Chapter Text

Location: Planet Cybertron, Home of the Autobots and Decepticons

Here on the home planet of the Transformers, the source of which all Transformer life stemmed from, an eternal war had already brewed for some time now, long since the execution of the deceiver Sentinel Prime by the hands of Megatron, leader of the Decepticons, and the rise of Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots who had earned the legendary Matrix of Leadership. For long had this Great War persisted, continually ravaging the planet to near-consumption by death.

In one of the many cities and polities on the surface of Cybertron, the city of Nyon, three lone robots were wandering together through its barren yet sterile streets between its overbearing cylinder skyscrapers, tall enough to reach the light-brown clouds in the sky. The first of these robots was a male Autobot in red and blue that could transform into an off-road-buggy-van, named Crosshairs, the second was a tall female Autobot in black and cyan who could transform into a jet fighter, named Cyan Alert, and the third and last was another somewhat shorter female Autobot in yellow, silver, and white who could also transform into a jet as well, fittingly named Yellowstreak.

"Hey, Cyan Alert?" Yellowstreak spoke up, unsure and hesitant.

"Yes, Yellowstreak?" Cyan Alert replied, walking beside her and noticing the tone in her voice and look on her face. "What's the matter?"

"You think we're really safe out here?" Yellowstreak asked, looking around the whole area.

"As long as we're armed, ready and prepared for pretty much anything, we should be all right", Cyan Alert assured.

"I know I am", Crosshairs added. "With me to look after you two lovebots, what bad could happen?"

Meanwhile, on the other side of Cybertron, was the city of Kaon, already taken over and controlled by the ruthless and evil forces of the Decepticons, a few jets flew every now and then over the dimly lit polity. The faint high shrieking of engines and deep rumbling boom of explosions could be heard within the creeping ambience. In the distance, an endless wall of fire that burnt and glowed a bright orange upon the horizon and the great black yonder.

Atop one of many tall buildings in the mostly barren-looking city, a group of mostly large Decepticons stood, the warrior Cyclonus and his Armada: Slugslinger, Flywheels, Transit, Triggerhappy, Misfire, and Bloodhound. With eyes glowing a pure malicious red, each of the Decepticons watched and glared over the grim and ominous landscape with superstitious surveillance, maintaining peace through tyranny. For a time, they waited to see if any foolish Autobot, whether an individual choosing to go alone or a whole army being brought in, would somehow make their way to this planet. And soon, a few were spotted racing through the city streets.

Cyclonus transformed into his indigo jet mode with forward-swept wings, Slugslinger transformed into his teal-and-grey twin-cockpit jet mode, Flywheels split at the waist into his maroon jet mode and brown tank mode, Transit transformed into his off-white bus mode, Triggerhappy transformed into his blue jet fighter mode, Misfire transformed into his magenta jet fighter mode, and lastly, Bloodhound transformed into his red-and-black car mode. While Bloodhound, Transit, and Flywheels' tank half scurried across the terrain, Cyclonus, Misfire, Triggerhappy, Slugslinger, and Flywheels' jet half soared above them and across the troubled skies. Soon, they would close in on their prey, craving for destruction.

Location: Planet Animatron, Home of the Maximals and Predacons

Elsewhere, in another part of the galaxy, if not another part of the universe, there laid another colony planet of transformers. A colony planet much different from Cybertron, a beautiful world filled with an abundance of lifeforms, lifeforms both similar to and distinct from most normal Cybertronians. While Cybertron was of nothing but pure metal: with high-rising towers of steel and seas of rust; Animatron was flourishing with organic terrains: with actual oceans of water, rocky mountain peaks and vast jungles. And unlike the Cybertronians who were purely metallic and vehicular, the Animatronians had shells of either fur, scale or feather. Many of these lifeforms had formed into tribes, such as the noble beastly machines, Maximals and Dinobots.

