Work Text:
Kafka’s fingers on the laptop seize their typing as she catches a whiff of bitter coffee enclosing the living room space. She hears the sink run and the clinks of plates bumping against each other. Instead of the usual nagging she receives about forgetting to do her part of the chores, warm silence settles in the air and it makes her heart squeeze at the domesticity.
She can't find a clever quip to snap the mellow atmosphere since she’s itching for Himeko to yell at her like she always does— a routine that her brain has been hardwired to ever since they started living together. It’s an odd thing that rattles her senses but that familiarity is something she likes seeking from her lover. The banter that ensues between them is what she looks forward to, bringing a spark of joy and comfort that they both bask in.
She gives a side glance to the kitchen and Himeko has her back turned from her, standing in front of her coffee machine while she’s scrolling through her phone— probably endless emails and missed messages that she slept on through the night. It’s also Kafka’s fault that she missed them since she managed to lure her lover from work, wanting to spend a calm night where Kafka can hear their heartbeats sync together in a lovely rhythm.
“Kafka.” The firm voice snaps Kafka out of her thoughts and straightens her spine— quiet nervousness sinking into her brain. “Come here.”
Kafka tries not to say something bratty like you come here or I’m too lazy but something about her scratchy voice in the morning pulls her away from her habits. She silently leaves the couch and slides onto the stool beside the island of the kitchen.
When she hears the faint screech her seat makes, Himeko turns around and stares at Kafka with an unreadable look. Kafka tries not to squirm under her hard gaze and plays it off by mindlessly playing with the ring on her finger.
Then, Himeko leans forward and slides her hand to stop her from fidgeting. Kafka almost shivers at the warmth enveloping her hand and tilts her head in silent confusion.
To her relief, Himeko flashes a lovely smile that knocks her breath away and pulls her hand. She presses a kiss on her slender fingers and stares up at Kafka with that unfamiliar look. Swallowing down her surprise at the rare display of affection, Kafka finds herself moving closer until their faces are inches apart.
“What got you in a good mood?” Kafka smiles, finding it hard not to kiss her cute lips. It’s almost impossible to see Himeko this mellow and sweet this early when mornings don't show her best side (Kafka finds her frowns and complaints about work adorable).
Himeko chuckles softly— a faint color of sleepiness dragging her voice. “I can’t even be sweet to you?”
“It’s weird.” Kafka immediately says before she can think about it— she’s quick to remedy the harshness when she sees Himeko’s offended look. “I meant that you don’t normally do this. Usually, I’m the one clinging to you in the mornings.”
“Hm, that’s true. But you’re also acting differently.” Himeko pokes her cheek. “What happened to you pissing me off first thing in the morning? You’re nice and quiet on that couch earlier.”
The way Himeko husks out the last sentence sends a warm tingle down her bones, feeling her desire and love flicker violently in her chest until it comes to life.
Kafka licks her lips. “Don’t you prefer it when I’m nice?”
“Hey now, don’t get ahead of yourself.” Himeko snorts as she recognizes the flirty look on her lover’s face. “If you’re going to seduce me, do it after I’m done with work.”
“You’re lame.” Kafka rolls her eyes.
Himeko raises a brow. “Do you really want to start that when I haven’t drunk my caffeine?”
Kafka’s defiance envelops her heart, smirking at the subtle annoyance lining her eyebrows. “It’s always fun to annoy you. Whoever else would give me such satisfying reactions?”
“Ah yes, I think I read that in our marriage papers— I locked myself with a brat who doesn’t know when to back down.” Himeko’s sarcasm drips like honey that Kafka can’t help but drink like alcohol.
She almost feels dizzy— the day is bright yet the air is growing warm and heady that she’s getting lost in it. It’s the perfect time when Kafka is just as sensitive and receptive to such things compared to later in the day with her walls built up already.
“You should do something about it.” Kafka suddenly spits out— she spots that muted fire blending into her golden eyes. She almost shivers when Himeko’s gaze flickers down, tipping her mug against her soft lips. “It’s best to correct problematic behavior as early as possible.”
Himeko almost laughs, roughly setting down her drink and the clear sound sends another spark between them. “I forgot I also married a perverted dog, following me around like an overexcited pet with no discipline in her bones.”
Kafka swears that she’s ready to rip that distasteful coffee from her and tug her down against the marble surface of this table. Her hand pulls out of Himeko’s hold and slithers it up her arm until she’s under her sleeve.
Himeko’s eyes darken. “Hey, what did I say about-“
“I’m not going to do anything.” Kafka quickly says, drinking in the flush spreading from Himeko’s freckled face and down her smooth neck. “Your skin just feels nice.”
Himeko squints at her. Kafka simply shrugs as her hand pulls away and goes back to holding her hand. The softness of her knuckles and palm is something Kafka never tires from. She drags her fingers across the weathered skin, having endured the hard labor of being an engineer— Kafka loves it all the same regardless of Himeko’s insecurity about it.
Then she begins to place soft kisses on her nails— Himeko complains that she can’t wear anything cute on them due to her work and is envious of Kafka whose job as a celebrity is to look fashionable. Kafka used to believe that talking about such insignificant things on a daily basis was just another way to fill up the silence in the room. She thought it was a waste of time for both parties to chat about how the weather was going when there wasn’t a meaningful exchange between them.
But after meeting Himeko, she found herself asking for those same insignificant things. It doesn’t matter if Himeko is explaining boring shit like quantum physics or she’s pointing out the obvious fact of the sky being so blue and bright— Kafka will always consume every syllable and detail of her words until they’re ingrained in her brain.
Once her lips reach her wrist, she leans back to gaze fondly at Himeko who always turns an adorable shade of red whenever she worships her hand like that. It’s a treatment that Kafka will randomly do now and then, conveying her feelings to her without the burden of saying them outright. Himeko didn’t know how to handle the onslaught of affection Kafka brought to their relationship. But she relented at the end when she realized that Kafka needed to show her love this way.
It doesn’t have to escalate to anything either. In reality, Kafka isn’t actually in the mood to have sex with Himeko first thing in the morning. There’s a script sitting in the files of her laptop and she would have to call up her director friend Elio for some advice about it since it’s a harder genre to execute. Himeko is also not the biggest fan of doing it so early in the day when she has things to do before she can let herself fully relax (but that doesn’t stop the both of them and they always regret it afterwards when they feel the emptiness of their stomach and an incoming headache afterwards).
So Kafka stops her kisses on her knuckles and releases Himeko from her hold, watching her wife huff at her with amusement before checking the emails on her phone.
“I won’t be home until midnight. Herta wants the team to finish this project as soon as possible because the superiors have been grilling her for progress.” Himeko hums and Kafka has trained her ears in the arts of her wife’s beautiful voice to notice that there’s an apologetic undertone— it comes out a little bit when she’s trying to explain herself.
Kafka returns to her place on the couch and is met with the daunting sight of the overly romantic script burning her eyes. “That’s fine by me. I’ll be home for the whole day— just a few video calls here and there with my staff.”
“Hey, did you buy groceries yesterday?”
Kafka momentarily looks up from the screen. “Yeah, I did. I think I got everything on the list.”
