Work Text:
“Partners are pre assigned…” The professor’s voice booms, making Taehyung groan from his seat. This is the worst part of being an academic student. They get partners, assigned partners, for a damn project. For a history class project which genuinely shouldn’t even be his major nor his minor. Considering he wants to study art. But nope, ‘if you want to study art, you need to get into its depth as well’ said by his counselor, hence this boring ass subject.
He skips the whole who’s assigned to who part that his professor says, too focused on why he has to even study. Until his name is announced. He’s sure he will be paired up with a random person. Someone whose name is not Park Jimin, because at this point all of his professors know that the two of them together are nothing but non stop chitter chatter. Well, it’s to be expected, Jimin is his best friend. What did the professors even expect him to do with his best friend? Fight?
“Kim Taehyung and…” He holds his breath, hoping it’s not someone who wouldn’t do any work. And ultimately Taehyung would have to call Jimin to help with the project. “Jeon Jungkook.”
Nope.
He heard it wrong. There’s no way, out of the bunch of corny students his professors could’ve paired him up with Jeon fucking Jungkook.
Nope.
Never. The professor continues to call out the pairs as if he didn’t just drop a bomb on Taehyung’s perfect (well a little perfect) life. He turns around, facing Jimin who has a shit eating grin on his face quietly muttering something about how he got the best partner ever, and Taehyung only flips him off, looking ahead. And oh.
He is instantly met with Jungkook’s stupid face, with a fucking smirk. Taehyung can bet a thousand dollars that right now all he needs to do is kill.
Because Jeon fucking Jungkook, flips him off. Let’s rephrase. That Jeon fucker just flipped Taehyung off. Kim Taehyung. The fucking ace. The prodigy. The smarty pants was flipped off by none other than his worst nemesis, Jeon fucking Jungkook.
Oh Jungkook, good luck on trying to survive.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
“How did you even get paired up with Jungkook?” Jimin wheezes on his fourth sandwich. Okay okay, fourth sandwich of the day, but it’s only their second meal. He doesn’t mind shoving Jimin’s face with sandwiches, but Taehyung has to wake up early to make those. And it's borderline offensive to him that Jimin, rather than enjoying his six am sandwiches, speaks while eating. Rude.
“The professor was on crack.” Taehyung ruffles his hair, finding the door much more interesting than the snort Jimin lets out. It’s not unusual that he got paired up with Jungkook actually, in high school (unfortunately) he has been paired up with that Jeon fucker a plenty. He was (is) the prodigy, and frankly Jungkook was (is) lame. So teachers would think ‘ah what a duo, let’s pair them up’ and voila, all they would get is a disaster, yet, the teachers would go ahead and do it all over again.
He thought it’d be over once he finished school and joined a college. But no. Peace and Taehyung in the same sentence was quite impossible. Because Jungkook had decided to join the same college (doesn’t matter if they took up college the same year, he got in first so its his college first technically ), as Taehyung, and Taehyung had never regretted anything so much before (maybe he does regret more letting his cat out that one morning and her returning pregnant but hey, at least he has five kittens now).
“I don’t know.” Jimin speaks through those lips that are now smothered in mayonnaise. Yikes. “I think you and him are meant to be.” And be glad he’s in a cafetaria, and the aroma is filled with the sandwiches, or he would’ve projectile vomited all over this table. Because what the fuck did his bestfriend even say? Him and Jungkook? Hah, what a joke.
“I kinda wanna hit you right now.” Taehyung mutters, but obviously Jimin pays him no heed. Yoongi joins them a minute later, crackling at how terrible it is to be paired up with Jeon fucker. And does no one understand him? Like at all? Jin joins the next moment, and smirks. And oh, oh God. He would’ve taken a shot of cocaine rather than sitting in between snakes, who laugh at him for being paired up with the worst ever partner. Like, guys, it’s a serious issue. Jeon fucker is life threatening. He just flipped him off this morning. What makes them think Jungkook would think twice before pulling a gun and aiming straight at him (not like his aim would work, hah).
“I’m leaving.” He announces, doubts anyone even sees him getting up. And fuck Jimin, he’s never getting those Taehyung privilege sandwiches again. Ever.
He walks through the doors of the cafeteria, checking his phone to see if Namjoon has replied. He almost throws his phone in disappointment when he realises his inbox is almost empty, and no, it's not like he isn’t looking where he is going. He was. Until he bumps into a rock hard body.
The worst part?
In an instant he knows who it is, because there’s only one person who wears a fucking black tank top in November winters.
“Taehyung.” Okay, now he wants to punch that face.
“Fuck off, really.” Taehyung chides, he doesn’t look at Jungkook’s face, and doesn't really want to. It helps in not ruining his day, honestly.
“Ah,” Jungkook, that fucking sweet talker, “don’t talk to your partner like that.”
“ Project partner.” Taehyung throws the plastic wrapper of his previously eaten sandwich in the bin, hoping it would’ve been Jeon’s brain instead. But alas, Jeon Jungkook lacks a brain.
Jungkook tsks, “you wish I’d wanna be anything more.”
And before Taehyung can throw an actual eraser at Jungkook’s face, he is out. Gone, poofed, vanished.
“Oh how I wish!”
He walks off as well, hoping to get a glimpse of Namjoon in the place he hates the most, library.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
“Namjoon has dimples.” Okay. That’s like the fifth time Taehyung has said that. And it’s not news, Namjoon has cute dimples. Too cute for one’s liking. And Taehyung always swoons whenever Namjoon politely throws a smile at him.
“Yeah we know.” Jimin sighs, so does Yoongi. These two are the only ones who know about his little crush on Namjoon. And maybe Hoseok does too, but Taehyung can never be sure about that guy, he’s like the wind anyways. He got into college only to drop a year later and last he heard, Hoseok is into witchcraft. Fascinating.
“But,” Taehyung should really stop talking now, considering Jimin is about to throw the nearest book at him. They’re in the library, and yes he did catch a small glimpse of Namjoon while the other left for his Chem class. And he wanted to go out as well, maybe drop Namjoon to his class, but nope, his best friend thought it’s better to study rather than wasting time on fleeting crushes.
Namjoon is not a fleeting crush!
But who can argue with Jimin and win? No one.
Although he can’t believe it, despite being smart in studies, he hates the smell of these libraries. He didn’t always hate it, honestly. Growing up, he just learnt to study with some background noise, rather than no noise at all. He always loves listening to some music while studying now.
“No buts, Taehyung.” Jimin mutters quietly, head in the books. “We’re going to the party on Friday, so we need to go shopping today.”
Friday? Party? Taehyung’s already out. He can feel the exhaustion before four days.
“Before you deny. Namjoon will be there.”
And oh! His ears perk up at that. Good opportunity. He can try and woo Namjoon there. The exhaustion is suddenly gone, and so is the thought that he will not go to that party.
“Also, Jungkook’s in the organising team.”
Okay the exhaustion is back. Along with a headache.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
The next day, Taehyung makes a plan to visit Namjoon’s desk during their shared classes. French! Along with Namjoon being a science nerd, he also is a language nerd. Works well for Taehyung considering he always wanted to learn French and he took these classes. The worst part? Jungkook shares this class with them as well.
“I think you suck.” Jungkook comments. Taehyung thinks he doesn’t get to voice out his opinions, because ultimately they’re all trash. But before Taehyung can say something that will definitely ruin both their reputations, Namjoon jumps in, or rather saves the situation.
“Can you both not?” Namjoon says, and honestly the English sounds wrong, but it comes out of his crush’s mouth so it’s perfect. “The professor is teaching.”
“He is teaching us abcd, we’re way past that, hyung.” Jungkook sighs. And for once Taehyung might (keyword: might) agree with Jungkook. His professor thought it’d be interesting to teach them the basics as exams are coming soon. But they hadn’t expected their professor to go this basic.
“Do something else then.” Namjoon mutters, and he doesn’t pay heed to any of them anymore. Taehyung feels a little hurt, but he turns his head to face Jungkook who’s already removing his history textbook.
“They said witchcraft was malevolent.” Jungkook states, his hand showing Taehyung an image of a random woman who’s in their textbook. “We can totally work on this.”
“I refuse to believe that.” Taehyung chides, he closes the book for Jungkook, “they made potions to save humans.”
“So they weren’t humans themselves?” And of course Jungkook has to say something extremely dense.
“Are you stupid?”
“They brewed potions!” Jungkook raises his hand, forgetting he’s in class. And well…
“Ah Mr. Jeon will answer it. Please tell us what this alphabet is?” The professor’s voice booms, and Taehyung almost inhales a snort. Namjoon almost bangs his head on the bench.
“That’s an F.” Jungkook mutters confidently, and this time it’s really hard for Taehyung to control the furious laugh that tries to escape his lips. Namjoon face palms.
“Correct. It’s definitely like the F you will get on your French for being this attentive in class.” The sarcasm that drips from their professor’s tongue is way too hilarious for Taehyung to not burst into a fit of laughter. “It’s a U. Mr. Kim, please be attentive as well or it’ll be you with a F next.”
“Fuck my life.” Jungkook mutters as the professor turns around teaching again.
“And you said we’re past basics?” Namjoon snorts, and oh how sweet his voice is. And oh, how sweet those dimples are.
“I wish the witches had crafted a potion to turn Taehyung into a rock, so I could throw him.” Jungkook mumbles, throwing a pencil at him.
“You shit, it’s you who’s malevolent.” and well maybe, it wasn't the best decision to try and throw a whole book at Jungkook. Because somehow their voices reached the professor.
“Mr. Kim and Mr. Jeon, out!”
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
Jungkook sighs as he enters his apartment. It’s a small one, shared with his dog. Though Bam usually mostly stays with his parents. And considering how he’s close to his exams, he prefers the quiet. Today wasn’t as eventful as yesterday was, anyways. Eventful as in he got paired with Taehyung, and what can be funnier than that? That guy avoids him like a plague, and Jungkook is always determined to trouble Taehyung by pissing him off.
