Work Text:

Dust was methodical in his work, every task performed with an unwavering precision that bordered on the obsessive. It was this meticulous nature that made him invaluable to Nightmare, who demanded perfection in all things. The office nightmare assigned to dust for the day was cold. It was always cold in the dark castle, consumed by negativity. The desk was an expensive dark wood that probably cost thousands. The sound of pen on paper was the only thing you could hear in the quiet room. His hand began to cramp up as he finished writing the last of the reports on the last mission. He was in charge of the previous mission, set out to scope out an Au that was reported to house an immense amount of negativity. As Dust sorted through the latest reports, his mind wandered, slipping past the cold logic of his duties to linger on something, or rather, someone far more distracting: Blue.

Blue, with his infectious optimism and kind-hearted nature, stood in stark contrast to Dust’s stoic demeanor. He was a beacon of light in the otherwise dark and ruthless world dust inhabited. For years, Dust had kept his feelings for Blue buried deep, locked away behind a facade of indifference. It was safer that way. Or so he told himself. But lately, those feelings had grown harder to ignore. They crept into his thoughts at the most inconvenient times, pulling his attention away from the task at hand. Dust prided himself on his control, yet Blue managed to unravel him with a single smile. He didn’t believe that a kind soul such as blue could be romantically interested in him, knowing his past. Dust thought of himself as a foul monster, ruthless, and merciless. The hallucinations of his dead brother confirmed his self destructive thoughts.

As Dust worked, he could hear the faint hum of Blue’s voice from the adjoining room. Blue was talking with Nightmare, discussing the latest strategy for their upcoming mission. The sound was comforting, like a distant melody that soothed his frayed nerves. He paused, listening intently. Blue’s voice carried a warmth that was rare in their line of work. It was a reminder of what was still good in the world, a beacon of hope that Dust found himself drawn to more and more each day.

Shaking his head, Dust forced himself to focus. There was no room for distractions. Not here. Not now. But even as he resumed his work, he couldn’t help but wonder how much longer he could keep his feelings hidden.

As Weeks passed, each day blurring into the next as Dust and Blue continued their work under Nightmare’s command. Dust’s feelings for Blue grew stronger, becoming an ever-present ache in his chest. He knew he had to do something about it, but the question was what.Blue was intelligent and perceptive, always seeming to know what others were thinking and feeling. One evening, as they were reviewing the latest reconnaissance data, Dust decided to make his move. He would start small, with simple acts of kindness that would hopefully go unnoticed by anyone but Blue.

“Hey, Blue,” Dust spoke, his voice carefully neutral. “I noticed you’ve been working late a lot recently. Thought you might need this.” He handed Blue a cup of coffee, perfectly brewed to his liking. Sometimes, although creepy, he takes the initiative to stalk blue inorder to get his schedule: file reports, talk to nightmare, coffee, train, and the rest if the day is free.Blue looked up, a flicker of surprise in his eye lights. “Thanks, Dust. That’s thoughtful of you.” his voice held that natural beauty that's always been there.Dust shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. “Just figured you could use a break.” Blue smiled, a genuine, heartwarming smile that made Dust’s chest tighten. “I appreciate it. Really.”

Dust stood awkwardly, he didn't know how to handle situations where blue showed even the slightest hint of kindness. His soul thumped against his ribcage as his face threatened to flush with a purple hue. He turned on his heel and headed towards the door of blue's designated office. “Any time” and with that, he dashed out of the room holding this memory dear to his heart.

As the days turned into weeks, Dust continued his subtle gestures. He would leave Blue’s favorite snacks on his desk, ensure his workspace was always neat and organized, and offer help whenever Blue seemed overwhelmed. Each act was a small, silent declaration of his feelings, a way to show Blue that he cared without having to say the words out loud. Of course this was out of the ordinary, and everyone saw it. Dust was never one to truly show or express any emotion.

Blue seemed to notice, his expressions of gratitude becoming more frequent. There were moments when their eyes would meet, and Dust could almost believe that Blue felt something too. But then the moment would pass, and they would return to their work, their unspoken feelings lingering in the air between them.

