Chapter Text
The orange fall sunrise was far gone and now the afternoon wind rolled over the wet after stormed streets. Soggy leaves laid thick in gutters and cluttered in storm drains. The air smelt like freshly wet grass with a hint of upcoming frost. It has been raining for days now. Not lightening up for more than a few hours at a time.
Waking up late from a nap, a pair of lavender eyes weakly opened as they stared up at the dim tapestried ceiling. Dark brown wavy hair laid crazily over deep purple silk pillowcases and blankets. Propping herself up with one arm, the other rubbed the side of her neck. Clear discomfort, a grumble rumbled in her throat as she stretched. The previous night before and early morning had ruled out all her energy with some work she had to get done online.
A small sigh and a slight turn on her body as she pulled off her blankets. Moving as her feet touched the cool, white wooden floors. The blue rain night lights peppered the room is a deep blue hue as they made their dripping animation. Only the whir of the fan and occasional bustling from outside was heard. Reaching over to her bedside nightstand, she grabbed her phone. Looking at the time //4:34 PM.
"Late on the wake, again." She sighed then shielded her eyes slightly. "Lights on!" She called as her lights started to flip on, a soft white that gradually grows brighter.
Coming running in from her awakening, her Black pet Sable fumbled into her room. His collars bell chimed.
The pitter patter of small fuzzy feet scurried in and right up to hers. With a scrunch of their back they circled around their owners ankles with glee.
"Good morning, Vincent!" She tiredly smiled, scruffling their fuzzy body and picking them up as she stood. She tucked her phone away in her pajamas pocket and hugged the sable, kissing their little face and wet nose. Returned kisses and happy faces, Vincent laid in their arms. Their restlessness attitude remained dormant for a moment to embrace the coziness they felt.
As the girl slipped on some slippers, she made their way to the bedroom door and they swung it fully open. Shuffling out with a stretch of their legs they walked down hall to the L staircase. The walls were a creamy purple and black and white accents on the wooden stairwell. Pictures and knickknacks hung to decorate the potentially open spaces. Photographs of her in her much younger years with all her success and adventures only for more to come. Ones were she visited Russia for a vacation and found Vincent who got out of his kennel, saving him from being killed for his beautiful fur. Now he was part of her family, a vacation worth every penny.
She still glances at the pictures sometimes, only to squeeze him in a loving embrace.
Her eyes surveyed him, a soft look of nostalgia.
"How're we feeling? You hungry, buddy?" She cradled the fuzz baby as they trilled in agreement. A small laugh, she nodded while moving down the steps.
"Okay little man." She set him on the island counter as they walked into the kitchen and went to the fridge. Vincent moved around on the counter as he waited eagerly. Grabbing some milk, eggs and blueberries from the fridge, the tired girl placed them on the counter. Vincent sniffed the packaging excitedly as his owner grabbed a small bowl from the cupboard. Vincent shifted back and fourth eagerly as she grabbed an egg and cracked it into the bowl. She set it down in front of him. "Prayers, baby. You're all I got." She reminded him as the trained sable bowed his head then dug in, lapping up the eggs yolk.
For breakfast herself, blueberry pancakes were a must. More work than Vincent's breakfast, he was sure to help when he was finished eating.
Eating at the white and silver round table, her blueberry pancakes were more for them both as Vincent would always get his nibbles in.
Not minding, the girl continued to eat and scroll on her phone. She placed her head in her hand. "Looks like Retro's is closing down. That new owner didn't last long.." She frowned as she talked to Vincent. "They're having a huge sale on all their old games and consoles." She murmured. "I hope there's still some good stuff left." She sat up and placed her dishes in the sink. "Let's go, boy. We're heading out, get ready soon." She told him as she hurried back upstairs.
Vincent listened, scratching himself then hopping down off the table and over to the door. He hopped up and grabbed his leash hanging by the entrance. He ran around with it in his mouth, awaiting his owners descend from the stairs.