It’s a fun game, and he likes it. Though what makes it crazy is Namjoon hyung having the audacity to say that he might actually like Taehyung and he’s only pretending to hate him. And that’s bullshit. He doesn’t even like Taehyung as a person (maybe just a little when he saw Taehyung helping at the dog shelter but that’s that). He likes to tease him, piss him off, and all that. But liking Taehyung? Nope.
He throws his bag on the bed, throwing himself on it too. He needs to get done with this project, so he’ll be done with Taehyung as well. And, most importantly, he needs to revise French. He had no idea that not studying for a month would make his French rusty. Alright, okay, not rusty, absolutely drained. But well, he isn’t up for studying things that don’t even matter. Like why would he need to speak French in freaking South Korea? Make it make sense! He’s a photography major, and he thought maybe someday he’ll be able to catch the beauty of Paris, so he took up this class. And he has regretted everything since.
He needs to get ready for the party which is in two days, as well. He’s in the organising team, and he obviously loves doing that shit. If they called him at two in the morning to do some stuff, he would do it. It’s a semi formal event, something about being in the last year of college and all. He didn’t pay attention to the ‘why’ questions, he just moved ahead with being on the team. He is their main photographer as well. And that’s the best part.
He gets off his bed, taking his camera. Today wasn’t eventful enough, so maybe he can take enough pics to make the day good.
The walk to the nearest park from his apartment is only five minutes. Though he takes an extra few minutes to stare at the bougainvillea tree. Captures it the best he can. The pink looks extremely pretty against the blue sky, with white clouds. He is glad the sun isn’t obnoxiously shining bright, giving him a clear view of the flowers.
He roams around aimlessly, trying to capture the clouds, random bushes, trees, anything amusing he can find. And when he sees an empty park bench just behind a bush of roses, he obviously captures it. Unfortunately he doesn’t look well before clicking the photo, because why the fuck is Taehyung in this photo?
“Hello, stalker.” Taehyung chimes, brightly. Jungkook kinda wants to slap himself for ever leaving his precious bed.
“You wish.” He throws, turning to walk around.
“I don’t. But your camera probably does.” Taehyung’s laughter booms around the empty park.
“I’m throwing the photo away.”
“So, instead of deleting it, you’d rather go ahead have it printed and then throw it?” Taehyung lightly hits his shoulder, “expected nothing less, stalker.”
“By throwing, I mean I’ll delete it.” Jungkook saves the fumble he just had. What else is he even going to say?
“Sure.”
“Sure, leave me alone now.”
“Why?” Taehyung stops walking, and Jungkook does too. He has no idea why, considering he was walking ahead and he should’ve kept walking. “What was it about the witches again?”
“Ask Hoseok.”
He turns around, paying no heed to the fact that his cheeks have turned red due to the embarrassment of not walking ahead, and stopping when Taehyung did.
Gosh what was the thing Namjoon said? No, no. Not the liking part. The part where he is sometimes dumb!
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
“Does Namjoon not like me?” Taehyung wonders, he is tired of making heart eyes at Namjoon who only smiles at him politely. Why?
“I think he’s just being polite.” Jimin answers as he chews on another sandwich Taehyung made this morning.
“No shit Sherlock.” Taehyung chides. He should really stop providing his best friend with tons of sandwiches, he doesn’t deserve any!
“I’m gonna go see Hoseok.”
“Why?”
“Because I miss him.”
He leaves before he can hear what Jimin replies, thus finding himself on Hoseok’s countertop.
“Did witches brew every kind of potion?” Taehyung troubles Hoseok on a Thursday afternoon. He came straight to Hoseok’s small studio apartment after he finished his classes. He ditched Jimin, because what he’s about to do is top secret. And Jimin can never be trusted around Yoongi and Jin. Namjoon as well. He just runs his mouth, even when he’s fed with the best (Taehyung’s) sandwiches.
“You’ve to be specific.” Hosoek tells him. He offers him coffee, but Taehyung makes a face, and so Hoseok makes him a cup of tea. God knows what the tea even has, because as soon as Taehyung tastes it, he’s in heaven. It’s that good.
“Specific?”
“Yeah like,” Hoseok drops on the ground with a thud from the countertop he’s sitting on, “medicinal potion, poison potion, anti aging potion–”
“There’s an anti-aging potion?” Taehyung shouldn’t be surprised, it’s witches they’re talking about.
“Sure there is, if you make it right.” Hosoek nods, “but which kind do you want?”
“Dunno.” Taehyung shrugs, “something that will make Namjoon look at me differently.”
“Oh.” Hoseok’s grin is shit.
“Don’t.” Taehyung warns and the other raises his hand in defence.
“I think a love potion is what you need.” Hoseok reaches around the hall, walking towards a small shelf. It has tons of books, and he removes one of them. “This might help.”
Taehyung takes the book in his hands. It’s heavy, and too big for Taehyung’s liking. Gosh he seriously wonders how he’s always the top in class, despite hating studying anything.
“Page three hundred and seven, there’s a formula,” Hosoek points, and Taehyung does a quick work of turning the pages. Sure there is a love potion titled chapter here. It’s all written in cursive, and the handwriting feels like from an era his grandparents didn’t exist. “I don’t know if that works, but that’s all I have.”
“I think this might work.”
“Well if it does, I’ll gladly take a thousand dollar bill.”
“Fuck off.”
Taehyung walks out of the door with the book in his hand.
"At least finish your hot chocolate, you buffoon.”
And Taehyung’s back in the apartment.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
The instructions are really easy, and so are the ingredients needed for the potion. He can easily brew on without needing anyone’s help. Today is Thursday, if he manages to brew one tonight he might be able to give one to Namjoon at the party, in the pretense of giving Namjoon an alcoholic drink. A perfect plan. And so, he starts working as soon as he reaches his own apartment.
“Okay, so first ingredient–” He sits on his desk, the big book sitting on the table. There’s a cauldron sitting in front of him, to mix everything. “Dried rose petals.” He has those! Yesterday when he was roaming aimlessly around the park and met with his stalker aka Jeon fucker, he was able to pick some roses for himself. Sure, they must’ve dried by now. He reaches for his back pack, and there they are. Some are dried, some are still in the process, but he only needs a few. He puts them in the cauldron. Raking his eyes over to the book to see the next step.
“Sparkling water.” He reads, and blinks. Once, twice, and then again. Does he even have it? Jimin sure has a habit of bringing a colored one. He needs to check his kitchen, so he gets up, walking towards his fridge. And sure enough luck is on his side, as he sees an almost empty bottle of pink colored sparkling water. Will that work? Well, it didn’t say it has to be a color, so he’s safe.
He adds that in the cauldron, mixing it properly. The mixture already looks good, he’s definitely making Namjoon fall for him in minutes. The potion did say the person who drinks it from the person who makes it, is instantly swooned. So if he’s really lucky (which he thinks he is), he would be able to introduce Namjoon as his plus one sooner. He giggles at the thought, earning a look from the youngest kitten; mitten. Yes, she was as soft as cotton, but cotton is the name of the eldest kitten, so he named her mitten. “Don’t look at me like that, go to your mama.” The kitten looks at him, purrs, and goes back to sleep. Taehyung shakes his head, continuing to read the recipe further.
“Crushed apple seed.” He has that. Who in their right minds does not eat apples? He loves apples, so he eats one. As a snack too, and as a way to abstract the seeds, crushing them, before adding them as well in his cauldron. He mixes them as well. Is he allowed too? The recipe didn’t mention when to stir or mix, so he thinks it’s okay. And he really, really believes that luck is on his side.
“Next is sugar.” He nods to himself. Everyone has sugar. He brings the jar from the kitchen, emptying half of it because the recipe didn’t mention how much was supposed to be put in. But the recipe did say sugar for charms and yes, he needs Namjoon to be charmed. Once he’s done, he stirs, properly. Reading the last step side by side, he needs a wax candle (isn’t that harmful? But he doubts using a little wax may harm anyone). A pink or red one. Well thanks to himself that he loves bathing in the aroma of scented candles, hence having tons of different colored candles. He surely can find a red or a pink one.
He does find a red one, and mixes the wax as well. And stirs the pot! The potion looks amazing, it smells average, but he only has to mix it with a drink. So he strains and pours it into a vial, and reads the instruction that is given.
“The potion only works when you keep the vial under your pillow overnight.”
He can do that, in fact he will do it right now. He shoos mitten away from the bed, earning a glare from her. And gets into the bed to sleep, he’s tired enough from all the potion making. Tomorrow is a big day, he needs his beauty sleep. And he needs to look good, for Namjoon.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
The party is eventful. What can you expect from talented people? Leaving out Jungkook of course. Taehyung wore a red suit today, something that he looks sexy in, yet at the same time he looks cute as well. So it works well for his plan. The vial is safely tucked in his pockets. He knows he looks a little sus right now, judging by how Jimin has been throwing looks at him, but he has managed to ignore all of them. He doesn’t need negative energy right now (Jimin’s endless questions).
He walks around the small bar set up, ordering a colorful drink, so when he gives it to Namjoon, the other isn’t able to see the potion inside it. The drink that the bartender hands him is red in coloring, kind of matching his drink. The pink sparkling water in the vial helps a lot. He quietly looks around to see if anyone’s watching him, takes a breath when he sees there’s no one around for now. He removes the vial from his pocket, taking a look around again. He opens the vial’s cap, and pours the whole thing inside. Quickly pocketing the empty small glass bottle. “Done.” he mostly mumbles it to himself, but is shocked when he hears another voice.
