When You Give a Wizard Muggle Technology

Summary:

Luna Lovegood thinks it would be a fun idea to do a powerpoint presentation on Nargles much to the chagrin of Ginny

Notes:

Work Text:

Ginny is sitting on the couch at her house really regretting her choices at the moment. Luna Lovegood is in her living room setting up the laptop needed for her presentation. “And why can’t we have just used a spell for this presentation?” Ginny incredulously.

“Because this way is more fun” Arthur and Luna both responded giddy like two kids whose parents told them they could buy whatever candy they wanted at Hogsmeade.

Some Muggleborn stupidly had to teach him about computers. He was holding a rubber duck when the Muggleborn “innocently” mentioned the importance of rubber ducks in coding. Arthur got so excited and thought the muggles could somehow actually talk to inanimate objects. But the muggleborn then explained that the coders “talked” to these rubber ducks in order to figure out what was wrong with the code. He also explained that coding was a sort of magic for muggles. From that point forward Arthur was enamored by coding and computers.

Finally the powerpoint is up and the title slide shows “Nargles and Why I Love Them” by Luna Lovegood. Luna clicks a button and the next slide appears, from it she reads “What are Nargles you may be wondering? Well wonder no more because I’m about to tell you. Nargles are mischievous creatures known to infest mistletoe; they at one point stole my shoes and papers, that was very rude of them”

“Now onto the next slide which is all about how to keep the Nargles at bay. There is a potion that can kill Nargles but I don’t want to kill the creatures so I am not telling you that. There is a more humane way to keep them away from you and that is wearing a necklace like mine. All you need to make your own is some cork from a Butterbeer Bottle and some string and now you have a beautiful necklace like mine that makes the Nargles not want to go anywhere near you.” Luna showed off her necklace proudly to Ginny and Arthur. Arthur seemed way more interested in the necklace and the presentation than Ginny was.

“This last slide has the question that is probably on everyone’s mind and that is are Nargles real? Well some people say they aren’t real and I say those people are crazy. They are definitely real! And I will never stop trying to prove it!”
