Chapter Text
Ryouta Kise was far beyond simply popular. He was eccentric, lovable, energetic, chronically online, and most importantly for his fangirls, a model. Dashing and handsome beyond belief, your typical idol. It was always a mystery as to whether he was dating anyone; at any given point in time, there seemed to be at least 4 different people claiming to be his one and only 'true' lover. All of these proved to be false leads, either attention-seeking narcissists, stalkers, or just plain delusional.
Ryouta embodied the expression to wear one's heart on one's sleeves. Anyone who even briefly encountered him before could tell u as such. The teen has no issue ranting about any given topic for hours, whether that be his most recent modelling shoot, some cute barista at a café, or, of course, his dear friends, the Generation of Miracles. And quite recently, the topic on Kaijou’s mind was... what exactly was Ryouta's relationship status? More specifically, his relationship with a certain pale blue-haired teen from Seirin.
Despite Ryouta's openness about his feelings and crushes over fictional characters and idols alike, it was a mystery about the teen's own romantic life. Perhaps it was a fallacy to believe Kise Ryotua was taken. If he were dating, it would cause an uproar. Surely, there would have been photos, leaked messages spread across the school and social media alike. Yet, alas there was none. Not a single scandal that held any substance. However, the notion that Ryouta Kise, the Ryotua Kise, the same one with hundreds of fangirls, millions of followers, and at least 20 girls and guys swarming around him at all times, was single. It was preposterous to suggest out loud. So, needless to say, when Ryouta became just a tiny bit obsessive over a certain player from Seirin, the heads of Kaijo began to turn. And thus a scandal was born.
The doors to Kaijo's gym smashed open, the peaceful chatter and conversation now flooded with the scream of none other than their ace.
" Kasamatsuuuu sempaiiii. " Ryotua's voice was far too energetic for the Monday afternoon that it was. The captain sighed heavily, already fighting off a migraine, as the ace sped towards him at a rapid speed.
After nearly crashing into Kasamatsu. Ryouta proceeded to bombard Yukio with updates of his life that Yukio had missed out on in the 2 days of them not seeing each other. The conversation was mainly one-sided in terms of speech itself; however, Kasamatsu always made an effort to indulge Ryouta's ramblings ( to a point ) Though he would never admit it to Ryouta, Kasamatsu somewhat enjoyed the others' company. Ryouta was a brat, but, unfortunately, since joining Kaijo, he was now Kasamatsu's brat to deal with. The elder had grown somewhat attached to him, much to Yukio's own regret.
Kasamatsu barely had a moment to breathe before another notification chimed on Ryotua's phone, causing the blonde to full-on jump. Yuiko wisely ducked back; otherwise, the blonde would have clung to him like a startled koala.
" Sempaiiiiii, look!!! " The blonde practicaly screamed, only muffled by the phone now shoved into his face. Kasamatsu groaned softly, leaning back further against the wall, in hopes of not getting blinded by the screen's light.
" My Kurokochii posted his lunch!!!!, isn't it sooo cute susuuu. " The blonde was practically vibrating. " sempaiii look at how he sips his teaaa. I'm dying, he’s too precious!!! "
In the two seconds that Ryouta took to breathe, he somehow managed to leave around seven different comments and strings of emojis on the post, screenshots of each, and downloaded one of the pictures to his Pinterest board...
Kasamatsu pinched the bridge of his nose. They hadn't even started practice, and his migraine was intensifying. Though he found himself smiling ever so slightly at Ryouta's antics. That smile, however, didn't last long because, as if god himself hated him, another notification blessed Ryotua's phone.
" ArHhHHhHh, sempaiii, he changed his pfp againnnn. How does he always match my favourite colors? " The blonde's volume had risen again, causing another series of groans throughout the gym. " I SWEARRR, it's like he's thinking about me!!! " Another gasp left Ryouta. "Oh my god.. sempai, I should match with himmmm. I got these cute matching yellow and blue crop tops from my last modelling shootttttt, I should force him to match with meeee susuuu "
It was at that very moment that Kasamatsu had hit that point I previously stated.