“Done staring at that drink for five minutes straight?” Jungkook smirks, looks at the drink in Taehyung’s hand and then back at him.
He doesn’t want to deal with Jungkook’s bullshit right now. Nope. He needs to find Namjoon, feed him this drink, and be done for the night. “Stalking me again?”
“Actually, I was just curious as to why you stared at it for five minutes.” Jungkook sounds genuine. But as soon as that thought enters Taehyung’s mind, there’s suddenly another one: did he see me mixing it with the potion? And oh God, Jungkook has all the power in the world to ruin this. He worked really hard for this potion–cut him some slack. “Do you not trust our bartenders?”
“What’s it to you?” Well, he shouldn’t be mad. But all the fear he has of getting caught is turning into anger, and he really can’t handle this emotion well. “Fuck off.”
“I don’t think it’s wise to talk to someone who organized the party like this.” Jungkook chuckles, and it sounds a bit dangerous. As in if they were in a mafia au, Jungkook wouldn’t even have looked left and right before putting a bullet straight into his head, but alas, this isn’t a mafia au, and Jungkook is not a boss, nor does he have a gun (or a brain for that matter).
“Get lost, will you?”
“Not before you tell me why you did what you did.”
“I didn’t know I was answerable to a brainless bitch.”
“Oh you’re not answerable to yourself? That’s funny.”
“Jungkook, I will end you.”
“Sure, but before–” And before Taehyung can stop him, Jungkook snatches his drink with the potion in it, maybe to spite him, “I’ll show you this wasn’t poisoned.”
Taehyung is too stunned to speak anything else, that his brain doesn’t instantly register that Jungkook took (more like snatched) his drink, and drank it. Jungkook fucking drank the stupid drink with the love potion in it. Oh God.
No.
Nope.
This can’t be happening.
Oh my God.
Taehyung is royally fucked.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
Taehyung wants the ground to swallow him whole. He can’t handle this. He hopes the potion doesn’t work. He hopes…
“What- what did you do?” Taehyung asks, once Jungkook finishes drinking the pink/red shimmering liquid.
“Oh, it tasted like roses.” Jungkook smiles at him. And a sudden shiver runs down Taehyung’s spine. Jungkook smiles at him, but has the smile always been like that?
“Do you-you feel anything?” He asks cautiously, taking steps back, slowly.
“Am I supposed to?” Jungkook laughs, and it sounds like a nice laughter, not the snort or the chuckle Taehyung is used to, “told you it doesn’t have poison in it.”
“But it does!” Taehyung whines. It’s a love potion if given to Namjoon, but Jungkook drank it so it obviously is a deadly poison.
“Mm….,” no, why is Jungkook talking like that? “Did you always have that mole on your nose?”
Oh no. Please, oh no. “Jungkook, I think I have to leave.”
“No, why?” Jungkook whines. Literally whines. “Did you know you look so cute when you are mad?”
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. What did Taehyung do! How did they end up in a situation like this? Oh God.
“Stop talking, please.” Taehyung almost cries. He wants to pull his hair out. How can he let Jungkook have that drink? Just how?
Jungkook only grins. Teeth showing, trouble incoming. “You’re so beautiful.”
“I will burn you, Jungkook!”
“Good,” and why is Jungkook inching closer? “Make it slow burn, baby.”
“Oh my God.”
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
Jimin is shocked to see Taehyung running from the bar to where they sit. Didn’t he say that he’s bringing drinks for Namjoon? What just happened? “Hey, Taehy—” Jimin doesn’t get to finish what he wants to ask.
“Running away.” Taehyung answers hurriedly, snatching the car keys from Jimin’s hold. And literally running out of the damn party.
“What?” Jimin blinks. “How the fuck am I supposed to go home if you take the keys, you fucker!” But alas, Taehyung isn’t here to hear it and he has already run away.
Jimin shakes his head. He will need to ask Yoongi for a ride. He will have to ask his crush for a ri—
Jimin’s thoughts are cut off when he sees Jungkook running too, and so out of curiosity he asks, “what happened?”
“My baby Taehyung ran away.” Jungkook doesn’t spare him a glance as he’s running out of the same gate as Taehyung did.
Jimin blinks.
Once.
Twice.
Once more, and then it hits him. Like a truck.
“What the fuck?”
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
Taehyung wakes up the next morning, hoping whatever happened last night was nothing but a nightmare. But alas, it isn’t. Because he can see the empty vial bottle kept on his desk.
He remembers Jungkook coming after him, but Taehyung was fast enough to ignite the engine and run away from the scene. He can’t handle this. He needs to find an antidote. Something that makes Jungkook a normal person again. That Jungkook is a difficult Jungkook.
His phone pings with a message, and Taehyung thinks it’s Jimin. He checks it, and instantly lets out a gasp. Because what the fuck!
Jeon fucker
Good morning baby
Do you like to drink hot choco in the morning?
Can i bring u smth to eat?
Did u not wake up yet?
Im missing seeing your cute face
You’re so pretty
Do u want a choco bar?
And the last message was sent just now, when he checked his phone. Jungkook has been messaging him since six in the fucking morning. Gosh!
He instantly dials Jimin’s number, hoping he’s the only one who can get him out of this misery.
“Hel—”
“Taehyung what the fuck! Since when are you dating Jeon?”
“What?”
“What do you mean ‘what’? He told everyone at the party that you’re his soulmate, no actually let me rephrase, he said ‘Taehyungie is my soulmie’.”
“What?” Taehyung screams, Mitten glares at him, but he ignores her.
“What the fuck do you mean by what you shit? Jungkook has called me thrice since six to ask which is your favourite drink! I’m going to fucking kill you, Taehyung.”
And before Taehyung can say anything else Jimin hangs up. He groans loudly, pulling out his hair, dialling Hoseok’s number, hoping he might have an antidote or a reversible potion recipe. Hoseok picks up at the fourth ring, and before Taehyung can greet him, Hoseok beats him to it, with an obnoxious laugh.
“Did you just give that potion to Jeon Jungkook?”
Taehyung hangs up, throwing his phone somewhere on the bed, earning another look from Mitten.
He’s totally fucked!
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
Frankly, Taehyung is scared to leave his apartment. He fears he might bump into Jungkook and the other would embarrass him in public. As if Jungkook hadn’t already done enough in the party. Though, just to his luck he runs out of milk, to pour in his cereal, and he needs cereal to start his day, or he dies. Hypothetically dies, anyways. He has bread, he has mayo, he has veggies, he can definitely try a sandwich, but he doubts that will work to wake him up right now. So he does what he thinks is the best decision to make a run for the milk.
He wears a sweatshirt, helps him as it already is chilly outside. He opts for a beanie, one that almost covers his forehead. He wears a white mask, and puts on some goggles. So now, he looks like a celebrity going to the airport. Perfect! Jungkook wouldn’t even be able to recognize him, even if Taehyung passes by. And Taehyung really, really hopes he doesn’t pass by Jungkook.
The convenience store is just a five minute walk, if he walks fast it’s not even five. Thanks to his mile long legs, he quickens his pace, more like, to the bystanders around him, he’s running. Well, who cares? Apparently, one guy does.
Want to hear a joke? Yes?
It’s Taehyung’s destiny.
Yep, that’s the joke.
Because. Um, let’s just go back home, Taehyung can surely manage without milk. He can make sandwiches. He should make sandwiches. He will make sandwiches.
He is about to turn, “Taehyung, baby!”
Oh no.
“What?” Taehyung chides. Honestly if it was the Jungkook Taehyung knows, he would've said something shitty back, but this is not the Jungkook Taehyung has known since growing up, this is potion-ed Jungkook. One who is looking at him like he freaking hung the stars in the sky, and Taehyung genuinely wants to vomit.
“You ran away yesterday.” Jungkook states, he inches closer into Taehyung’s personal space, and Taehyung wants to slap him.
“Because I wanted peace.” Taehyung answers, already halfway out of the store when he’s pulled back in.
“Don’t leave me here, see.” Jungkook shows him a milk carton, “Jimin said you need cereal to start your day, so I thought about bringing you cereal as breakfast.”
“You wanted to bring me cereal…as breakfast?”
“Yes.”
“Are you crazy?”
“For you? Yes.”
“You know what? Fuck off.”
Taehyung pushes Jungkook away, before dashing straight out of the store, towards the direction of his house. And no, he doesn’t look back to see if Jungkook joins. He can’t, okay. He doesn’t even want to. Cereal as breakfast are shit anyways. Learn from Jimin, eat sandwiches.
(Between you and me, Taehyung does look back and heaves a relieved sigh when he realises Jungkook isn’t following him).
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
On a Sunday, he tries telling Jungkook over texts that he’s under a spell. But Jungkook being Jungkook, always manages to be difficult.
Jungkook

Yes he changed Jungkook’s contact name. Considering the way Jungkook is behaving right now, he isn’t Jeon fucker, he’s just Jungkook.

Taehyung somewhere is proud that he made a potion work. Despite having zero knowledge about witchcraft or whatever category potions fall into.

Jungkook
Okay tc
Miss u
And Taehyung hadn’t replied after that, too wallowed up in his guilt of letting Jungkook drink it instead of Namjoon.
Monday is eventful, to say the least. Because the day starts with Jungkook waiting for Taehyung by the gates of their university. Cladded in a black leather jacket, wearing a black tank top. How fucking stupid.
“What do you want?” Taehyung yells, almost making the whole campus turn their heads at them. He isn’t embarrassed, nope, what’s embarrassing is the fact that Jungkook sneakily tries to hold his hand. So he has to fold them over his chest, in order to avoid Jungkook’s sneaky tricks.
“You.” Jungkook simply answers, pouting. “Let me hold your hand. A good boyfriend is supposed to hold his partner’s hand, wherever and whenever.”
A few heads turn to them as Jungkook’s voice is as loud as a fucking horn.
