Ever since he'd first come into existence, Tangie had been told the same thing.
We've gotta get sold, we've gotta get bought.
That was his only purpose in this world. That was the only value he had- Whatever price someone put on him.
That was the only purpose as a teddy bear, his only truth.
Then, he didn't get sold. Even after well over a year of trying, he didn't get bought, and his hope was crushed when Mr. Winkle outright denied his sale.
He was then forced to look around him and realize that maybe, just maybe, Theodore had been wrong.
Maybe family is the real point.