"Oi, you're wasting time, dumbass. " He then proceeded to kick the blonde. Cousing a dramatic reaction from Ryouta, who fell backwards with a scream. Sprawled out on the gym floor. Arm over his head like it was a damn modelling shoot.
" Arhhhh Itaiiiii. Seimpaiiiiii's so mean susuuuu " The blonde sighed again, taking a selfie before getting up. Finally sprinting to get changed into his basketball gear before Kasamatsu could decide he wanted to strike the blonde again.

Ryouta wasn't usually one to skip practice. Sure, he has his modeling shoots, so he dose miss some, but it was never without warning or explanation. He learnt his lesson that hard way the first time he skipped out of practice for a modelling shoot... Ryouta did not want a repeat of that happening again, so ever since, he basically just sent his schedule in the Kaijou team chat. Much to the annoyance of all the other members, who constantly complained that Ryouta just had to be a model, etc.
However, all this wasn't to say he always attended practice... So when the bell rang signifying the end of school, Ryouta dodged his way through the crowd of people. Fangirls trying to catch him before he left school grounds, or follow him to the gym to watch his practice... And let's be honest, they all knew his schedule by heart anyway. Which was how he managed to avoid the mass of them who where allready at Kaijous gym waiting for him there.
Once free from the crowd despite his fear of Kasamatsu, and the over-arching threat he'd be benched next game if he ever found out. Ryouta made the bold decision to skip practice.
The reason for this bold, idiotic move was none other than Kuroko Tetsuya. As most things were with Kise, he had decided that he would rather suffer his sempai's wrath than go another day without seeing his precious Kurokochii.
The blonde snuck out of the gate, humming happily to himself. Carrying a bag of mango sweets and the drink he bought early that morning, specifically " just because Kurokochii might want them." As well as backup sweets and drinks in case Tetsuya rejected the first offerings.
Ryouta was practically glowing on his way to Seirin. However, across the city stood a very angry, very driven Kasamatsu.
Kasamatsu was fuming, more than usual, which was a sight to see. Any more stress and he would have started smoking. So naturally, the team was freaking out. The first years more so, than any other of the years, resulting in them hiding from their beloved captain. Though still managing to be yelled at, as since they were hiding, they weren't exactly practising.
The other members were currently practising, but their eyes kept flickering to their team captain. Muttering among themselves.
"So he's going feral because Kise decided to skip... " sighs Miroyama, " Lucky, he's probably on a date with a hot girl, and I'm stuck here listening to the first years try to hide from Kasamatsu. " As usual, only interested in the girl and the dating aspect of Kise's life.
"Are we sure he doesn't have a shoot today or something?" Kobari adds in trying to figure out a way to calm down Kasamatsu before the captain decides to take it out on the rest of them in practice drills.
"Nope, Kasamatsu already checked his schedule 3 times in the last 10 minutes... and the group chat, " Hayakawa says while shooting a ball into the hoop. "What do you think is gonna happen to Kiseeee. I mean, we all remember the last time he skipped without reason."
Unfortunately, that reminiscing moment was cut short by Kasamatsu grabbing his bag and yelling. "All of you quit talking and more practicing. " Kasamatsu was sweating with rage at this point; it was honestly a miracle he wasn't severely dehydrated with all the fluids he was losing. " I'm getting Kise, that runt isn't skipping practice again."
Just before the first years had time to breathe, at the hopes that they could slack off with their captain off on a wild goose chase for their ace, Kasamatsu called out again. " And dont even think about slaking off, if this floor isent coated in sweat when I'm back, everyones drills are tripiling. " This was then promplty followed by a chorus of groans and a first year crying.
Fortunately, for Kasamatsu, Ryouta had forgotten to turn his location off, even without that, the captain knew Ryouta would be at Seirin. For all of Ryouta's spontaneity, he was easy to predict once you saw the patterns and obsessiveness the blonde had with the smallest Generation of Miracle's member.
It was still a shock to the team when they learnt of Kuroko's role in Teiko. Even more so when Ryouta wouldn't shut up about Kuroko, out of all people, being his basketball mentor. However, the team had grown to admire Kuroko for his unique skills of being able to tolerate and somewhat tame Ryouta. Even more impressively to have dealt with Ryotua for their years at Teiko.
