“What?! Do Neuvillette and I have feelings for each other?! Ha! Hahahahaha! Traveler, my dear ally, there is no possible way that could be true! I don’t ‘stare longingly after Neuvillette like you so boldly claim! I just- I just look at him when he happens to be present, that’s all! And I certainly can stop mentioning him whenever I speak! I’ve only brought him up so often before because- because of our long companionship together! PLATONIC companionship!”
Lumine blinked at Furina in mild concern for how red her face had become and how closely she looked to passing out. If Furina’s Salon Solitaire were capable of glaring at Lumine, that’s what they were doing as they suddenly popped into existence and gently lead their visibly weaving summoner to the nearest couch so she could safely slump down and bury her face in one of its cushions.

Upon being questioned on the matter, Neuvillette looked up from his desk with a frown.
“I have been trying to court Furina for the better part of the past four hundred years. She has so far been completely oblivious to all of my efforts.” He said mournfully. Then he paused, looking at Lumine with a dawning hope. “Being a woman yourself, and a human one at that, do you have some advice for where I’m going wrong?”
Well, that sounded like a landmine that Lumine did not want to walk through. Without another word she turned and silently left the office. It was a little rude of her, but well- it wasn’t the first time she’d ever done such a thing, and if there was ever a time to do so, it definitely was now.
She was incredibly glad that Paimon was too busy reading the latest detective novel to be with her for once. With Lumine’s luck, Paimon would have insisted on helping the two of them get together, and that was one mission Lumine was happy to avoid. She was sure they would figure it out eventually on their own.
(After a sleepless night, she drags Paimon back to Neuvillette’s office with her the next day and they begin the long chain of events required to make the two work things out.)