Far up north in the vast and seemingly endless snow-covered dunes, three particular Maximals treaded through, leaving behind a trail of footprints. One was a pure-white cybernetic, technorganic and biomechanical-looking wolf with glowing optic eyes of magenta and indigo-topped eagle-like wings. The other two were similarly robotic and biomechanical-looking bears: One was with fur of drab-brown, metal trims of yellow, and optic eyes of green. The other was with fur of pure-white, metal trims of red, and optic eyes of cyan.

"Brrh, how do you even walk about in these frosted lands?" Soulstice huffed, asking the two fellow Maximals behind him.

"Eh", Polar Claw shrugged. "This is usually my kind of terrain anyway. Right, Grizzly-1?"

"Hmm, I'm more used to the forests and rivers where I can rest, hunt and eat", Grizzly-1 replied.

"Whatever the case, we need to keep searching for the Triptych Mask and find it", Soulstice insisted. "Before the Predacons do..."

Meanwhile, on another far side of the planet Animatron, a more barren sector of the planet where cold rocks of black and grey covered most of the terrain, volcanoes bled passively with a hint of silent fury, and lava flown like pus and blood, tribes of more savage beastly machines roamed and scurried, be they Predacons, Insecticons, Seacons, and so on. Unlike the Maximals who wish to live peacefully and respect all other creatures, or even the Dinobots who'd rather stick to their own territory, Predacons, Insecticons and Seacons desire domination over the whole planet, if not the whole galaxy.

Standing upon the edge of a wide and vast crater of rock and magma, a few several Predacons of yellow, orange, red, and black watched over the raging volcanic landscape: the lion and second-in-command Razorclaw, the buffalo Tantrum, the vulture Divebomb, the tiger Rampage, and the rhinoceros Headstrong. But they wouldn't be alone for long, as many more distinct Predacons joined in the observation: The green wasp Waspinator, the brown raptor Dinocon, the gold scorpion Quickstrike, the bronze-and-blue king crab Shokaract, the blue-and-yellow frog Spittor, the purple spidery Tarantulas, the red flying reptilian Terrorsaur and lastly, the violet-and-chartreuse tyrannosaur and true Predacon leader himself, Gigatron.

"So, enjoying the view, are we?" Gigatron spoke deeply to Razorclaw. "Yes...?"

"Just pondering", Razorclaw responded. "You sure we'll find the artefact of Onyx Prime?"

"That remains to be seen, my old friend, yess..." Gigatron answered. "The Triptych Mask is quite powerful in its own way. There's absolutely no doubt that if the Maximals find it first, or even have already, they would protect it at any and all costs, along with the Transwarp Key. Yesss..."

Location: Planet Etheria, Current Home of the Technobots

Lastly, on yet another more unique planet surrounded by twelve bright moons of varying colours and sizes, where strange forms of humanoid life thrived along with an equally strange and mystical force, there was another smaller group of transformers. Transformers who fled their original home planet of Cybertron at the eve of the Great War between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

These were the Technobots, servants, missionaries, enforcers and herald of Primus: the white lorry and leader Nova Prime, the red-and-white space-cruiser and second-in-command Scattorshot, the white-and-red rocket-plane Strafe, the white-and-gold straighter Swiftwing, orange-and-white motorbike Afterburner, the red sleek car Lightspeed, and the brown-and-orange drill-tank Nosecone.

With their spaceship, the Steelhaven, having already landed and settled in the middle of a vast alien forest full of whispering woods, Nova Prime, Nosecone, Lightspeed and Afterburner ventured together on land and by foot in their robot modes. While Scattorshot, Strafe and Swiftwing took to the air and flew in their aerial vehicular modes, observing the grassy plains, crystal castles, purple mountains, and turquoise oceans below. A far cry from the gold, silver and copper cities and streets of Cybertron's polities.

However, somewhere deep below the surface of the planet's surface, was a vast and massive cavern, dimly lit by glowing crystals embedded in the rocky cave walls, where faint drops of water could be heard in the dark distance. Deep in this cavern was a particular artefact laying still and quiet, a metallic sphere of intricate design, with four triangular wings that formed a diamond shape together. Then as if roused by a presence, this enigma flickered a brief red.