Despite all of this, Kasamatsu couldn't say he was particularly thrilled that Kuroko's charm, if you could even call it that, had led to their ace skipping practice.
Kasamatsu couldn't even tell whether he was more or less pissed off that Ryouta hadn't bothered to make up an excuse as to why he was missing from practice. Nevertheless, he was pissed and going to Seirin to drag their ace back by the ear if he had to. And let's be honest, he was going to have to.
( ˶°ㅁ°) !! - - - - - - LiNe - - - - - - !! (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)
Ryouta, oblivious to the current situation happening at Kaijo, was glowing. His perfect posture and stylish walk screamed model. A bright smile lit up on his face as he reached Seirin's gates. He all but skipped his way to the gym, humming some romance song. ( Most likely... Love sick by Laufey )
Inside Seirin, they were all midway though practice. Kagami, looking like he just swam a mile, soaking the floor as Hyuga yelled that he was responsible for mopping it all up afterwards. Tetsuay, on the other hand, was on his break resting on the benches, dabing his neck with a fresh towel Riko handed him. "Arigato Rika san."
Unfortunately, when you are the ex-phantom member of the Generation of Miracles, nothing peaceful ever lasts. And with a dramatic scream, Ryotua made his equally dramatic entrance. For the second time that day, there was a choir of groans across the gym in direct relation to Ryotua's antics.
" Kurokochiii!!! " In the blonde’s head, there were about 4 extra sentences of words he would also like to scream, such as ‘your favorite protege has graced u with their presence’, and something along the lines of ‘please don't reject me’. To Ryouta’s credit, he was pretty proud of himself for managing to restrain his entrance to a single word. Not everyone else shared that same sentiment, unfortunately.
Looking around the gym, Ryouta made an effort to wink at Kagami, who looked seconds away from crashing out and punching Ryouta in the face. Which becomes a recurring reaction for Kagami in the near future when dealing with the Generation of Miracles. The other Seirin players looks where less violent. Ranging from curiosity to plain annoyance at the teens' arrival. Kise's eyes finally settled on a certain bluenet, granted it took a while. Even with his years of experience, spotting his mentor had always been a challenge he had yet to overcome.
Within the blink of an eye, the copycat player was sprawled across the bench head in Kuroko's lap. Smiling up to him as if Kuroko had raised the stars themselves. "Kurokochiiii, I missed uuu susuuuu." The blonde's smile, despite being contagious, was more of an infectious disease to Tetsuya as he fought to keep his composed blank face, despite the golden retriever currently on his lap. " It's been too longggg. I thought my heart would break from the separation. It's pure torture Kurokochii."
"I missed u too, Kise-kun," Kuroko says, his soft voice floating into Ryouta's ears like an angelic blessing. As u can imagine, Ryouta took this one sense as his gospel and sent him down another obsessive rant.
Ryotua gasped," u missed me, Kurokochiiii. "A girl like squeal left Ryotua's mouth as the blonde completely let go of any attachment to his male dignity and pride. Kise removed himself from Kuroko's lap to rummage through his bag. Pulling out the collection of snacks and drinks for Tetsuya to choose from. " I got u snackkkkks. u must be hungry from practice."
"That's very thoughtful of you, Kise-kun. " Tetsuya gladly chose a pack of mango gummys along with a melon soda. Opening the packet before humming. "Doesn't Kise-kun also have practice today? " Kuroko's soft voice developed a hint of suspicion and curiosity. "Did Kasamatsu san let u all finish early?"
As if the sheer mention of the Kaijo captain had caused a flashback so severe and traumatizing, Ryouta stuttered out a laugh that sounded so fake it was painful.
"Of course, Kurokochiii, don't worry about it, " The blonde lied, trying to move on from the situation and get to cuddling his best friend. Tetsuay, on the other hand, saw right through it.
"Lying doesn't suit you, Kise-kun. " Kuroko's head turned to the opposite side of the gym, suddenly finding the walls very interesting. Despite the very obvious attempt to manipulate Ryouta into telling the truth... Ryouta completely fell for it.
