2005.
A sweet elderly otter who was slowly succumbing to her demise, urged two kids who could be no more than three towards the front porch of a house in a quaint little neighborhood.
“Go, go.” She urged the two.
The little girl with lavender skin and big black eyes looked to the woman, who took her in when no one else did after her parents had abandoned her. The only woman she could love and see as a parent in her eyes, was now leaving. Leaving forever. For what reason, she did not know nor understand. She looked to her brother who was only just a couple minutes older than her, he had red and orange fur making him look like one big puff ball.
“Mama?” He said to the elderly woman.
His parents abandoned him also.
“Please Stephanie and Animal, please go. Go to the family that will take you in and love you, if not more than me. I don’t think I have much longer to go on for. So, please go.” Their foster mother begged.
The otter knew of the man who lived in this house, he was an aspiring musician who was in need of some company while recovering from his war injuries.
Stephanie looked to the door then to the lady.
“I love you.” Stephanie told her.
The little old lady smiled before giving the kids a little push towards the door. She reached out her hand and rang the doorbell. She handed Stephanie a piece of paper that read ‘Keep’ in black bold letters before scurrying out of sight.
The door to the house opened. Revealing a man with purple skin, red hair held up in a pony tail, wearing a hoodie, and a pair of jeans peer down at them and the sign.
A look of fear washed over Stephanie’s face, she looked in the direction of where their foster mother went off to. There was no sign of her. She looked back at the stranger.
“H-hi.”
