me to have some fun too, won’t you?”
The stitch that Mahito was playing with gave way and blood dripped down his arm and onto the sand.
Mahito’s silhouette was dancing in front of Nanami’s blurry vision. He silently begged for the curse to look at him, to let him know that he mattered in at least one person’s eyes.
That he was still human, still a person. That he wasn’t just grief in a flesh coat.
Mahito didn’t look at him, instead turning away as he replied, “Yeah. Have your way with him.”
Nanami’s last flicker of hope was replaced by a weight pressing against his back. Black fabric surrounded his field of vision as Getou’s body hovered over his own, his knee digging into Nanami’s rib cage and his delicate hand pulling onto his yellow tie, knocking the air out of him.
But he didn’t choke. That wasn’t the end of him.
Getou’s hand let go and started working on unbuckling his belt instead, rolling Nanami on his side so that he could reach for his fly and pull his pants all the way down to his ankles.
Nanami was soon face-first into the sand again, this time with his buttocks exposed and Getou’s cock, smoothly freed from his underwear, grinding against his entrance.
Nanami’s hole twitched involuntarily. He was barely awake and aware of his surroundings, but he could feel how hard Getou’s shaft was as it rubbed against his traitorous, begging asshole.
“You’re already so ready for me, Kento…” Getou purred, and Nanami felt sick when hands parted his cheeks. He tensed when a finger pushed against his entrance.
“Nn… N…”
He couldn't manage to mumble more than that.
Getou’s finger successfully slid in.
“Ooh… Tight, just the way you’ve always been.”
A second finger soon joined in, and Nanami let out an inarticulate scream.
“Shh…” Getou cooed, his free hand smoothing down Nanami’s hair and stroking his face. “It’s me, it’s just me…”
Tears rolled down Nanami’s cheek as Getou’s fingers moved inside of him, tearing him apart with each scissoring motion.
“My sweet, gentle, kind Kento… How I’ve missed you, how I’ve yearned for you…” Getou whispered in his ear, his long hair cascading over his shoulder and covering Nanami's nose and mouth.
Nanami didn’t have the energy to sob.
With his eyes closed, he let Getou’s scent fill his senses and invade his brain. He sighed in relief when the fingers pulled out, only to let out an agonizing groan when they were replaced by a massive, white-hot cock.
“I’m so sorry, Kento. I never meant to hurt you, you know that, don’t you?”
More petting Nanami’s contorted, tear-stained face.
“I was just so eager to feel you again, I’ve dreamt of you every night. A hundred times I’ve almost returned to you, but I was always too much of a coward…” Getou soliloquized to an unresponsive Nanami.
Mahito watched from a nearby sunbed as Getou’s hips began to thrust, soon slapping forcefully against Nanami’s ass.
The curse didn't move. He awkwardly hugged his own frame in silence.
Nanami’s body was jerked repeatedly with each roll of Getou’s hips, messing up his hair and irritating the side of his face that rubbed against the coarse sand.
“M… Ma…”
Getou’s smile grew wider. He grabbed a fistful of Nanami’s hair and turned his head so that he was entirely facing Mahito.
“Are you calling for your mother or for him?”
Suddenly, Mahito saw red. He pushed himself off the sunbed and pounced, hands overflowing with cursed energy and aiming for Getou’s chest.
Getou didn’t move. He let Mahito touch him, giving the curse a split second to realize he had effortlessly protected his soul before taking hold of Mahito’s wrist.
He didn’t even need to pull out of Nanami.
As soon as Getou’s hand was on him, Mahito felt the most alien, excruciating pain he had ever experienced. It was like his soul was peeled away from his body, like every last bone of his was ground to dust; it was the first time he truly felt death.
His fingers, then his hand and his wrist bent onto themselves, spiraling towards the center of Getou’s palm. A bloodcurdling scream tore through Mahito’s throat.
“Foolish curse,” Getou muttered before flinging Mahito across the beach. The curse landed heavily and laid still.
When Getou looked down, Nanami was staring at him.
He seemed to have all but forgotten about Mahito, instead looking up at Getou with glassy, unfocused, and adoring eyes. It took a moment for Getou to figure out the reason behind the sudden change.
“Do you believe me now?” He said softly, holding Nanami’s face in his hand as he could hardly keep it upright on his own. “How many other people do you know with this technique?”
“Su… gu…” Nanami slurred, leaning into Getou’s touch and relaxing under him.
“That’s right, my Kento. You’re safe with me.” Getou said, turning Nanami’s head the other way before lowering it onto the sand and resuming the fucking.
Mahito’s terrified whimpers rose from behind Nanami, but his brain didn’t register them anymore. His eyes were fixated on the coming and going of the waves as Getou’s hips moved back and forth.
It wasn’t so bad.
He was on a beach with the love of his life.
Even as Getou pulled out and came on his back, even as he stood over him and warm piss mixed with the cooling cum, even with Mahito crying in the distance, Nanami was content.
“I… love… you…” He croaked, his peaceful smile slowly falling as he slipped into complete unconsciousness.
A single tear rolled down Getou’s cheek, quickly wiped away with the back of his thumb.
“Huh. Weird.”
