Hayeon was panting heavily, her vision cloudy with tears, holding onto Yubin for dear life with trembling hands.
“W-why?” Hayeon said brokenly between cries. “Why would you do that?!”
Yubin was dazed, spitting out water and taking hacked breaths.
“Unnie… why?” Hayeon sobbed into Yubin’s back. “I can’t do this without you.”
“…too much… too loud…”
“Huh?”
Nothing else came from Yubin who turned around in Hayeon’s loosened hold.
“I wanted… some quiet.” Yubin said with a broken smile as Hayeon looked at her in shock.
The younger girl cried more and pulled Yubin into a tight hug.
“Hey, I just tried to kill myself.” Yubin said in disbelief. “Wow, my lights nearly went out.”
Hayeon kept crying and Yubin caressed her back.
“I am still here, it’s okay. A little delirious but I am okay.”
“Promise, you won’t do it again.”
“I don’t think I can promise that, Hayeon-ah.” Yubin said a humorless smile on her face. “I w-wish I could.”
Her throat started to become dry and tears pricked at the corner of her eyes.
“I am sorry. I am so sorry!” She clung to the younger girl and sobbed.