She can hear the refrigerator and the cupboards opening and closing. “I don’t recall these new mugs being part of the list.” Himeko sternly points out as she inspects them closely.
“But they’re the matching ones and they look cute. I couldn’t help it.” Kafka chuckles while she transfers some of her files to her flash drive. “I thought you liked matching items?”
“I do but it’s fun to buy those things together.” Himeko grumbles.
“It’s even more fun to surprise you with them.” Kafka argues back.
And then they start bantering like that over the most simple things. It may sound serious with the way they heatedly debate on whether or not they should surprise their partners with these kinds of gifts but nothing progresses because both of them stand firmly on their respective terms. Then they realize how silly this is and they start laughing together, feeling happier than ever being by each other’s side.
“Mrs. Murata, watch this with us!” One of her younger colleagues invites her to their table in the break room and they’re all huddled together in front of a laptop.
She sets down her lunch (Kafka insisted on cooking for her and so far she hasn’t been poisoned) and scoots closer to see what the fuss is about. But she quickly realizes what they’re watching when she hears the familiar backtrack and an actor Himeko has briefly rubbed shoulders with appears on the screen. The people beside her break out in a chorus of squeals as he delivers a gut-punching line before the camera slowly moves to Kafka’s face who looks devastated by the sudden confession.
It’s one of the older movies Kafka starred in and with the great news of the famous actress leading in another romance film, it’s no surprise that her colleagues (who are known to be fans of her wife) are rewatching this one. Himeko tries not to laugh when one of them starts crying when Kafka’s character rejects the love interest and marches off-screen. She already knows by heart what the next scene is so she pulls away from the screen and continues to eat her food.
When Himeko suddenly catches a tiny stray rock of pepper between her teeth, she doesn’t have the chance to mentally curse her wife when the young man beside her asks her a damning question.
“Aren’t you also a big fan of Kafka Hunter?”
Himeko’s throat threatens to choke at the spotlight directed at her. But her torment isn’t over when she visibly cringes at the incredibly salty taste of the chicken in her mouth. Suddenly, she is reconsidering the answer to his question because why in the world did her wife dump salt in her food? She reminds herself to officially ban her wife from the kitchen later and turns to her colleagues with a polite smile.
“I know of her. I don’t know much about celebrities.” She doesn’t know why she lied about that last part— she loves movies just as much as Kafka does. Of course, she knows which actors have worked with her wife.
But truth be told, they are keeping their relationship a secret. While the public knows that Kafka announced two years ago that she married a non-celebrity partner, they don’t know it was Himeko and the nosy people of the entertainment industry have tried their hardest to search for who it is. But she has Kafka’s staff team and Silver Wolf to thank for effectively sweeping away Kafka’s private life off of the internet because they aren’t able to get an exact answer.
Kafka is very strict about the separation of her personal and professional lifestyles. Even before they started dating, Kafka made a promise to protect Himeko from the burdensome nature of her fame and fortune. Himeko didn’t stop her from doing all they could to protect their privacy but she did swear to herself that she will always stick with Kafka even if they somehow get swarmed by paparazzi someday.
“That reminds me, we don’t know much about Mrs. Murata.” One of them comments as they look at her with curiosity.
Himeko chuckles. “And I would like to keep it that way.”
“Aww, not even a picture of your lover? We swear we will keep it a secret.” They all make a sign to their hearts with determined faces.
Himeko shakes her head. “You won’t be able to get anything from me, guys.”
“That’s right, you all better stop pestering her!”
Himeko turns her head to the new addition to their conversation and her cute assistant March is standing in front of them with a not-so-intimidating expression on her face— similar to a puppy barking cutely and failing to scare people off.
But it does its job anyway when they all apologize to Himeko. They return to resuming the movie with disappointed faces but it doesn’t last long when they are met with a dramatic cutscene. Himeko laughs at the adorable sight of them weeping once more before greeting March with a thankful smile.
“You’re so sweet, March.”
March glows at the praise with a cheeky grin. “I always try to be! But it’s amusing to see you be so secretive about your married life. It’s no wonder people around you wish to pry into your business— who wouldn’t be curious about Murata Himeko’s lover?”
She has heard countless times from her peers and colleagues how excellent she is in her field of work due to the accolades she has received and is one of the senior engineers that’s respected around here. Himeko is grateful for all the praises but she tries not to let it inflate her ego— Kafka already does a wonderful job doing that in private.
“Well, you have met my lover before.” Himeko says cryptically before taking a sip from her coffee cup.
March’s expression falls into a comical shock. “What?! Since when did I…”
Himeko simply shrugs, enjoying the little crisis March is having as if she’s flipping back to her memories for any sign of truth in her words. But she remembers clearly how much of a close call it was when Kafka visited her and March almost walked in on them.
“Never mind that. Have you received anything from Herta?”
March recognizes the professional tone in her voice. “That’s actually why I came here. You’re needed in the lab in ten minutes”
Himeko finishes up the remainder of her extra salty lunch food made by her loving wife and proceeds to follow March, feeling more energized to get back to work.
Himeko was having a terrible day at work that she couldn’t help but shoot Kafka a text message and rant about her feelings in several walls of texts that she’ll surely regret afterwards. It was the middle of the day so she didn’t expect anything in return, knowing that Kafka would probably be too busy to respond.
But to her surprise, her silly yet considerate wife barged into her office— most likely sneaking through security and the lobby rather than informing her presence here. Himeko jolts out of the fog of exhaustion and melts at the feeling of a worried Kafka gathering her in her comforting embrace.
“I bought your favorites.” Kafka gestures at the food sitting on her desk— the sweet smell of baked goods entering her nose. “I was already planning to give them to you at the end of the day but after you texted, I knew I had to come see you sooner.”
Himeko hums all happy and tired, hoping that it will somewhat convey her gratitude. Kafka seems to get the hint as she shoots her a kind smile before fishing out a container that has the blooming onion bread with cheese and her favorite coffee order— all bitter and poisonous as Kafka would always quote.
There are other items that Kafka pulls out but she’s already having her fill with the onion bread. Whenever Kafka watches her eat, she occasionally chuckles as if she’s the most interesting thing in the world or takes care of her by offering more food and wiping the crumbs off of her lips.
Himeko doesn’t feel self-conscious about it, not anymore at least. After learning that Kafka likes to see Himeko enjoy herself in silence, she doesn’t have to carry the burden of filling up that silence with needless conversation. Throughout her life, Himeko always has to think nonstop over all sorts of things and that kind of mentality never allows her a second to rest. But with Kafka, she releases that burdensome feeling and her brain can turn off for once.
Kafka takes a handkerchief and gently swipes the sauce off of the corner of her lips. Himeko makes a small noise before pressing a short kiss on her wife’s lips.
Of course, she’s just as perceptive as ever and recognizes the lack of verbal responses. Kafka coos at her wife, carefully rubbing her head like she’s a lazy cat. At any other time, Himeko would have been offended but she’s too tired to argue about it.
“It was that bad, huh?” Kafka sighs when Himeko nods her head. “How long until you get off?”
“Four hours.” Himeko simply answers before nuzzling her hand.