Returning back into the bedroom, the girl skimmed over it to see all was in order. Her huge desk lined up with her custom pc build and little doodads she was putting together. Little machines and repairing parts. Her room was made to support high quality vr tracking and holographic displays for gaming. She kept that work to herself, however. Still tweaking and tuning the possibilities and advancements. When she had the time it was her biggest hobby. She felt like what she was cooking up could be revolutionary to VR.
Her room was mostly white and modern but the walls remained that same purple, her bed frame black and her ceiling covered in glow in the dark stars. It was a mix of all the things she loved. Black curtains with silver stars lined her windows, underneath a rainbow privacy film plastered the glass.
She approached her curtained closet, sliding the sheer curtains aside and getting into her dresser and clothes.
Pulling out an oversized black hoodie, some jeans, black socks and undergarments, she laid them on her desk chair then headed to her hallway bathroom.
Brushing her hair and teeth, she went to take a quick shower. In this time frame however, Vincent had run upstairs and begged to follow her into the bathroom. As the shower, too. Little trouble maker.
After a little while of scrubs and rinses he was now a wet floof on the bathroom counter as his owner was drying off and blow drying the both of them.
"You're gonna be so fluffy, handsome." She laughed as his fur dry poofed and he scattered down off the counter and into her bedroom to roll around in her bed.
"You better not have wet belly!" She called, hanging up her towel and following after him into her room as she started getting dressed.
Once clothed, she grabbed her wallet. She checked to make sure she had her card and all the things necessary. "Ready, Vince?" She turned to him and held open her hoodie pocket.
Vincent's eyes widened and he wiggled his butt then hopped right into the pocket.
The girl gently patted his face as it popped out the open side then headed downstairs, placing her wallet in her back pocket with her phone in her other. She grabbed the leash Vincent had left on the stairs and clipped it to his collar then grabbed her car keys off the same holder by the door.
She doubled checked to make sure her front door was locked before going to the door leading into the garage. She slipped on her black sneakers by the doors genkan. "Alright. Let's get some games." Hopping into the car she closed the door and slid in her keys. A simple bunny and fox keychain flashed golden from with the keys. "Brr, not so cozy, right? Cold seats, yikes." She shuddered as Vincent hopped out of the pocket holding his leash in his mouth.
He sat in the seat as she put on the seat warmers, cranking the heat. "I probably should've auto started the car when I was getting dressed." She laughed sheepishly.
Vincent looked up at her, a smile plastered on his face.
Opening the garage door, she pulled the car out and the door automatically shut as they exited.
The exterior of her home was a lovely charcoal with light grey stone veneer, a mix of a mid century home with just a touch of modern. The surrounding gate was a tall modern black iron gate with a flowing design. It was excessive she admits but it came with the house.. so added bonus! Not to mention the thief proof package holder. What a dream!
The sky hurled with the leftover grey clouds, the wind dragging them off to who knows where. The suburbs wasn't bad in her area thankfully, it was mostly older people or respectful young couples. Which was nice, since not just anyone could move in.
The gate opened as she approached and as she pulled out into the road it closed.
"Buckle up, Vincent." She gently petted him and headed down into town for Retros. She wasn't exactly sure what she was going to get but she hoped for some gold. Its good to get out of the house anyway.
It didn't take long and she was parked a little ways from the soon closing store, hopping out with Vincent on her shoulder, leash in hand. The car clicked and she walked down the sidewalk and to the glass windows of Retros. "Half off, seventy five percent off, but two get one free-" she read off the window posters then headed inside. The bell chimed dully and people were bustling.
"It's only busy when everything's about gone." She commented to herself. Her eyes gazing around the green and white checkered floor, the white walls without gaming decor and ceiling tiles stained with water damage. Vincent sniffed the air, sneezing.
"Bless you, pretty baby." She said to him and as she turned she locked eyes with the new owner, she assumed.