“Boy-boyfriend, what?” A voice asks from somewhere, and Taehyung pays it no heed, but he has to stop walking as Jungkook holds him by his forearm.
“Yes, we’re boyfriends.”
“What the fuck!” Taehyung yells loudly this time, making sure heads are turned, “we’re not boyfriends!”
“We are.” Jungkook laughs loudly, as if Taehyung just made a joke. “He’s just shy.”
“Shy-what?”
But he never gets an answer as Jungkook drags him to their first class of the day, with a hollering laughter, leaving behind tons of gossip.
‘They’re dating?’
‘Sure, they are!’
‘All this stupid banter, I knew it was sexual tension!’
‘Damn who do you think t–’
(Uh, to avoid Taehyung further embarrassment we’ll leave it to that.)

History class is eventful as well. Very eventful. Their professor randomly asks each of them a question. And well, that’s okay. That happens in lectures. Nothing new here, right?
Well, wrong. Very wrong.
The professor points at Taehyung to answer something written on the board. It’s a simple question Taehyung thinks, he can pretty perfectly answer it. So he stands up, looking at the board, already having the answer.
But alas. Oh God, alas.
“Taehyung, answer it.” The professor says.
And as Taehyung is analyzing the question, standing up, Jungkook takes up the chance. “Professor, he already answers all the questions of my heart!”
“Jeon what the fuck?”
The class is laughing out loud. He earns glares from Yoongi and Jimin, but like he said, he isn’t answerable to brainless bitches. He flips them off—
“Mr.Jeon, Mr.Kim, out, now!”
And Taehyung definitely is ending Jeon fucking Jungkook.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
Taehyung really needs to start working on an antidote. Because he can’t handle this. Can’t believe he just bunked all the lectures, and walked all the way to Hoseok’s freaky studio apartment.
“I need help.”
“Therapy works.”
“Hosoek hyung!” Taehyung whines, he can’t do well with humor right now. Not when his phone has been ringing constantly and he doesn’t even need to look at it, because he already knows it’s Jungkook. Gosh, he really needs the bickering Jungkook back. The bickering Jungkook might’ve killed him, but this Jungkook the potion-ed Jungkook will most definitely end him. And he’s not ready to end it yet.
“Listen, I don't know.” Hoseok sighs, passing Taehyung the hot chocolate. “I can talk to a witch friend of mine, but that’s all I can help with.”
“That would work." Taehyung takes a sip, his cellphone buzzes again. He takes a look, it's a message from Jimin, he quickly tells him he is with Hoseok.
“I’m not sure. She’s not as knowledgeable, but she can read.” Hoseok nods.
“I can read as well.” Taehyung nods along with, “what if I try adding the opposite things?”
“Huh?”
“Well, like. They said to add dried roses, right? What if I add fresh rose petals? And simple water instead of the sparkling one?”
“Oh!” Hoseok's face lights up, and Taehyung feels like he can do it, it’ll be easy. “I think you might be going somewhere with that.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, I’m gonna go, see how it works.” He’s halfway out of the door, when Hoseok calls him again.
“You buffoon, finish that damn hot choco.”
And fuck you hot choco. Why does Taehyung always forget you?
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
“Are you going to follow me everywhere?” Taehyung asks, as he’s back in the park. Trying to collect some rose petals. It’s afternoon, the worst part? It’s still Monday afternoon, and Jungkook is already following him like a puppy.
“I’m not.” Jungkook quickly denies, “this is a date.”
“A date which I never consented to?” Taehyung plucks out a flower, says sorry to it.
“Your eyes tell a lot. You don’t have to talk about consent.”
“What do you even see in my eyes?” Taehyung sighs, walking towards his apartment, and he’s sure Jungkook is going to follow as well. So he has no option but to let him follow, and let him sit quietly as he works on the antidote.
“Love.” Jungkook kicks a stone as he speaks, and Taehyung wants to vomit.
“Can you not see the rage?” Taehyung turns around, pointing at his eyes, trying to enlarge them so Jungkook takes a hint and leaves him alone.
“Maybe.” Jungkook laughs. And gosh that sound sickens Taehyung. “But the rage is nano enough to be ignored.”
Fuck Jungkook for saying such utterly stupid shit. He had no idea this potion would make anyone this gone. Gosh, imagine Namjoon following him like that. He would’ve literally died.
“Is the next part of the date at your house?” Jungkook mutters excitedly. “I can definitely use some rest and cuddles.”
And the way Taehyung’s cheeks turn red is honestly embarrassing. But he has been embarrassing himself so much lately, that he doesn’t even give that another thought. “It’s not a date.”
He hears Jungkook chuckle, “are you blushing.”
Hell no. “That's the rage we talked about.”
“The rage looks so adorable on you.”
Taehyung seriously wants to kill himself.
Once they reach Taehyung’s door, the other does a quick job of opening it, and entering, stopping Jungkook at the entrance. “If you want to come in there are few rules.”
“Oh, kinky.”
“Jung- what?” Taehyung’s eyes are as wide as saucers, but he huffs, “actually don’t answer that, just listen.” He takes a long deep breath. “First, you need to shut u-”
“I can’t do that, I need to appreciate your beauty every two minutes or I’ll die.” what!? Taehyung thinks the red on his cheeks might have intensified. Because, why? What the fuck is Jungkook talking even?
“Well if you can’t shut up, you can’t enter.” Taehyung composes himself quickly. He’s proud of it. But then he sees a huge pout form on Jungkook’s lips. What the hell? Who knew Jeon fucker was capable of this? He had no idea Jungkook had it in him. “Alright, you can talk every ten minutes.”
“Works with me!” Jungkook smiles, his grin reaching his ears, and Taehyung wants to smack that face.
“Rule two, you’ve to be nice to my cat and my kitte–”
“You’ve kittens?” Jungkook doesn’t hear anything else, as he pushes Taehyung aside, and invites himself in. “Oh my God.” Taehyung doesn’t even say anything, he just heaves out a long frustrated sigh. “Oh, look at this one!” Jungkook giggles, “it's so cute.” Jungkook pets the kitten; Mitten, that traitor. “What’s the name, baby?” And oh. There’s that baby thing again, gosh.
Well, Taehyung really needs to work on that antidote.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
The first thing Taehyung does as he brings out his cauldron is to let all his cats in another room. He can’t have cat hair in his recipe. But Jungkook has it all wrong.
“Oh are you going to make salad in it?” Jungkook asks, eyes wide. “And did you send them away so we can have some privacy?” He smirks lightly, and Taehyung wants to smack this cauldron on Jungkook’s head.
“Firstly, I’m making a potion.” Taehyung mutters, putting the rose petals in the cauldron, “and secondly I wouldn’t even dream of us needing privacy."
“So you dream of us being in public? That’s sexy.”
“Stop twisting my words!” Taehyung yells, and he hears a judgy meow, but he ignores it, “help me! Bring me some water!”
So without another word, Jungkook gets up to help Taehyung. He brings a glass a minute later, “what took you so long?”
“I was admiring you from afar.”
“Lord save me.” he hears Jungkook’s laughter, and wonders if Jungkook is just acting to be a lovesick fool. But when he turns to look at the latter, he really looks at Taehyung like he was the one who saved an entire world from dying. Frankly, this makes Taehyung flustered, no one has really looked at him like this. But he ignores that stupid thought. It’s a mess anyways. His head.
He mixes the water with the petals, and this doesn’t look as attractive as the love potion looked like. Then he adds crushed apple pieces into it. He thinks this might work, considering he had added apple seeds.
“Can I help you stir it?” Jungkook bounces on his toes, and Taehyung has half a heart to slap him.
“Touch my cauldron and I’ll stir you into it” Taehyung warns, swatting Jungkook’s sneaky hand away that’s trying to rich for his cauldron.
“Okay, okay!” Jungkook leaves him be, “are you making me a cocktail? It does look appetizing.” Jungkook leans in, face closer to Taehyung’s. And the latter has to do everything in his power to hold back from hitting Jungkook hard with the stirrer.
“I’m about to sedate you.” Taehyung deadpans, he’s done with this nonsense. Bickering Jungkook was a hundred times better than whatever this Jungkook is.
“So that you can look at me without rage?” Was Jungkook always such a fucker? A sweet talker?
“Will you shut up?”
“No.”
“Gosh! Did you already forget the rule?”
“It was about complimenting you, and like a good boy I haven’t complimented you for the past minute.” fuck everything Jungkook said. Did- let Taehyung take a breath, did Jeon Jungkook just called himself a good boy? What the fuck? This wasn’t on Taehyung’s 2025 bingo list.
“Just shut up and bring me some salt.”
“Anything for you baby.”
“Stop calling me that!”
“Would you prefer something else?”
“Nothing!” Taehyung yells, hoping Jungkook wakes up from his potion-ed dazed state.
“Alright nothing, anything for you.”
Did- let Taehyung take a breath, one moment. Did Jungkook just say ‘nothing’ as an endearment?
What the fuck!
He ignores it, and puts the salt that Jungkook brings in as the opposite for sugar. He stirs the mixture again, and honestly, it doesn’t look appetizing at all. But anyways, he’s not the one who’s going to drink it.
The next ingredient was a little wax, but he has no idea what he should put on instead of the red wax he used. Maybe he can put some white? That should work. He puts that in as well, earning a puzzled look from Jungkook.
“What if I die after drinking that?”
“You won’t.” Taehyung stirs the pot, “you drank it once and you’re still alive and fine.”
“Okay.” Jungkook smiles, and Taehyung looks at him warily. Does this potion make one lose their mind as well? Ah, but Jeon Jungkook hasn't had one since the start.
He strains the drink, pouring it directly into a glass. The same glass Jungkook brought him the water in. The recipe had mentioned to keep the potion overnight for it to work, but that was for the love potion. This is the antidote, he might have to make Jungkook drink this fresh.
