Nights of practice made for the perfect knock. Not loud enough to wake Mom, just loud enough to wake Mabel.
She opened her bedroom door. "Doctor's visit?"
"Yeah." Dipper was pulled inside without another word. Mabel grabbed a box from her shelf and set the lid aside.
"Hmm… hearts, stars, or cupcakes?"
"Stars," Dipper said, holding out his left arm.
Boy, these arms are durable.
He grimaced as Mabel peeled the backing off a glittery band-aid and stuck it to his arm, topped by a kiss and a pat pat.
"There you go!" Mabel said. "Feeling better?"
"Yeah." Dipper smiled.