"Everything's buy two get one free. Doesn't matter what it is, unless it's consoles. Are you looking for anything specific-" the slightly taller guy, wearing a button up shirt that clearly didn't fit him and blue jeans, asked. His goatee needed trimming for sure.
"Not sure." She answered honestly. "I'll let you know if anything comes to mind." She told him with a small smile, turning to look down the aisles.
As she walked off, Vincent stared back at the man who watched her. The man wasn't sure what kind of cat that thing was and Vincent wasn't sure how someone could look so dumb.
Looking through bins and shelves, the girl found some game boy games she used to play and ds ones. The more valuable ones like Pokémon were in a glass case though it was sparse since she was late to the sale.
Looking over some of the almost cleared shelves she found a gem of her childhood.
A GameCube racing game. Immediately she grabbed it and smiled widely with sparkled eyes. "Oo, Vincent! This game was my childhood! I mean yeah I could just play it on my emulator but-" her eyes drifted off to another bin. "It means so much to me-" she held the game, going over to the other bin of Ps2 and 3 games.
A lot of people were mostly looking at the stuff up front and occasional glances at her due to her sable but she was in her own world. She refused to leave without Vincent since he was her everything.
Pulling out a few cases of games she liked she added up in her head then took another gander around the store. Old posters bundled up in piles and some figures. Nothing really caught her eyes except what she already had. She moved to the counter, just a tad upset there wasn't much left.
"Looks like I found what I was looking for."
She gently smiled at the store owner as he leaned on the counter. "Let's see."
She put down the two ps2 games and the GameCube one. A odd bundle, all different genres.
The guy looked over them then up at her.
"She's cute, is she yours?" He asked as he pulled the games over, adding them together at the register. "Oh, he's a boy. And thank you." She shyly scratched her cheek.
"No worries, I was talking to him anyway." He replied with a smirk.
A weird trail of goosebumps went over the poor girl as she pulled out her wallet, flattered but not in the way he was wanting. "Eh heh.. cute." She stiffly replied. "What's.. the total?" She asked and held out her card. It's not that she didn't appreciate the compliment, it was more like she just wasn't interested.
He took it, clearly upset to her reaction.
Looking over her card he noticed the funny meme cover that had Kevin hart questioning the purchase and then her name. That was the interesting part.
"Coin? Oddly cute name." He commented and when he noticed her growing nerved facial expression he cleared his throat. "20 bucks. But I'll give it to you for free for your number." He offered, still trying. Sadly, she didn't find him smooth.
Vincent growled at him as Coin furrowed her brow. "Unfortunately.. this is a sale, not a miracle. Please charge my card." She told him and he huffed, leaning up and swiping her card. He held out her card and she took it back. "Me-ow." He replied, cocking an eyebrow.
Coin tsked, grabbing her games and without another word, left. The dull bell chimed once more on her way out. The guy watched her go, eyes narrowing a bit.
"Yuck, what a weirdo. Feel the vibe." Coin told Vincent as he agreed. Probably.
Walking back to her car she settled in and looked over her games. "I should've checked if they were scratched-" she practically facepalmed then opened the ps2 case and an odd sense of dread filled her. A red floppy disk fell onto her lap, startling her.
Vincent hopped down off her shoulder and sat on the center console, just as confused as her.
Coin picked it up, puzzled. "What the hell?" She questioned, looking over the floppy disk.
A silver sticker with the word //Inscryption spelled on it. Okay thank god, it wasn't some random porn or someone's family photos. Maybe?..
"Inscryption.. what is that? Another game?"
She tilted her head. "Who the hell still uses floppy disks?" She checked the orginal game in there for scratches then popped it back in, setting the floppy disk back inside.
Checking the others real quick too she then she set them in the passenger side. "Looks like I'll need an adapter if I decide to play it. If it even works!" She commented, starting up her car and leaving.
Vincent looked out the window and down at the ps2 case with the odd game inside.
He just couldn't stop looking at it.
