Chapter Text
As of a week ago, Louis de Pointe du Lac had been officially engaged to Lestat de Lioncourt.
For the week they were in a blissful haze. The knowing looks of what’s to come, Louis showed off the big stone his alpha had placed on his finger, and Lestat walked around town with the younger omega in his arms, letting everybody know that they were engaged to be wed.
Louis felt like he could burst simply from the joy of a promise, of a marriage to come with the alpha he never knew he’d ever get.
But then came the wedding planning and Louis’s blood pressure had never been the same.
“A wedding in June would be much more tasteful,” scoffed Florence, placing her ceramic tea cup with a light force enough to make a statement. “The gardenias will be in bloom. Just imagine the church pews covered in gardenias. Remember your second cousin Mary’s wedding? What a beautiful bride she was with all the gardenias!”
“But July just makes more sense, mama!” Louis firmly stated, hands gripping the edge of the oak table. “It’s after the fiscal year closes, the shops and vendors are much more lenient with their pricing and the sun hits better for photos.”
“June weddings are blessed more by the saints! It is why June brides are blessed with many children.”
“I met Lestat in July! And I’m the one marrying him, I don’t care about superstitions or whatnot.”
“George!” she snapped, getting the attention of the de Pointe du Lac patriarch. “Back me on this, your son insists on a July wedding!”
The steely eyes of George then looked between his wife and son. “I, ah, do not see an issue in either month my dear.”
“Helpless!” she cried out. Florence then glared at Louis. “You used to listen to me, is this what’s going to be after you get married? Just you running your mouth off and disrespecting your mother?”
Louis let out a tight sigh through his nose, trying not to scowl. “Mama, it’s not about not listening—”
“It’s about respect,” she snapped, her voice slicing clean through the midday air like a knife. “And tradition. A June bride is proper, it is tasteful, and we already sent a letter to your grand aunt about to clear out her June!”
This got Louis’s attention, he stood up, pushing his chair to the back with a thud. “Why would you—”
“I hate to interrupt this lively domestic squabble,” said Lestat, finally cutting into the two prideful omegas, his voice was light and confident, but at the same time tantalizingly sweet as if to appease to his fiancee and future mother in law. “Perhaps a breather is much needed, how about I take my lovely omega out for some ice cream? There’s this shop near my home that I heard the lemon sorbet was to die for.”
Louis blinked, startled—but grateful. “I—yes, actually, that sounds like a good idea.”
“Not your omega,” the stern voice of Florence came in. “Not yet, until the wedding.”
“Which is why we need to talk it more amongst us two first, Madame,” he gave a charming smile to Florence. “The sooner we smooth out the details, the sooner we are a family, non? We will let you know if we have decided on anything.”
Florence opened her mouth, but Lestat had already pulled Louis gently to his feet with a hand on his lower back.
“We will be back for dinner, I promise to bring back your son in one piece,” said Lestat as they left the room together, going to the direction of where Lestat’s car had been parked.
===
Louis had prided himself to be an omega immune to the sleazy grubby hands of Alphas, nor was he an omega who trips themselves over the sight of single and eligible Alphas. As the eldest son and only omega child of his father—George de Pointe du Lac.
His father was an alpha who owned considerable businesses of lodging and hotels near liberty street catered to black people and foreign travelers. He also hustles on the side, doing business with the white folks of gambling houses and clubs that also sell liquor, play music, and also whore out other omegas.
When the time comes, Louis knew that he’d be the next in line to handle the family’s finances despite his status as an omega. His brother Paul who was a beta wasn’t seen as ‘trustworthy’ in the eyes of his father. Grace, who was also a beta, was much too soft when it comes to coming head to head with other alphas.
Not Louis though. He took it as a challenge, dealing with business and one day taking it over.
