Work Text:
"say, what do you think about when you look at me from the corridors?"
harry was not given the chance to speak any further after finishing his question, with draco chasing his mouth and trapping it firmly with his own. he's pushed back against the wall with his tie tightly pulled by draco's grip, heavy puffs of breath coming from both of them.
"spoils the fun if i tell my secrets out loud, no?" draco looks at him under the flutter of his eyelashes, a mischievous glint in his gaze. his eyes are a striking grey, and quite the piercing pair.
"now, that's not fair." harry laughs, hands pressed on draco's waist, brushing his fingers lightly on the skin. "i would like to know what you think about me."
"believe me, potter – there is nothing else on my mind."
clicking footsteps rang across the hallways, and low murmurs could be heard from the crowds of students that surrounded them. their eyes are all fixated on the familiar green color of the robes harry potter was currently wearing, something that was not aligned with the house he is a part of.
harry potter was, no doubt, wearing a slytherin's uniform.
*
earlier that morning, he had woken up from a good night’s sleep, a detail that he had greatly treasured as he did not have the best of sleeping habits. after putting on his eyeglasses, he walked over to his case to grab his robes for class, but abruptly stopped on his tracks at what he saw before him when he opened it.
it wasn’t there. none of his clothes that he could wear for class were there. nothing but a uniform with green fabric laid there, which definitely belonged to a particular house that was not his own. it was as if it was calling to him, a trap waiting to pin down its mouse. what the fuck–
eyes darting around, he quickly scrambled around the room in hopes of finding them possibly sprawled under one of the beds, or stuck on some corner. to his dismay, they had no plan of popping up at all. “where the hell are they–”
ron suddenly barged inside, frightening the groggy boy. “hey, we’re gonna be late. hurry up.”
“about that. . .” harry scratched the top of his head, exhaling in resignation. “my clothes are missing.”
*
the boy mentally facepalmed, and he almost did it literally when he could hear that there were others who giggled as well. he tried to speed up his pace as he walked, ron and hermione not too far off behind him as they shot him with concerned looks.
"don't mind them, harry. just another dumb prank for them to gossip about," ron patted his back, letting out a sigh. "whoever the stupid git is that did this to you has some guts though."
"guess there's no need for the process of elimination," hermione sneaks a glance towards some of the slytherin students they passed by. they all snickered after noticing harry's clothes, eliciting an awkward cough from the boy.
draco's hand held onto the back of harry's neck, humming as the kiss deepened. harry gladly reciprocated the intensity, their bodies flush against one another, warm and solid.
his other hand loosens on harry's necktie and drifts to the fabric atop his collarbone, one eye opening to peek down. the classic gryffindor red color, complementing the one spread out on harry's cheeks and neck.
"it's such a shame you were sorted into gryffindor. although, you do look lovely in red." draco comments, tangling the fabric in his fingers. "even begging: not slytherin, not slytherin. was it that dreadful of an option to you?”
"didn’t know you heard that. well, you didn't make the best impression at our first year, after all."
draco's eyes roll at this, and bites down on harry's lip in retaliation – causing a startled gasp from the latter.
"i’ll be fine as long as i get them back," harry shakes his hand in assurance. "nothing harmless, better than what we usually go through. i might even be a tad grateful."
his two best friends laugh, nodding in agreement. they have experienced quite a lot the past years, something that has become normal for the golden trio, but something that should probably not be encouraged for future “golden trio's” or any wizarding student, for that matter.
"that's a valid sentiment, yeah," ron shrugs. "anyway, we better dash. i don't want to be murdered in broad daylight by professor snape today—"
"that hit a nerve, malfoy?" harry smiles, whispering the words on draco's jaw, making him shiver.
"well, aren't you bloody clever?" he replied, but couldn't find it in himself to throw another snarky remark, embarrassingly distracted by the trail of kisses harry was leaving on his right ear down to his neck. the boy's hands tightened on his hips while he did so, as if he had carefully planned for draco to die in such bliss.
his hands, draco thought, god, his damn hands.
"i– i had just– merlin. i just wanted to ask if you considered how you might look like in green." draco could barely finish, his voice shaking in between the words.
harry's eyes pointed up curiously.
as soon as they got to the doorway, harry, ron, and hermione quickly scrambled inside the classroom and occupied the nearest vacant seats. the students’ heads immediately whipped to their direction, along with snape’s, whose head sharply turned as if he had detected danger, or in this case – three students that needed a good talking to.
the three awkwardly squirm from the unwanted attention, and fight the urge to look back at the towering man striding towards their table.
“glad to have you with us, right on the clock. lucky day for you three, little ducklings.” snape scans them one by one, until he finds his stare lingering more on harry, his attire raising an eyebrow. “potter.”
harry flinches at the mention of his name. slowly, he looks up at him, a sheepish expression curling up in his lips. snape, on the other hand, was not at all impressed. “professor.”
“need i remind you again of the institution’s dress code? or perhaps, a change of houses that i was not informed of?” snape asked, running his eyes down harry’s clothes. harry placed a hand over his scarf, gulping nervously. “although, that would not be possible under my supervision.”
“it was just a prank, sir,” harry replied. “my robes were stolen. i didn’t have the time to change.”
“wouldn’t blame you, potter!” interrupting the rigid conversation, a voice shouts from the table to the far right. “it’s flattering, really, that you’ve had a change of mind.”
draco sat from the said spot, an all-knowing smirk on his face, who had clearly enjoyed watching the entire spectacle. his friends laughed and cheered alongside him, raising their arms and pulling on the material as a teasing gesture of showing off their robes to harry.
hermione and ron glared at him after hearing the comment, but draco could care less.
harry had to stop himself from looking.
“in green, hm?” harry repeated. “why do you ask?”
“it would be a delightful sight. harry potter, in a slytherin’s clothes. everyone would be talking about it for days,” draco chuckles. “but, let’s just say…”
“it’s like lipstick on your collar. hands off. you know what i mean?”
harry halted in response, and immediately blushed at the thought, attempting to hide himself behind his hand as a last resort to saving his dignity. his pupils seem to have dilated slightly, and well, he had been extremely caught off guard by the intimacy of it.
draco, at a loss for words with what he just witnessed, pulled him closer in haste, again. he crashes like an ocean wave whenever he’s around the boy, and harry willingly drinks it all down, every drop.
“i’ll excuse you this time, potter,” snape uttered, holding the bridge of his nose in exhaustion. “assure that you are able to retrieve your robes within the day. points will be deducted from gryffindor if i see you once more in improper attire.”
harry nodded. “will do, sir.”
“right. let’s proceed with where we left off in the previous session. turn to page 463. . .”
a hush falls upon the class, with the students now focused on the lecture – opening the book to skim through the text, having their quill in hand, or rummaging through their bag for something. hermione does the same, while ron runs a hand through his hair as he opens his book, relieved that snape didn’t humiliate them that much.
harry lets out a sigh he didn’t realize he had been holding in, and with a subtle wave of his hand, makes his book open to the specific page. he dares to take a glance toward his right, something in his gut telling that someone’s attention was still on him.
confirming his guess, draco was indeed staring at him with his chin planted on his palm. any trace of a smirk was long gone, and he looked like he was in deep thought. a hint of a playful smile danced on the corners of his mouth when he saw harry was looking his way, all cheeky and much satisfied.
“guilty.”
of fucking course.

later that night, he would return to the dorm holding his missing robes, with dark purple on his collarbone, grey eyes glowing in his mind, and the baffled splutter of a ginger.
