Thanos couldn’t deal with it anymore. He had just finished a concert and he had been outside signing signatures and taking pictures for what felt like hours but in reality had only been a few minutes.
It was too loud, too bright, and Thanos was feeling a headache settle in the back of his head. His vision was spotty and he just wanted to leave and be back at home with his boyfriend.
Speaking of his boyfriend, Namgyu was a comforting presence behind him but as the crowd grew in size they had been separated and now Thanos felt all alone. He tried looking for his boyfriend but he was being shoved and screamed at and his head was about to explode.
He hated being touched, Namgyu was the only one that was allowed to touch him and the only touch that didn’t feel like he was a burn victim. The fans could always get touchy but never this bad, he couldn’t deal with this many people touching him at one time.
A girl ruffling his hair with an arm around his shoulder like they were best friends, that was his final straw. He collapsed onto the floor, curled up into a ball, placed his arms over his head and began to cry and panic. Thanos knows it’s pathetic, can feel the fans' gaze linger on him, he thinks he can hear fans laughing but he can’t be sure that’s at him.
He vaguely hears someone yelling and people shuffle away from him but he refuses to remove his arms protecting him from the outside world that was overwhelming him to the point of combustion.
“Thanos?” He hears vaguely over the ringing in his ears, he sees Namgyu kneel down through his blurry vision and just wishes they were at home in bed cuddling, that was his safe space.
Thanos wants to explain what he’s feeling but when he tries to speak no words leave his mouth, only a whimper as he becomes frustrated with the situation. Thankfully, Namgyu seems to understand him perfectly without any words being communicated between them.
“Let’s get out of here.” Namgyu whispered so only the two of them could hear, to be fair he could have screamed it and no one else would probably care enough to hear. He calls security over and asks them to distract the fans, they were all too happy to help.
The security guards started distracting the fans with new concert dates although none are confirmed and Thanos can’t believe how convincing they made it sound. He would have to shower them with appreciation at some point soon.
Namgyu leads them back into the venue so that they can exit from another door and hopefully avoid the crowd of people that are sometimes way too overwhelming for the average person, let alone one with neurodiverse tendencies.
“It’s okay, you’re okay.” Namgyu reassures as the noise of the crowd fades and they are finally alone again, exactly what Thanos had wanted since they left this morning.
Thanos just whimpered and pressed his face into Namgyu’s neck, this was the first sign that the poor boy was extremely overstimulated and was struggling with sensations coursing all around his body. Namgyu made sure to be careful where he was placing his hands, Thanos was more sensitive when he was like this, he had always been sensitive but all his senses were far more tactful.
“Let’s get you home.” Namgyu whispered softly, a protective arm going around Thanos’s waist and began to lead him to the other exit where there would be less noise and a lack of fans considering they were all out front with the security guards.
Thankfully it’s quiet and easy to help Thanos into the car and head back home to hopefully help calm him down.
Namgyu had a playlist downloaded dedicated to Thanos’s favourite songs that would help calm him down, as soon as the songs come on Thanos visibly relaxed although his shoulders stayed hunched and his breathing was still a concern.
As soon as they arrived back home, Namgyu was quick to help Thanos inside and to bed. This wasn’t the first time he had gotten overstimulated and it wouldn’t be the last, it means they already had routines and an idea of what helped and what didn’t.
As much as it contradicts what most people believe, Thanos does not like alone time and would rather be cuddled in Namgyu’s arms than sit alone shaking on the bed wishing for comfort. Namgyu made sure to keep lights off and any sharp objects were locked away, Thanos was unpredictable and impulsive when in this headspace.
Thanos indicates to Namgyu that he wants to be picked up, he is more than happy to oblige. Most people had a comfort item that they would keep close when they were overwhelmed and overstimulated, Thanos was no different. However, this wasn’t an item or anything, it was Namgyu. So whenever Thanos was overwhelmed, Namgyu was trapped holding him until he had calmed down. He had no problem with that, he loved cuddling with Thanos more than anything and it was usually Thanos who had to move before anything.
Namgyu smiled as he carefully laid Thanos down on the bed and quickly joined him, Thanos would only let him go for a total of two seconds before he was whining again. Upset Thanos was a clingy Thanos.
“I love you.” Namgyu smiled down at the man, leaning against his chest and he couldn’t help but slightly tighten the grip he had on him. He was just too cute for his own good and Namgyu couldn’t handle it.
“Love you Nam-Su.” Thanos mumbled as his hold on reality began to fade away, Namgyu smiled softly and watched as Thanos’s shoulders finally relaxed and he slowly fell asleep.
Namgyu was more than content to watch Thanos as he slept, he would always be there to help and support his boyfriend. He knows Thanos would do the same for him.