" WaHhHhhHhH " Ryouta's eyes turned glassy, tears pouring out in buckets. "My kurokochii hates meee, I'm sorrryyy susuuuu "
The rest of Seirin has chosen to continue ignoring the Kaijo Ace's antics. However, Kagami seemed to be foaming at the mouth, so Teppie and Hyuga decided to stand a little closer to their ace. Just in case they needed to restrain him in the event he attempted to attack the blonde.
"What did Kise-Kun do? " Tetsuya said, sounding very much like a preschool teacher, trying to teach a moral lesson to a toddler. It, of course, just ended in tears and a very dramatic confession.
"It's not my fault, Kurokochii, I haven't seen u in a week. What was I supposed to do? " The blonde's tears only slowed down enough for Ryouta to see Kuroko's frigting glare, causing the blonde to jump a little. Realizing he can't dodge the question with excuses and apologies,
( his former mentor was far too stubborn for that. )
" I skipped practice to see Kurokochii... " The blonde whispered like a disobedient puppy confessing his sins.
The shadow let out a sigh before rubbing circles along the blonde's back. " As long as Kise-kun apologizes to his sempai... properly. and buys me a vanilla milkshake, I can forgive him. " Ryouta looked up at the shadow with the joy and hope of a child on Christmas morning waking up ridiculously early to open their stockings.
" majiii, Kurokochii will forgive meeee " Ryouta spun round and lifted the bluenete of the ground, squeezing Tetsuya with an abserd amount of strength. In another life, the two could be ballet partners.
The bluenet hummed as Ryouta set him down with a smile. It took an embarrassing amount of strength and will for Tetsuya not to blush at the sight. However, heonce again was far too stubborn to let go of his dignity and play into Ryouta's ego.
Despite all his stubbornness, Tetsuya still couldn't hide the dizziness in his step as he swayed on his feet. Remembering the reason he was on the bench in the first place. Kise, seizing the opportunity, lay Tetsuya down on the bench, reversing their roles and planting the bluenet's head on his lap instead. The blonde stared at Kuroko fondly, before realizing how creepy he must look and looking up towards the practicing Seirin team.
However, the domestic moment didn't last long as Ryouta's phone suddenly started buzzing. The ace picked up his phone, already dreading seeing the contact.. Kasamatsu.
The blonde was debating whether or not to pick up. On one hand, he could ignore it, continue cuddling with his beloved Kurokochiii, in happy ignorant bliss of what was the inevitable possibility of his sempai's rage. Or pick up the call, be screamed at, and disrupted Kurokochiis rest... Now the correct option did seem obvious however, that luxury was never granted, as seconds later loud stopping could be heard from the entrance of the gym.
"Kise-kun, please don't tell me that's your captain." Sighed Kuroko, honestly more annoyed that his rest was disrupted than worried for Ryouta's health and safety. The blonde gasped at the tone in Tetsuya's voice, feeling betrayed.
"How heartless can u be, Kurokochiii. I'm in fear for my life susuu " The blonde, although worried, the crippling fear had yet to set in. That delight was saved for approximately 5 seconds later.
Kasamatsu stormed into the gym, his usual polite nature nowhere to be seen as he disregarded all the Seirin members. Who were now watching the scene unfold like a drama series or someone's bad fanfiction.
This is when said crippling fear and horror made its way into Ryouta's bloodstream. The ace jumped up fully, causing Tetsuya to sit up and rub his temple. Being the coward Ryotua was, he hid behind Tetsuya. Shivering as his captain made a beeline to his location.
Ryouta had gripped his arms around Tetsuya's waist and tried to bury his face in Tetsuya's hair, in an attempt to avoid Kasamatsu's death glare. During all of this, Kagami's rabid rage had turned into mild amusement for the blondes suffering. Along with a slight hint of rage still present for the blonde's current obsession with his light.
" What was that, Ryouta? " Kasamatsu's voice was rough, far more terrifying than the latter's own captain. Kagami almost had a flicker of remorse for the blonde. Before Ryotua let out a wimper and buried himself deeper into Tetsuya's chest, and somehow that remorse vanished.
Without context, the scene was captivating, something to invest in. The type of event you couldn't take your eyes off in anticipation and amusement. With context, however, everyone was simply ayoyyed at the blonde. silently rooting for Kasamatsu. Maybe anyoyed was an understatement.