So George brought Louis from time to time in his business meetings and whatnot. If Louis wanted to survive as a businessman and the future executor in charge of the de Pointe du lac family trust despite his status as an Omega, he had to be smart and keep relationships with many wealthy alphas as strictly professional. He had to pretend that the wet soldering looks of the alphas weren’t bothering him, weren’t disgusting him to his core. He had to look them in the eye and not fall for their petty intimidating tricks, nor explode at their unsavory and demeaning remarks.
He had learned to not trust any alpha. Any idea of romance and courting had been thrown away. In the age of twenty-four, he already knew his place in this world and it's to be stern and unfeeling for the sake of his family.
But that was until he met Lestat de Lioncourt.
Lestat had landed in New Orleans, a French blond foreigner walking in the streets with clothes belonging from a different century. His arrival had been explosive at the very least, a foreigner who came from old money and titled lands. He arrived to the city for a short visit, a vacation with a willingness to diversify his usual investment portfolio if a business came to be.
He was an alpha and everybody knew the moment you entered his vicinity. His stance was strong, his demeanor nothing short of confident, and his charm seemed endless. So it wasn’t a surprise when the businessmen and city ordinance of white alpha men had invited him for a night of poker.
An invitation that happened to be extended to George as well.
George was simply invited because Alderman Fenwick wanted to discuss business with him, to take a small cut of a share while George took majority of the menial labor. Lestat had been there, calling out the unfair proposition with a flair of feigning innocence, using the difference of culture to mask his animosity.
He had also sent a subtle signal to George amidst poker, letting George go home with a generous amount of winnings.
As a thank you, George had invited Lestat de Lioncourt to his family’s estate for dinner the next night. Where George would love to offer a business proposition to this strange foreign man.
When Louis heard of such an invitation, he heeded no mind, thinking it was just another older alpha who was looking to scrape any penny from the hands of his hardworking father.
So when Louis had opened the door to their home one time, answering the insistent ringing of the bell, he was surprised to see the sight of a tall and older blond alpha, his gaze strong and steely. His scent was intoxicating.
Louis had been enamored the very first moment they met.
Dinnertime, the looks shared between them did not go unnoticed by anyone at the dinner table. And Louis, at that moment, didn’t care. He can’t lift his gaze away from the man. The omega had a hard time believing that a man could even be real.
And Lestat had a similar look in his eyes. He wanted Louis as much as he wanted him.
That very night, Lestat decided to take root in New Orleans. Partly for agreeing to do business with George de Pointe du lac, but mostly because he had asked to court George’s omega son.
George had been astounded that this thirty-four year old foreigner who had omegas and betas alike tripping over their feet begging for a lick of attention wanted to court his son. He buried deep feelings of possessiveness over family, swallowed his pride and agreed on Lestat’s askance of courtship. Both for the future of his business, and for the happiness of his son who had eagerly pressed his ear against the door of his home office.
Lestat had then bought Rue Royale, a home fit not only for a bachelor but for a family one day.
Louis had accompanied Lestat as he furnished his townhouse. He had also teased Lestat enough to have him visit the tailors and purchase a brand new and updated wardrobe. The courtship was easy between them, friendship taking place along with their inclination of romance.
So when Lestat had asked him for his hand in marriage three months later, he had immediately said yes.
===
“I thought we’re here to discuss our wedding—” Louis let out a gasp as Lestat dived into his neck, loudly breathing in right at his scent glands.
They were both in Rue Royale, on the velvet-lined couch of Lestat. The omega could feel his back sink into the plush upholstery, the cushions were gentle and comforting. The softness cradled his back, whereas the heavy and solid figure of his alpha’s heat and hunger pressed into him. Lestat’s weight settled on top of him and in between his clothed legs, he moved slowly and deliberately, bracketing Louis and entrapping his body between the two.
“We are, mon cher, ” his lips moving against the skin of Louis’s neck. Louis can’t help but yelp and tighten his hold around Lestat’s neck tighter, the locks of his golden hair cascading to his arms and Louis is enthralled with the sensation of wanting more and more. “I am here to show you what comes after our wedding night.”
“Lestat!” Louis choked out, though his voice lacked conviction.