“Can’t you ask for an early leave? You can’t even finish all this paperwork.” Kafka points at the horrible visual of her papers stacked in a thick pile beside her.
Himeko groans. “Can’t. I also need to supervise some juniors later.”
“Lame. I think my baby deserves all the rest she wants.” Kafka exaggerates her voice into a soft cooing tone that has Himeko flinching back with a disgusted look.
Kafka laughs at her priceless reaction before sliding over an almond cheesecake as an apology. Himeko gives her one last half-hearted glare before dipping her fork at the front of the slice and popping it in her mouth. She squeals excitedly at the delicious taste and offers a bite to Kafka, nudging the fork to her closed lips until she relents— all she needs to do is show her those puppy eyes and Kafka will do anything for her in a heartbeat.
Kafka moves to offer some more treats but a warm hand grasps her wrist and slowly pulls her forward. A confused yet delighted smile etches her face as Himeko showers her with kisses— from the corner of her brow to the edge of her jaw, Himeko’s relentless affection leaves sparks of flames within Kafka’s chest.
They both giggle when Himeko playfully squeezes her face between her hands and presses a clumsy kiss square on her lips. A loud smack of affection bursts out in the air and Kafka has become a fortunate victim of this explosive love attack— Himeko would label it as “cute aggression” or whatever. While Kafka is unable to grasp the aggression part and how Himeko gets random bouts of energy to smother Kafka lovingly, she isn’t going to complain either when Kafka enjoys the attention.
“H-hey! You still need to eat!” Kafka’s giggles never stop as she weakly attempts to slither out of Himeko’s possessive hold.
Their bubble of domesticity is popped in an instant the moment they hear a loud knock on the door, reminding the couple that they’re in Himeko’s workplace. Kafka almost flies out of her seat while Himeko hastily fixes up her desk.
“Hey, your face is-“ Himeko snorts as she points at the kiss marks littered all over her. Kafka groans before taking out some wipes from her bag and cleaning herself up with the aid of her phone camera.
“Mrs. Murata! Can I come in?” March’s singsong voice echoes through the door, doing a rhythmic knock that puts an endeared smile on Himeko’s face.
“G-give me five minutes, March. My office is a mess right now.”
She can hear March’s muffled voice but is unable to discern what she’s saying. Himeko is too busy watching Kafka grumbling curses under her breath— she knows how much she hates it when they get interrupted but to be fair, they really shouldn’t be flirting here in the first place.
“Do I look fine?” Kafka faces her with a disgruntled look.
As soon as Himeko gives her an okay sign, Kafka helps her wife with the food on her desk and sets them aside for now. Then, as if she has morphed into her actress persona, Kafka’s expression returns to neutral before picking up a random book and lounging on the couch as if she’s always been there at the beginning.
The sight is almost comical when Kafka is pretending to be nonchalant, knowing that her wife is mentally cursing the heavens themselves for intruding in their little moment. Himeko spares her an amused glance one last time before permitting March to enter.
“Oh! I didn’t know you had a guest over.” March immediately points out with a raised brow.
“Yeah, don’t mind her. We were just eating lunch together.” More like eating each other’s faces— Himeko swears she can feel her palms sweating.
She takes the documents from March’s hands and keeps a tight hold on her waning composure. Her assistant continues to stare at Kafka as the gears in her head turn, deciphering the awkward air in the room.
“She looks familiar. Have I met her somewhere? I remember I did meet some of your friends.” March hums.
She admires how dedicated Kafka is in her mission of ignoring March’s innocent yet pointed words. But she does give a small wave towards March as if to acknowledge her presence. Himeko feels a thick lump in her throat, racking through her brain any kind of excuses that would convince March.
“She’s a family friend. But it’s rude to talk about people like that when they’re in the room.”
March covers her mouth. “I’m sorry! I was only here to deliver your stuff. I won’t take up too much of your time.”
And then the younger woman is out of her office in no time. Himeko heaves out a sigh of relief while Kafka carelessly throws the book at the other side of the couch and chuckles to herself.
“Family friend, huh?”
“Not exactly wrong. You are close with my family.”
Kafka rolls her eyes. “Whatever you say, starlight.”
Himeko palms her face. “Please do not call me that.”
“Damn, I should have called you names while you were all soft and mushy earlier.”
Himeko tries not to take offense from her words. “I’m not even going to ask what kind of names but I think it’s best if you go back. Your phone has been buzzing like crazy.”
Kafka sighs as she approaches Himeko and kisses her forehead. “Come home early, okay? I still need to show you this cool movie and I can’t have you passing out halfway through.”
“But you won’t mind if I did, right?”
Kafka’s expression melts with all of the gentleness she can spare and nods her head. “I won’t mind anything.”
“And cut! Good job everyone!”
Kafka’s shoulders sink with relief, all bravado and persona within her bones melting away at the round of applause and cheers from equally exhausted staff members. Her manager, Yingxing, scoops her in with a blanket and ushers her straight to the dressing room. Surprisingly, there aren’t any of her usual staff waiting for her.
“Yingxing, grab my belongings and meet me in the car.” Kafka sighs as she slips out of her heels and into a comfortable pair.
Yingxing frowns. “But someone is here for you.
Before she could ask, a flurry of crimson hair rushes out of the dressing closet and Kafka squeaks when she’s twirled around like a ragdoll.
“H-Himeko?!” Kafka flushes in embarrassment as her wife picks her up by the waist, helplessly flailing until her hands shoot down to her broad shoulders for support.
Himeko grins up at her with a twinkle of excitement in her eyes. “Surprise! I’ve come to pick you up.”
Kafka hisses under her breath like a disturbed cat as Himeko begins to rub her face against her stomach. “Put me down! Yingxing is here!”
“Oh? But you like it when I pick you up-“
“Not here!” Kafka huffs out with a loud smack on her bicep. “Seriously, what is with you these days…”
Himeko laughs as she lowers her wife to the ground but continues to loop her arms around her waist. Kafka glares at Yingxing, who looks incredibly amused by the sight, and orders him to move her stuff into Himeko's car. Once they’re given privacy, Himeko begins planting soft kisses on her shoulder.
“You told me before that you like surprises.”
“Not towards me. It’s more fun to watch someone else’s reaction.” Kafka sighs as she brushes her fingers across Himeko’s ponytail. “Anyways, how did you get here?”
Himeko grins brightly and the irresistible glow is enough to knock Kafka out of her senses. “I called up Yingxing and agreed to sneak me in here. I had to disguise myself as your staff member.” Himeko tips up her hat (a part of Kafka’s merch) and shows off the custom ID Yingxing had given her.
Kafka snorts, feeling endeared by the cheekiness her wife is showing. “I feel like I’m becoming a bad influence on you.”
“Yeah, it’s all your fault.” Himeko pokes her nose. “Make it up to me tonight.”
Kafka’s expression shifts into something sweet and infectious. “Eager, aren’t you? How about you let me go so I can change out of this dress?”
She feels a shiver rush up her spine when Himeko’s not-so-subtle eyes scan her down. “You should wear them more rather than your stupidly oversized coats.”
