Chapter Text
“Moiraine! Moiraine, wake up!”
Moiraine's eyes slowly opened, frowning at bright sunlight. She rubbed her eyes and closed them again with a huff.
“Don't be stubborn. Get up!” Siuan said excitedly, half-jumping onto the bed. “I've got exciting news for you. Oh Light, it's been so long since I've attended one of these.” Siuan held up a small scroll of paper to Moiraine's face and waved it around.
“Unless it's another prophecy, let me sleep, for Light's sake,” Moiraine grumbled. She buried her face into the pillow.
Siuan sighed and decided to read the letter out loud.
“Good Citizens of Tar Valon and Whitebridge, we are proud to announce that the Fandom Festival will be available to enter in early spring of 1000 NE. You will find a ter'angreal upon entry in the White Tower, a portal to the waiting area. 10 marks as payment for admission, to the novice waiting outside.”
Moiraine's head perked up. “I haven't been to one of those since I was a girl. I remember being afraid of the large mechanical cats. Could you believe it? I was five!”
Siuan laughed, laying down next to Moiraine and pulling the covers over her. She threw a leg and arm around Moiraine and hugged her tightly, Moiraine's face resting in the crook of her neck.
“So, shall we attend the festival? I would like to go, but if you aren't comfortable, we don't have to.” She felt Moiraine smile against her skin.
“Of course I want to. That's the only valid place to spend coin on food.”
“Dear Light, you do make a bloody awful fishwife.”
“Be thankful I'm your fishwife.”
They both chuckled at the fond memory, Moiraine's eyes slowly closing again, Siuan stroking her hair.
