Recently on a couple of my stories including this one, I have been accused of using ai. I do not support the use of ai at all for any reason and i mean this is the nicest possible way, i’d rather die before use ai and claim it’s work as my own.
These accusations are based on the fact that my wording and formatting have changed as well as content in my stories. It was also because of characters saying “nothing important that contributes to the plot.” Everything I do is for a reason, even as small as you think it’d be it’s important to the plot for me.
With that i’d like to just say some of these chapters have been sitting in my docs since before i even joined archive. They would just get posted without editing vs now the more recent ones I actually try to pay attention to. That means some of these chapters are very old and reflect my voice back then vs the newer chapters are more recent and reflect my voice now.
I realize that the way I write may seem weird, but I've changed as a writer and I feel my stories reflect the change. I also go through periods of time where i will go back and reread my work and just cringe, so i try to update old chapters to match my current voice and formatting just so i feel it is acceptable to still be on the internet which is why sometimes the chapters will change after I've posted them. Sometimes I forget to delete the originals and that’s on me.
There was also a point being made about the way I format my sentences, using some fruitier heavy language that gets flagged as ai and some use of em dashes. I was in advanced English for three years because of my writing style, and it’s just proper grammar to avoid run on sentences. Sometimes the use of em dashes is unavoidable. This does not make a work ai because they use words or language other writers wouldn’t.
AI detectors are also only good at so much and can often be wrong, and i don’t appreciate my work even being given to anything to judge ai. My work is my own and should not be used anywhere or given to other sites without MY permission.
I’m sorry if this makes any of you uncomfortable but I felt I had to address it because I do not stand for use of ai, and i don’t appreciate being accused of ai. These are my own original works and they matter very much to me and I had to address this. I’m sorry if I lose any followers for this, or if this pissed off some people. I really am but it needed to be said.