“Drink it.” Taehyung suddenly gets up, handing Jungkook the glass. “And God forbid if you don’t, I’ll have to forcefully pour this into your mouth!”
“With those noodle arms?” Jungkook laughs.
“What the fuck, Jungkook.” Taehyung shows his disappointment. He works out twice a month, okay. So he does have nice looking arms, whatever Jungkook said is false.
“Relax, I’ll happily drink poison if it’s you serving it to me.”
“Shut up and drink.”
Nooooo, look away guys. Taehyung’s ears are not red.
Jungkook nods, smells the drink, “smells like roses,” he takes a small sip, “um…this tastes like regret.”
“Doesn’t matter, drink it up! Fast.”
“Okay, okay. Geez.” Jungkook then drinks the whole thing in one go, and gosh, finally. This nightmare would be over now, he thinks. Jungkook would be back to his annoying self. To his asshole self. And Taehyung would be out of this stupid trouble. He might make another potion, two actually, one he’ll let Jimin use on Yoongi, and another he’ll use on Namjoon. It’s a perfect plan, he thinks. One that would work wonders if he plays into it right. He will most definitely succeed.
“Done!” Taehyung smiles to himself. “How does it feel?”
Jungkook looks at him weirdly, “I don’t know.” He says, “I think-” Jungkook gets up suddenly, running around Taehyung’s apartment frantically.
“What? What happened?” Taehyung panics as he runs behind Jungkook who manages to find the guest bathroom.
Jungkook throws up, exhaling everything Taehyung worked hard on, coughing out the last bits of vomit. “I think you almost killed me.”
Taehyung regrets trying to make that antidote instantly, but what Jungkook says next makes him facepalm.
“But I loved it.”
“Fuck. You’re impossible.”
“Yeah,” Jungkook smiles through his teeth, how can someone even smile after this, “I think you look really beautiful right now.”
“Jungkook just shut up,” Taehyung sighs, “I’ll bring you some water.”
“Promise not to poison it, because I want to live the rest of my life with you.”
This makes Taehyung giggle, only a little okay. But as soon as he realises, he instantly stops those giggles. Gosh, what is wrong with him?
He really needs to look for an antidote.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
Tuesday holds the same things for Taehyung. Like a deja vu. Jungkook is standing by the uni gates, waiting for Taehyung to enter, smiling way too brightly in the morning as soon as he sees Taehyung.
“Taehyungie!” Jungkook cheers, and Taehyung feels like slapping him. “You’re glowing today! Did you do anything different?” Jungkook tries to take Taehyung’s backpack to carry, the latter doesn’t let him.
Taehyung looks him dead in the eye, “yes,” he says, holding onto his bag tightly, “I swallowed a light bulb.”
This has Jungkook booming in laughter, “you’re so funny, Tae, here.” Jungkook forcefully hands him a cup, “it’s hot choco, you need to stay warm in this weather.”
“Gosh, will you stop this?”
“Caring for you? Never.”
It’s only morning, but Taehyung is already done for the day.
Thankfully they didn’t have history today, so no fear of being thrown out, again. Unfortunately, Taehyung has French today and he is about to commit arson as soon as he enters the class and sees what’s written on the board.
Taehyung, tu es mon bébé. ( Taehyung, you’re my baby)
And Taehyung is quite at a loss for words. Because who the hell even does that? Before he can react violently, Jungkook calls out his name, loudly.
“Tae!” Jungkook waves his hands like a lunatic, and Taehyung really wants to cry. “Come here! I saved you a seat.” Everyone looks at him, as he sniffles his fake tears, walking over to where Jungkook is, sighing in relief when he sees Namjoon sits behind him as well, who, like always, is smiling fucking politely.
“What is that on the board?” Taehyung asks, and is about to hit Jungkook with the backpack.
“My undying love for you?”
Taehyung hits him lightly. But the toothy grin Jungkook has never seems to waver. Gosh.
“Erase it or I’ll transfer classes.”
“Oh no!” Jungkook is quick to get up, running like a baby as he erases the stuff.
“I had no idea you were dating him.” Namjoon speaks. And even though his crush is pretty, right now he feels like Namjoon is pretty dense. Does he not remember that he and Jungkook literally argued a week ago?
“I’m not.” He says earnestly. Because no, Kim Namjoon, this was supposed to be you. The potion-ed up man you see there, was supposed to be you. Not Jungkook. Never him.
Namjoon raises an eyebrow at him, “you’re not?”
Taehyung sighs, how is he even going to make anyone understand what is happening? “It’s complicated.”
“Couple fights?” Namjoon smiles, dimples shining. And if it was a normal day, Taehyung would've admired them, though right now he only worries about the small dimples that form on Jungkook’s face when he does anything simple.
“Something like that, yeah.”
Namjoon nods, as Jungkook gets back, pulling lightly on Taehyung’s cheeks. “Why are you frowning?” Jungkook smiles, sitting way too close for Taehyung’s liking.
“I’m not.” Taehyung mumbles, scribbling letters on his notebook. He wants to get done with uni so he can call and ask Hoseok if he’s made any progress with the antidote.
“You know.” Jungkook peeks, speaking lightly, just for him to hear, “everytime you frown, an angel loses its wings.” Jungkook’s smile is gentle. Way too much for Taehyung to handle, so he ignores it.
“Good.” He says, randomly writing people’s names on the book, “I hate angels.”
Jungkook laughs again. The laugh that makes Taehyung’s ear almost bleed, because how is Jungkook sounding so happy. So different. So good. Just how?
He lets out an annoyed huff, as he sees their professor entering. He’s about to close his book, remove his textbook. But then he sees it. Sees what he has been scribbling for the past minute. It starts with Jimin’s name, small and cursive, then Yoongi’s and then Jin’s. There’s a small ‘Hobi’ written at the bottom of the page, and he has also unintentionally drawn a test tube beside the name. He had written Namjoon’s too, just beside Jin. Though what shocks him is the fact that he has written Jungkook’s name too. Not just once, not twice, or thrice. More than he can count. More than he had expected. The name is written neatly, handwriting clear, spelling clear.
He shuts his book, looking at Jungkook, who still has that toothy grin. This makes him realise he really needs to work on that antidote, or he’ll be done for life. Like, for real.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
“Hi.” Taehyung greets, and all Hoseok does is watch in confusion. “He is tagging along.” Taehyung points towards the pupp– Jungkook behind him. Who said he’s shy to say hi to Hoseok. Like fuck ‘he’s shy’.
“Hey Tae.” Hoseok steps aside, letting the duo– couple– inside. “Hi Jungkook, didn’t know you were shy.”
“Hi hyung.” Jungkook’s toothy grin is out. And Taehyung has seen that grin more times than he has seen Jimin this week, and it’s only Wednesday. Yesterday after his classes he was too tired to do anything, so he had skipped calling Hoseok, and slept instead. Waking up to thousands of messages from Jungkook. And a growl from Mitten because her sleep was disturbed because of his phone. Not his fault technically, considering he has given all his cats a room, but Mitten has to sleep just by his legs. She’s a nuisance, Taehyung had concluded long ago.
Taehyung had said that he might skip uni today, as he has to meet Hoseok due to important work. Jungkook had violently, in texts, with emojis, decided that he wanted to tag along. Like it's a trip. He hadn’t been able to exactly deny it because Jungkook had sent him two photos of him pouting, and like a cheap suit Taehyung folded. Hence, here they are. At Hoseok’s.
“What would you like to have?” Hoseok asks, as they both take a seat.
“Hot cho–”
“Taehyung.” Jungkook answers, bouncing.
Taehyung facepalms, Hoseok laughs.
“He’s all yours.” Hosoek says in between the laughter. And Taehyung really doesn’t appreciate that tone. “But can I entertain you with a drink for now?”
“I already had the cocktail Tae made, and I think everything else would just taste trash.” This makes another laughter bloom. And Taehyung really wants to commit a crime.
“Do you not drink water then?”
“That’s for survival. Or else I would’ve skipped water as well.”
“Taehyung.” Hoseok laughs, “you’ve grabbed a keeper. Never leave him.”
Taehyung almost throws the fish tank at Hoseok. But well, he really can’t pick it up with his noodle arms, huh.
“I would never give him a chance to even think he has to leave.” And the way Jungkook says it, makes Taehyung’s heart beat faster than he can imagine. He hadn’t expected that. Also, judging by Hoseok’s look, he hadn’t expected that either. They had no idea the love potion was this strong.
“I’ll just bring something to eat.” Hoseok says as he gets up, “Taehyung, would you mind helping me, please.”
“Oh, um, sure.” Taehyung says, walking behind Hosoek, but not before whispering a small, “watch the fish I’ll be right back,” to Jungkook. Earning himself another wide smile.
“Holy shit, what was that?” Hoseok says, once they’re away, in the kitchen corner. “I had no idea the potion was so strong.”
“I told you, Hosoek.” Taehyung sighs, slumping down on the floor, head in hands, “I don’t know what I’ve done, Hoseok. He keeps being like this.” Taehyung is almost about to cry, when Hoseok hands him a glass of water, “what if one day he wakes up un-potion-ed, and realises all the things he has done? He will hate me forever, hyung.” Taehyung sniffs quietly, it hurts Hoseok as well. Taehyung rarely uses honorifics with him, but when he does, it’s always serious.
“She’s working on it, baby.” Hoseok slides down beside him, hugging him sideways, “I’m sorry.”
“Not your fault.” Taehyung mumbles, quietly wiping away the tears. “I wouldn’t want to do this with Namjoon as well, ever.”
“I know.” Hoseok kisses his hair, “he is waiting for you, go.”
