He was crying, big fat tears rolling down his cheeks tears in his mouth. It was too much. His heart would exploded if he had to hear one more word. He couldn't even look at her, his brain was fogging up.
“Please…” He wasn't sure if it was a question or a plea. “Don’t do this princess.” She shuddered at his nickname for her.
“Harry…” she choked out. Pushing back the sobs willing them not to come out. Her blues eyes glistening with unshed tears ready to fall like a damn. “I just...”
“Cant what?!” He looked at her an anger consuming him. He loved her so much, wasn't that enough. “Baby, princess please.” He reached out for her so close but so far away. She stepped back her arms hugging herself. She was so small and fragile he would do anything for her.
“I just can’t do it anymore.” She squeaked.
“Pansy.”
“It’s too much for me. Having to live with the guilt of wanting to give you to that monster. People hexing me on the street.” Pansy took a deep breath she was crashing out. “Molly sending me howlers telling me that I need to leave you.” Her face was red and she was shaking. “Im constantly always doubting myself, always watching my back. Your friends hate me. Am I enough?”
Harry closed the distance between them thankful that she let him hold her. As her sobs came racking from her small frame he cradled her to him. Holding on to her as if she was his life line. Harry always knew it was to much. He was the savior of the wizarding world the fame followed him and those around him.
“Princess we’ll get through this.” He kissed the top of her head. The smell of honeysuckle and davana engulfing his lungs making him think clearer. “Fight for me. For us.”
Pansy pulled back from his embrace. Her short black hair curling at the ends and her shirt was rumpled from hugging herself.
“Harry I need to do this for me. I am not well. Im so scared.”
“What are you so scared of?”
“Everything.” She sounded so defeated.
“Pansy is my love not enough?”
“It’s me Harry. Im fucked up. I hate me.” Her confession a mere whisper. “I cant forgive me.”
Pansy looked at him for the first time that night blue meeting green eyes both so full of sadness. His heart stopped and he saw the scared girl from the great hall terrified of her future. He closed his eyes a panic overtaking his senses. She was good and brave, why couldn't she see the way he saw her. Before he could tell her she walked towards him raising up on her tippy toes and kissed his watery cheek.
“Im sorry Harry.”
A crack.
Pansy disapperated leaving him alone.
