Prince Atlas is the 9th child of His Majesty, and the 4th prince of the kingdom of Razern.
The Forgotten Princes, The 2nd and 4th, were, as the name suggests, forgotten by the King and most of the public. Prince Asclepius, the 2nd prince of Razern, had a condition in which he had too much mana energy, while the 4th prince, Atlas, was said to be cursed.
Asclepius was confined to his room, being too sick to leave, Atlas often visited, not wanting to leave his brother completely alone. The King believed them both to be cursed, one sick, and the other being blamed for the Queen's death.(The Queen died while giving birth to Atlas)
Atlas often spent his time in the training ground of the palace, or out doing adventurer work, as he is not easily recognized as a prince outside of the castle.
Atlas was visiting Asclepius one day when he got a new idea to cure his brother, so he went around town searching for witches, mages, and people who want mana. When he got everything he needed, he told the witches and mages to take the mana from Asclepius and give it to the low level magic-users.
When the Magic-users were done absorbing the mana and giving it to the lower level magic users, Atlas checked up on Asclepius, who was cured, although weak, likely from the sudden reduced
Atlas made sure no one would tell anyone about this, explaining how Asclepius might be burdened with being forced to train to compete for the title of crown prince by the new queen, and they all understood, having heard rumors of her across the kingdom.
(The new queen(2nd wife of the king) is cruel, having forced the 3rd prince to compete against the 1st for the title of crown prince, when he didn't want anything to do with royalty in the first place among many other reasons.)
(The 2nd wife/The New Queen doesn't hide her cruelty from commoners and lower ranking nobles, and higher ranking nobles and royalty don't bother talking to the "lower people", so she gets away with it.)
1 month later, after some training, exercise, and preparation, Atlas and Asclepius carefully sneak away from the castle, managing to cross the borders of the capitol and get into the nearby forest to set up camp for the night. Unfortunately, the forest is filled with monsters, so they would have to hunt a few and make some traps.
After about 2 hours, they could finally rest and sleep for the night, having proved themselves as strong to the forests’ inhabitants. (Also, it's around midnight, and monsters need to sleep too!)
Early in the morning, Atlas and Asclepius got up and ready, checked all of their stuff, and started the climb of the mountains. The reason that they were climbing the mountains is to get to the other kingdom on the other side.
The mountains are said to hold a rare and legendary monster called the Yeti, a largely unknown and unseen creature, which stays in the mountains at all times. Hopefully they don’t see it.