Taehyung nods, thanking Hoseok as he goes out, looking at Jungkook who’s quietly sitting and looking at the fish Taehyung told him to. This makes him want to cry again.
“Taehyung, you’re here.” Jungkook breathes in. coming ahead to hold his hand, “what happened?” Jungkook instantly cradles his face in his hands, “did you cry?”
“Onions,” Taehyung lies, and Jungkook nods in understanding.
“I can fight those!” Jungkook smiles, showing his biceps, “see those, only for you.”
And Taehyung, for the first time in a while, lets the laughter reach his ears.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
“Is it cold?” Jungkook asks.
Taehyung shakes his head, it is cold. He even sniffs, but he refuses to let Jungkook know that. The latter might make him wear the hoodie, and no, Taehyung will not do that. “I don’t need your stupid hoodie.”
“Wear this.” Jungkook insists, and Taehyung shakes his head yet again, “I’m not taking no for an answer, baby. You’re cold, just wear this, please?” Jungkook says ever so softly, “you can return this after, or-or keep it, I don’t mind, but just wear it, please.”
Taehyung is unable to say no, as he quietly huffs out. Annoyed that he has to wear Jungkook’s hoodie (not really).
They walk together to Taehyung’s apartment hand in hand, more like Jungkook saying he has to drop him off, he can’t leave Taehyung alone in the cold. And Taehyung almost asks what about him? What about Jungkook who will have to walk back to his own apartment in the cold?
But he never asks, as the guilt eats him up, it’s because of him Jungkook is acting like this. He did this to Jungkook. However, he never misses the flutter of his heart, when Jungkook kisses his forehead as a goodbye.
It makes him want to stay like this, just a little more.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
The next day, Jungkook insists they work on their history project together. And it’s really been a long time since the project has been assigned and neither of them have talked about it. If we leave the ‘witches’ part out, so Taehyung agrees.
“Why’s she called Mitten?” Jungkook asks, as they sit in his apartment, trying to get the project done, but Taehyung’s kittens love Jungkook too much to leave him alone.
“She’s soft as cotton.” Taehyung answers, pointing at the brown kitten, “but he already took that name, hence Mitten.”
“He’s cute.” Jungkook pets Cotton, who purrs, earning a growl from Mitten, “she’s spoiled.” Jungkook concludes, and Taehyung couldn’t agree more. It’s his fault anyways, he coddles her too much. “What are their names?” Jungkook asks, as he points at the other kittens, and the mother cat who has been glaring at Jungkook since forever.
Taehyung smiles, “that one, there?” Taehyung asks, pointing towards a grey cat, “I call him Mochi, he reminds me of Jimin a lot.” Jungkook laughs, Taehyung points at the other kitten, “that one? The black one? She’s Biscuit, she smells like one, sweet and all.” Jungkook laughs again.
“You sure have a talent for naming pets,” Jungkook snickers, earning a purr from Mitten.
“Shut up,” Nope, Taehyung’s ears are not red, “their mama is called Love, all of them love to be cuddled up in the guest room, and they hardly move around.” Taehyung explains, to which Jungkook nods, “and the little one over there.” The smallest kitten, who only growls at anyone who comes closer to him, “he’s kookie.”
“Cookie?” Jungkook asks, eyes wide.
Taehyung looks away, embarrassed, “Kookie with a K, he reminds me of you.”
Jungkook bursts out laughing again, “you named a kitten after me?”
“Shut up,” Taehyung says, but the corners of his lips turn upwards. Smiling along, as he sees Jungkook inching closer, slowly kissing his cheeks.
“I think I might love Kookie.”
And the smile Jungkook gives him is dazzling, one that Taehyung had no idea he would ever be able to witness. He looks away quickly, looking at Kookie, who doesn’t, like usual, growl at Cotton when he sleeps next to him. Instead, Kookie purrs. And that’s new.
Taehyung’s eyes almost water at that. Knowing this is all he wants. Kookie to be nice to other kittens, and Jungkook kissing his cheeks daily.
But he doesn’t get to want this, does he?
He doesn’t deserve it.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
One day, Jungkook stops by the gates of the university, waiting for Taehyung in the cold. Usually Taehyung would’ve been okay with it, because Jungkook, is of late, always doing this. But today is different, he had a rough day, with two of his professors saying that they’re disappointed in him, because he hardly pays attention in the lectures. And well, it’s difficult when there are hundreds of things running in his mind.
“Why are you here?” Taehyung really didn’t mean to yell, but he can’t help the way his voice sounds. He regrets it moments later, as Jungkook’s grin wavers. But he doesn’t want to take what he said back.
“To pick you up, come.” Jungkook lifts his hand forward so that Taehyung can hold it. Taehyung doesn’t, instead he starts walking ahead. Jungkook doesn’t force him, just starts walking behind him, quietly.
They walk for a few minutes in silence. With Taehyung almost crying over how bad the day was, hoping he could change it somehow.
“Here.” His thoughts are interrupted as Jungkook hands him a candy, a chocolate flavored one. “I usually eat one of these when I’ve had a rough day, it makes me feel a little better.”
Taehyung gives him a look, but takes the candy. It tastes good, “why?” Is all he asks, unable to say anything more. He doesn’t know what he’s even asking for.
“Taehyung, bad days are a part of our life.” Jungkook quietly slips his hand in Taehyung’s hands, “and we’re allowed to be upset, but when I saw you like that, I realised I hated when you’re upset, so maybe a sweet can compensate for a bad day.”
This makes Taehyung choke. No one has ever said something like this to him, he gives Jungkook a faux laugh, “do you think a candy would work?”
“Would you rather I kiss you?”
“Gosh!” Taehyung turns all red, laughing loudly, walking ahead.
“See at least you’re laughing for real.”
“Alright GenZ, walk fast.”
Taehyung shares the laughter with Jungkook, burying the negative thought that says “this is only for a few days, once the potion wears off, once he knows, it will be all over.”
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
The next few days pass by in a blur. Taehyung doesn’t feel as rebellious as he did, he tries to keep up with Jungkook’s pace. They study together, with Jungkook throwing corny pick up lines here and there, and of course with Taehyung replying uninterestedly. Though this time, he realises he’s only pretending to hate those. To despise them. The reality is far from the facade Taehyung has created. He wakes up everyday hoping to be smothered in Jungkook’s warm embrace. Holding hands as they walk around campus, or when Jungkook brings Taehyung his hot chocolate. Jungkook’s tastes way better than Hoseok’s.
Today is no different, except the snow seems a bit mad today. It doesn't usually snow there until December, so he passes it off as an early snow. He dreads walking to the University, but he can’t really miss the lectures. It’s exam season, and he also needs to be at the library as they are going to study French. Namjoon had volunteered to teach both him and Jungkook. Pretty quickly, Taehyung had realised he got confused between an F and a U.
Though it’s not as quickly as he realised that Namjoon indeed was a fleeting crush. Jimin was right. Jimin has always been right. He’s going to make sure Jimin eats enough sandwiches, because he deserves those.
Anyways, coming back to Namjoon. Taehyung thinks he has admired the elder a lot more than he liked him. He has mad respect for Namjoon’s nerdy abilities in science, and in languages. Maybe that is the one thing that made Taehyung believe he had an undeniable crush on Namjoon. Then comes the part where he was actually attracted to Namjoon’s humongous body. And Taehyung deduces he has always felt attracted to well built guys, and Namjoon was just one of them.
He has admired Jungkook’s body as well. From afar, even when they would fight. Jungkook wearing those tank tops should’ve always been illegal. Because he flexed his arms in those, Taehyung could just tell Jungkook took pride in knowing that his body was making people weak in the knees. Taehyung was one of them, but he would always mask it. Never really wanted to show it, up until now, when Jungkook is so open about his feelings.
It’s just the potion. Taehyung reminds himself. Just the potion, but it feels real. Everything feels real. He needs to do something before things escalate. Actually, he fears things might’ve escalated already. But he’s being a little selfish, and living it until the day comes when he has to finally say goodbye.
His phone buzzes, indicating Jungkook’s call. That’s another habit Jungkook had gotten him used to, calling randomly. Calling in the mornings to check up on Taehyung, it’s crazy, it’s lovely.
“Hello.” Taehyung greets as he grimaces at how groggy his voice sounds. He needs to freshen up and eat cereal.
“Hey.” Jungkook’s voice is breathy. It sounds like he was walking around in the snow. “Did you just wake up?”
“I did,” Taehyung gets up from his bed, opening his curtains, instantly shocked seeing Jungkook standing right in front of his window. “Jungkook?” He hears the hum. Jungkook doesn’t seem to notice he’s being caught, Taehyung looks at him kicking the stone, “are you here?”
And that’s when Jungkook looks up, face brightening up. More than a sun ever could, and Taehyung feels that stupid ache in his chest. His heart beats fast. He might as well just wear a smart watch so whenever his heartbeat quickens it would beep, telling Jungkook not to do things like this.
“I am, hi!” The toothy grin never seems to cease. “You look really pretty, baby.”
Hear the sounds? Yep, that's the beeping of the nonexistent smart watch Taehyung’s wearing. It should be illegal, actually in his opinion Jungkook should be illegal. Why are people getting to watch him for free?
“Come up.”
Taehyung hangs up the call, as he buzzes Jungkook in.
“What are you doing here so early?” Taehyung asks as soon as he lets Jungkook in.
“It snowed, so I thought I could pick you up.” Jungkook brushes Taehyung’s hair. And no, his ears are not red, look away guys, look away!
“You didn’t have to.”
“But I wanted to.”
“Okay.”
“Okay.”
So, Taehyung quickly gets ready, showering and changing to more appropriate clothing for college. When he’s done, he is shocked to see Jungkook had already poured some cereal for him in the bowl. He shouldn't be shocked really, considering Jungkook has been doing things for him, everyday. “These are my least favorite cereals.” He says to spite him. But like said before, Jungkook’s toothy grin never seems to cease around Taehyung.
