Charlie had Nick and Tori had Michael and for Valentine’s day Olly had no one. Charlie said it was because he was too little but he wanted to plan something too.
He didn’t fully understand valentine’s day but he did know that his siblings got their favourite people a card and Tori and Charlie were his favourite people, he didn’t have the money to get them cards but he did have card in his bedroom and felt tip pens that were reserved for very special occasions, this felt like a very special occasion.
He lay on his bedroom floor drawing and writing and trying really hard to make it as neat as he physically could. He wanted it to be perfect.
On the day he saw his siblings giving their cards out, Olly did the same. He pulled Tori and Charlie into his bedroom and gave them their cards.
As Tori opened it she gave him a smile and pulled him into a hug.
“I love you so much Olly.” She said into his hair as she hugged him, a moment just between the two of them.
Olly watched in anticipation as Charlie then opened his. He saw a smile cover Charlie’s face that is only reserved for him and Tori.
Charlie scooped Olly up into a hug.
“I love you Olls, you’re the best little brother someone could have.”
When Jane told him that night that he had to go to bed, he went beaming knowing that his siblings loved him as much as he loved them.
Olly had never regretted going away for uni more than he did right now. He’d just broken up with his boyfriend and with Valentine’s day approaching quicker then he wished it would, his heart felt heavy.
He looked over to his noticeboard that now looked very empty since he ripped down the pictures of him and Leo and saw the picture that Charlie took that Valentines day when Oliver was just eight and gave Charlie and Tori the first of what would become yearly valentines cards. The picture got a little damaged in his anger but it wasn’t on the verge of crumbling which is what mattered to Olly the most.
That’s when the idea hit, he pulled out his ipad and started drawing. When he was finished he had a new version of those first cards except a lot more detailed and showcasing of his current drawing ability. He looked at them when he finished and was satisfied with what he produced. He saved the pictures and kept them stashed away until Valentine’s day.
He knew the thing to make him feel better would be his siblings so he swiped across to their groupchat.
