Chapter One: The Arrival Of Mark Kincaid
Arriving home from a very long day of work, Sidney's mind wanders towards a memory with Kirby. Walking inside her home office, Kirby pulls out a small box from her desk drawer. While making herself something to eat, Sidney suddenly heard someone began to knock on her front door. Snatching the picture of her and Kirby from Mark angrily, Sidney orders the dective to leave.
New Reed-Prescott story anyone? I've never written a story about them being divorced so uh hang with me here.
Parking her car in front of her garage, Sidney let out a small tired sign as she removed her car key from the ignition before she placed her head against the steering wheel closing her eyes tightly.
Finally removing her head from her steering wheel, Sidney slowly placed her head against the headrest as her eyes slowly started to wander toward where her wedding ring once was.
"Still wanna know why Kirby decided to end our marriage," Sidney whispered. Removing her seatbelt, Sidney finally got out of her car before she locked it behind her. "But that's in the past now. I just hope she's happy with whoever she is with now,"
Standing in front of her house, Sidney slowly placed her hands into her pants pocket trying her hardest not to break into tears as a memory of her and Kirby filled her mind.
Parking her car in front of the garage door, Sidney didn't waste any time getting out of the driver's side of her car before she slid over the hood to open Kirby's door.
Feeling Sidney gently help her out of the car, Kirby once again tried to take off the blindfold which only caused Sidney to gently slap her hand away again.
"Babe! Stop, I promise that you can take it off here soon," Sidney said.
Kirby whined. "We just got married, Babe. Shouldn't we be heading off to our honeymoon or something?"
Sidney laughed as she placed a gentle kiss on Kirby's forehead before she finally started to lead her wife toward their new house with a bright smile plastered on her face.
Unlocking the front door quickly, Sidney gently pushed Kirby inside the house causing the horror fan to whine in surprise while Sidney rushed back behind her.
"We shall go to our honeymoon in a minute but I had to show you this first," Sidney said. Placing her hands on Kirby's shoulder, Sidney placed another kiss on Kirby's forehead. "You can take off your blindfold now, my love. I think you're going to love this present I got for us both actually,"
Slowly removing her blindfold from her eyes, Kirby whined as her eyes met the very bright lights causing the horror fan to quickly close her eyes.
Finally reopening her eyes, Kirby began to take a nice look around the house while Sidney stayed behind her the entire time arms crossed over her chest happily.
"You brought us a house?" Kirby asked.
Sidney nodded. "I did! I love your parents, Babe. But I didn't want to live with them forever since your father hates my guts. So here is my present to you my lovely wife,"
"Has anyone taught you how amazing you are, Babe?"
Sidney nodded.
Letting out a happy laugh, Kirby finally pulled Sidney into a gentle and slow kiss causing the surivor of many Ghostface attacks to smile into the kiss as she wrapped her arms around Kirby's waist.
Snapping herself out of the memory, Sidney finally let out a small shaky sign as she finally managed to walk inside of the house placing her head against the front door.
Tossing her keys into the bowl, Sidney finally locked the door before she walked inside the living room flopping straight onto the couch letting out a small broken sign.
"Another day alone in the house I once shared with the girl I still fucking love," Sidney whispered. Slowly lying down on the couch, Sidney sadly covered her face with her hands. "Fuck! Man, why does my heart still fucking hurt it has been Three years since the divorce,"
Hearing her phone ding a few times letting her know she got three new messages, Sidney groaned before she took out her phone from her pocket unlocking whining the moment she read the first message from Mark.
Hey, Sid. I set you up on a date with someone for tonight- Mark B.
For the last time Mark I don't wanna date anyone right now. Okay? I appreciate the offer but I sadly with have to decline, I'm not over Kirby yet. I wish you and Jill would stop trying to make me date.
We just want to help you move on from Kirby, Sid. It's time to move on and get back out there- Mark B.
Maybe I don't wanna move on from Kirby, Mark. Listen, I'm very tired from working overtime so please can I get some sleep. Don't make me call up your girlfriend aka my twin sister.
You are cracky when you don't get much sleep, Sid. Alright! I will cancel the date just please get some sleep- Mark B.
Will do that, Bud.
After sending that reply back to her friend, Sidney tossed her phone onto the coffee table before she placed her hands underneath her head slowly closing her eyes letting the darkness overcome her.
She will grab something to eat when she wakes up from her nap. Or she might just continue to lay on the couch watching TV like she always does now that she lives alone.
(With Kirby. In Her House Somewhere In NYC. Thirty Minutes Later)
Letting out a small tired sign, Kirby slowly sat up on her couch before she rubbed the tiredness out of her eyes as she turned off her TV getting up from the couch with a small frown on her face.
Outstretching her arms, Kirby looked at the clock on the wall before she let out a small whine of tiredness as she walked inside her home office.
"Can't believe I slept for thirty minutes. Last time I did that I was sick and uh," Kirby whispered. Sitting down on her office chair, Kirby slowly picked up a picture of her, Liv, and Sidney at Liv's high school graduation. "And Sidney was taking care of me and working at home at the same time,"
Placing the picture back in its spot, Kirby slowly opened up one of the many drawers on her desk before she took out a small red and black box placing it on her desk.
Opening up the box revealing her engagement ring and wedding ring, Kirby slowly pulled them out of the box before she placed them in the middle of her hand.
