Chapter one : High school
Rosie
"Papi, I don't understand why we had to move here, you had a great job in Seattle" They have been in this car for hours and Rosie still couldn't stand to be in this cramped car for one more second. Her mom snaps her head towards Rosie, She prepared herself for the scolding, when her Dad spoke up.
"Hija! For the hundredth time the animal attacks were too much for the Forks police station to deal with, and Chief Swan was kind enough to offer me a Deputy of Chief position. It more than I was making and your Mami got a great job at the middle school!" okay so what he said is definitely true, but it doesn't mean that Rosie had to like it. "You realize starting high school is already hard enough?"
"What is that suppose to mean?!" Rosie's Mother practically screeched, "Mi, amor, you know that Rosie is just nervous, please don't yell at her" Mr. Alvarez was rubbing his wife's back while giving his daughter a subtle wink.
Rosie couldn't help but roll her eyes, they still acted like teenagers in love "At least you get your very own room, that doesn't have an hole from your brothers!" That was definitely a plus in Rosie's book.
She has 3 older brothers, all of them at least 10 years older than her, she was a "surprises" as her brother Tony loved to point out when he still lived in their childhood home. He moved out about 2 years ago after he finished college. Being that much younger than all of her brothers meant hearing about all of the fun vacations and family stories that happened before she was born, sometimes it felt like she was hearing stories from an entirely different family.
"Oh honey! I almost forgot to tell you, you know about Charlie already but do you remember Billy?" Her mothers body was turned towards her expecting an answer. "I think sooo?" Rosie had no clue who that was.
"He's one of my friends hija, he's the one who helped us buy that house on the reservation after I took the job!" Nodding her head she waited for her father to finish the story. "Yes! Well his son was kind enough to offer to show you around the school during your first week!" Rosie's mom was beaming while she told her the "amazing" news
"Is he a Freshman too?" The silents that took over the car was deafening "Well?!" Her father just shook his head
"No I can't that so embarrassing! He definitely only doing it because his dad is making him." Slumping down into the back seat, head in her hands "Its really not all that bad, hija!"
Rosie just popped her earbuds in and closed her eyes. This felt like the end of her social life, Rosie left behind all of her friends and had only just started to get use to the new high school schedule.

Seth
"LETS GOOOO!" He was shoving his algebra textbook into his backpack as he tried to be as quick as possible "I LOVE YOU, BUT IF YOU DON'T MOVE IT I'M GOING TO LEAVE YOU HERE AND YOU CAN WALK TO SCHOOL, I'M NOT GONNA BE LATE AGAIN!"
Seth practically throws himself down the stairs "I'm sorry Leah, I took longer finishing my homework this morning than I thought I would." Leah was already walking out the door, keys in hand.
"You know you could just finish your homework after school." She yanks the driver side door shut the same time he opens his "I had to finish my dual credit English assignment last night, and when I finished it I was too tired, plus who knew those 5 math problems would take that long!"
Leah just laughs "Its your fault, you could've taken regular Freshman English, you chose to take a higher level class" Seth yanked his seatbelt on "But this can go towards college credits after I graduate!"
Leah rolls her eyes, pulling out of their drive way
About 10 minutes later Leah pulls into the High School Parking Lot "Have a good day, don't be a dud! " Seth grimes, Leah just had to yell that! "Love you too bye!"
Walking through the doors, his best friend Jacob was standing next to Quill and Jared who all seem hyped about something "What's got Jared all excited?" Quill basically leaps on top Seth.
"You haven't heard?! There's a new girl!" He slaps Seth's shoulders "Oh yeah, what's her name?" turning towards Jacob and Jared
"Its Daisy or something." Jacob smacks Jared on the back of the head "You know its Rosie, don't be an ass!" Jared clearly didn't like that, he was basically shaking, he turns, stomping away.
Jacob just sighs "Don't mind Jared he's had a short fuse lately, I have to go show the new girl around, see you guys."
"I guess I'll go to class..." Quill awkwardly walks away, the incident with Jared really making the mood of the group shift
Seth walks up to his first class of the day, Biology, Mr. Summerhill was sitting as his desk reading a Robert A. Heinlein book, he head moves up catching Seth's eyes before checking his watch "Wow, you're on time today, even early!" Seth couldn't help but laugh
"I'm always on time, it's not my fault you class is so far away from the front doors." Mr. Summerhill scoffs "Then that's not on time, Mr. Clearwater."
"Ew, don't call me that, makes me sound old." That makes his teacher laugh out loud "Trust me Seth you're anything but old, you're a baby, how old are you,15?" That makes Seth grimace
"I'm 14..." Seth said barely a whisper. "Exactly a baby! Now go sit down I'm reading."
Classes went by quickly, it was already lunch and Seth went to his usual table, no one else was there yet. Seth starts to look for his friends when he sees Jacob talking to a very resistant girl who clearly doesn't want to be in this cafeteria, maybe even this school. That's when the girl turns around and leaves the cafeteria, Jacob just sighs and heads toward the table right as Quill sits down. 'Bro where did you come from?" The girl was pretty, but also sort of forgettable.
"I wasn't even quiet, you were just being nosy!" Quill continues to tease Seth "Oh be quiet! I was just looking for you guys!"
Jacob thumps down on the bench "I need to stop being the welcome comity, I'm no good at it." That makes Quill and Seth laugh "Don't bring up Bella again, Please!!"
Quill stands up to only get on the floor in a kneeling position with is fingers intertwined as if to beg Jacob. "Cut it out! God you can be so thickheaded sometimes!"
The rest of the day goes by, and Seth head over to Billy Blacks truck with Jacob, "Don't forget son we have to take Rosie home today, her dad doesn't want her walking home by herself!" Jacob groans
"Dad, Rosie hates me there is no way she's gonna get into this truck unless you tell her." Billy shakes his head "Alright that's fine but you're driving today, my backs killing me!"
It took them 15 minutes to find her waiting by the doors that are suppose to be the pick up line, no one use that, and another 5 for Billy to convince her to get in the truck.
That car ride was the most awkward moment of Seth Clearwater's life, the tension could be cut with a butter knife.
He finally got home, only Harry Clearwater was sitting on the coach with Leah screaming at the football gaming going on. Choosing to just go straight up to his room to finish his world history homework, taking him longer to finish than he thought it would. That's when Leah stops by his room to let him know that the would be going to a bon fire tonight and to get ready.
The bon fire felt different like the elders where trying to warn the group. Sam Uley wouldn't stop starring at Jacob and Quill which was freaking the group of boys, that what he did with Paul, Cameron, and most recently Jared, but they would only find that out in the following week.
