Chapter 1: Prologue- An Unfortunate Event

Chapter Text

Yuu dodges out of the way, a large shockwave emanating from the god of time. The blue wave makes them briefly think of Lady Lilligant’s own frenzy. Each attack seems to form like each Noble Pokémon’s golden rage. They reach down, grabbing an olden Pokéball. Their beloved Undine raring to launch into battle. Yuu rears back their arm, then flings the ball with accuracy.

The ball hits true, the Vaporeon roars, the scarred frills on his body flaring up in anger and the thrill of battle. “Undine! Use Icy Wind!” Yuu commanded. The Pokémon obliged his trainer, sending out a powerful barrage of freezing winds. The move slammed into the god, knocking it to its knees. They used this slight window to begin throwing the balms at one part of Almighty Sinnoh.

The balms landed, every last one of them. The god of space burst out of its own Pokéball, taking the chance to battle and defeat its counterpart. The struggle decimated the surrounding temple, breaking the grand columns into disgraced rubble, and sending chunks into the rips in space time. In the end the great god of space roared its victory from a place atop the still living body of the defeated. Undine trilled his joyous roar, accompanied by the many voices of the Noble Pokémon. Yuu glanced down at the ball in their hand, they knew what they had to do.

A great throw, and the beast of time disappeared with a chink. The world seemed to rejoice, the threat was gone, neutralized by their savior from a far gone time. A savior who would die without a name in history. A savior who would change the world of Hisui. A savior who would die without saying goodbye to their family, without seeing their closest friends.

Yuu returned Undine in a flash of red. Gently murmuring praises and promises

The only ones that have been with the savior was a ferocious Pangoro, one from a future region called Kalos; she had battled a calamity, a bane of Galar, the harbinger of The Darkest Day. That event would happen soon, and be brought down by Yuu's beloved Ferrum and its sibling. The sword would help two brothers with the task. And a small, swift Zoroark. Titled Trickster for the pranks she did as a Zorua.

Though, only in the dead of night could Yuu let out the pair. They haven't been seen before, Trickster would send panic into the village. Panda could as well, she was too large and from afar. So only far far away and in the night could they play and interact.

The people behind the savior yelled and cheered at the sight. The leaders with their men behind Yuu whooped out loudly. Yuu had seen this all before, the same scenes again and again. Over and over the ones who remember watch the events. Only the Pokémon and the savior remember.

Yuu had treated each one with special care, a mighty Luxray who grew from a tiny Shinx had followed them. But after a few loops, she got tired, and conveyed that. Then a Pichu had been caught, she had battled and battled, a thrill she could experience without much ire as she knew she would be healed. A Richu came out of that every time. Though in the end, she knew what was coming, and feared for her life. So she was put away, safely in the village.

Rowlet was an adamant little thing. He refused to give up, even after being shot down again and again. Kris bounced back up, a fierce determined fire burned through the little owl. He grew and grew, to a Decidueye, one that faced death with naught but spite and a wish.

Their first one caught after Rowlet was a little Eevee. Undine had grown to be a tank, one that could withstand the hits of a full powered god. The Vaporeon knew that he could take the hits, and so he protected the rest. The now experienced Pokémon raised the rest with calm and gentle paws.

Next was another Eevee, caught in the barren snow. Delige saw his trainer on their first foray into the tundra. He was old, his own leg taken from him when he faced a too powerful opponent. Delige took that in stride, nothing can stop him. His previous temper had simmered down, making his own self mild and patient. But not so much that he would tolerate the messing with him by another member.

A spirit fox was enraged by the fighting of Almighty Sinnoh, a glowing red anger emanated from the poor thing. So, when Yuu traveled into the lake cave it prowled, it struck. Barely contained by a furious Undine, Yuu caught it. Taming the beast and making it their own. Later then, the trainer realized that it was the one who the tailor based their beloved mask off of. The baneful fox. Yuu remembered a word from their world, one that meant guilt or harm. So, they titled the baneful fox Nocentes, which the Pokémon carries with pride.

A red aura bear is next. The alpha was taking care of the little Teddursa surrounding him. The gentleness that he exhibited reached out to that of Yuu. The one who had seen and interacted with the Pokémon many loops over. So when Yuu reached out for help that last time, Mor’du was glad to help. Lending his strength to the team and ultimately winning. Even as he got the fangs exposed in a vicious attack.

Last was a dragon. One that was a squat little red aura, but still took a large bite out of Undine. The ferocious Gible was hard to train, as are all dragons. The alpha Goodra Yuu previously caught helped calm the firecracker. The bronze shelled Pokémon blocked all bursts of flame and anger, then finally Yuu got through. Now he fights with a fervor worthy of a Garchomp. The large, scarred Pokémon works with Undine, taking hits for his team. Fáfnir was a great dragon in the mythos from Yuu's world; so they had given the beast the name he earned.

Many Pokémon had come and go, some were willing to help until the great battle. Such as the off coloured Goodra. She had helped with raising Fáfnir, as she was used to mischievous and skittish Goomy. But, she only helped with the battles leading up. Cassius knew that something would happen in this loop. So she gathered up the children, and made Yuu catch all of them to keep safe. Including her mate, Tecciztecatl. (Yuu had thought Cassius was male, so when they caught Tecciztecatl, they just thought the two were gay. Turns out, nope, happily mated male and female Goodra.)

Many others did this, gathered up their loved ones and begged Yuu to catch them. The Wrydeer that helped calm alphas (even as an alpha itself) used their powers to store them safely. Now instead of a Noble, it serves as the ride Pokémon. A Braviary flies alongside instead of the Noble one. The Sneazler (who was titled Wednesday) that was caught as a Sneazle and who went through so much, now carries a basket on her back. But Fáfnir has to carry Yuu through water. Yuu hadn't caught much large, experienced water Pokémon; and so, Undine taught the dragon.

Now the battle has ended, the two Almighty Sinnoh Pokémon are caught and defeated. Though this was not the end, the Pokémon knew. Even in a Pokéball they all felt it. They quivered, dead silent. Yuu knew something was wrong, so they called back the remaining god. A soul shattering shriek sounded from the ripped space time, the cheers went silent. And the world froze.

Another caterwaul ripped the gashes. Yuu saw nothing but blank, matte darkness in the rips. The storm above Hisui may have stopped, the green and red sky may have turned back to blue. But that was not the end. Yuu ordered the people behind to go, run and save the people. Yuu themselves ran and launched themselves off the edge. Braviary appeared in a flash of blue light, catching the savior and flying off.

Yuu guided the bird towards the Moon View arena, dropping down and startling both Warden Ingo and Warden Melli. They warn the two to go take shelter with Lord Electrode. Melli nearly protests, but Yuu pushed the two alongside Braviary.

Then with the two safe, Yuu grabs onto Braviary once again. A great big gust of wind lifts both of them up. Then the two speed towards the Temple of Sinnoh. The wind whipping the duo in the face.

Yuu checked on the things in their pack. Preparing for the worst and for the outcomes that could happen. Then, the rips come into view. It grew, the oily blackness spreading ever so further. That sent shivers down their back, it seemed to soak up all the light in the area.

At the last moments before, Yuu clutched the modern Pokéball in their hand. Panda at the ready. Then, as a final decision; both the savior and Pokémon drop into the dark velvet abyss.