The alpha had taken this as an invitation to lick the column of Louis’s neck. And Louis can’t help but cry out, the sound torn from him like something primal. His fingers curled tighter into Lestat’s shoulders, nails just beginning to press through the fabric.
“Tell me how much you want me,” Lestat murmured, lips brushing over the pulse point on Louis’s neck.
Louis took Lestat’s head into his hands and pressed a searing kiss into his lips, chasing him, biting him. I want you, I want you, I want you. He can’t find it in himself to tell Lestat, but the growing passion, the overcoming heat, and the suffocating scent of hunger and need was in the air. The feverish growling need to consume the alpha that has always been meant to be his. The slick had begun to flow out of Louis in earnest waves, soaking through his trousers, warm and humiliating, soaking even into the lush, expensive velvet of Lestat’s precious couch.
Lestat finally turned his lips away from Louis with a wet gasp, throwing his head back and taking a deep deliberate gulp of air. Only then did Louis realize he was panting, his own breath coming in shallow, trembling bursts. His lungs burned. When had he forgotten how to breathe?
The alpha’s eyes flickered open, his gaze wild and blue, and a slow knowing smirk graced his face, spreading across his gorgeous and ethereal face.
“Oh, mon Louis,” he purred, grinding his clothed hips into the mess between Louis’s legs. A particularly hard thrust and that had the omega writhing, whimpering, underneath him. And once again, Louis found that breathing was merely a suggestion, especially when all he could think about was the weight of Lestat’s alpha body above him, pressing down on him. “Lose yourself to me, what is holding you back, mon cœur ?”
Louis whimpered, overwhelmed, and torn. His fingers trembled on Lestat’s shoulders, caught between clutching and pushing away.
But Lestat continued, relentless in his tenderness. Louis closed his eyes as Lestat’s giant hands had wandered underneath his dress shirt, warm palms cupping his chest and stomach as if he wanted to memorize every single inch of Louis’s body. The grind of his hips slow and deliberate, drawing soft, strangled sounds from Louis with each and every motion.
Louis can’t help but meet him, allowing a rhythm to follow them as he raised his hips at every circling motion Lestat does. The pressure of Lestat’s cock through his trousers made Louis dizzy. He couldn’t see it—but God, he could feel it. The shape, the weight of it, the barely restrained hardness—it drove him mad with need, the knowledge that Lestat wanted him just as much, if not more
Louis’s hand stayed tight around Lestat’s neck, clinging, anchoring himself to the man above him. His other hand wandered the broad expanse of Lestat’s back, scratching in frustration, desperate to feel skin, but met only with the frustrating barrier of fabric. Still, he raked his nails down the clothed spine, earning a growl that rumbled from deep in Lestat’s throat.
Then Lestat shifted again, impatient, his hands fumbling at the buttons of Louis’s shirt with a rough hunger barely restrained. His mouth never stopped its path and continued on with kissing, mouthing, nipping up the edge of Louis’s jaw until his lips brushed just beneath his ear. When he spoke, his breath was hot and damp against flushed skin.
“I want to see you,” he whispered, voice like velvet over steel. “ I want to feel you. All of you.” His fingers danced on the buttons of Louis’s shirt, slowly unbuttoning them one by one, until the skin of Louis’s chest came in view.
Lestat wasted no time to place his mouth on one of Louis’s nipples, his hand cupping and massaging his other breast. Louis can’t help but gasp, his legs wound tight around Lestat’s hips, trying to bring him closer and closer.
When he felt the other hand of Lestat wandering to his pants, trying to unbutton it as well, Louis mustered all of his strength to push him away.
Lestat was stunned, drool dribbling to his chin. The cool wetness on his nipple made Louis shiver, knowing where Lestat’s mouth had been latched onto just one moment ago.
“We can’t,” he finally managed to say, the words fragile and unsure, the omega inside Louis begging for Lestat to take him all the way. His vision was hazy with the desire consuming his entire being, barely seeing Lestat through his half lidded eyes. “Not until we’re married…”
And Lestat stilled.