Dust’s subtle efforts to get closer to Blue did not go unnoticed by others. Nightmare, always observant and sharp, had begun to watch him with a calculating eye. Dust knew that Nightmare would not tolerate any disruptions within his crew, especially not something as dangerous as unrequited love. One evening, as Dust was finishing up his tasks, Nightmare approached him. The room seemed to grow colder with his presence, his intimidating aura impossible to ignore.

“Dust,” Nightmare said, his voice low and measured. “A word.”

Dust nodded, following Nightmare to a more secluded area. The tension in the air was palpable, and Dust braced himself for the worst.“I’ve noticed your… attentions towards Blue,” Nightmare began, his eyes piercing through Dust’s defenses. “While I understand the complexities of our emotions, I need to know that it will not interfere with your duties.”Dust swallowed hard, maintaining his composure. “It won’t. I assure you, my feelings won’t affect my performance.”

Nightmare studied him for a moment, as if weighing the truth of his words. Finally, he nodded. “We cannot afford any distractions, especially now.”With that, Nightmare left, leaving Dust alone with his thoughts. He felt a mixture of relief and dread. Nightmare’s warning was clear, but it did nothing to quell the feelings that had taken root in his soul.

Despite Nightmare’s warning, Dust couldn’t suppress his feelings for Blue. They continued to work together, their bond growing stronger with each passing day. Blue’s kindness and optimism were a balm to Dust’s weary soul, a reminder of what he was fighting for.

One evening, as they were wrapping up their work, Blue turned to Dust with a thoughtful expression. “You’ve been different lately,” he said softly. “More attentive. I just wanted to say thank you. It means a lot.”Dust felt a surge of warmth at Blue’s words. He struggled to find the right response, his usual monotone voice betraying a hint of emotion. “I just wanted to make things easier for you. You do so much for all of us, even after every thing we put you through.”Blue smiled, a soft, almost wistful smile. “You’re a good friend, Dust. I’m glad we have each other.”

Friend. The word was like a dagger to Dust’s heart, a painful reminder of the distance that still lay between them. But he forced himself to smile back, nodding in agreement. “Yeah. Me too.”As they parted ways for the night, Dust couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something more between them, something unspoken yet undeniable. It was a fragile hope, but it was enough to keep him going.

Just as Dust began to believe that there might be a chance for something more between him and Blue, a shadow from Blue’s past re-emerged. Dream and Ink, former comrades of Blue from the Star Sanses, arrived with urgent news.

Their presence was a stark reminder of the life Blue had left behind, a world of positivity and creation that seemed so far removed from the one they now inhabited. Dust watched from the shadows as Blue greeted his old friends, a mix of joy and sadness in his eyes.

“We need your help, Blue,” Dream said, his voice filled with urgency. “There’s a threat to the multiverse, and we can’t do it without you.”Blue hesitated, glancing over at nightmaresnd his new team. The look in his eyes was conflicted, torn between his loyalty to his old friends and his commitment to his current crew. The council felt tense was blue's decision was left on a cliff hanger. He was given a choice. Nightmare sat at one end of the marble and crystal table, his expression un readable.

Dust felt a pang of jealousy and fear. He knew how much Dream and Ink meant to Blue, how they represented everything he had once believed in. If Blue chose to leave, Dust wasn’t sure he could handle it.But Blue shook his head, his expression resolute. “I can’t. I have responsibilities here, people who rely on me. I’m sorry.”

Dream looked disappointed but nodded in understanding. “We’ll manage. Take care of yourself, Blue.”As Dream and Ink left, Dust approached Blue, his heart pounding. “You didn’t have to stay,” he said quietly. “we would have understood.”

Blue turned to him, a hint of sadness in his eyes. “I couldn’t leave. Not now.”The words were simple, but they carried a weight that Dust couldn’t ignoreWith the past behind them, Dust and Blue settled back into their routine. But something had shifted between them. There was a new closeness, an unspoken understanding that brought them even closer.Dust continued his small acts of kindness, but now they were met with more than just gratitude. Blue seemed to reciprocate in subtle ways, leaving little notes of encouragement for Dust, sharing inside jokes, and finding reasons to spend more time together.

One evening, as they were working late, Blue turned to Dust with a playful grin. “You know, we’ve been so busy lately. How about we take a break? Maybe grab some food and just…relax?” Dust’s heart skipped a beat. It was a simple suggestion, but it felt like a monumental step forward. “Sure,” he replied, trying to keep his voice steady. “That sounds nice.”

