Meraki Academy was an Academy to help build future masters and mistresses of light or dark magic.
Florence Avery was known for having a huge obsession with the royal Prince; Yoo Joonghyuk. To the point that she would always try to talk to him, sit next to him in classes and have his attention.,
It didn’t matter that Joonghyuk always rejected her, to the point of even yelling and threatening the girl, Florence would always stalk the Prince and make any girl be away from him.
So why now Florence Avery was avoiding Yoo Joonghyuk like he was the devil?
Well dear reader, that’s quite simple; because that wasn’t Florence Avery anymore.
Florence Martinelli was an avid reader, she read every book, webnovel and fanfiction that ever existed. So imagine her surprise when she woke up and saw that she was in the web novel “Tamed by the Hunter”, as the small villain; Florence Avery! Who not only had her first name but also had some similarities with her physical appearance.
She knew that Florence Avery died in the story after being expelled from the Academy when the girl poisoned the female lead; Lee Seolhwa.
And because of that Florence decided to avoid Joonghyuk as much as she can, just to keep being alive and seeing her favorite characters' plot lines happen.
By irony of fate, Florence ended up being friends with the funny Kim Dokja; a side character that later on would be one of Joonghyuk’s closest friends.
“You know, I have to ask you, Florence.” Kim Dokja began saying, and the girl stared at him curiously. “Why did you stop stalking Yoo Joonghyuk? Not that I think you should continue being a creepy stalker, because otherwise I won’t be your friend anymore, it’s just because you suddenly had a change of heart…”
Florence smiled at her only friend.
“I think it’s because I realized that I didn’t truly like him, I only liked the image I had in my mind of him. You know when you like someone so much that you start to lose your own personality just to live in the life of this person?” She asked, Kim Dokja nodded his head. “That was how I was feeling about Joonghyuk. I don’t want to be the villain only to live in his presence, I don’t want to be the ghost of my own life. I want to love someone and be reciprocated, to be held in their arms and understand that I matter and deserve to be cherished.”
Kim Dokja stared at Florence’s eyes, trying to see if she was lying or not. It was difficult to believe that Florence Avery would ever give up on Yoo Joonghyuk; she liked him even before they saw each other in the Academy, always talking about how they would marry and be together for the rest of their lives.
After some minutes – that seemed more like hours to Florence – Kim Dokja nodded his head, satisfied with whatever thing he saw in the girl’s eyes.
“Well Florrie, I believe in you. And if you need help running away from Yoo Joonghyuk, I will help you.” Kim Dokja said and smiled brightly at his friend.
Florence laughed at the choice of nickname he gave her. It was good having a friend, no one in “Tamed by a Hunter” liked Florence Avery, and maybe Kim Dokja was too kind-hearted when he decided to be friends with an ex-stalker, but she wouldn’t complain.
The two of them continued to be each other’s company while sitting in their usual spot of the cafeteria, Florence could feel people’s eyes looking at her and Kim Dokja. The whispers of students asking why a guy would like to hangout with a crazy stalker like Florence Avery made the transmigrator feel anxious.
In her world, guys never looked at Florence, often being ignored since she was a chubby girl with a lot of acne and bushy hair. And things didn’t change much since she transmigrated, Florence was now a small villain that had similar physical appearance, but now it had rumors, it had whispers, laughs and remarks.
“I mean, can we blame her for being a psycho? Look at her size, no guy would want someone like Florence Avery, she being the Archduke’s only daughter or not.”
“Poor girl, trying to catch the attention of Prince Yoo Joonghyuk when she looks like that .”
“I wonder what Kim Dokja, the Lord Hades and Lady Persephone’s son is doing by hanging out with someone like the Avery heiress.”
“Maybe he lost a bet?”
“Maybe Kim Dokja-ssi is doing a favor having lunch with the pathetic Avery girl.”
Florence finished her lunch and then left the cafeteria. Her chest hurt with anxiety, she wished to be somewhere else, to be away from the prying eyes of people and their horrible comments about her appearance.
Walking through the Academy, Florence started thinking about how the story would go on now that she was there. Florence would make sure to stay as far as possible from Yoo Joonghyuk, especially after Lee Seolhwa save him from being used as a vessel by one of the dead masters of dark magic. Which would make him be seen as a complex character to like.
It would be easy to ignore Yoo Joonghyuk, it’s not like the universe would want them to cross paths, Florence was hated by him, he would never want to talk to her.
Staring at the floor, Florence ended up bumping into someone.
“Sorry I wasn't seeing–” She began saying.
“Do you really want me to believe that you weren't stalking me?!” A deep, harsh voice spoke.
Florence lifted her head, staring at Yoo Joonghyuk's hardened eyes. But when she finally processed what he said, Florence made a face of anger.
“Well, I wasn't stalking you. I have better things to do than stalk a sunfish bastard that stinks more than the dirty river of this Kingdom.” She spat and continued walking, making sure to bump her shoulder with his body.
She wanted to bump him so hard that he stumbled, but her 5’4 feet tall compared to Joonghyuk 6’1 height didn't made this happen. But Florence could savor his surprised expression.
Florence had a huge crush on Joonghyuk when she read the manhwa, can you blame her?! He was tall, mysterious and had enough muscle to make her think that his hugs were comfortable. Yet, no amount of beauty could make her ignore how much of a bastard Yoo Joonghyuk could be, even though his father, the King, was absent, and his mother died, Joonghyuk was still spoiled.
But it wasn't like she would encounter him that much, they didn't share that much classes and Joonghyuk despised her so much that he would surely thank the Gods that she was avoiding him. So Florence will follow her plan of never interacting with the main protagonist, all so she can live her life as the next Lady Avery; full of cats, lots of food, and being the Mistress of Dark magic that her father was expecting Florence to be since she had affinity to darker magics and artifacts.
Yoo Joonghyuk would soon forget her existence from how much she was avoiding him.
