Chapter Text
Jin stared in disbelief at the narrow object in his sweaty hands. His dark brown eyes glazed over, and his breath caught in his throat for a moment before he began to breathe tremulously again.
This couldn't possibly be true. It had to be a mistake.
Wordlessly and trembling, he set the test aside and searched the packaging for the description. A plus meant positive, and a minus meant negative. That was quite clear and hardly ambiguous.
Jin picked up the test again and stared angrily at the plus sign.
How could this be possible? They had always been so careful!
He took a deep breath and thought about how it could have happened. During Namjoon's rut? Or when they slept together after that interview? Or was it even earlier?
Regardless of when it happened, it made Jin nervous.
Who should he tell? Should he tell Namjoon? How would it affect his career or the others' careers?
When he came out as an omega, the important people at HYBE took it well. Even after it became public knowledge, hardly anyone said anything negative about him, Taehyung, or Jimin, who came out later. Fortunately, HYBE was more tolerant than other companies. But how would they react to a pregnancy? What if they forced him to have an abortion?
Jin had wanted a family of his own all his life. When his brother and his wife had children, he decided that he would have a family someday, too. Someday, not now.
Even though he wanted a puppy of his own, especially with his alpha, Joon, now was simply not the right time.
What should I do?

At dinner, Jin tried to act normal. He laughed with the others and listened attentively to their stories. Still, it felt strange and different to him.
That summed it up nicely. It was strange. The others noticed that something was wrong, too. Jin was sure of that.
Jimin sought his attention and closeness. He insisted on sitting next to the oldest omega that evening. Taehyung also looked at him a lot. The alphas in the group remained calm and didn't seem to notice any change. Jungkook, their youngest alpha, was the only one who looked a little lost and glanced at Jin with concern.
Had his scent changed? Probably, but not enough to put the other two alphas on alert. Namjoon and Yoongi chatted quietly and neither gave him a strange look.
Everything was the same as usual, except that Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook were acting weird.
During the meal, Jin gathered his thoughts. He needed to make an appointment with his omega specialist. Then, he would have to tell his manager about it; otherwise, he would just go there alone.
His gaze fell briefly on Namjoon, who was sitting across from him with Yoongi. How would Namjoon react? Would he hate him? Did he think he was a stupid, inferior omega? No, he shook the thought off almost immediately. Namjoon wasn't like that.
But when would he tell Joon? He had been busy lately—another strike against having a child. He often came home late. Jin didn't even know why he was there that morning.
But he didn't question it. Honestly, he was happy his Alpha was home. At least that way, he could calm his thoughts. Jin tried, at least.
After dinner, they decided to have a movie night to end the evening. It was Jimin's turn to choose the movie, so they all had to watch The Notebook. However, the word "all" was a lie since Yoongi fell asleep, Hobi played on his phone, and Jungkook "secretly" made out with Tae. Jimin, sitting between Jin and Yoongi; Jin; and Namjoon, with his arm around Jin, were the only ones who actually watched the movie. So, everything was as usual.
At some point, after the movie had been playing for about two-thirds of its length, Joon suddenly leaned down toward Jin and absentmindedly sniffed his scent glands. Jin flinched, startled.
His thoughts raced. Namjoon couldn't possibly be in heat. His last heat had been a month ago, and since Jin was pregnant, Joon shouldn't go into heat again until the baby was born.
Born. Jin was already wondering what it would be like when the baby arrived. Why? Wouldn't it be better to have an abortion? Wouldn't that be the better option?
"You smell different," Namjoon suddenly commented. Jin flinched slightly and looked at the rapper. He lightly bit his cheek. So it was true. He had noticed after all. "It's nothing," Jin replied calmly, realizing how tired he was becoming. Namjoon sat up again and eyed him critically. He just didn't seem to believe him.
The movie continued, but the atmosphere was a bit awkward. Namjoon didn't take his eyes off Jin. Jin noticed that Namjoon had noticed something, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it, and that made him nervous. More nervous than ever before.
For the rest of the movie and until they went to sleep, Jin couldn't stop thinking about how he could best explain it to Namjoon.

Jin could hardly sleep that night. He tossed and turned constantly. Nothing helped. Meanwhile, Namjoon lay peacefully beside him. His steady breathing indicated that he was fast asleep. This reassured Jin but also left him alone with his thoughts.
At first, he still had his cell phone with him. He had researched the topic of abortion. He also looked into whether there had been pregnant idols in the past and how they had dealt with it. There were no reports of pregnant idol omegas.
After that, he put his phone back on the nightstand and tried to sleep.
He didn't know what to do. What would happen if he decided to keep or give up the child? An abortion would solve his problems easily, but Jin wanted a family.
Would Namjoon want to start a family with him? He would have to tell Namjoon because, as the father, he also had a say in the matter. Seokjin carefully touched his mark.
What should I do?

