Malia loves the way soil and grass feels underneath her paws as she runs around Melissa's front yard. The sprinklers cooling her down in the heat and wetting her fur. She nips at Theo's ankles when he passes her and snickers as well as a coyote can when he gives her a snide look. They go back and forth chasing each other before Malia pins Theo down with a paw on his face. His paws kick under her and she gasps gently when he manages to kick her off. A small growl slips from Malia's throat when she hears the pack laugh as they watch them. Malia gets up and gently bites at Theo's side to get him moving again.
They play for a couple more minutes before Melissa calls for them to come inside and get some food. Theo takes off into the house, Liam follows him with Theo's clothes. Malia watches as the rest of the pack follow them inside. She stays put, the sprinklers turning off and the sun shining of her light brown coat of fur. Kira stops and tilts her head to the front door, questioning. Malia shakes her head, water dripping off of her as she does.
The stairs creak quietly as Kira walks down them and onto the front lawn. She stops in front of Malia and pats her on the head gently. "You okay?" Kira asks, voice soft like silk or a field of flowers —Malia wants to roll around in it and stay there for eternity.
Malia licks Kira's hand and grins when Kira makes a small noise of disgust. Kira pushes Malia away by the snout, Malia yips loudly at her, receiving a giggle from Kira.
"Okay, okay." She says through her laughter. Kira glances around the front yard before her eyes fall to the small flower patch Melissa keeps. She gasps lightly as an idea pops into her head, "I know, flowers." She says smiling before walking over to the flower patch and plucking two singular daisies from the garden. Malia throws a quick glance at the front door before turning to watch Kira.
The smile Kira wears on her face is as delicate and gorgeous as the flowers in her hand —Malia wants to soak it up like she does with the sun beaming down on her skin. Kira kneels before Malia and with a gentle hand tucks one of the daisies behind one of Malia's ears. She laughs when it falls off Malia's ear. Kira puts it back carefully, placing a small kiss to Malia's forehead. A wolfish grin finds itself on Malia's face.
Kira hands the other flower to Malia, she takes it between her teeth gently. Malia places it behind Kira's ear, she stops and stares at her, gorgeous. Kira grins back at her, "You're beautiful Mal." Kira whispers. Malia yips at her again and pushes her snout into the side of Kira's face.
"You two coming in?" Chris asks from the door way, a warm smile on his face.
Kira nods, "yup!" She stands, motioning for Malia to follow her, she does. Malia would follow the girl anywhere, the girl of Malia's dreams.