But not in retreat.
His body, flush and pulsing with heat against Louis’s, didn’t pull back. Instead, his hips pressed in deeper, harder, grinding with a slow roll that forced a helpless moan from Louis’s throat. Lestat’s hand slipped lower, slipping the last of the shirt’s buttons undone in one practiced motion, splaying the fabric wide to reveal more and more of Louis’s chest.
Louis’s breath hitched, shuddered. He could barely look at him, but the fire in Lestat’s eyes was unbearable, too much and not enough all at once.
Lestat splayed his hand on top of his chest, large and domineering. The size of it, the weight and pressure, on top of Louis’s chest just reminds him just how big his alpha is. And that the size doesn’t end with his hands, but also barely restrained inside Lestat’s trousers.
“You say that,” Lestat murmured, his voice honeyed and dark, “but your body knows me already. Your scent, your slick— mon Dieu , Louis. You’re ready to be mine.”
Louis whimpered, back arching as Lestat’s mouth descended to his collarbone, biting lightly, then soothing the mark with his tongue. Louis’s hands found their way to Lestat’s hair and the back of his shirt, tugging him closer, keeping him close as his lips let out shaky moans.
“We can’t…” Louis whispered again, barely audible in between his gasps, as if his voice was betraying him, lost in the haziness of the scent of their pheromones mingling together. His fingers trembled in Lestat’s hair, tugging them and trying to get Lestat’s attention. He raised his torso to meet Lestat’s body, resting his forehead against Lestat’s, their breaths mingling, hot and shaky.
Lestat took a deep and long breath, the hot air fanning against Louis’s face. He hummed, considering. Louis can still feel the restrained hardness in the alpha’s trousers. His palms resting on Louis’s chest, warm and grounding.
Could he feel the way Louis’s heart hasn’t calmed down? The way his own heart flutters and beats like a loud drum under the alpha’s gaze and wandering hands?
“I know, mon cher,” Lestat murmured again, his voice a low rumble in his chest. “But I am not taking liberties a husband would, non?”
His palms slid just slightly lower, still resting on Louis’s chest, but this time, his thumbs brushed faint, maddening circles over his nipples, coaxing another breathless gasp from Louis’s lips. The omega's legs tightened instinctively around his hips, grounding them together again in the heat of their shared restraint. Slick came out of him in waves, suffocating them with the raw scent of want.
“We are not doing anything wrong,” Lestat continued, his forehead still pressed to Louis’s, his tone full of dangerous affection. His fingers then wandered below, palming Louis’s own erection, then pressing two fingers to the source of the soaking slick.
It wasn’t enough.
Louis wanted to feel those fingers inside of him.
“No claiming, no knotting, no mark. Just…” Lestat then paused, brushing a kiss to Louis’s cheek, then lower, toward the pulse racing at his throat. His fingers pressed deeper into where Louis’s hole was, separated by the wet and damp cloth of his own trousers. “…enjoying each other’s company.”
Louis trembled. He could feel the words, not just hear them, felt them in the weight of Lestat’s body above him, in the way the Alpha held himself in check despite the thick, unrelenting pressure of arousal between them both.
“You want me,” Lestat breathed, voice darkening slightly, velvet and smoke. “And I want you. I can feel it, taste it in the air. Your scent is so sweet, Louis… soaked through these pretty trousers just from me grinding against you.”
Louis shuddered, overwhelmed, the ache of need returning to his core. “But if we go too far—”
“We won’t .” Lestat’s voice was firm, but not unkind. His nose brushed against Louis’s, lips ghosting over the corner of his mouth. He then pressed a kiss, and then two, on the corner of his mouth before devouring Louis’s lips. Their tongues dancing. Louis can’t help but whine into the kiss, as Lestat’s hand twisted one of his nipples, while the other palmed Louis’s erection. Louis can’t help but wound his hold around Lestat’s neck tighter, holding on for his life.
