"Ow" Noah complained as they suddenly landed in an unfortunately uncomfortable position- and from a height, too!
They hadn't been wherever here was a moment ago, they'd been sitting on their bed and reading fanfic and intermittently checking tumblr- like a normal person. And the fic had been really good!
"Sisko to Odo. We have an unidentified presence in ops" someone said from above them.
Noah hastily opened their eyes, and took in a room unlike any they were used to. Boxy computer terminals, unfamiliar architecture, people walking about in blockily coloured uniforms.
"...What's going on?" Noah hastily asked to the room.
Someone in a teal-tipped uniform walked over towards them. Said person's fellow uniformed people- coworkers maybe?- sighed as they approached, but didn't interrupt.
"I'm Doctor Bashir, do you understand what's going on?" their voice buzzed, an unfamiliar language underneath its translation, in the air.
"No, I don't. Where am I? What is this?" Noah, safe to say, was confused.
"You're on Deep Space Nine-" Doctor Bashir began.
But Noah was all too distracted by one of the uniformed people.
"Is that an alien?"
"that is Ensign Vlix-Pran" another person explained. They had an all red outfit, though the shades were different across it.
"Where are you from, that you're unfamiliar with aliens?" Doctor Bashir sounded confused "We're in Bajoran space, and you're-"
"Very human?" Noah asked
"Ye-es?" the Doctor's voice was a bit squeaky, and also very British.
"We've been scanning them, Doctor- their quantum signature is consistent with twenty-first century Earth"
"Before the-" Bashir was very quickly interrupted.
"Do you want another talk with temporal investigations?"
"...No"
Noah was busy pinching themselves, they'd seen more aliens passing through (and the person in red didn't seem fully human, on closer look, either), to wonder if this was a dream.
"Ow"
It wasn't.
"Well fuck a duck"
