shadow and girl

Summary:

September cautiously peered around Halloween's rooms in Fairyland Below. Of course, when she had been there years ago, before she became the Green Wind, she hadn't been able to take in the palace, much less her counterpart shadow's rooms. And they were fine rooms, built of shadow of gold leaf and plaster and wood, with furniture the likes of which she had never seen in Nebraska or all Fairyland.

Work Text:

September cautiously peered around Halloween's rooms in Fairyland Below. Of course, when she had been there years ago, before she became the Green Wind, she hadn't been able to take in the palace, much less her counterpart shadow's rooms. And they were fine rooms, built of shadow of gold leaf and plaster and wood, with furniture the likes of which she had never seen in Nebraska or all Fairyland.

It was deeply annoying how much people always assumed, and Halloween gave her respite here, which she had sorely needed for a long time. Yes, she and Saturday were lovers, of a sort. After all, September had met a marid traveling in time and had known it would be true, back when she was younger. And she liked kissing Saturday well enough, although she didn't enjoy lovemaking or… the rest of it.

Halloween shielded her from all that. She understood. She liked kissing too, and even more than that, she liked being in charge. September did too, and it never surprised her to be like herself in this way. There were other things she liked too, but they were things she only did with Halloween, the Hollow Queen, when she was restless and broken.

Then, Halloween would wake her up with fingers inside of her, and bring her to anxious completion again and again until September felt that she could breathe again. But they had never done it in the Queen's rooms. It seemed so much more personal that way, and September felt her heart race with anticipation as she considered it.

Halloween always seemed to know what she needed, although shadow and girl had separated years ago now. For now, it was enough to know that she was safe, and would be taken care of. The rest would come later.