“I know mon cher, ” he then whispered against Louis’s lips, their mouths brushing as he spoke. “I respect that you only want to… consummate after our wedding. But let me have this, let us have this. Let me make you feel good, my Saint Louis. There’s no harm in a little fun .”
His hips rolled once more in a hard and deliberate thrust. Louis threw his head back moaning, exposing his throat to Lestat once again. His breath came in slow stutters as their clothed lengths met again.
“I can already tell,” Lestat whispered, pressing his teeth against Louis’s throat. “That you want this as much as I want it too.”
Louis can’t find himself to speak. He tried to muster all the strength to nod, while bringing Lestat more to his neck. His fingers curled tightly into Lestat’s hair, nails lightly scraping his scalp. Lestat then nipped and nibbled on his throat, enough to taste his skin, not enough to break it and claim and mark him as his mate.
The friction between them was unbearable now, cloth against cloth, heat against heat, Lestat’s hips rolling with measured precision that spoke of his near-limitless control, and Louis, trembling beneath him, caught between the aching sweetness of denial and the irresistible pull of pleasure. He can’t even meet his thrusts anymore, the strength on his legs dissipating, wound tightly and just letting it fall in between Lestat’s body keeping him closer and closer.
Every grind, every motion sent a thousand sparks jolting up Louis’s spine. His soaked trousers clung to him obscenely, the fabric tight and sticky with slick, every inch of his skin burning whenever Lestat wandered his hands, palming and holding him. Each contact lighting his skin on fire faster than he can comprehend, his neck, his chest, his stomach, his clothed ass, it felt everywhere.
Lestat’s own hard cock, thick and insistent that even through the layers of clothing, Louis could feel it was dragged against his own.
Their lips met again, the kisses were getting even sloppier, more desperate. His tongue meeting Lestat’s own, licking into each other’s mouth, their lips chasing each other and wet, their teeth biting each other’s lips making it bleed. The taste of iron entered Louis’s senses and he just wanted more.
His hands were clawing and scrabbling down Lestat’s expansive back. His other hand tangled in Lestat’s golden hair, tugging and pulling until he could hear the Alpha hiss in between their kisses. It was maddening, the way they moved so desperately towards each other, fevered and yet restrained all at once. Their breaths in synch, their hips moving towards one another, and if Louis could hear the drum of his heart, he knew it beats as one with the alpha above him.
“Lestat—” Louis breathed, a cry caught in his throat as the Alpha rocked into him with more force. “I can’t… it’s too much—”
“Yes you can, mon amour,” Lestat growled into his skin, his voice shaking with the strain of holding himself back. “Let go. I’ve got you. Just feel me.”
And Louis did feel him—felt every inch of him through the grinding, through the thick bulge dragging against his own, through the weight of his hands and the searing, open-mouthed kisses pressed along his jaw, his neck, his shoulder. Louis’s head fell back, his mouth opening in a soundless moan as white-hot pleasure bloomed low in his belly.
Lestat kept moving, perfectly attuned to him, matching every needy thrust of Louis’s hips. The wet sound of slick and friction filled the air between their breaths. Louis’s thighs trembled, legs still tight around Lestat’s waist, and then—
He was undone.
A moan tore from him, raw and wild, as his body arched and he came hard in his trousers, the tension snapping away from him like a thread. His hands clutched desperately unto Lestat, trying to ground himself to the man who had taken him apart even without going all the way.
Lestat groaned, shuddering above him as he thrusted once more, and another—then he froze. His body was tense and trembling, Louis felt the dampness through the fabric as Lestat’s hips buckled into him once more, following Louis over the edge as he cursed in his accented French.
They collapsed together, bodies pressed together and chests heaving. All of Lestat’s weight was on top of Louis, reminding him that this tall alpha weighs like a wild animal. Louis buried his face in Lestat’s shoulder, pressing a kiss through the shirt.
I love you, I love you, I love you. Louis can’t help but chant in his head.
