My Perfect Empress

Summary:

From there, his dueling and partner ideals changed. No longer was he looking to respect his opponents, but completely obliterate them. And as for his partner, no longer did he care about the sentimental value, he only wanted those who could stand by his side in duels. When he thought about it, there was only one person.

This specific person not only went against Edo Phoenix, but he was also the top duelist at Academia after Ryou graduated. He was the first ever one to force Ryou into a tie of all things.

He remembered exactly when he told his soulmate that he wanted him to become his empress at the top of the world. He was rejected, which Ryou didn’t take lightly. He rejected others for being too weak and naïve, he didn’t get rejected for being strong and powerful. It was then he decided that he would show his Empress what it truly meant to stand on top of the world by his side, the only one strong enough to provide him with security and safety.

Work Text:

Marufuji Ryou, otherwise known as the Kaiser, knew he was the best in Duel Academia, it was just a fact. He was the top student in all of his year and dorm, even the top duelist on the campus.

No one could beat him.

He had admirers, both male and female, though they never caught his eye and seemed more annoying and superficial than what he was looking for in a partner.

Ryou was looking for someone who respected his opponents in duels, believed in their cards and could be his equal in the setting of duels and the Pro Duelist world…until he lost . It wasn’t just one or two losses, those he could handle, no…it was the constant losing streak that all stemmed from Phoenix Edo, the young upstart Pro Duelist.

He was rejected , which Ryou didn’t take lightly. He rejected others for being too weak and naïve, he didn’t get rejected for being strong and powerful.

It was then he decided that he would show his Empress what it truly meant to stand on top of the world by his side, the only one strong enough to provide him with security and safety.

It surprisingly didn’t take long for Ryou to find a way to get his chosen Empress off campus once everyone went to bed, considering he was the only student left in the Osiris Red Dorm. No one noticed Ryou slip in and out easily, his beloved sleeping peacefully on the bed.

As he reached down to grab his Empress, a chill ran through his spine momentarily as if something had passed through his body and tried to stop him, but Ryou shook it off and continued with his plans.

Luckily, his chosen slept like a log on a good day and after the recent disaster was averted, Ryou knew he wouldn’t be waking anytime soon. That made this all the easier, though as he left through the window with his chosen Empress, he had to pause once more, swearing that he heard whispers in the darkness, but he knew that there had been no one else in the dorm room aside from his Empress.

It didn’t matter, it was time for Ryou to make his Empress see reason.

When Judai woke up, he knew something was wrong instantly. He could hear Hane Kuriboh whining somewhere behind him, but he couldn’t pinpoint it and he could hear his other Duel Monsters murmuring uneasily amongst themselves, but for some reason everything was fuzzy sounding. “Guys…I can’t hear you.” The sounds all stopped abruptly as a door creaked open and the Osiris Red turned his head and noticed… “Kaizer? What are you doing here? And what in the name of Osiris am I doing here for that matter?”

The taller smirked his way, cold eyes sparking briefly as he looked over the younger duelist. “I told you, Judai. I’ve chosen you as my Empress, you rejected that offer, now it’s no longer an offer. It’s going to be your future by my side.”

A rock settled in Judai’s stomach as the situation sank in. Judai knew that ever since the start of this school year and Ryou’s start in the Pro Duelist circuit, things hadn’t exactly been easy for the dark haired Marufuji brother, but he didn’t think he’d resort to something like this. “Kaizer…no, Ryou-san, you have to let me go. I can head back to the dorms and tell everyone I overslept.”

“No, it’s too late for that, Judai.” Ryou’s head tilted as he lifted a remote out of his pocket and Judai only had a moment to think (to hear his partners coo of warning) , before fiery hot bolts of electricity was running through his body and wreaking havoc on his nerves, a cry escaping his lips as he curled into a little ball.

The shocks didn’t last long, simply only being for show this time around as Ryou crouched in front of him, placing a steaming bento box in front of him. “This is your breakfast, my Empress. I can’t stay long, but don’t worry, you shouldn’t be here too long if you end up listening to me and just believing me when I say this is for the better.”

Judai could only blink down at the food, before Ryou’s hand moved and cupped his face gently, their lips meeting and the brunette couldn’t help the bolt of disgust that ran through him from the feeling of the kiss. He jerked back, hand flying up to smack Ryou’s own hand from his face with a frown of disappointment and anger. “You should know better than to try your luck with someone who’s not too willing to be a part of your sick games, Kaizer .”

Ryou didn’t seem too upset at his rejection, though from how good his poker face had always been, the HERO’s Duelist couldn’t be too sure, keeping his guard up, even as the Cyberdragon Duelist stood and made his way back to the door, pulling the remote out once more and flicking the switch, sending white hot pain flaring through Judai’s body once more as he cried out in shock and pain again, falling to his knees as he tried to bear through the electric volts running through him.

He didn’t know how long he sat there, but it still couldn’t have been that long, since the food was only slightly cooler and no longer freshly hot. “That was your second warning, Judai, don’t make me have to pull a third one on you. Do you understand?”

Judai said nothing, body trembling from the feeling of phantom pain still running through his body, even as Ryou exited, leaving him alone to his thoughts as his Duel Spirit friends began to appear around him, Hane Kuriboh looking at him worriedly, while Flare Wingman and Neos glared at the door, standing protectively in front of Judai, despite their lack of physical bodies.

It made him feel just a bit safer in this situation and his determination to escape sparked. As long as he wasn’t alone, there wasn’t any use sulking. He would get out.