None of them could truthfully deny they were protective over their phantom player, and seeing Ryotua buried into Kurokos' neck wasn't exactly making them at ease. Especially Kagami, however, with the current development of the situation, their ace was enjoying it far too much. Tepei had attempted to slap Kagami to try and get him to knock his smirk off. Unsurprisingly, it was a failure, and Kagami's grin only grew to a disturbing amount.
Ryouta’s trembling had increased rapidly to the point that Tetsuya felt pity for the blonde. At the same time, Tetsuya was proud that Ryouta had found someone like Kasamatsu to keep him in check. After all, despite Seijirou's authority, the blonde needed constant supervision, something he had lost after Teiko when Seijirou, along with the rest of the generation of miracles, all moved to their separate schools.
" Se-sempaiiii," Ryotua muttered, his voice trembling with every syllable. Somehow still retaining his bubbly energy now laced with fear and shyness. " I-I can explain - Really. " Ryotua's voice had risen maybe 2 octaves throughout his last sentence. The blonde shaking more so from fear than guilt for his actions.
" ExPLaIN?!! " Kasmatsu was furious at this point. If he hadn't taken up smoking yet, he sure as hell was considering it now.
" You skipped practice, with no excuse or warning!!! "
" You didn't even text, which is saying something, considering we have to mute you half the time, just to get u to shut up on the group chat. Do u even know how many of your fangirls showed up to practice looking for your stupid ass!? "
Kasamatsu only paused to look at Ryouta and take a breath before continuing, " And this is where u were, " Pointing furiously at Ryouta like he was personally responsible for all of Kasamatsu's problems in life. " CuDdliNG "
Kasamatsu got closer and forcefully yanked Ryouta by the collar away from Tetsuya, causing the blonde to yelp in pain. Kasmatasu in response only tightened his grip, now pinching Ryouta's ear as he yelled. "You have no respect for your elders, brat." Ryouta let out a yelp of pain again, tears streaming down his cheeks.
"You're benched for the next game, and don't even think for a second you're off easy. Your training has tripled. I expect you in the gym after school daily for the next week, 2 if ur slacking. And you better not use your modeling as an excuse. " Kasamasu's voice was harsh, carrying a weight of authority; however, the previous fury and pure rage had dimmed, even if only slightly.
Throughout all of this, Kagami's smile had only continued to increase. Serin's ace was grinning ear to ear, arms crossed smugly like Christmas had come early.
"Serves you right, Pretty Boy, " Kagami muttered, loud enough for Kise to hear. Riko then punched Kagami in the back of the head to get him to shut up. Even Kuroko gave him an unimpressed look, to which Kagami tch'ed at and turned his head.
Ryouta flinched at both Kagami's and his sempai's words. His voice broke as he tried to explain himself, " I coulden't help ittt!!! " The blonde was out of breath and sounded desperate, "I missed my Kurokochii too much!!!. Practice felt empty without him. "
Tetsuya, during all of this, let out an exsapherated sigh, both at his ace's antics and Ryouta's. " Kise-kun is exaggerating."
Ryouta let out a sharp gasp, " How dare u, Kurokochiii, I missed u so muchhh, we never get to hang out just the 2 of us anymoreeee. " The blonde pouted.
Ryouta managed to wiggle free from Kasamatsu's hold, as the elder let out a sigh. Moving his hands to his temple, nursing his migraine.
The blonde immediately jumped back to Tetsuya, crying about how he was abused at Kaijo. Ryouta's clinginess was almost parasitic, as the ace latched itself onto Kuroko once again. The single action cousing the Seirin team to once again groan.
Though they couldn't help but notice the intimacy in the gesture. The Seirin players couldent overlook or ignore the fact that Kuroko, their phantom player, made no effort to detach himself from the blonde. If anything, Kuroko looked content, calm, peaceful. Quite frankly, it was disturbing to watch, knowing the bluenett’s usual habits on physical touch.
