It was no secret that Seongje loved video games, it was also no secret that he adored Juntae, maybe even more than said video games.
Seongje was busy grinding League of Legends, he had originally planned to play only a few hours but between getting too invested and having a clingy little teenager snuggled to his chest already asleep. He was cute in this state and Seongje loved nothing more than when Juntae was acting cute and clingy.
The word ‘Victory’ flashed across the screen and he took that moment to look over at Juntae. His cheek was squished into Seongje’s shoulder and his mouth hung slightly open, a thin line of dribble hanging from the corner of his mouth.
He could vaguely hear shooting and chaos, including his teammates shouting down his headset but he had much more important things to concentrate on at that moment.
He always felt bad when his gaming sessions went on longer than normal, he had definitely cut down since he and Juntae had started dating but he still came at least 3 times a week and it wasn't unusual for Juntae to be with him. He tried to control himself when he was with him but sometimes he lost track of time and ran into the night.
This was another one of those occasions, Seongje hadn't been here in nearly two weeks and now he felt like he was very far behind everyone else and he never liked being behind, he had to be the best and highest level otherwise he felt like he wasn't any good at anything.
He didn't mean to drag Juntae into his own problems but when his friends had cancelled their weekly meeting because they were all busy so Juntae had asked to tag along with him and who was Seongje to decline the request.
Now he was 5 levels ahead of everyone else and had a sleeping teenager in his lap. Luckily, everyone else had already left and it was only him and Juntae left, he’d even been left with the key to lock up, that's how much time had run away from him.
He was debating whether or not to play another game or wake up Juntae and head home together. The only bonus of having absent parents was that plans never had to be set in stone, if he wanted to bring Juntae home at 11 o clock then he could without any questions.
He slowly took off his headset and stood up from his chair to turn off the monitor and head out, it was unfair to keep Juntae here when he was asleep and obviously tired. He might be new to the whole relationship thing but he knew that putting your partner first was non negotiable.
He locked up and left the key behind the plant pot, sending a quick message to the manager to tell him and then heading home with Juntae still bundled in his arms. It was colder than it had been earlier and a certain boy was occupying his orange windbreaker since Juntae had been freezing earlier, the air conditioning was always super high because it was otherwise too hot with all the computers running.
Luckily, Seongje’s house was closer than Juntae’s, not that it mattered much since they both had absent parents so whoever's house they ended up in would be fine. However, Juntae had practically moved into Seongje’s house since it was bigger and more spacious and half his stuff was already there. The only time he ever was at his own place was if his friends wanted to hang out there or his parents were home as they didn't know about Seongje.
Juntae wasn’t heavy by any means but he wasn't exactly light either, Seongje wasn't complaining he’d rather carry Juntae everywhere than ever have the feeling of being alone and isolated. Seongje might have always been a popular kid but that doesn't mean he had lots of friends, he’d always been jealous of Juntae and his group of friends but now he was semi part of it.
He knew he would never fully be integrated into the group given his past with everyone but he no longer felt like he was alone in this world. Since his parents had left, he had never had any friends and had always prided himself on being top dog.
It wasn't until he realised how much he adored Juntae that he knew all he wanted was a sweet, innocent boy that could love him no matter his flaws and imperfections. He was more surprised when Juntae shared his feelings, even more so when he was suddenly being invited to the group hangouts.
Surprisingly, he and Baku had made a somewhat friendship, not that it would ever compete with what the others had with him but they somewhat related to each other more than they realised.
They both put on a strong front but in reality they were both quite mushy and emotional. They both also carried a fair amount of guilt about the trauma that Baekjin had endured after the final battle, the beating he had taken from the boss which had nearly finished him off and then he had to fake his death and go into hiding for several months. Seongje can only imagine how lonely that felt.
Baku had called Seongje on a number of occasions in tears having woken up from a nightmare that his decisions had killed the only man he had and would ever love. They would spend the rest of the night talking and just trying to hate themselves a little less. Seongje hadn't felt so seen and accepted.
“Geum.” He heard a murmur from the boy that was resting against his shoulder. He scoffed slightly at the sound of his first name being used, he would chalk it down to his boyfriend being tired and not something that he would have to get used to.
“I’ve got you, Junnie.” Seongje murmured back planting a light kiss in his hair and tightening his grip on the boy, he felt Juntae smile against him and he knew the nickname had done the trick to settle the boy again. It was cold even though he had the windbreaker on, it was still freezing and the noises whistling in the noise can’t be helping Juntae stay calm.
“I love you.” Juntae mumbled as sleep slowly took over again, Seongje smiled softly at how adorable he was and how lucky he was that Juntae had actually chosen him. He would never understand why or how he deserved it but now he had him he would never let him go.
“I love you Junnie.”
