Work Text:

Hilda and Edelgard are getting ready for a ball. Edelgard is sitting down in front of a tall mirror wearing a dark red dress with off the shoulder (?) puffy sleeves and gold earrings. Her hair is down, but has red lillies have been braided around her head. She’s looking a little worried. Hilda stands behind her, holding a red lily and looking carefree. She’s wearing a warm blue dress with draped, sheer sleeves, silver jewelry, and she has her pink hair in a big messy bun. Edelgard: Hilda, we’re going to be late. Hilda: Eh, whatever. Linhardt is late to these things all the time and nobody’s mad at him about it! … except Hubert… and Ferdinand… but you’re the emperor, they won’t start without you anyway! Hilda puts the last lily in Edelgard’s hair Hilda: Aaand we’re done! The POV is from the mirror’s view now. Edelgard looks pleased with her appearance and is blushing. Hilda has leaned down next to her. Edelgard: I… have to admit I like it more than I expected to. It’s lovely. Hilda: Yeah I know!! It’s perfect for Garland Moon. Way better than that stuffy old crown you usually wear. Hilda kisses Edelgard on the forehead and Edelgard continues to blush. Hilda: Alright cutie, let’s get out of here. Some small text pointing to Edelgard says “would rather stay home and cuddle now” Soon after, Hilda is walking past Hubert. Hubert is wearing a suit with his usual gray, dark red, and dark blue color scheme. The coat has a sash that extends from his left shoulder to the right side of his chest, which is typical for Adrestian menswear. The sash has a fancy pattern on it. Hubert looks displeased while Hilda once again looks carefree. Hubert: Hilda, while I appreciate the attention you provide her majesty, arriving fashionably late is— Hilda: Save it, Hubert. I’m not gonna hear it. Don’t underestimate the diplomatic power of looking cute. Hubert looks amused and annoyed and says “Hmph” Off screen, someone says “Hubert! There you are!” Hubert turns to see Ferdinand dressed in a suit. He’s wearing the Fire Emblem Heroes tea party outfit, a suit with his usual fiery, regal colors, and a cravat. His long hair flows behind him and he excitedly reaches out towards Hubert, who is blushing. Ferdinand: Are you ready to dance?

I started drawing a dress for Edelgard and then halfway through realized I was basically drawing the dress from Tumblr user dvrtrblhr’s Edelgard painting but with smaller sleeves lmao
