Chapter Text
Courage hasn’t been out of his room all morning. Normally he was up bright and early to get all his chores done so he could play football with his friends. This morning was different.
Joy looked at Harmony and then I.Q. as he walked into the kitchen still in his pajamas. “Have you guys seen courage?” Joy asked. Harmony and I.Q. both shook their heads. “Should we check on him?” Harmony asked. “Probably should.” Joy said.
They all walked out of joys flower and made their way to Courages home. Joy stood in front of the all door. A sense of dread washed over her for a slight second but she knocked on the door anyway. She knocked again, then a third time. Joy looked at Harmony and I.Q. worried.
“Should we just open it?” Harmony asked. Joys breathing hitched and then she nodded. Joy gently pushed opened the door and shouted “COURAGE!” Her and the others got no response back. Joy took a gentle step inside and then her and the others saw it.
Courage hanging from the ceiling. Blood gently dripping from his swollen neck. The 3 of them stepped back in horror. “Oh my god..” I.Q. said covering his eyes in fright. Joy let out a blood curdling scream, she pushed past Harmony and I.Q. Harmony walked over to the body but making sure he wasn’t too close. Harmony gently took courages hand, it was cold.
Harmony pressed the cold hand against his forehead and cried silently. I.Q. already left to go check on joy but Harmony stayed to examine the body. Courage’s body was so cold and lifeless, he was dead of course but this felt so different. Maybe because Courage was one of his best friends? Or maybe because he’s seen Courage in bad situations but not something like this.
Harmony got up on the chair that Courage was hanging bellow and carefully untied his poor neck. Harmony took Courages his limp body and placed it on his nearby couch.
Harmony walked over to Courages bedroom and yanked his blanket off his bed. He walked back into the living room and put it over Courages body. He gave him one last final hug and went to see joy and I.Q. Little did he know he would regret it.
