Chapter Text

Prologue

To prevent his crumbling kingdom from being annexed or destroyed, Prince Kim Taehyung agrees to a marriage alliance with King Jeon Jungkook, a young and formidable ruler recently crowned after a bloody power shift. The marriage is not romantic—nor is it welcomed. It's political, born of desperation. A transaction.

But unknown to Taehyung, he is walking into a palace already occupied — not by a Queen, but by Lina, a refined and beautiful Omega who holds Jungkook’s affection, body, and trust. Though not his wife or consort, Lina is the one Jungkook turns to for comfort, and their private bond makes Taehyung’s presence feel like a betrayal—not to the King, but to the woman who came before him.

In the royal court, it is not illegal for a King to keep lovers or future consorts. But Taehyung is the official spouse. The crown sits on his head. The titles belong to him.

The King’s heart does not.
