Change of clothes? Check. Toothbrush? Check. Bus pass? Check. Cash? Check. Notebooks? Check. Mass weapon of destruction (Pen)? Check. Sieun looked through his backpack and mentally checked off the rest of the things he'd need to spend the weekend at Suho's place.
It's been two months since Suho got discharged from the hospital after waking up. He was finally given the go ahead by his doctor to carry out physical activities like he used to (although his granny still banned him from going back to his part time jobs. He was still sulky about it).
“Granny! How am I supposed to provide for you and Sieun if I don't even have a job? A man needs a source of income.” He whined, tugging at her hand. She couldn't even hit him, still scared about hurting him after his brush with death. But she rolled her eyes and smiled at Sieun who smiled back.
“Ignore him granny, he's an idiot.”
“Hey!”
Anyway, living an entire town away from him obviously weighed on Suho. He was always whining about not being able to drop by anytime he felt like at Sieun's place. Sieun told him he was supposed to be resting so dropping by would have been out of the question. He didn't mind the weekly trips, matter of fact, they kept his mind away from dangerous paths and helped him forget the loneliness of his small apartment.
Just because his parents felt bad for what he faced at Byeoksan, didn't mean they were going to change their usual schedules. It worked fine with Sieun too. Afterall, he had basically gone his entire life without having them present. It would be weird if they started acting more emotional after such an event. He didn't care for their company.
Besides, he had Suho now. And his grandma. And once in a while, Youngyi and her weird family of former street kids. He had way more people in his life than ever before, and he was happy with it.
He looked over to see his phone vibrating. It was probably Suho trying to check on him, since he's usually at his place by now. He was just about to pick up his phone to text him when he heard a knock on the door.
“Who is it?” He asked warily. He didn't order anything and all the people he cares for are in the next town. His parents have a key so obviously it's not them either.
“Guess who.” The voice answered. The voice sounded suspiciously like Suho but it couldn't be. It couldn't.
He opened the door to meet the smiling face of a person that was definitely not supposed to be there. He stared in disbelief at Suho's form at his doorstep.
“Well, aren't you glad to see me?” The stupid boy said, leaning into Sieun's space. Sieun was lost for words and was just about to start asking who brought him there when he noticed the object Suho was hiding at his back.
“Is that your helmet?”
“Um… don't get mad.”
“I'm already mad.” Sieun snapped. “Please tell me you wore it as extra protection on the bus and not what I'm thinking.” It had to be anything else. There's no fucking way Suho rode his scooter all the way to another town after everything that has happened.
“Who wears a helmet on the bus? I'm not an invalid.” Suho said lightly, probably to calm Sieun down.
“You rode that fucking death machine here?!”
“Death machine? My scooter's fine, used all that fancy settlement money to fix the damage Beomseok's goons did to it. It's practically good as new.” Suho replied. He could be so dense at times.
“Did you forget that you're supposed to be taking it easy? How could you do something so reckless?? And without letting me know too?” Sieun raised his voice, not understanding how Suho wasn't seeing the problem. His doctor told them when he woke up that he was one of the few lucky survivors of such a long coma. A fighter, he called him. Now said fighter was in front of him, gambling his existence away once again without thinking of the consequences.
“I used the safest routes and wore my fucking helmet. Now, will you let me in or will you continue yelling at me in front of your door, so all your neighbours know what's going on.” Suho said calmly, despite being ticked off already.
Sieun stared at him for a minute before moving aside to let him in. He had half a mind to leave him at his doorstep but knowing Suho, he'd probably cause a commotion that will force Sieun into letting him in anyway. Plus, Sieun didn't really have the heart to leave him outside, no matter how angry he was at the moment.
Once in, Suho took off his shoes and stretched his arms, not at all subtle about looking around the apartment.
“You've got a nice place, I should have visited a long time ago. Sorry.” He flopped belly first on the couch, definitely ignoring the tense atmosphere.
“What made you come here by yourself? You already knew I was coming, what if I left before you got here? Why would you even take the scooter? Did all the buses stop running? Are you trying to get yourself killed?” Sieun shot question after question, irritated that Suho was so lax about his safety.
“I wanted to see you so I came here. If I missed you, I'd just wait at your door till you got back. I felt like riding the scooter so I took it. And for the last time, I drove on the safest paths, it's not like I used the main highway, your Highness.” Suho groaned, tired of Sieun's nagging. Since he got out of the hospital, it's been this way. The constant reminders to be careful, it was getting tiring.
“You just felt like riding the scooter? Can you hear yourself? Have you forgotten what happened the last time you rode that thing?” Sieun walked closer to him, staring down at him.
“Well it's not like that's what put me in a coma and earned me constant nagging everyday so I'm good actually.” He knew immediately the words left his mouth, that was the wrong thing to say. He watched Sieun's fists clench, eyes glistening with tears and knew he fucked up.
“Sieun-ah, that's not what I…” He reached out but got his hands smacked away.
He knew he deserved it.
“Fine. Do whatever you want, selfish asshole.” He gritted out and walked to his bedroom, slamming the door hard.

The sun had gone down before Sieun stepped out of his room again. Suho had tried to get him to talk earlier in the day but after multiple tries, he gave up.
He realised, with a little bit of guilt, that he hadn't eaten anything all day and it was definitely the same case for Suho, since he didn't have anything to eat in the kitchen.