"Awe buddy, don't worry about it. How about we do a little shopping while we're out?" She glanced over at him as she drove. "How about some sushi for later? You want some new cat trees or something?" She asked as he glanced back at her, uncertain.

Back home, Coin carried a box and bags into her home on the insides genkan. Vincent was now unleashed and running in past her as soon as she opened the door from inside the garage.
"Thank you for the help, buddy." She teased him.
Slipping off her shoes at the ledge she grabbed all the stuff again and headed into the dinning room. She set down the box with his new window hammock then their sushi dinner. She placed that in the fridge asap, but not before giving Vincent a piece of salmon. He gobbled it down with a yip afterwards, running off to get into trouble.
Returning to the dinning room, she was looking down at the games again, she reopened the ps2 case. She held the red floppy disk and observed it over. "Hmm. I gotta get that adapter." She pondered, taking them and heading back upstairs.
"Incryption.. I've never heard of that before." She flipped it around in her hand as she walked back into her room, walking right over to her comfortable desk chair and sitting down. She set the other games aside and pulled up her highly decorated keyboard. Assorted keycaps and static colors of purple, aqua, blues and reds.
Turning on her pc, it was quick to boot and she went straight to asking her web browser what this game was and about.
She put her head in her hand when she read over an article about it not being released yet. Apparently a company called 'Gamefuna' was working on it. Release date unknown. A card game it was, along those lines. Originally actually card packs.
"So either this is a dud.. of some sort of fan-made game. Prototype? Or a pre-released version." She looked over the floppy disk again, dumbfounded. "I guess I'll find out."
She opened up a tab for her favorite shopping website and purchased a highly rated adapter. Floppy disk to usb. "And now.. we wait."

Later that night had rolled around and after a sushi dinner with Vincent she washed up the dishes, played with him a little and cared after him. Then eagerly awaited her next commission, moving her legs slightly as she laid on the gothic black velvet couch.
Vincent curled up on her chest as she laid down covered in blankets. His head just barely poked up from underneath them, just his nose. Coin scrolled on her phone, glancing at the tv occasionally.
She couldn't keep the game out of her head. Was it the real deal? A mistake? Many questions.. what was the card game even like- yugioh? Magic the gathering? Uno.. heh, that would be hilarious. She smiled to herself with a small laugh in amusement.
Vincent suddenly poked out a bit more, whining at her. She gently stroked his face, eyes half lidded. "Awe baby, it'll be okay.. you worried about something?" She asked, concerned.
Vincent huffed, snuggling back under the blankets.
She laid her head back, staring up at the ceiling. "Tomorrow we'll see what's up, nothing to ruin our schedules, fuzzball."

Night has come to 2am and after a nightly routine of teeth brushing and settling down, coin fell asleep in bed. Not having a commission gave her plenty of free time and it still wore her down from the last. Designing and coding company websites with upkeep is no joke. Sometimes the stress really gets to her.
However..
This time excitement and uncertainty clouded her dreams as she was cuddled up in her bed. Vincent laid on top of her head, curled around her brown waves of hair.
The rain lights speckled her dark room of blue hues. A storm brewing outside as the minutes turned to hours. Returning rain gently tapped on the windows and shingles of her home.
Vincent's eyes slowly opened as he shook his head, a yawn. His fur suddenly started to puff and he felt a terrible feeling, slowly untangling himself from coins hair and moving along the silk sheets. His eyes reflected the blue from the room, full of adrenaline. He jumped down with a small thud, swiftly hurrying across the floor. He jumped up to her desk chair and onto her desk, the chair rolling slightly from the force.
He looked around, sniffing the keyboard as he walked along, avoiding all her little doodads and things that could make noise. His eyes locked and went right up to the floppy disk. He stared at it then tried to pry it off the desk with his teeth. He moved it, it clanking against the other games and stuff she had on her desk as he tried to grasp it.
It suddenly fell to the ground and he jumped down to follow it, startling coin. Her eyes dimly opened and she sat up. Half asleep, she saw the gleam of his eyes in the night and she sighed with a hint of relief.