“Nah, I like how broad it makes my shoulders.
And also hides the fact that she is slightly smaller than Himeko in terms of physique. No, Kafka doesn’t feel conscious about it. She just likes how it accentuates her silhouette, that’s all!
As if sensing her thoughts, Himeko straightens her posture with a playful smirk. Even with heels on, she isn’t able to match up to Himeko’s height. She may or may not be bitter about it because she wants to be the tall one in the relationship— at least she gets to spoon her wife now and then.
Kafka almost chokes when firm hands grip her slender waist, shamelessly feeling her toned muscles through the silk fabric of her dress. She casts a flustered glare down to see how much of Himeko’s bigger hands can hold— she isn’t really that small but because Himeko’s hands are ridiculously long and broad (she’s both annoyed and attracted to this), she makes her waist look slender than it appears. She can’t deny how enrapturing the image looks nor can she ignore the wave of desire flickering within her stomach.
Himeko cheekily squeezes her hips and Kafka tries not to flinch at the burning touch. “I always forget you’re shorter than me. You love acting like you’re the one who wears the pants in the relationship when it’s the complete opposite.”
She’s dangerous. Kafka reached this conclusion when she spent her first night with Himeko and witnessed how overwhelmingly affection she can be when she wants to. It rarely happens but when it does, it never fails to surprise her with hot shivers.
Kafka is able to escape her hold once Yingxing returns to check in on them. She’s reminded of how easy it can be for Himeko to just manhandle her and Kafka doesn’t know whether she badly wants it or if she’s horrified(?) at the potential strength behind her muscles.
After all, there is a good reason why Himeko is admired often by not just her colleagues but also strangers whenever they take scenic walks or have casual dates together. Her well-endowed body not only invokes envy but also attracts unwanted attention that easily makes her blood boil. It already irritates her enough that Himeko is very aware of her own beauty, getting all smug so she can tease Kafka and how terrible she is at hiding her jealousy.
But can she be blamed for that? Himeko isn’t just an eye candy but also a darling to be with— anyone would get addicted to hanging around with her bright presence. She’s a whole package inside and outside that Kafka thanks fate or whatever higher being there is that has granted her such a wonderful wife.
The car ride home is as uneventful as it usually is whenever she gets off work. Himeko is behind the wheel and complaining about the traffic while Kafka is sprawled at the backseats, clutching a blanket close to her body as fatigue dares to sink into her muscles. She always has a difficult time sleeping in car rides or anywhere else other than a bed. But Himeko plays her a playlist that they made together and Kafka can relax under the gentle humming of her wife’s voice.
Once they arrive home, Himeko taps her shoulder several times until she’s able to snap out of her sleepy daze. They drag themselves inside the house and Kafka automatically shuffles her aching feet to the living room couch. But something yanks her from behind before she can collapse on top of it.
“Go shower!” Himeko sternly reminds her and Kafka releases a disgruntled groan before following her words.
The shower refreshes her mind into a mellow state and she sinks into that feeling when she smells freshly cooked food sitting at the dining table. With their banter filling up the soft pillowy air between them as they fill their stomachs, Kafka feels that rising need to touch Himeko.
It didn’t help when Himeko kept rubbing her foot against her calf under the table, unintentionally teasing her while she rambled on and on about robotics. Or how Himeko just likes to put her hands on Kafka in general as if it’s her basic instinct to do so— either in the form of stroking her hand or poking her skin playfully while she’s doing something else. It’s those simple yet electrifying touches that have Kafka fixated on her wife more than before.
Himeko is sitting in the living room, organizing through her paperwork with a critical look in her eyes. Kafka is sitting on her lap, nuzzling her neck to catch a whiff of that shampoo they share. Occasionally, Himeko stiffens when Kafka drags her palms along her arms, feeling up the warm skin with a satisfied smile. Himeko doesn’t scold her like how she usually does which means it’s a good sign for Kafka to continue
“You said I have to make it up to you.” Kafka pinches the side of her waist, capturing Himeko’s attention albeit annoyed.
“You can’t wait ten minutes?”
Kafka frowns against her neck. “That’s too long. I need to worship you right now.”
Himeko jolts when cold hands slither under her shirt and massage her ribcage— just barely touching the underside of her breasts. “Please don’t be lame and call it worship. You sound like a devout woman.”
“Maybe I am devoted in some way. You’re insanely gorgeous and kind that it’s driving me insane every day.” Kafka husks out a laugh as she grazes her teeth beneath her ear.
“I told you to wait!” Himeko flushes red while she smacks her arm.
Kafka pouts but she snuggles further into Himeko’s body. “Fine. Just tap me once you’re done.”
Unfortunately for Kafka who has suffered long hours on the set, the inevitable fatigue overtakes her mellowed senses with the help of Himeko’s soft humming and sweet kisses on her cheek. With Himeko’s work finally finished, she chuckles at her sleeping wife and moves them to the bedroom. Usually, Kafka is a light sleeper compared to Himeko but she doesn’t even wake up when she gets arranged on her side of the bed and gets tucked in.
It’s amusing to watch her very prominent celebrity wife curl up to her arm like a needy cat. Kafka hates being compared to them but that doesn’t stop Himeko from teasing her when it’s the truth. She swears her wife must have reincarnated into a human after living the life of a feline.
With all these unsaid jokes floating in Himeko’s mind, she also succumbs to sleep as she nuzzles Kafka’s silky hair.
Himeko doesn’t expect to fall into a cliche romance scene but fate seems to like playing jokes on her after her recent breakup with her five-year-long relationship. She swears that this is just the higher beings mocking her loneliness and inadequacy.
“Oh, did you want this?” The stranger with gorgeous wine-colored hair and a sharp smile picks up the lipstick she wants.
Himeko is unable to meet her eyes so she pretends to look for another product— this woman is way too pretty to need all that makeup sitting in her basket. “Y-yeah. I’ve been waiting for them to restock it.”
The stranger hums at her words, straightening her posture while she inspects the lipstick. Himeko stands there with a stiff expression, unsure how to approach this awkward atmosphere. But she isn’t prepared to feel how insanely soft the stranger’s hands are as she cups Himeko’s hand and sets down the lipstick on her palm.
Himeko dares to make eye contact and she feels her throat close up at how magnetic her smile is— it’s all smooth and decadent that reminds her of her favorite coffee blend. The stranger shifts her gaze downwards and they widen a little bit.
“Oh. You have a lot of calluses.” She casually turns her hand around, inspecting her way too closely.
“E-engineering.” Himeko wants to slap herself for sounding so stupid. It’s like she has forgotten all of her romantic skills with the simple sight of this stranger’s beauty.
“What’s your name, by the way?” Himeko decides to throw the dart, hoping it will land exactly where she wants it.
The stranger is surprised once again. “You… don’t know me?”
Himeko swallows dryly. “I mean- you look familiar. Maybe I’ve seen you in this store a few times. I’m a regular here.”
Then suddenly the stranger bursts into laughter and Himeko’s body locks up, uncertain if her words were that funny or if they offended her in some way. Then she watches her take out her phone and after some typing, she presents the screen to Himeko and she feels her heart drop at the pit of her stomach.