“That’s okay.” Jungkook quickly replaces the bowl. Now adding the chocolate flavoured cereal Taehyung had kept in the top shelf, “I think you like this,” Jungkook nods to himself, “I can have this one.”
“You’re being nice.”
“I’m always nice to you.”
“Well, it’s not you, anyways.” And saying this hurts Taehyung. Because that’s not the real Jungkook. The Jungkook he knows is mean, salty towards him, and lame. But the Jungkook he’s gotten to know these past two weeks, is sweet, caring, romantic (a little bit–or more Taehyung won’t say), he’s responsible, and he’s everything Taehyung has ever wanted in a man.
“Can we go now?” Jungkook asks, hurriedly, “if the weather is better in the evening, I want to take you somewhere.”
“Where?”
“Just someplace, you’ll love it.”
And Taehyung has to bite his tongue to not let the ‘I’d love whatever it is, if it’s with you’ slip out, all he does is nods in response instead.

“I think we fucked up, big.” Hoseok paces around his living room. They hadn’t planned on letting things go south like this. They actually hadn’t planned on letting this plan go as far as it went. Hosoek tries calling Taehyung, who’s supposedly on a date with Jungkook, but he never picks up.
“I know.” The short guy replies, from where he lounges on the sofa. “I have no idea how to tell him.”
There’s a chorus of ‘me neither’ in the room, and everyone just falls into a silence of regret and guilt.
They thought it would be okay, it would be fun. Letting two lovers get together, would be the highlight of the college life they dreamt of, but they never thought that things might get this difficult. Hoseok didn’t think this through. He didn’t think about the consequences when he kept giving Taehyung the hot chocolate. He didn’t think this through when he told Taehyung the recipe for the ‘love potion’. He never thought he had to think this through. Because all he thought– all they thought was that it would be perfect. They’ll all be cupids, making two people finally realize that they were in love.
They were wrong.
“We were wrong.” Hoseok almost cries.
“But are you sure?” The taller guy interjects, having kept quiet until now.

Namjoon watches as Jungkook feeds Taehyung the ice cream they bought after finishing their study session. It’s cute. But he sees the way Taehyung’s eyes ever so slightly soften every time Jungkook says ‘ah’, and it’s really a sight to behold. A beautiful one, but there’s this guilt that eats him up. The guilt that instead of assuming things, instead of taking matters into his hands, he should’ve talked to Taehyung instead.
Jungkook gets up to pay for their ice cream despite Taehhyung reassuring he doesn’t have to pay for them all, but Jungkook doesn’t listen, he instead keeps walking towards the counter.
“He’s gone for you.” Namjoon says, hoping he’ll earn a positive response. Taehyung does nod, his ears turning red, but Namjoon is able to see the way his eyes betray him. They’re almost about to water.
“He is.” Taehyung says, looking away. “Namjoon, I’ve to tell you something.”
Namjoon raises an eyebrow, he might already know what Taehyung has to say, but he doesn’t intervene. He can’t intervene. “What is it?”
“I liked you,” Taehyung says honestly, and really Namjoon isn’t about to cut him to say something or deny anything, but Taehyung might’ve thought he was, so he speaks sooner, “I thought I did. But as time passed, and as I got swamped with studies and since Jungkook came into my life, I realised it was just attraction, and maybe mad respect about the man you are. And that’s all. I like you as a friend Namjoon, and I’m sorry if I ever made you feel uncomfortable.”
“You didn’t.” Namjoon shakes his head, “I’m glad you were able to come to terms with your feelings.” He smiles at him, earning a polite smile back, he sees Jungkook returning, “so do you like him?”
Taehyung turns around, smiling as Jungkook waves at them with both his hands, “maybe.” Namjoon sees the way Taehyung’s eyes shine, “he makes me feel like it’s worth living. He is too much sometimes, like a puppy, you know? But I like it that way. I like the way he is. I really do like it.”
“So…” Namjoon doesn’t have to say it, he shouldn’t. But he wants to know if they’re right, if he was right, “you love him?”
Taehyung turns a deep shade of red at that. Namjoon wants to laugh, it reassures him that he wasn’t wrong, really. Though before he can tease Taehyung about it, Jungkook returns.
“We should go, we might be late for the date.”
“Date?” Namjoon asks in amusement, the red is still there on Taehyung’s face.
“I’m taking him on a date.” Jungkook smiles ear to ear, “he will love it.”
“Oh?”
“I will most probably run away.” Taehyung says, but his tone holds no malice.
“He says that.” Jungkook laughs, “but I’m sure he means he’ll be so impressed after seeing the place that he would want to run away with me.”
Namjoon laughs at that, Jungkook joins in a second later. Taehyung only turns a shade of tomato as he walks out of the cafe.

“You brought me to watch the sunset?” Taehyung stares at the place in awe. It’s somewhere off campus, a ten minute walk. He has been to the canteen over there, but he had never dared to climb a little uphill to see such a beautiful place. The sunset from here looks marvelous, the sun is all big, red and angry, it’s setting down slowly, leaving a trail of red behind, with a light orange following. Taehyung had no idea sunsets could be as pretty.
“Yes.” Jungkook sits on one of the rocks. Thankfully, the snow has reduced, and the weather is pleasant. “ I discovered this during a photography assignment.”
“Oh.” Taehyung takes a seat as well, just beside Jungkook.
“You like it?”
And Taehyung has half a mind to throw a snarky comment, but he’s so lost in the beauty of the place that he lets the comment pass by, “I love it.”
“I knew you would.”
And Taehyung laughs, making Jungkook laugh as well. This is nice, he thinks. This is something he wants to always enjoy. But not alone, not with anyone else, only with Jungkook. Just with Jungkook.
And that’s when the thought enters his head, the question Namjoon had asked earlier in the day.
‘So you love him?’
He closes his eyes, enjoying the wind, the laughter that echoes. He realizes, he does, he does love him. He loves Jungkook more than he loved bickering with him. The thought sends shivers down his spine, he needs to undo this thing. He can take the hate Jungkook will give him after, but he prays Jungkook won’t tell him to stay away. Because he can suffer his wrath, but he can’t suffer from not being able to see Jungkook, at all.
“Let’s go back,” Taehyung mutters, making Jungkook confused, but he agrees instantly. Standing up, as he holds Taehyung’s hand. “I have to tell you something.”
“Me too.”
Taehyung doesn’t really wonder what it is. But, he does get curious, though the thought that he wronged Jungkook in a way, lead him to not think of anything else.

Once they reach Taehyung’s apartment, Jungkook is quick to pull Taehyung towards the couch. Mitten growls at Taehyung, but instantly shuts up as she sees Jungkook. That traitorous kitten. He shoos her away, to the room where he’s sure his other cats are. “Go to your mama, you silly child.”
And since Jungkook is here, she obeys instantly.
“I wanted to–”
“I was going to–”
They both start together, and Taehyung lets out a chuckle, “you can go first.” He says. This gives him more time to stall, Taehyung thinks. He is ready to tell the truth, but he’s not ready for the reaction, just a few more minutes. Until Jungkook speaks what he has on his mind.
“Sure?”
“Yes, go ahead.”
He sees Jungkook take a deep breath, the other comes closer, holding his hands. Quietly rubbing his thumb along the wrists. “I know it’s a potion.”
What?
Taehyung feels time stop. What did Jungkook say? “What?”
“I drank it willingly, Taehyung. I know it was a potion.”
“What?” Taehyung feels a little out of it. Jungkook knew all along, Jungkook knew. “You-you, didn’t–”
“Taehyung,” Jungkook shakes their hands, “listen to me.”
Taehyung feels his eyes getting blurry, if Jungkook knew, why would he not tell him? Why did Taehyung have to go through all of that? Why?
“Listen, baby.” Jungkook’s voice is soothing, soft. And Taehyung feels his heart flutter at the name. “I need to tell you everything from the start, but promise me you’ll listen, please.”
Taehyung blinks at him, slowly nodding. He doubts he’ll be able to speak without wanting to cry out loud.
“Okay.” Jungkook takes another deep breath, “I have liked you since high school, Tae.” Taehyung’s head snaps up to him.
“What!?”
“I did,” Jungkook laughs through his tears, Taehyung never noticed those, but now that he sees, Jungkook’s eyes are glossy as well, “I thought it was just a crush, that it would go away. But what was I supposed to do when you were there, just standing so beautifully, like-like the whole world was you?” Jungkook squeezes his hand, “Then we were paired up for that project. That-that was the first time we talked. You said you hated my lame jokes, and-”
“I didn’t mean it, I just wanted to be left alone for the project.” Taehyung intervenes.
“I know.” Jungkook laughs, “I was mad at first, like I was rejected by my crush at the age of fourteen,” Jungkook never stops drawing circles on his wrist, “but then I realised that you hated everyone in that class, and even if we hadn’t talked ever, you were obliged to.” another deep breath, “I did follow you, Taehyung. To the university, to the classes, if not being your date, or boyfriend, I would at least get to be your nemesis. And I loved doing that, bickering with you. I loved it so much, Tae, until-” Jungkook chokes, “until, I saw you going around Namjoon with those eyes of yours, and realised I needed to step up my game, to confess.”
“I never liked–”
“I know.” Jungkook squeezes his hands again. “That day of the party, I overheard Hoseok and Jimin talking about some plan. Something about a potion,” Jungkook looks him in the eye then, “I couldn’t let you do that. Couldn’t see that happening, so I thought if I drink it before Namjoon does, I might be able to have some- some courage to confess.”
“You had plenty after that.” Taehyung laughs through his tears, intertwining their fingers.