"What the heck.. are you doing?" She asked with a yawn as he froze, looking up at her.
Then he managed to grab the game in his mouth and booked it. The corners of the floppy disk hitting the floor occasionally with small taps.
"H-Hey! Vince! Mr!" Coin called, quickly flipping off her sheets and following him.
"Why are you so obsessed with it!" She followed him down the stairs with loud steps. "Vincent!" She hurried into the living room, turning on the lights.
Everything was silent, him nowhere in sight.
"..." she slowly looked around, puzzled. "Vincent, seriously! I need that game-" she looked out the window at the rain. She crossed her arms nervously as she approached it. The rain was coming down with whips of the wind. Augh, more sky tears..
A sudden struck of lightning cracked and Coins eyes widened, reflection the short surge of yellow light. She jumped as she could've sworn she saw something in the flash. Something strange.. she blinked a few times, the bright light bothered her irises. It was like she just got her picture taken. It was blinding.
Her body shuddered as goosebumps covered her. She stepped back and looked around again. "Vincent, please-" she said as she raised an eyebrow, hearing quiet shuffling from the couch. The blankets from before started moving.
She sighed in relief once more, going over and moving the couch blankets. Vincent stared up at her, the floppy disk busy being buried within the blanket.
"Vince, baby-" she reached for it and he growled at her. She blinked, obviously taken aback. She stayed quiet for a moment. "..You have that bad of a feeling?" She asked and he looked at her.
She sheepishly rubbed her neck. "I think everything's okay.. it's just an odd game. But I think it's just a demo or prototype. We shouldn't be worrying. If anything this could be exciting!" She tried to reassure him. "You've never acted like this before over something so.. weird?"
He glared at her then huffed, picking up the floppy disk with his teeth and tossing it to the floor.
Coin picked it up and looked over it to make sure it was alright. A few more scratches to add to it already but it was fine. Nothing to make it non-functional. Her eyes looked back at him.
"Let's get some sleep, buddy.. it'll be okay. Watch it be a dud." She scooped him up and kissed his forehead. Leaving the living room she turned off the lights and headed back upstairs. Vincent huffed, not happy entirely.
After putting the game in her nightstand she rested back in bed, setting Vincent down beside her. She petted him reassuringly.
He got up however and jumped down, sleeping by the door this time. That worried her. What was he so worried about? GHOSTS?!
Hah.. nah.
"No more funny business." She told him while pointing at him then shifting in her blankets. "Just.. a few more hours till the truth." She mumbled and drifted back to sleep.
★~ ★~ ★~
The morning rose, the sun weakly gleamed through the misty clouds and cold humidity that laid thick in the air. Water droplets dripping off shingles and trees, dropping to their fates below to join as one.
Anxiety raced through coin as her eyes opened, hurting from the lack of sleep.
It was roughly 9am and with a usual groan, she sat up.
Vincent slept by the door, not waking up quite yet. The blue lights fluttered in her rooms dark corners and scenery.
She nervously gripped her blankets, mind racing. Today's the day, she was so curious as to what was in that floppy disk! With a sigh she removed the covers and moved her legs. She placed her feet on the ground, curling her toes on the wood as they cracked. Satisfied, she stood up and approached the sleeping sable.
She crouched down, looking over him as his body rose and flattened as he breathed.
"Sweet dreams, baby.." she just barely touched the fur tips on the top on his head before leaning back up.
She stepped back and went over to her window, moving the black curtains aside. Her eyes winced at the sudden dilation to her pupils. Peeking out a corner of where the privacy film was peeling, she looked over to her mailbox. (With that built in package protection)
It didn't indicate there was anything in there yet. She moved away from the window, thinking. She should probably get everything done before the package arrives so she can just focus on that when it gets there.
She put her head in her hand as she thought however, closing her eyes as her eyebrow furrowed in agitation. Either the game works or it doesn't. If it works then that's great, if it doesn't, she can just move on. Then Vincent can relax, too!