The next morning, Jin looked pale. He wasn't feeling well. Although he had managed to get some sleep during the night, he still felt sick. Really sick. He hadn't vomited yet that day, but he had been doing so at the same time every day for the last few days.
Yoongi had made breakfast that morning while Jimin helped him. Even though breakfast was supposed to be good, Jin knew what was coming and could hardly stand the smell. However, he tried hard not to gag or grimace too much.
Jin usually liked to drink a cup of coffee in the morning to start the day off right. But since reading online that caffeine is not good for unborn puppies, he decided to skip the liquid gold in the morning.
As he opened the tea box, Jin hummed a song quietly to himself. Over time, they had collected quite a few different varieties. He chose lemon tea and started boiling water.
He had thought about the issue all night.
Kim Seokjin had decided that he wanted to keep the puppy. That was very clear to him. How to tell Namjoon was another matter, though. But he would worry about that later.
Jimin continued to watch the older omega silently. Should he say something, or should he just let it go? He would love to help his hyung, but how?

Things came to a head during an interview that lasted longer than planned.
Jin sat restlessly in his seat. He felt sick.
He had known about the little secret growing inside him for two weeks. Namjoon knew nothing about it. They joked around with each other during interviews, and things were going well between them in private, too. They continued to have sex and were close. But Jin quickly noticed that Joon was acting differently. He kept sniffing him and commenting on his scent.
Jin would probably find out soon, but he needed time.
It was difficult to get a doctor's appointment discreetly. Fortunately, his manager made an appointment with the important people and helped him get one. When asked if he really wanted the child, Jin had a clear answer.
This was his puppy, and he wanted to keep it.
Until now, he had resisted his inner urge to build a nest. He didn't want to attract too much attention before speaking to Namjoon.
At the doctor's appointment, the pregnancy was officially confirmed. Kim Seokjin was in his seventh week, and his puppy had developed healthily thus far. At least, that's what the doctor said. When Jin heard the heartbeat, he was enchanted. Hearing it gave him assurance that his little puppy was healthy.
Yet, Jin deeply condemned himself for not telling his Alpha about the little miracle. Even his manager had scolded him for it and urged him to do so. Ideally, before the meeting with HYBE's management. Jin agreed to do so.
The only problem was that he kept putting it off. He just couldn't seem to find the "perfect moment," or he would accidentally miss it. It was awful.
Jimin and Tae were strangely sincere. Whenever Jin wanted something from the kitchen, for example, Jimin was quicker and gave it to him. Taehyung also became more attentive each time. He made sure that Jin got plenty of rest and wasn't overworked. Jin was sure the two younger Omegas knew about it.
This interview was no different. Beforehand, Jimin sat down next to him. They actually had an unwritten seating arrangement. Jin usually sat next to Namjoon. Next to the oldest omega were either Jungkook or Hoseok. Before Kookie could sit in the chair next to Jin, Jimin made himself comfortable, and Taehyung sat behind Jin.
As the agreed-upon end approached, Jin noticed that he was starting to feel sick. He tried to stay calm and breathe through the nausea. The omega also took a sip of water every now and then. He told himself it would all be over soon, and he could throw up in the bathroom afterward.
However, the interview was extended due to technical sound issues. The one-and-a-half-hour interview turned into a full two hours. Jin inwardly cursed the technology and the interviewers.
Seokjin reached for his water more often. He also tensed up almost completely. His hands became sweaty, and he had to use all his willpower not to gag.
Suddenly, he felt a gentle touch on his shoulder. He looked to his left and saw Namjoon. He looked extremely concerned. He could also feel the eyes of the others on him. The interviewer had stopped talking.
"Are you okay, Jin?" Namjoon asked. Tears welled up in Jin's eyes. For a moment, it seemed as if his mouth would open and empty the contents of his stomach, but the singer managed to close his mouth. Instead, he stood up and left his seat without apologizing.
His eyes frantically searched for the door, and when he found it, he ran toward it.
Fortunately, the restrooms were not far from the studio, and Jin pushed open the door and walked quickly to them. He knew the way because he had visited the restroom before the interview.
Without thinking that someone might be in there, he pushed open the door and staggered to one of the stalls. By now, he was gagging more. His legs gave way in front of the toilet bowl, and he sank to the floor. No sooner had he opened the lid than the contents of his stomach came up.
Tears ran down his cheeks as he silently cursed the world.
Before Jin could react, the door to the restroom opened and he felt two hands gently rubbing his back.
"Everything will be fine. I'm here now. Let it out,” a soothing voice said. At first, Jin couldn't identify the voice.
Once he was finished, he leaned slightly against the person who flushed the toilet and tore off a piece of toilet paper. They gently wiped his mouth with it.
He was sure it was Jimin because he was always around him. Jin was handed some water, which he took two sips of before starting to cry again.
He found himself disgusting. How could Namjoon still love him?
"I'm sorry," Jin murmured, closing his eyes slightly. He slid down a little so that he was half-lying on the floor, still leaning against the person behind him.
"You don't have to be sorry," the voice behind him assured him. "At least now I can guess what's wrong with you, Omega."
Jin looked up wearily and saw Namjoon's sympathetic yet concerned face.
Shit.