They found a quiet spot away from the base, sharing a meal and talking about everything and nothing. For the first time in a long while, Dust felt truly at ease. Blue’s presence was like a balm to his soul, soothing the turmoil that had plagued him for so long.

As the night wore on, they found themselves sitting side by side, the silence between them comfortable and companionable. Dust glanced at Blue, his heart aching with unspoken words. He wanted to say so much, to tell Blue how he felt, but the fear of rejection held him back.

Instead, he settled for a simple gesture, reaching out to take Blue’s hand in his. Blue looked surprised for a moment, then his expression softened, and he gave Dust’s hand a gentle squeeze.

It wasn’t a confession, but it was enough For now.

The more time Dust and Blue spent together, the deeper their bond grew. Their late-night conversations became a cherished routine, a sanctuary where they could be themselves without fear of judgment. But as their connection deepened, so did the complexity of their emotions. Dust found himself struggling with the intensity of his feelings, the constant battle between his desire to be close to Blue and his fear of crossing a line he couldn’t uncross.

One evening, as they were working on a particularly challenging mission briefing, Blue turned to Dust with a thoughtful expression. “Dust, can I ask you something?”Dust nodded, his soul pounding. “Of course.”Blue hesitated, as if searching for the right words. “Do you ever wonder… what if things were different? If we weren’t working for Nightmare, if we were just… normal people living normal lives on the surface?”

Dust’s breath caught in his throat. It was a question that had haunted him for years. “sometimes,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. “But this is our reality. We have to make the best of it.”Blue nodded, a hint of sadness in his eyes. “Yeah, I guess you’re right. But sometimes, I can’t help but wish…”

He trailed off, leaving the sentence unfinished. Dust knew exactly what he meant. There were times when he wished for the same thing, for a life where they could be together without the shadows of their past and present looming over them.Without thinking, Dust reached out, gently placing a hand on Blue’s shoulder. “I wish for that too,” he said softly. “More than you know.”Blue looked up at him, his eyes filled with an emotion that Dust couldn’t quite decipher. For a moment, it felt like the world had fallen away, leaving just the two of them in the silence of their unspoken longing.

But then the moment passed, and they returned to their work, their hearts heavy with the weight of what could never be.The days turned into weeks, and Dust and Blue continued to navigate the delicate balance of their relationship. Their bond grew stronger, but so did the tension between them. It was becoming harder to ignore the unspoken feelings that simmered beneath the surface.

One evening, as they were finishing up their tasks, Blue looked over at Dust with a troubled expression. “Dust, we need to talk.”Dust’s heart sank. Those words rarely heralded anything good. “What’s on your mind?”

Blue took a deep breath, his eyes filled with a mix of determination and fear. “I’ve been thinking a lot about us. About what we mean to each other. And I can’t keep pretending that everything’s fine.” Dust felt a surge of panic. Was this it? Was Blue about to tell him that they couldn’t be friends anymore? That his feelings were too much to handle? “I care about you, Dust. More than I probably should,” Blue continued, his voice trembling slightly. “But I’m scared. Scared of what this means, of what it could cost us.”

Dust’s heart ached at Blue’s words. He wanted to reach out, to reassure him, but he didn’t know how. “I care about you too, Blue. More than I can say. But I understand if you need to take a step back. I don’t want to make things harder for you.”Blue shook his head, his expression resolute. “That’s the thing. I don’t want to step back. I want to move forward. But I’m afraid of what will happen if we do.”

Dust felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, they could find a way to navigate this together. “We’ll figure it out,” he said quietly. “We always do.” Blue smiled, a tentative, hopeful smile that made Dust’s heart swell. “Yeah. We will.” It wasn’t a perfect solution, but it was a start. And for the first time in a long while, Dust felt a sense of hope.

As Dust and Blue continued to navigate their complex relationship, the pressure began to mount. Their feelings for each other were no longer a secret, at least not to themselves. But the unspoken tension between them was starting to take its toll. One night, after a particularly grueling mission, Dust found himself alone in the training room, venting his frustrations on a punching bag. The physical exertion helped to clear his mind, but it did little to ease the turmoil in his heart.