Kagami's rage was already simmering back. To the point that half the team was honestly just sick of his actions and attitude. " Oi, Kise, get your hands off Kuroko. "
The ace stomped forward, yanking Ryouta off his shadow. Proceeding to sling an arm around Tetsuya's shoulders, Like a protective something???. No one really knew whether it was protectiveness out of jealousy, envy, annoyance. Or maybe even just a dislike for the blonde, who knows. Dispite the reason, the tension between the two aces was palpable.
Kuroko, sensing the tension, was honestly more annoyed at the situation than anything else, " Kagami-kun, let go, you're being rude to Kise-kun."
Kagami's defence was rapid, his words jumbled and muffled against each other. Barely being able to make a string of coherence with his words without stuttering violently. The end result was simply a stringing of i-i, uh-it's, before the red-haired ace gave up and sulked.
Ryouta, seizing the opportunity, tried to jump onto his mentor again before Kuroko stopped him, with a glare. " And you, Kise-kun, are going to apologize to Kasamatsu san properly. As well as to Seirin for interrupting our practice. "
For a moment, it seemed as if Ryouta would protest, before he closed his mouth and spun round to face Kasamatsu, bowing. " I'm sorry, sempai, I won't skip practice for my Kurokochii again. If I do, I will text u in advance that I require Kurokochi's emotional support. " The captain huffed in response, trying to hide his amusement though his hand.
Ryouta then turned to Seirin, giving another P.R aproved apologigetic response. The team could clearly tell was taught to him throughout his modeling career. Almost immediately after finishing his apology, the blonde spun round to Kuroko once again. As if nothing had happened in the last 5 minutes, whatsoever.
Ryouta lied down on the bench, daydreaming, and mentally cataloguing the apology back into place. Pulling out instead his bucket of random conversation topics. Kuroko sighed, well awear of the blonde's thought process. He took another sip of water before greeting Kasamatsu properly. "Good afternoon, Kasamatsu san, I apoligize for Ryouta's behaviour. Usually he is better at managing his emotional attachments."
Kasamatsu laughed," I doubt that, Kuroko, good afternoon to you too." The elder beamed with pride; he always enjoyed the bluenete's presence. It had a certain element to it. Perhaps, Ryouta's constant yapping and obsession with Kuroko had worn off on him.
Ryouta has since regained his strength and was ready to dive into his next conversation of rapid speech. Filled with 6 different topics not even remotely related to each other. His speech, far beyond the normal human capabilities or what could be considered normal.
He was currently curled up against Tetsuya again. In a position that anyone caught in would be immediately turned red and die of embarrassment. Somehow, the conversation had circled back to Ryouta's fangirls. Mainly this included him complaining how half of them would probably hunt down any romantic partner he had if they found out he was dating someone.
This mentioning of romance and fangirls sparked a little, tiny, thought in everyones minds about the true nature of the blond and bluenets' relationship. Not enough to start outright debates, but more so just a flicker of curiosity and scepticism.
It most certainly didn't help the accusations when Ryouta paused and stared Tetsuay right in the eyes. Their faces inches apart, only for him to pluck a stray eyelash from Tetsuay's cheek...
The more any of the serin team thought about it, or just Kasamatsu himself, their relationship and behaviour weren't typical of any friendship whatsoever. The obsession over all of Tetsuya's social media, how the blonde could talk for hours about Tetsuya's hair, his eyes, his stare, his habits, it was endless. Not mentioning how it was completely natural for the ace to do so.
The blonde's insistent need to be wrapped around the smaller teen at all times was similar to an addict, as if the very thought of the phantom player was a drug. Even more so in its purest form when in physical contact with him. Something Ryouta didn't mind being hopelessly addicted to. With that comparison, the blondes' need to be with Tetsuya was simply him being in withdrawal. Perhaps the years spent with Tetsuya, being around him every day, at every moment, had led to a form of need. With their contact now reduce significantly, the change was enough to send the blonde into withdrawal. If that truly was the case, Kasamatsu couldn't blame him, well, maybe he could blame Ryouta for being just a bit pathetic about the whole thing.
Regardless, the relationship between the 2 was far from normal. In a way where no one could quite figure out what it was. Needless to say, all of the questioning and wondering had taken up everyone's mind. To Kasamatsu, who was already nursing a migraine, he was fed up with being forced to think deeply about something he would rather just forget.