“O-oh my god! I’m so sorry! I didn’t realize you were-“
Kafka Hunter waves her hands with an amused laugh, trying to calm her down. “No worries! You’re not the only one who thought the same. I often look different when I’m off work.”
Himeko would like to argue that she still looks pretty without makeup and it’s all because she’s terrible at connecting a celebrity’s face to a name. She has seen Kafka often in prominent movies here and there but she looks even more otherworldly in person. She wants to apologize again for not recognizing her sooner but the words get stuck in her throat when Kafka switches the phone screen to the empty contact info.
“If it’s not too weird or creepy, I would love to get to know you more.” The energy beneath Kafka’s eyes and smile loses that earlier bravado, turning as bashful as Himeko is. “And it isn’t because of some cliche thing like I want to date you because you didn’t recognize me, I just think you’re really pretty and interesting that-“
Himeko almost snorts at her panicked rambling, trying so hard to ignore the harsh flutters sitting in her chest and the constant hot flush burning her cheeks. With careful hands, she types down her contacts on the screen and pushes it to Kafka’s shocked face.
“Then I hope you’re as great of a person as you are with romance movies.” Himeko shyly smiles at her, enjoying the way Kafka looks thrilled with her reciprocating feelings.
It feels so unreal— the way Kafka’s eyes crinkle into crescents and her cheeks sit high on her face as an excited grin stretches outwards. The way she clutches her phone as if she has obtained something precious from a mundane woman like her. The way she starts playing with her hair like a high school girl after she confesses to her crush. The way the tip of her ears turn completely red compared to her actual face, hiding beneath the mass of hair as if it’s concealing her true feelings.
How long has it been since she felt this good with someone? Is it too hasty for her to fall this quickly? Would this even go right with her? Is it too risky to get close to a celebrity?
Himeko shakes down those thoughts after she parted ways with Kafka, silently watching her go into another aisle and pick out another product with that same smile still glued on her face. She eventually snaps out of her dazed fascination for the stranger and hastily purchases her stuff, hoping to go back to her house so she can sit down with her rekindled heart and scream about it.
Unbeknownst to her, Kafka stares at her with a fond smile one last time that day, hoping for something more.
“It seems it’s my turn to go out of town.” Himeko announces as she throws her suitcase to the side of the couch and crashes onto the cushions.
Kafka peeks her head out from the kitchen doorway. “What?”
Himeko lifts her face, idly running her hands over her hair and pulling the ponytail off. “Business trip, dear.”
“Aww, don’t miss me too much.” Kafka saunters over to her with a tray of leftover food that she has reheated. Himeko pulls herself up and groans at the ache sitting between her shoulder blades.
Of course, Kafka knows exactly what to do and naturally takes the spot behind her and presses her knuckles down on the sore spots. Himeko murmurs her gratitude in soft sighs before she digs in to fill up her empty stomach.
“I could say the same to you. I still remember when you had to go on that press tour for a few weeks and you kept whining on the phone about how much you missed me.” Himeko lets out a pained yet relieved chuckle when Kafka pointedly applies more pressure on her massage.
Kafka frowns. “I never did that. You’re just mistaken.”
Himeko turns her head with a raised brow. “Babe, you were like… sexting me and asking for nudes. Do I also have to mention the walls of texts you kept sending me once every day? You were acting as if I was the one who left you.”
“Okay, okay! You’re just as bad!” Kafka groans with that adorable red taunting her ears. “You sent me videos…”
Himeko doesn’t want to recall all of that embarrassing nonsense when she is all sane and sober from those indecent thoughts. But she can’t help but remember blips of Kafka’s husky voice resounding from the phone speaker and flashes of her toned body adorned in sweat plaguing her mind. They definitely have their difficulties when they’re separated for too long from one another but Kafka even more so.
Kafka senses her silence and decides to sink her claws into the opportunity. “What are you thinking now?”
“Nothing.” Himeko answers too quickly.
“Oh please, you’re all red in the face.” Kafka playfully squeezes her cheeks together, earning a disgruntled sigh. “I’m not the only perverted one between us.”
“I’m just going to miss you, that’s all.” Himeko puts her bowl down and fully turns her body to her wife. “You’re going to be okay with the house, right?”
Kafka snorts, playing with the stray tuft of crimson hair tickling her cheek. “Why are you acting like you’re leaving a ten-year-old in a house alone?”
“Because the last time I left you for even one day, you called me about carbon monoxide in our house!”
Kafka tries not to laugh despite how incredibly concerning that situation is. “I thought it was safe to use that portable grill!”
“I told you that shit was still broken and I had to fix it. Thank god people were there to save you.” Himeko pinches her cheek.
Kafka grins at her annoyed expression. “Yes, all thanks to Yingxing and others. I wanted to treat them to a nice meal.”
Himeko squints at her. “So it was either they die from food poisoning or carbon monoxide.”
“You’re so mean, babe!” Kafka dramatically whines, looping her arms around her waist. “You can’t go for one day without being mean.”
“I’m just stating facts that my terrible wife has her flaws and she needs to recognize them.” Himeko shakes her head but a fond smile stretches her lips. Kafka secretly celebrates when she’s given an apologetic kiss on the cheek. “Now how about we go take a bath and watch movies-“
Kafka is already out of there before she can finish her sentence but her impatience causes her to bump against the edge of the doorway and groan in great pain. Himeko laughs, endeared by the foolishness of her lover.
A day hasn't even passed before Kafka shoots her wife a text that would rival academic essays, describing her painful longing and the absence of Himeko’s existence in their sweet home. Kafka is overreacting a little bit but she isn’t lying when she says she always misses her. Himeko replied a few hours later, reassuring her that she arrived safe and sound in her hotel and wouldn’t be able to respond to her texts or calls for a while. Kafka is used to such a thing since she also doesn't have many opportunities to contact her wife while working.
Kafka was able to handle her absence in the first three days she was gone. Sure, she had a harder time sleeping alone without Himeko’s warmth but surely that’s something she can easily handle for the next few weeks. After all, Kafka was used to living alone before Himeko entered her life. She had grown accustomed to sleepless nights and long work hours that didn't spare her a single relief. The only way she was able to live through those times was by requesting for Yingxing to fill up her calendar with more schedules.
But she doesn’t have the luxury at the moment since she’s supposed to be in her resting period. After finishing up her latest project, Yingxing advised her to take two or three months of rest before they proceed with another one. When she received the news, she was delighted at the prospect of spending a proper rest or using that precious time to hang out with Himeko. But to hear that Himeko would be out of town for three weeks, the daunting thought makes Kafka feel a little restless.
Kafka already had an idea of how important Himeko’s existence was in her life— she constantly praises it every day. But this is the first time she has experienced being alone in their shared house without Himeko for an extended period. No work can distract her from the loneliness because Yingxing forbids her and her friends, which she has very few in her contacts list, are quite busy with their respective lives to spend time with her. It's as if fate is doing its best to make her as lonely as possible and suffer for it.