He was so absorbed in his thoughts that he didn’t hear Blue enter the room until he spoke. “Dust,” blues voice sounded like it held a sense of urgency, hidden under the usual optomisitc vibe that his voice held. Dust turned, his breath coming in ragged gasps. “What is it?”

Blue’s expression was serious, his eyes filled with a mix of determination and fear. “I can’t keep doing this. Pretending that everything’s fine when it’s not.”Dust felt a surge of panic. “What do you mean?”

Blue took a deep breath, his voice steady but filled with emotion. “I’m in love with you, Dust.” Dust’s heart stopped. The words he had longed to hear were finally spoken, but they came with a heavy price. “Blue, I…” Dust felt a lump form in his throat. He wanted to reach out, to hold Blue and tell him that everything would be okay. But he knew that words wouldn’t be enough. “What do you want to do?” he asked quietly.

Blue’s eyes softened, and he took a step closer. “I want us to be honest with each other. No more hiding. No more pretending. We’ll figure out the rest as we go.” Dust nodded, his heart pounding. “Okay. No more hiding.”It was a small step, but it felt monumental. For the first time, they were facing their feelings head-on, no longer hiding behind masks of indifference.

With their feelings out in the open, Dust and Blue began to navigate the complexities of their relationship with a newfound honesty. It wasn’t easy, and there were moments of doubt and fear, but they were committed to making it work.Their bond grew stronger with each passing day, their connection deepening as they shared more of themselves with each other. The walls they had built around their souls began to crumble, replaced by a foundation of trust and understanding.

One evening, as they were sitting together in. Blue’s bedroom, Blue turned to Dust with a soft smile. “I’m glad we did this,” he said quietly. “I’m glad we’re finally being honest with each other.” The soft feel of the fluffy blanket soothed Dust’s and blue's mind. It was rare to have an off day, especially with all of the missions that are assigned to them on a daily basis.

Dust nodded, his soul swelling with affection. “Me too. It’s been a long time coming.” Blue leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper. “I love you, Dust. More than I ever thought possible.” Dust’s breath caught in his throat. He had known, of course, but hearing the words spoken aloud was a different kind of magic. “I love you too, Blue. Always have.”

In that moment, the world seemed to fall away, leaving just the two of them in the quiet embrace of their shared love. If they payed attention, they could probably feel how badly thier souls wanted to leave thier bodies in order in interwind with each other. It was a beginning, a promise of what was to come, and for the first time in a long while, Dust felt a sense of peace.

With their relationship now out in the open, Dust and Blue faced a new set of challenges. Navigating their feelings while maintaining their professional responsibilities was a delicate balance, but they were determined to make it work. They continued to work together under Nightmare’s command, their bond becoming an unspoken source of strength. Their late-night conversations and shared moments of intimacy became a cherished routine, a sanctuary from the chaos of their world.

But even as they grew closer, there were moments of doubt and fear. The shadows of their pasts loomed large, and the fear of what the future might hold was never far from their minds.

As they were sitting together in the quiet of their shared space, Blue turned to Dust with a thoughtful expression. “Do you ever wonder what the future holds for us?” he asked softly. Dust nodded, his gaze distant. “All the time. But whatever it is, we’ll face it together.”Blue smiled, a warm, reassuring smile that made Dust’s heart swell. “Together,” he echoed. It was a promise, a vow that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them as one.

The night was quiet, the air filled with a sense of tranquility that was rare in their line of work. Dust and Blue found themselves alone in their shared space, the tension of the day melting away in the comfort of each other’s presence. The mission they endured earlier that day weighed on them but simply slipped away as they got comfortable. They sat close, their shoulders brushing, a comfortable silence enveloping them. Dust felt a warmth spread through his chest, a sense of contentment that he had rarely known.

Blue turned to him, his eyes filled with a mix of affection and longing. “Dust,” he whispered, his voice trembling slightly. “I want to be with you. Completely.”Dust’s soul skipped a beat. The words were simple, but they carried a weight that was impossible to ignore. “I want that too,” he replied, his voice equally soft. They moved closer, their breaths mingling in the quiet of the night. Blue’s hand found Dust’s, their fingers intertwining in a silent promise of what was to come. Dust could feel the heat between them, an electric anticipation that sent shivers down his spine.

