Work Text:
"Look, Liam, how beautiful all these stars are. You can’t see sth like this in the city, can you?", Siria asked.
Liam turned his view from the stars to her face. "No, you can’t."
"Then why not stay here?", Siria wanted to know.
"I haven’t told you yet, and I never will……I have certain obligations in Rumia", Liam admitted.
"Why will you never tell me?"
"Because I cannot tell you. I should probably go back…"
"But Rumia is 4 days away!", Siria contradicted.
A small laughter broke the silence of the night. "Siria, don’t concern yourself with such things. I’d love to come here again, to your family, your siblings, Luna and Jen. And I will. But right now, there’s some things I really need to take care of. "
Siria looked at him with pleading eyes. "But friends help friends. Can we not help you?"
The silence that followed weighed heavier than a thousand mean words.
Finally, Liam said: "You can’t."
Just as Siria wanted to tell Liam that they could, in fact, help him, if he were to tell them what his problem was, they got interrupted by Jen.
"What are you lovebirds doing up here?", she playfully asked.
"Nothing!", Siria answered a little too fast, her face already blushing.
"I have already told you I do not have such intentions towards Siria", Liam answered in all seriousness.
"I know, I know. I just came here to tell you some Gerjok's entered the city. Most men and woman are already trying to push them back. They waited for this unusually warm summer to bypass the cold winters. I was just told to get you two to help."
"Fast, Liam, let’s go!-wait-where is he?"
After Jen had finished talking, Liam had suddenly disappeared.
"It’s not so important, we need to defend Newelia!"
"Then let’s go!"