She can already hear her wife calling her dramatic but of course she is! It's all Himeko’s fault that a woman like her now craves human interaction. It's all her fault that she's ruined and softened into the person that she is today. She wasn’t like this before— she was all mysterious and independent before Himeko came stumbling to her side with that stupidly pretty smile and taught her the meaning of life or whatever cliche thing one would find in a movie.
So lame. Kafka thinks as she pushes the vacuum through their carpets, diligently completing her chores all by her poor lonesome self. To fill up the uncomfortable silence of their home, Kafka has been playing Himeko’s record player every chance she gets. Her mind would create a picture of Himeko swaying around the center of the living room, shooting Kafka a grin before inviting her for a dance. Kafka imagines cradling Himeko in her embrace, pressing her cheek against her shoulder as they sway to the music— a heartbeat or two would sound out against her ear and they would both laugh as if they’re two high schoolers experiencing prom dance together.
Her vivid imagination only makes the annoying ache in her chest stronger as if it wants to bounce through the hollow spaces of the house without Himeko catching onto it. Kafka ends that day as monotonous as the previous days, laying on Himeko’s side of the bed and bearing with the coldness of the room.
It's all your fault, Himeko. You have ruined me.
Himeko breathes out a sigh of relief as she steps out of the hotel bathroom and plops down on the bed. She regrets wearing heels today but she also didn't expect walking around the city so much with her superiors.
At least the food she was treated to was great and the meeting went well with their future business partners. She has to be on her best behavior if they want to land a deal with the IPC conglomerates— the only reason why she was brought along was due to her prestige as an engineer and her eloquent nature. She remembers Kafka praising her for her social skills and she silently thanks her younger self for taking a class in business.
Speaking of her wife, as soon as she unmutes her phone, a barrage of missed notifications swarms her entire screen. Some from work and family but mostly from Kafka herself. Himeko smiles as she scrolls through her messages and photos— Some appear to be sweet and cheesy as always while a few others slightly worry her.
[Five days ago]
Loser Wife: Morning, my dear starlight. I hope you’re doing well out there.
Loser Wife: Don’t have too much fun with those sleazy business folks or else I’m going to be jealous. But this reminds me that we haven’t had a trip together in a while and I think we should fix that next summer.
Loser Wife: Let’s talk more about it when you come back. For now, stay safe and eat well. I love you!
[Three days ago]
Loser Wife: Hello!!! My dear wife of mine that I miss so badly!
Loser Wife: Eating alone sucks so much ass without you rambling to my ear about your boring work. I never realized how much I missed that part of our routine until I had to deal with the silence.
Loser Wife: I mean, I do like it because I spend all my time with other people talking my ear off about the next schedule or fans screaming my name whenever I go out. But just sitting in this silence for a long time is driving me insane.
Loser Wife: Can’t you just cancel that trip and come home already? Surely your presence there isn’t needed that much. Your darling wife at home is suffering and you must help her!
Loser Wife: As always, I miss you and love you! Don’t forgot to bring me souvenirs!
[Yesterday]
Loser Wife: It's nighttime and I’m having some trouble sleeping without you.
Loser Wife: I’ve been trying for the last two hours but it's as if my brain just can’t fully relax without you here. I’m sure I’ll pass out sooner or later but it sucks to feel this restless.
Loser Wife: Are you also having the same trouble? I hope not because you have a lot of work ahead of you. I’m sure this message will give you a lot of worry but rest assured, I’ll be able to handle it. I just need to get used to your absence.
Loser Wife: Anyway, sorry for all that. Text me as soon as you can, okay? I miss you and love you, Himeko.
And there are many more that Himeko has missed as she flicks through the screen, frowning at the smallest details and Kafka’s dismissive attitude toward her own feelings. She has come to know over the years that Kafka hates sentimental things and likes avoiding them as best as she can. But she has grown emotional over time and she has heard plenty from Kafka that she dislikes that change within her, causing her to feel soft and weak.
You have become more honest, not weak. Himeko would retort back and Kafka rolled her eyes at her, not able to argue against the truth.
Himeko calls her wife as soon as she finishes catching up on her missed notifications. To no surprise, Kafka immediately picks up as if she’s been waiting for her.
“Hey, starlight.” Himeko’s cheeks warm up at the sleepy voice tickling her ear.
“Hey, silly. How are you doing?”
There’s a small pause as she catches faint rustling from the background. “I finally finished that book my friend recommended to me.”
That doesn’t answer her question but she indulges her. “Was it as good as they said?”
“Yeah. I think you would enjoy it too. It’s quite a lengthy read.” Kafka hums softly.
Himeko feels the urge to see her face. “Can we video call?”
“Oh, sure.” Kafka’s feigned nonchalance causes her to chuckle. It reminds her of the honeymoon phase of their blooming relationship— the time when the both of them hid what they truly felt for one another.
She puts her phone out and smiles wide upon seeing Kafka’s handsome face flicker on the screen. They give each other a small wave and the fondness of it all explodes with heat in Himeko’s chest.
“Is that my shirt?” Himeko notices the familiar print and Kafka extends her arm to show off what she’s wearing.
“Yeah. What’s yours is mine, after all.”
Himeko rolls her eyes before focusing back on her. “Anyways, you haven't answered my question.”
This is why she wanted to see her. A slight hesitation crosses Kafka’s face before she sees Himeko’s stern gaze pinned on her. Even without saying anything, Kafka knows that there’s no way for her to sneak out of this. It’s better to deal with it than make Himeko argue when it’s late at night.
“I’m doing well. But I’m just realizing some things after being alone here for the first time.”
Himeko falls on the mattress and turns on her side, pressing her warm cheek against the soft pillow. “Tell me about them.”
Another pause sends temporary unease within her chest. Kafka looks away for a second, imagining the gears turning on her head as she sorts through her thoughts. The pause becomes a few minutes but Himeko has all the patience to wait for it.
The gentle smile that Kafka is greeted by is what prompts her to pick herself up.
“It’s getting harder and harder to bear the loneliness the more times I spent loving you.”
Himeko blinks, not expecting the gravity of her words to drop on her heart that easily. It splashes onto the surface and creates a ripple that sends goosebumps across her body.
“Sounds like one of your movie lines.” Himeko dumbly replies.
The attempt at jest stretches a lazy smile from Kafka’s face. Himeko lets herself relax. “Mhm, but it’s true. You don’t know how much you’ve impacted my life.”
Himeko really doesn’t. It’s hard for her brain to comprehend the idea that she’s significant enough to influence another person. It almost feels surreal to see it in real-time as well. Himeko isn’t the only one who picked up things from her. Sometimes, she catches Kafka doing things that Himeko would normally do and it’s an endearing experience to witness.
Kafka would begin picking up her linguistic habits, she would start waking up early as well when she had never done that before, she’s able to brew her coffee the exact way Himeko wants it, she would open her feelings often at the darkest hour of the night and now, Kafka is confessing that her influence has played a major part in filling up that loneliness.
Himeko shares that sentiment as well. She can’t imagine a life without Kafka anymore for all of her future plans will always include her in the picture.
“I always find that hard to believe, you know.” Himeko murmurs quietly.
Kafka’s expression softens and Himeko is distracted by how soft her wife looks with her hair spilling across her face and neck. “Then I will keep saying it until you believe it.”