Looking at these always makes me think of her. And all of the good times we shared. Shaking her head sadly, Kirby slowly closed her hand tightly before she placed it against her heart trying not to cry from the guilt she was feeling.
"Maybe I should call her to make sure she's alright," Kirby said. Placing her rings back into the box, Kirby slowly closed it before she placed it back into the wall. "Then again we haven't talked to each other in three years. I don't think she wants to see me,"
Getting up from her desk chair, Kirby walked over to her office window crossing her arms over her chest.
I wonder if she's dating anyone now. If so that's totally fine with me as long as she is happy and safe. Letting out another small broken sign, Kirby placed her head against the cold window.
Hearing her phone ding letting the FBI Agent know she had a new message, Kirby slowly lifted her head up from the window before she took out her phone from her pants pocket.
Hey! Kirb it's me, Charlie. This is my new number. I got a new phone after Hals spilled pop on my old one- Horror Geek Number One
Hey, Charlie. How is Hailey doing? I thought she was sick with the flu.
She is. She wanted to try pop but couldn't do it. I tell her you said hi when she gets up. Hey, do you still have Sidney's number- Horror Geek number one
Uh! I think so. But then again she also could have gotten a new phone too.
Can you send it to me? I need to ask her something- Horror geek number one
Yeah! I will send you it as soon as I can, Charlie.
After sending Charlie Sidney's number, Kirby found herself collapsing onto the couch in her office before she placed her head into one of the pillows.
Charlie better not try to bother Sidney into giving Kirby a second chance. If Kirby wanted a second chance she would do it on her own.
She does want a second chance with Sidney someday but right now it would not be the best idea.
(Back with Sidney)
Walking inside her kitchen after waking up from a thirty-minute nap, Sidney found herself walking over to her fridge.
Guess I could go for some food right now. Then maybe I should finally head to bed for the night. Taking out some bread, lunch meat, cheese, and tomatoes, Sidney walked over to the kitchen island.
"Honestly I wouldn't eat just a sandwich but I'm not feeling that hungry," Sidney mumbled. "Maybe I will get my full Appetite back soon,"
With that said Sidney finally began to make herself a sandwich just as she finally heard someone began to knock on the front door.
Letting out a small groan of annoyance, Sidney walked out of the kitchen and over to the front door before she opened it only to be meet with the one guy she never wanted to see again.
Mark fucking Kincaid.
"How do you keep finding me?" Sidney asked. "I thought moving me and uh Liv to NYC would keep you away from me,"
Mark laughed. "Why did you slip up right there? Where is this lovely wife of yours, Sid?"
Sidney frowned. I have to shut up whenever I'm trying to talk to someone.
Walking past Sidney, Mark made his way over to the couch before he flopped down onto it causing Sidney to whine as she slammed the door shut.
"What do you fucking want, Kincaid?" Sidney asked. "I'm trying to eat and then go to damn bed right now,"
"Just wanted to stop by my lovely ex-girlfriend's house," Mark said. Placing his feet on the coffee table, Mark crossed his arms over his chest. "So wanna tell me why I was never told when you and that Kirby girl divorced? I mean that must have broken Liv's heart since she loved her Mama Kirby so much,"
Sidney glared. "One, Mine and Kirby's divorce is none of your damn business Kincaid. Lastly, Liv and Kirby are still close since Kirby always asks if Liv wants to stay over at her place. I'm not Callie Torres I'm not going to make Kirby go through a custody battle for Liv,"
"Do you still love the FBI Agent?"
Sidney frowned as she slowly crossed her arms over her chest. Yes! I do still love my ex-wife. I will never stop loving her and nobody will make me.
"That's none of your damn business, Mark. Now please get out of my damn house," Sidney snapped. "I will call my damn overprotective brother and let's not forgot my baby sister who was in the military,"
Mark laughed as he got up from the couch making his way over to where Sidney kept some of the pictures. "Do you think I'm scared of Dewey and Amanda Davidson, Sid? Girl, I'm not even scared of that damn cousin of yours, Trevor Sheldon, That other Mark guy you befriend, your twin sister. I'm scared of no one in your life, Sid,"
Just wait until you meet the new and way-scary Olivia Morris-Mercer, Mark Kincaid. Watching as Mark picked up her and Kirby's wedding picture, Sidney whined as she quickly rushed over to her ex-boyfriend angrily.
Snatching the picture angrily from Mark, Sidney glared at her ex-boyfriend causing Mark to laugh as he put his hands up into the air with a small smirk on his face.
"Don't touch my things damnit," Sidney snapped. Placing the picture back onto the stand, Sidney pushed the ex-dective toward the front door. "Get the hell out of my damn house, Mark. Before I fucking make you,"
Mark laughed. "Alright! Alright, fine Sid I shall leave. But this won't be my last time here Sidney,"
"Whatever,"
Mark gave Sidney a small evil smirk before he finally walked out of the house causing Sidney to quickly lock the door before she collapsed onto the stairs trying her hardest not to cry.
She wasn't about to cry becuase she was scared of Mark Kincaid. No, Sidney was about to cry becuase she missed being around Kirby so much right now.
Sidney is certain about one thing, she will never stop loving Kirby even if the FBI Agent stopped loving her.