They stayed like that for a moment that felt like a lifetime. Tangled in limbs, their breaths against each other, just relishing in the warm aftermath of their release along with the heated air and the lingering strong scents of both alpha and omega pheromones mingling together as one. Louis’s thighs trembled, resting on either side of Lestat’s hips.
Louis can’t help but curl his hand on Lestat’s hair, tangling strands in between his fingers as Lestat rests his head on top of the shoulder of Louis. Lestat’s chest heaved with effort, the sweat clung on his skin and soaked through his clothes.
It felt mildly uncomfortable, the sweat and slick in between their clothing. Waves of aftershocks flowing here and there, making Louis’s legs and body spasm in the quietness of their post-climactic haze. Louis pressed a kiss on Lestat’s temple, tasting the sweat that had gathered on to Lestat’s skin.
Lestat’s nose then brushed against his cheek as he moved, his breath once again fanning across damp skin, warm and close.
“Mon cher… You’re perfect.” Lestat then pulled back just enough to look at him. His usually sharp gaze paired with his exceedingly charismatic smirk were nowhere to be seen, but instead Louis saw a side that perhaps, hopefully, none had seen before him. Louis selfishly wanted the soft and loving gaze to be reserved for him and only him.
Lestat then took a finger and wiped a sweat across Louis’s brow. His touch light, as if he wasn’t just the feverishly animalistic man that hud rutted against him just a few minutes ago. “I would wait a century for you, if you asked for it.”
Louis can’t help but let a laugh out from the depths of his belly. “I don’t think you’d have to wait that long,” then he grinned at his alpha. “Spring, maybe?”
“Oh it’s spring now, isn’t it, darling?” Lestat then let out a short laugh, low and disbelieving. “Oh what about all that fuss during breakfast, mon amour? Weren’t you screaming that you wanted a July wedding when your mother wanted you to be a June bride?”
Louis groaned, burying his face into the juncture of where Lestat’s shoulder meets his neck. He took a deep whiff of Lestat’s scent right at the source itself. The familiar scent of dark amber and smoke had entered Louis’s senses, comforting and deep and heady. “I’m sorry I keep on changing my mind, I just want our wedding to be perfect.”
“Whether it’s tomorrow, in three months' time, in a year or even a hundred from now on—I will wait,” he whispered, a steady voice of sincerity and of devotion that Louis knew would last in this lifetime and the next.“Because you are worth every minute of waiting. I’ve spent lifetimes searching for someone like you, a bride like you, mon amour, almost convinced myself you only could exist in my dreams… but now you’re here and I have you. So yes, if more time is what you need, then more time is what you’d get.”
“You really mean that?” the grin formed on his face before Louis could even realize it. He took a finger and traced the line of Lestat’s jaw with a featherlight touch.
Lestat caught his hand and pressed a kiss to each of his knuckles. “I promise you, with all of my heart,” he said. A beat had passed before Lestat then let out a dramatic sigh, the familiar mischievous glint back in his steely blue eyes. “But perhaps sooner is better than later, I’ll be dust by next year. Or worse—my poor cock might actually explode from anticipation.”
Louis let out a laugh, breathless and amused, his limbs still heavy and tangled with Lestat’s. “You’re being ridiculous.”
“In the spirit of honesty, mon amour! I am a man on the edge, Louis, have you seen yourself? I was practically a starving dog always panting behind you when you as much spared a glance in my way during our courtship. I am ready to be on my knees and crawl if you ask for it.”
“You were once,” Louis can’t help but snort, the heat rising on his cheeks. “Crawling, I mean.”
Lestat sported a matching grin, happy. “And I’d do it if you so asked, my St. Louis.”
And in that moment, Louis can’t help but bask in this joyful afterglow, here in a mess of limbs with his fiance—with the man who he’s about to marry, with his alpha who would mate and mark him come their wedding night. It truly didn’t matter when the wedding would be, because they are wholly and completely each other’s.