Himeko laughs with her heart in her hands. A predictable Kafka response that never fails to break and mold her sanity back together. It will never get old and Himeko hopes that she won’t stop saying it.
“I love you.” Himeko spills out— she must look like a fool in love.
Kafka graciously welcomes it all. She can feel her love sear into her skin and make her whole again.
“I love you too.”
By the time Himeko returns home, she has to brace for impact before Kafka launches forward and almost tackles her to the ground. She laughs breathlessly as her wife begins showering her with kisses, whining about how much she has missed her. Himeko, along with her baggage and a needy wife in her arms, drags themselves across the hallway and squeals when Kafka tries to pull her down on the couch.
“Babe! Let me clean first!” Himeko manages to dislodge out of Kafka’s suffocating embrace and races towards the bathroom before she is captured again.
By the time she finishes and enters the living room with fresh clothes, a pout sits on her wife’s face while she carefully organizes Himeko’s belongings out of her luggage. But that’s easily wiped away once Himeko joins her side and kisses her soft cheek.
Himeko rubs her hair, causing Kafka to lean towards the touch. “I’m sorry for making you wait.”
“Don’t be. I’m just happy that you came home safe.” Kafka says with earnest, giving a chaste kiss on her lips. “But don’t leave me here again. It was awful not knowing what to do around here.”
Himeko chuckles, looping a strand of hair around her finger. Kafka follows her touches and wraps her arms around her waist. “What happened to your little hobbies?”
“I did them but three weeks of being by myself in this house took a toll on me.”
She hears a hitch of breath when Himeko lifts her chin, nothing too significant but the action silently demands Kafka’s attention. “You aren’t the only one suffering, you know.”
Kafka’s smile pulls open with delighted surprise. “Tell me about it.”
“I will. But for now, I’m starving.” Himeko pulls Kafka along with her as if she’s glued with her and they clumsily trudge towards the kitchen. “I’ll cook tonight.”
Kafka furrows her brows. “Aren’t you tired?”
“I am but you’re making it easier.” Himeko kisses her cheek— she really can’t help herself.
It seems Kafka is unable to hold back either as she reciprocates with a kiss on her jaw.
In the last month of her vacation rest, Kafka has become used to the mundane yet gratifying routine of loving her wife— she pulls down Himeko’s coat from the front door and hangs it for her, sets down her belongings so she can rest at the couch after a long day, bring the food Kafka has ordered because she’s banned from cooking anything without Himeko, and spend her time massaging the tight knots around her wife’s shoulders while she relishes to her soft relieved sighs.
Himeko is usually too tired to return any banter so she just lets Kafka throw her usual jokes at her that would have pissed her off any other day. But Kafka eventually gives up because it doesn’t feel the same when Himeko doesn’t react to any of them. So she lets herself be nice and sweet for Himeko’s sake— the things people do for love horrified her years ago and now she’s doing that same thing.
But there’s an interesting development as well that happens to Himeko after their marriage. While she remains the rational person between them (who still gets easily irritated when Kafka pushes her buttons), she has become more affectionate after years of enduring and loving together. So she always gets caught off guard whenever Himeko is the one who initiates between them and tonight is one of those rare times that she lets her feelings get the best of her.
Kafka’s shoulders jump at the warm sensation of Himeko’s hands sliding around her waist. A tired hum tickles her nape before she lays soft kisses along the skin, sending delighted shivers through her bones. In front of the vanity mirror, her face becomes flushed with red while she clumsily fumbles to grab her skin cream.
Himeko chuckles at her before increasing the fervor in her movements as she begins nipping her neck and pushing her hands under her shirt to squeeze and palm her skin as if it’s clay. Kafka naturally leans back, muffling her embarrassing noises after Himeko teasingly brushes her fingers at the underside of her heaving chest.
She can hear the disapproving hum tickle the back of her ear, warning her to stay still and keep looking at their reflections. Kafka weakly glares at the golden eyes pinned on her and drinks in the flushed appearance of her wife. She almost whines from her intense gaze but she isn’t too deep into it yet to do anything that pathetic.
“You’re interrupting me.” Kafka manages to say this through her panting voice. This sentence was often used by Himeko but she hates how it has become a part of her vocabulary too.
The corners of Himeko’s lips turn upwards in amusement. “Are you complaining? I thought you like it when I’m more honest?”
“I can complain and enjoy myself.” Kafka grits her teeth when one hand suddenly slithers beneath the band of her pants and squeezes her hip. “You’re just… awfully clingy.”
“Awful? Is it so awful when I’m touching you how you want it and you’re being cute like this?” Himeko’s husky voice never fails to send a violent jolt down her abdomen. Gods, she sounds sinful even when she hasn’t said any vulgar words or touched her in places where Kafka needs her most.
Kafka gasps when Himeko grabs her jaw and tilts her head forward— she doesn’t even realize that she stopped looking at the mirror. “H-hey, I want to do my skincare first before-“
“You can still do it.” Himeko challenges her with a small smile. “Don’t let me distract you, dear.”
It’s never that simple. Kafka swallows dryly— fuck, now she just wants to abandon this stupid routine and let Himeko have her way.
Kafka finds it difficult to maintain her focus as Himeko continues her loving ministrations, sliding her lips across any skin she can touch and sending delightful shivers that would soon flutter violently in her heart. She occasionally jumps with a small gasp when blunt nails scrape the skin under her shirt, sliding along her abdomen and teasing upwards as if she’s about to hook her fingers over her bra.
She pins her arms against the vanity, hissing at the softness of Himeko’s breasts thinly covered by her silky nightdress pressing on her back. Both of them lean against the mirror and excitement floods her senses like adrenaline when she makes eye contact with Himeko. Golden eyes glint with an unbridled desire that’s ready to ruin her body with the way her touches grow bolder with each second passing.
“I thought you were going to finish?” Himeko has the audacity to ask with that smug look. Kafka tries to twist her body around so she can talk some sense to her but Himeko’s firm grip on her waist forbids her.
The firm control Himeko easily wields sends a spike of arousal deep in her stomach. But what she doesn’t expect is Himeko’s hand swinging down to land a harsh smack on her thigh, waking up every cell in her body until it feels like all of them are burning up. She lurches forward at the sudden impact, blearily blinking as the sparks in her head burn her sanity away.
Himeko laughs against the shell of her ear. “You’re so cute.”
Kafka bites her lip as she looks down on herself, squirming at Himeko’s hand slowly making its way under the band of her sleeping shorts. Himeko blindly unties the knot, smiling at Kafka’s adorable sounds and the way her body melts in her embrace.
“H-Himeko, just get on with it!” Kafka protests, pushing her nails against her forearms in hopes that the pain will kickstart Himeko’s lust.
The last warning she receives is a small hiss tickling her neck before Himeko wraps her broad hand around her slender neck, fingers slowly applying more pressure that makes Kafka see stars beneath her eyelids. Kafka bucks her hips in shameless desperation when Himeko finally slides her fingers over her cunt and releases a shaky sigh at the wetness that has already collected.