She nodded slightly to herself.
Yeah, that's it.
Coin suddenly jumped a little as Vincent nipped at her leg gently. "Oh shit!" She looked down at him then laughed.
Vincent yipped up at her as she reached down and picked him up. "You scared me! How'd you sleep, fuzzy?" She nuzzled him. Vincent laid in her arms limply, being dramatic.
"Oh, princess! You poor little one!" Coin teased, going over to her bedstand and grabbing her phone. She expertly unplugged it from charging with one hand and placed it in her pocket. She shuffled over to her slipper boots and stepped into them, leaning down a bit and her hand helping her heels slip in them. It was too cold for bare feet.
Carrying Vincent out the open bedroom door, she swung down and around the stairs rail and into the kitchen.
The two had another breakfast together. Vincent had muskrat soup and Coin enjoyed some matcha and a few cherry pastries.
Sitting at the table, the two exchanged crunches and slurps. Occasional nods and satisfaction between them.
Scrolling through her phone, Coins eyes skimmed over her schedule. "Looks like I'll have my next job next week. They need their website tweaked and all." She told the sable, who listened. Kinda.
"I get paid today so that's nice. Maybe I should buy something new." She pondered, licking the icing off her fingers. "I know I need a better processor for my VR hologram connection. It chugs sometimes." She continued.
After telling Vincent about her plans she put the dishes in the sink and tended to some little things she had to get done. A good way to wake up on the morning. Taking out the trash and recycling, putting away dry dishes, cleaning up after Vincent's room and letting him run outside in the backyard. She had a thinner lined fence within her original one for Vincent and his safety.
This included a fish pond with minnows for him and plenty of trees for him to climb and dirt mounds for digging. It was practically a small paradise for him. Occasionally she'd release some feeder rats out there one by one for him to catch. It was very fruitful for him.
While he was out in the wet grass and mud mounds, Coin was in an active call with a previous customer.
She leaned on the wall and watched through the sliding glass door as Vincent was getting muddy and running around.
She adjusted the phone in her hand as she talked. "Thank you so much, sir. I would love to work with you again, whenever you would like I'm free. If I am busy with another commission, within the next week I'll be right on it." She told him then listened.
"Oh.. Nono, I can absolutely do that! When would be a good time?" She walked into the living room and grabbed a pack of sticky notes from the coffee table drawer and a black inked pen. She sat on the couch as she wrote the date and what was requested onto the light blue paper.
"Two weeks from now, got it. I'll have it perfect. Same information for me as last. Half payment at the start, rest when finished." Her eyes glanced up as she heard the bell and glass scratching from the sliding door. She got up and saw Vincent covered in mud at the door. A big ole goofy smile on his face as he was soaking wet.
Her eyes widened and she almost snorted a laugh on the phone. "T-Thank you so much sir, have a great day." She hung up and busted out laughing, sliding her phone in her pocket. "Look at you!! You muddy carpet shark!" She grabbed a dish towel and opened the sliding door, wrapping him up and pulling him in.
Closing the door she sighed happily, heading back upstairs. "Alright, shower time. You and me both." She nodded, trying not to drip the water from him onto the floor.
★~ ★~ ★~
Wet, bubbly and basking in the hot water, the two sat in the showers white stone bench. The water spraying them. "This is so nice. I'm so glad I upgraded the water heater. I didn't like the one we had before it." She leaned back, grooving a bit to the music that played on her phone. She smiled down at him as she started to sing along to it.
Vincent's ears perked up and he listened as he watched her. A good song she enjoyed was //Feminine Feelings by Chrissy.
A soft, emotional queue. She stood up as she hummed it softly, making sure all the bubbles were off herself and Vincent before turning off the water. The timed fan did a good job with the steam but as she opened the glass door, the fog poured out. Vincent shook off then hopped down and out. He rubbed himself down on the towel on the floor, huffing.