He entered the living room to see Suho asleep on the couch, no wonder he was so quiet. A tiny, petty side of him wanted to walk out of the house without saying anything but the more rational part of him kicked against it. It wouldn't be good if Suho woke up and realised he wasn't home, god knows he'd leave the house to look for Sieun despite not knowing anywhere in this town.
Sieun walked over to the couch and lightly brushed a finger against Suho's cheek. The asshole, didn't he realise Sieun was just worried? How was he supposed to move on if something happened to Suho again? He almost didn't make it the last time.
He made to pull away and order something for them to eat when Suho's eyes opened and held onto his finger tightly. Sieun frowned, kneeling beside the couch and placed the back of his palm on Suho's forehead.
“You're burning up. What’s wrong?”
“I'm sick.” Suho sounded groggy, although that could be attributed to the nap he just woke up from.
“Why are you sick, you were fine this morning. Does it hurt anywhere?” He moved closer to run his hands through Suho's hair, hoping to soothe him.
“I don't know. It’s because of you anyway.” Suho grumbled yet leaned more into Sieun's petting. Sieun rolled his eyes, of course he was choosing this moment to be a drama queen.
“You've not eaten yeah? I'll go get you some food and medicine. You'll feel better soon.” He rose to get his keys and do just that but Suho held him back.
“No. Don't go.”
“Why?”
“Just don't go. Stay.” Oh god, he was pouting.
“Of course, you turn into a baby when you're sick.” Sieun sighed. “Just hang in there, okay? I'll go get everything and be back before you know it.” He patted Suho's face gently and tried to pull away but to no avail. Unfortunately, the bastard had been doing physical therapy and had regained a lot of his strength.
“No.” He said firmly, pulling Sieun even closer.
He placed a gentle hand on Sieun’s cheek, thumbing across his skin, wondering how he would feel if Suho pulled him on top of him, how his thighs would feel under Suho's hands.
Would he be embarrassed? Would he be annoyed or God forbid, offended? He knows Sieun kissed his cheek in the hospital, so he has a little idea of what the other boy feels towards him but still. He needed affirmation that it was love.
What else would you call the feeling of you craving someone’s company so much that it starts to feel empty when they're not around? What else could you call it when they waited at your bedside for months despite moving to a new town? What else would you call it when your chest starts hurting when they’re not there? What else could it be if not love?
He thought about it for a minute before deciding he wasn't going to overthink things. He leaned in to kiss Sieun with the hunger of a man who didn't know when next he would have a chance to, his hands travelling down to grip Sieun’s waist tightly, easily wrapping his hands around him. He pulled him even more into his space, causing Sieun to lose his balance and land on top of him.
Sieun on his part was starting to feel a little feverish himself, spreading his legs to straddle Suho properly.
We should stop. The small rational voice in his head said but that was easier said than done. How could he ignore how good Suho's lips felt on his, the sounds coming out of him, the way his hands felt so secure on his waist.
“Suho…” Sieun sighed.
Suho pulled him impossibly closer, pouring all his feelings into that heated kiss, running his hands under Sieun's sweater, causing Sieun to let out a whimper.
At that sound, Suho had to pull back a little to calm down and breathe.
Fuck.
He pulled away a bit to see Sieun's kiss bitten lips and blown out pupils, inhaling roughly, “Woah.”
“You're unbelievably hot.” Sieun said, touching him all over his face.
Suho grinned, “I know.” He said and got his forehead flicked for being cheeky.
“No, I mean your fever has gone up.” Sieun sighed and got off Suho's lap, unsteadily to Suho's amusement. He was flushed down to his neck, trying and failing to keep his heavy breathing inaudible.
“Oh no, I guess you'll just have to nurse me back to health. How lucky I am, to have such a smart boyfriend.” Suho raised his arms to rest his head on.
“Boyfriend?” Sieun said in a dry voice but he couldn't fool Suho. The fake idgaf-er’s ears were red, he must enjoy the term more than he thought.
“What? You go around kissing every boy like that, Yeon-ssi?” He teased.
“Don't be stupid.”
“That settles it then. Even if you did, that ends today. You're mine now, I hate sharing.” Suho smiled brightly when he saw the flush intensify. God, Sieun was so fun to tease.
“You know we're still going to talk about how reckless you were today right?” Sieun crossed his arms, trying to look serious but all Suho saw was a cute little kitty standing in front of him. He was so gone for this boy, it was unreal.
“Yes, your Highness. I'm sorry for worrying you.”
“You know that's not it.”
“I know. I know why you're angry, I just needed to prove it to myself that it was still the same old me. I've been going for physical therapy since I woke up, I'm not the weak Suho you watched over months.” He sat up and reached out to the other boy.
“I've never seen you as weak.” Sieun took his hand and sat beside him.
“Never?”
“Never. You got into an accident on your scooter and survived it. You got a traumatic head injury, fought for months and came out of it whole. You're the strongest person I know. I just don't want to see you in the hospital again, I don't think I could handle that. I'm sorry of it feels like I'm always on your case.”
Suho hugged him and kissed his temple, trying to keep his tears from falling.
“I'm sorry. For being difficult earlier.”
“It's okay. Just… if you ever want to do this again, let one of us know okay? I don't even want to think of something happening to you without anyone knowing until it's too late.”
“I promise. I'll be more careful next time.”
“Thank you.” Sieun finally relaxed and hugged him back, holding onto him tightly.