“Fuck, you’re already this wet…” Himeko husks out as she swipes two fingers over her clit. Kafka jolts with a strained moan, tears gathering beneath her eyelashes while she rests her head against Himeko.
Himeko admires the flushed look on Kafka’s face, cooing when those pretty violet eyes silently plead to her for relief.
Kafka groans with another thrust of her hips, causing Himeko’s fingers to poke against the entrance of her cunt. “P-please, please, please! Just fuck me already!”
She doesn’t realize she has been more pent up than usual and that her body is begging for any kind of relief. Himeko loves watching her wife, a sought-after celebrity who is known for her talents and mysterious allure, be reduced into a blushing messy state— to the point that all she begs for is Himeko’s affection over and over again. It strikes hot against her ego, burning her alive with renewed vigor before she roughly pulls Kafka from the vanity and they fall back on the bed.
Kafka wastes no time shedding off her clothes, flinging her shirt off and kicking her shorts until Himeko has to help with disentangling them from her ankles. Her needy hands claw against Himeko’s shoulders, arching her back to feel more of her hands mapping every sinful curve and toned muscle on her body. A gasp tumbles out once Himeko cups the unbearable heat between her thighs, gently preparing her with two fingers before slipping them inside with a slow push.
Himeko doesn’t move yet but she starts planting fervent kisses on her breasts. Her mouth latches onto a nipple and she groans at the sounds of Kafka’s moans, savoring her like she’s fine wine. She feels goosebumps crawl up her arm when she feels Kafka’s walls squeeze around her, silently asking for Himeko to move but she goes against it despite her composure slipping out.
Kafka swears that her wife’s self-control is too annoying to deal with. She begins grinding down on her hand, shamelessly staring up at Himeko’s heated gaze with a grin that she knows challenges Himeko’s pride.
“Come on, b-baby- ngh! Don’t you w-want to fuck me? Did you forget how to? Do you want me to t-take over and- fuck, Himeko- ride you instead?” Kafka goads her over and over, seeing her jaw clench and her eyes narrow like an aggravated predator.
Then another slap deliciously stings her other thigh, causing Kafka to squirm under her with a broken moan. Himeko growls against her lips. “Be a good girl, Kafka. Or else I’m leaving you like this.”
Kafka knows she won’t do that and Himeko is too much of a sweetheart to leave her like this. But her lust-driven mind believes the statement wholeheartedly that she’s afraid she might actually do it. Kafka nods her head vigorously, keeping herself still and quiet while Himeko shushes her with a gentle smile.
But Kafka believes that a smile is anything but nice. Himeko can be cruel if she wants— cruel with her kindness and love that she intends to suffocate Kafka in it. Kafka shudders when Himeko starts thrusting her fingers, hearing her moan about how wet and tight she feels around her. Her brazen words burn her ears like molten lava, melting all over her until they encompass her heart.
But to her great relief, Himeko is in an impatient mood tonight as she picks up the pace after hearing Kafka moaning sweetly against her ear. She continues to lick and kiss her skin until bruises bloom across the surface. Himeko glows with pride at the depraved visual of her wife before descending to her lips and whispering sweet nothings.
“You’re so good to me. Look at how well you’re taking me, my love. I love making you feel good. I love watching you cry and beg for it. You don’t mind it when I bully you, right? You actually love it when I’m a little bit mean.” Himeko husks out with an unkind laugh, enchanted by the tearful eyes staring up at her with reverence.
Her heart aches at the beautiful sight. She plunges her fingers deeper, curving them upwards to hear that delicious cry echo across the bedroom. Her other hand moves towards her chest, rolling and pinching her sensitive nipples until tears gather on her flushed cheeks.
Kafka chokes when Himeko slams the heel of her palm against her clit, grinding it down until her hips start shaking uncontrollably. All of a sudden, she is right there at the edge. The heat has covered the entirety of her trembling body and the frayed rope tugs and pulls as if it’s about to snap.
Kafka begins crying for it, looking up at her with unfiltered love and desperation. With all the neediness and lust that she can muster, she lets it all out. “I-I’m gonna- fuck! Himeko, please! L-let me cum! I-I’ll be good, I swear! So please please please please-“
Himeko brushes her hair back, granting herself a better view of the pleasure written all over Kafka’s flushed face. “Of course you can.” Himeko shushes her cries, feeling her drenched cunt clench excitedly around her fingers.
It isn’t long after Himeko allows her that the electrifying shocks of pain and pleasure start shooting all over her body. Himeko holds her down, ensuring her safety with soft praises while Kafka releases a punched-out screen and convulses uncontrollably in her arms. She clutches onto Himeko, muttering her name incoherently as the orgasm numbs her senses.
“Wow…” it’s the first thing Himeko says as she looks down on her, feeling her throb endlessly before forcing herself to pull out.
Kafka tries to steady her breathing, huffing against Himeko’s shoulder as she lets the aftershocks flutter across her skin. “My fucking god…” Kafka wheezes out.
Himeko gives her a warm smile. “Let me get you some water and a towel.”
Kafka receives a kiss on her forehead before she feels the bed dip and footsteps quickly run out of the door. She whines at the warm air circulating the bedroom, needing something cold to fight against it. What makes it worse is the stickiness of her sweat coating her body and the wetness dripping between her legs. But she doesn’t have to wait long for the discomfort when Himeko arrives with the essentials and cleans her up.
Kafka glares at her wife, noticing how smug she is despite her attentiveness. “Your fault.”
Himeko raises a brow at her, lifting her hips so she can slip the shorts back on. “Come on, we both enjoyed it.”
“Now I have to redo my skincare!” Kafka huffs as she pats her face.
“Now you understand what I feel whenever you interrupt my routines with your seductions.” Himeko fires back at her.
Kafka crosses her arms. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Don’t act dumb. Remember when you went down on me during a meeting call in my office?” Himeko makes her point by lightly slapping her leg with the towel.
Kafka remembers it all too well. She enjoyed watching the subtle frustration painting her face while Kafka was being a menace under her desk. It was highly inappropriate and they agreed to never do it again but the result was satisfactory when Himeko became all wound up and angry that she took it out on her in the sexiest way possible.
But still, she can’t have Himeko doing the same to her. That’s illegal. Kafka doesn’t hate it but she feels so obedient and pliant whenever Himeko takes the lead. She always gets post-nut clarity from the whole situation and scolds herself for letting her guard down. But she knows that it will happen again and Himeko will always have a lot to give as a lover.
“Anyways, can you carry me to the bathroom?” Kafka opens her arms, feeling ashamed that her legs get weak easily after sex— it’s not her fault that Himeko can be insatiable sometimes.
Instead of teasing her about it, Himeko carries her in her arms and waits for her to finish relieving her bladder. Once they have finally prepared themselves for the night, Himeko tucks both of them in bed and Kafka naturally pulls her closer.
Himeko nuzzles her neck as the calm atmosphere settles into her bones. Kafka heaves out a sigh, pressing her nose against crimson hair and taking a small whiff of her scent.
Other than a few exchanges of goodnight kisses, both of them don’t say anything. They don’t have to when the resounding feeling of I love you echoes deeply in their hearts.