Grabbing a large towel, Coin dried off and wrapped the wet noodle in one as well.
After not being completely soaked the two enjoyed the blow dryer to fluff'en up.
As the songs paused, her phone pinged and she read the notification of a delivery. "Oh! It's here!" She hurried and the two fled out of the bathroom and into her dimly lit bedroom. Coin got dressed in some comfortable black pants that had small embroidery white bunnies running on the sides and a black and white striped sweater.
Stepping into some black crew socks, she brushed her hair and hurried downstairs.
Vincent followed, the bell on his collar chimed.
Coin went through the living room to the front door and at the genkan she put on her black shoes. Vincent watched from the ledge, knowing after the shower she wouldn't let him back outside for now.
Heading outside Coin walked to her package holder by the front of her gate. She walked on the grey and black brick path that followed beside to her driveway, avoiding the wet grass.
The grass shimmered, rain still apparent on the dim green shaded straws. The air smelled wonderful and fresh. A fine few feet of fall mist flowed up from the sidewalks and roads.
As she approached the metal package holder she opened it and took out the brown logo'ed box. It clicked as it shut, Coin turning back to her home. Trying to pry open the box as she walked she managed to open it. Pulling out the smaller white box with the converter in it she tucked it between her arm. Breaking out the bottom of bigger box, she tossed it in the recycling as she walked back inside.
With the click of the door shutting, Vincent stood on his hind legs as he watched her curiously.
Taking off her shoes, Coin picked up Vincent and placed him on her shoulders then headed upstairs while pulling out the converter out of its smaller box. It seemed simple enough, a dim silver shine to it and a black usb cable.
She gently scratched under Vincent's chin as she made it to her room. Walking in she leaned down as he jumped onto her desk chair. Tossing the box aside she went to her night stand and pulled open the drawer.
Vincent hopped up on the desk and sat there patiently as his black eyes watched her.
Coin pulled out the red floppy disk and shut the drawer, walking back over to her desk and sitting in the chair.
Booting up her pc she plugged in the converter, the wheels on the desk chair rolling as she moved around. Typing in her login information and making sure everything was set up, she looked at Vincent with a sheepish smile. "Moment of truth." She gently placed the floppy disk inside the reader.
The processing circle on the pc shined, indicating it was reading it.
Coins eyes twinkled in anticipation as it continued to read, the circuits buzzing inside the reader.
After a few minutes she looked worried however, both her and Vincent glancing at one another. No window had popped up quite yet. The anticipation fleeting.
"Awe man.." She frowned, tapping her fingers on the desk. "Maybe I'll try dusting it off-" she went to eject it when an odd text box appeared on her screen, blinking slowly and dimly. The box was red, expecting it to say something like //An error has occurred. She received a //Run through Virtual Dock?
With a tilt to her head, Coin made a face of confusion and a bit of agitation. She spun in her chair slightly, noticing her VR headset was blinking green, processing the information and willing to run it. Moving back to face her screen she raised an eyebrow. "You're telling me.. this game is virtual? No way." She scoffed and Vincent sneezed. "That's what I'm saying!" She agreed with him.
She moved her mouse as it hovered over the //Confirm. With a subtle click, she pressed it and her screen went black.
Her face paled slightly as it seemed to glitch her screen. "Uhm.. hello? Oh fuck, is this malware?!" She sat up in her chair, biting her finger. Before the thought of powering down her pc she rolled over to her Vr headset quickly. Picking it up, she moved her hair out of the way and placed it on just to see if the game was running at the very least.
"W-Woah.." Coins mouth dropped as she grabbed her controllers with quick movements. Vincent was quick to whine at her, biting her pant sleeve and tugging as hard as he could. He yipped and trilled in panic. He jumped up on her lap before fleeting.
Coins eyes gazed into the virtual glass, almost hypnotized. Something about the swirling black and blue drew her mind into a fog. "I gotta hook up my other wires.." she mumbled.