With a grunt, Kasamatsu regained his composure, "Kise." His voice was firm with the added weight of a single father of too many kids.
Ryouta stumbled slightly over his last words before his eyes snapped to Kasamatsu in query. Waiting for Kasamatsu to continue before responding. Tetsuya sat, leaning against Ryouta with a similar hum of acknowledgment.
"Where going back to Kaijo. You have a team to practice with, and I need to figure out if I have to kill them for slaking off, like a certain someone else has been doing. " His last words sounding more like a threat than anything else. His eyes bore deeply into Ryouta's skull, causing the blonde to wince.
“Sempai is scary susuuu,” Ryouta mumbled, finally detaching himself from Tetsuya. He stared at Tetsuya for a second, then flicked a look at Kasamatsu. — Then, impossibly, bounced back to Tetsuya with the energy of a child caught in a sugar rush or just someone on cocaine. Tetsuya was just preparing to stand and bid them goodbye, Kasamatsu beside him, when Ryouta decided to disregard all shame and self-control.
With no hesitation, Kaijo’s Ace launched forward, face inches away from Tetsuya in a second. In another second, Kise pressed a quick, confident kiss to Kuroko. The aces lavender vanilla lip gloss coats the other's skin. A blink and you miss it graze, soft and entirely shameless. Kise’s fingers lingered a heartbeat longer as if memorising the warmth. Then he straightened up, the model flipping his expression on cue.
"Bye bye, minaaasann !!! " The blonde's voice echoed in the grym. His voice slipping into the bright, practiced tone he used exclusivly for camaras and when surrounded by fangirls. Of course it wouldn't be Ryouta without doing a little extra. The ace waved his hands, flashed a grin, and lastly threw his signature wink at the horror frozen, Seirin players, like it was a performance. " Tetsuyachiii, I’ll text, love u!! " He tossed a final theatrical kiss over his shoulder for good measure, as Kasamatsu dragged him out with a grunt.
Kuroko's face - normally placid, blank, unreadable, now flushed, an embarrassing, impossible red. Blush crept up his neck and spilled from his ears. He made a tiny, instinctive movement, his hand rising to cover the location of where Kise had so abrasively kissed him.
Almost sheepishly, Tetsuya lowered his hand once again. useing misdirection in hopes of covering up his shame and embarrassment. His posture softened, his eyes flickered elsewhere. He diverted the room's attention by speaking in that airy, blunt tone that has silenced arguments and debates alike. "Good luck with practice, Ryouta-kun."
The graceful deflection did more than hide his embarrassment; it left the air around the gym oddly comfortable. Well, it would have been; however, the silence that followed Kise’s exit was loud with questions and a certain redhead's mood. Kagami has since vanished, a trail of tension lingering from the locker rooms as to where he had resided. The rest of Seirin were in a much different shape.
Hyuga hissed between his teeth. The events replaying in his mind rapidly. "What the hell was that? "
Izuki squeaked. Clearly enjoying the entire situation. " Did he just - KISS HIM? "
A cacophony of whispers and voices rose at once, some shocked, some delighted, some ( cough cough Riko ) more annoyed. It was cutting into their practice time. At least when Ryouta was here; all of them at least pretended to be practicing.
Despite that, all of them were asking the same question.
Kasamatsu gripped the collar of Ryouta's shirt a little harder as he hauled the blonde further out of the building, before Kise could have the change to run back in. Most likely to endlessly thank Tetsuya and create more chaos. " you better pray to every God in existence if you ever think about skipping practice again " He muttered half furious, half exhausted, half questioning Ryouta’s romantic endeavours again.
"And don't think I have forgotten your punishment for skipping," The captain's eyes seemed to be surrounded by a dark entity, causing the blonde to flinch for the millionth time.
As the sound of Kasamatsu's heavy boots faded, the Seirin team was still stunned. Tetsuya's blush had dissolved into a small, almost invisible smile, which the Seirin members did not let go unnoticed. Their gaze all flickered between them with the same incredulous expression.
" ... Are they dating? " the whisper seemed to float around them.
It hung in the air like a fresh rumour.
Worst of all, no one had the answer.