“I did.” Jungkook squeezes his palm, “After the potion everything felt hazy, I couldn’t even remember I drank it, until bits and pieces started coming back, when you were brewing the antidote, or when you mentioned a potion. I think the potion was going to wear off, sooner or later. And I don’t think it was a love potion.”
“Was it a feelings amplification potion?” Taehyung questions and concludes, because if Jungkook had hated him, it was impossible for someone to act so in love, or to suddenly turn into a love sick puppy, witchcraft or not.
“It was.” Jungkook nods. “And I think it wore off, or it might, when I do this.”
Jungkook pulls Taehyung a little closer and Taehyung willingly lets Jungkook do as he pleases. “I love you.”
The ground beneath Taehyung feels like its quicksand. Because now, Taehyung is able to fall. Fall without feeling the guilt, as he now lets out a choked sob. Jungkook hugs him tightly, “sorry, it took me so long, baby. I love you.”
“I love you, I love you so much Jungkook.” Taehyung cries. “I fell for you along the way. I never realised that I liked being with you so much, that I had to constantly pick a fight with you. I love you.”
“I know.” Jungkook smiles, “can I kiss you now? I’ve been dying to do it since–”
Taehyung cuts him off with a small peck of his lips, smiling happily after. Though, Jungkook is quick enough to regain his shock, as he holds Taehyung tightly, leaning in again to kiss him properly on the lips. “Gosh, I've wanted this for so long.” He says in between the kisses, Taehyung feels Jungkook’s hand moving up and down on his back, finally stops to hold his neck and Jungkook then pushes him against the couch, hovering over him.
“Jungkook.” Taehyung inhales, he feels Jungkook’s hand stop at his hip, as the other breaks their kiss, nipping at Taehyung’s neck. It’s as if all of Taehyung’s inhibitions are lowered when he hears those words come out of Jungkook’s mouth. Years of repressed feelings flood out making Taehyung feel wanton and like he has never wanted anything more than he does at this moment. He wants the man on top of him, as close as can be. “Jungkook, please.”
“What is it, baby?” Jungkook’s voice sounds an octave lower, and all Taehyung wants to do is embrace him more than he already is.
“I love you.”
Jungkook’s eyes softened at that, kissing his nose, “I love you, baby.”
They kiss again, slowly, “can we?” Taehyung asks, implying what he means, by thrusting his hip up, feeling Jungkook’s semi hard length.
“If you want to,” Jungkook thrusts back, earning a soft moan from Taehyung.
“I want to, please Jungkook.”
“Shh, baby, I’m here.”
The clothes are off quickly, Taehyung trembles, as he feels Jungkook length against his, breathing in the warmth of his Jungkook. “I love you,” he says again, earning more kisses on his collar bone.
“I love you,” Jungkook says, lubing up his fingers. Prodding at Taehyung’s hole, as he enters a finger slowly. Taehyung moans, mewls, and groans at the feeling. Mutters of Jungkook’s name being thrown around.
“I love you,” Jungkook says, as he opens the condom, putting it on. He enters Taehyung a minute later, slowly fucking in and out. “I love you.” He pace is fast, groaning every now and then, kissing Taehyung, swallowing all of his moans.
“I love you.”
They come together, moaning each other’s name. Kissing again, softly this time.
“I love you.”
“I love you.”

Hosoek, wallowed up in guilt, opens Taehyung’s door, only to be met with the smell of sex.
“Did they fuck?” Jimin pipes in.
Jin laughs, “are we late?”
“Told you, they’re disgustingly in love.” Namjoon chimes, their loud voices make Jungkook groan awake, quickly covering his and Taehyung’s body as he shoots the intruders a glare.
“What the fuck?” he yells loudly, making Taehyung wake up.
“What happe- what the fuck?”
“Haha.” Hosoek laughs, awkwardly, “we potion-ed you.”
And all the intruders receive is Taehyung’s white ceramic vase thrown in their faces.
After Taehyung and Jungkook are dressed, the group all sit together around the dining table, with Jungkook almost hovering over Taehyung’s space, and Jimin giving them looks. Taehyung also notices that Namjoon sneakily (or well, as subtly as he can) tries to hold Jin’s hand under the table. Yoongi sends heart eyes to Jimin, and Hoseok stares at his coffee mug.
“What is it?” Taehyung is the first one to speak. “What did you mean by ‘potion-ed you’?”
‘Well…” Hoseok starts, but is instantly cut off by Namjoon.
“That was my idea.” Taehyung looks at him, eyes wide, “I always thought you both had chemistry.” Namjoon points towards them, “so I asked Hoseok. And he said he had a recipe, or like a potion, to make you realise your own feelings.”
Hosoek nods, “the hot chocolate I gave you always, well it had a little bit of the potion, hoping you’d fall for Jungkook like that, but it never worked.”
“But-” Taehyung looks up at Hoseok, “didn’t you gave me the recipe to make a love potion for Namjoon?”
“I did.” Hosoek nods, “Jimin told me it can be a good idea, that you’ll make it and we’ll just have to give the potion to Jungkook.”
Taehyung glances at Jimin, “you?”
“Listen, in my defence.” Jimin raises his arms up, “we all knew Jungkook had a crush on you, and he was/is exactly your type, so all you needed was a little push. Namjoon was a goner for Jin, already.”
“You could’ve just told me?”
“Tell you what exactly?” Jimin asks, “that Jungkook is your type? You would’ve killed me instantly.”
“That is true.” Jungkook nods along, receiving a slap on his hand from Taehyung.
“We were just trying to get you two together.” Jin says, “we’re sorry for all the trouble we caused, because we really didn’t think this through.”
“Yeah.” Yoongi nods, “Namjoon called us one day, with this theory that ‘taekook are the it couple’ and I was in.”
“Wow.”
“But on the bright side…” Hoseok says, “you two are really together!”
“We are.” Jungkook smiles, “but why didn’t that potion work on Tae?”
“His recipe was wrong.” Jimin answers for Hoseok, “he kept adding the wrong type of candle wax.”
“Wrong?” Taehyung asks, surprised, “it was supposed to be red or pink, I added the red one.”
Jimin snickers, making Hoseok glare at him, “he kept on adding the pink one. It didn’t work like it should’ve, instead we’ve a theory that it worked opposite?”
“What?” Taehyung blinks! “So to reverse the potion on Jungkook all I had to do was add the same ingredients and instead of red add pink candle wax?”
“Well…”
They all avoid looking at him, and Taehyung is so frustrated he wants to throw ceramic vases at all of them.
“You’re all so fucking mean!”
“Hey!” Jungkook interjects, "at least we’re together because of the stupidity they performed!”
“At least one of you is a better person.” Jimin laughs.
“You lost brownie points on your sandwich, you asshole!” Taehyung cries. Well at least, they did get together at the end.
“But why did I feel the need to act like a love sick puppy if the potion only amplified my feelings?” Jungkook asks, curious. And even Taehyung has the same question. If the potion only amplified feelings, why did Jungkook act like he had been hit with the cupid’s bow?
“The potion messed with his cognitive filters— he spoke whatever crossed his mind, no hesitation, no regard for consequence. And his body? It just obeyed the first command his motor neurons fired, like impulse took the wheel before reason ever stood a chance.” Namjoon explains.
And everyone looks around, eyes wide, like whatever Namjoon said was idiocy.
“What?”
“Okay science nerd.” Hoseok shakes his head, “he means to say that after he took the potion Jungkook’s brain to mouth filter disappeared.”
Everyone’s ‘ah’ is heard. As if what Hoseok said was more accurate and more understandable. A minute passes, as they all sit in silence with their thoughts. Well Taehyung doesn’t like that, so he breaks it.
“Did he ever have one though?”
“Taehyung!”
Jungkook groans. Everyone groans.
“Stop being mean to your boyfriend!”
“Boyfriend? He didn’t ask me to be his boyfriend?”
“I just said I love you!”
“But did you ask?”
He wiggled his brows, mischievously. “I can ask righ—”
Safe to say, all five of them exited as Jungkook got down on his knee to propose Taehyung to be his boyfriend.
(Ew!)
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
A year later after their confession, or let’s just say relationship, Taehyung and Jungkook are widely known as the magic couple. Of course not everyone knows about the potion, but they took on the moniker because their new status was like magic. After all they went from ‘weren’t they bickering just minutes ago?’ to ‘How are they already kissing?’ in a matter of minutes— yeah, that kind of magic.
Taehyung loves it, absolutely. Nothing much has changed over the year, maybe Taehyung now has grey hair, and they’ve almost moved into Taehyung's apartment. Apart from that, everything is the same. Jungkook's the same.
“Taehyung will be presenting the next slide.”
Taehyung takes the stage and as he is about to speak, Jungkook roars loudly. “You look so smart right now. So hot!”
Taehyung almost facepalms, Jungkook earns a glare from their history professor, who smiles sheepishly.
“Shut up, Jungkook.” Taehyung mouths, “so, yeah, uh.. The GDP.. yeah, the cells, are….” Taehyung malfunctions, and isn't embarrassed until someone from the class loudly yells.
“It’s a History presentation, Taehyung!”
Taehyung is definitely killing (kissing) Jungkook later.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᡣ𐭩
Taehyung is the same as well, Jungkook thinks, but maybe he’s softened a bit around the edges. Like the other day, when Jungkook brought him his favourite snacks as they were studying for their finals, Taehyung had turned into a tomato.
“Thanks or.. Whatever.. I don’t know.” He had muttered, and earned a kiss, “oh, shut up.”and leaned in again to kiss Jungkook senselessly.
Yup, Taehyung had softened.
Jungkook loved him like that. Loved him however Taehyung was.
Even when Kookie now acts nice, or when Mitten growls at Taehyung but purrs when she sees Jungkook.
Jungkook loves Taehyung endlessly.
Without the potion. Without magic.
He just loves him.