Slowly, tenderly, Blue leaned in and pressed his lips to Dust’s. The kiss was soft at first, a gentle exploration that spoke of their mutual longing. But as the moments passed, it deepened, growing more passionate, more urgent. Dust’s hands roamed over Blue’s body, savoring the feel of his warmth. He wanted to memorize every inch of him, to know him in a way that went beyond words.

Blue responded in kind, his touch filled with a desperate need. He pulled Dust closer, their bodies pressing together as if trying to become one. It was a dance of desire, a silent conversation that spoke of their love and their longing.

Without breaking their kiss, Dust began to explore further, his hands slipping beneath Blue’s shirt. He could feel the rapid beat of Blue’s soul behind his white bones, a mirror of his own. Slowly, he pulled the fabric away, revealing the smooth, bare bones beneath. The were littered with small cracks and scars but that didn't deter dust away by any means. It drew him even closer as a matter of fact.

Blue shivered at the touch, his breath hitching. Dust could see the desire in his eyes, the unspoken plea for more. He trailed kisses down Blue’s neck, savoring the taste of him, the way he responded to every touch. As he moved lower, Dust’s hands found the waistband of Blue’s pants. He hesitated for a moment, looking up to meet Blue’s gaze. The trust he saw there, the unspoken permission, gave him the courage to continue.

He removed Blue’s pants with a slow, deliberate motion, revealing the body he had longed to see. Blue lay before him, vulnerable and beautiful, a vision that took Dust’s breath away. His ecto formed and ready for his lover, blue in color and soft.

Dust moved lower, his kisses trailing down Blue’s ribs to his formed body. He could feel the tension in Blue’s body, the anticipation that made his own desire burn even hotter. Reaching even lower, tracing the skeletons body wirh his tongue. Following further and further downward, he paused, looking up once more to meet Blue’s gaze. Blue’s eyes were filled with a mix of love and desire, a silent plea for Dust to continue. With a tender smile, Dust lowered his head, his lips and tongue beginning their gentle exploration.

Blue gasped at the first touch, his body arching in response. Dust took his time, savoring every moment, every sound of pleasure that escaped Blue’s mouth. He wanted to make this night unforgettable, to show Blue just how much he loved him. His tongue lapped at the magic formed clit between blue's folds. He licked as if he was enjoying an ice cream and in his case, he was. Dust’s movements were slow and deliberate, his tongue and lips working in harmony to bring Blue to the height of pleasure. Dust brought his tongue to Bruce's pleading entrance, eliciting a soft keen. He could feel the tension building in Blue’s body, the way his pseudo muscles tightened and his breath quickened.

Blue’s hands found Dust’s head, his fingers tangling on his skull as he guided him closer. The sounds of his pleasure filled the room, a symphony of desire that spurred Dust on. He wanted to give Blue everything, to take him to the edge and beyond. Blue’s pussy became sensitive by the second, an acting feeling burning in his core. His clothes twitched as dust ate him out like a meal right there on his bed.

As the moments passed, Dust could feel Blue’s body trembling, the waves of pleasure building to a crescendo. He redoubled his efforts, his own desire growing with every gasp, every moan. His tounge worked its wonders. Lapping, licking, lurching, and stroking his tongue in and out of blue's body. Finally, with a cry of ecstasy, Blue reached his climax, his body shaking with the force of his release. Dust stayed with him, his movements gentle as he helped Blue ride out the waves of pleasure. He stuck to gently cleaning the mess he caused between his lovers thighs before detaching himself.

Blue collapsed back onto the bed, his body spent and sated. Dust moved up to lie beside him on the soft and fluffy duvet, pulling him into his arms. They lay together in the quiet of the night, their souls beating in time, their bodies entwined.Blue looked up at Dust, his eyes filled with love and gratitude. “That was amazing,” he whispered, his voice filled with awe.Dust smiled, his heart swelling with affection. “You’re incredible,” he replied softly. “I love you, Blue.”

Blue’s eyes softened, and he reached up to cup Dust’s cheek. “I love you too, Dust.”

In the quiet of the night, they held each other close, their souls and bodies united in a bond that went beyond words. It was a night of intimacy, a night of love, and as they drifted off to sleep, they knew that whatever the future held, they would face it together.
