“My brother would have you believe I am a monster. Your father even more so.
I
would describe myself as… an opportunist.”
“You use the Lord’s people to do your bidding.”
Lucifer laughs. “As though He doesn’t also? What is humanity if not a plaything for your
God
to entertain Himself with?”
“He loves us all.”
“That’s what He says. You go along because you’re afraid of getting hurt.”
Jesus sighs. Lucifer scoffs in response.
“Oh, go on, Son of God,” he implores. “Tell me how the Heavenly Father shows his ‘love’.”
“He keeps us healthy and free.”
“...Perhaps that is correct.”
Jesus is stunned for a second.
“For you humans,” Lucifer says. “Angels have no choice. The sinners today are fortunate, for they are not made slaves at the moment of consciousness. They can be ‘saved’.”
“What makes you think you cannot be saved?” Jesus asks quietly.
“Because I am truly free. I need no savior.”
