it was hard to look away. no, it would be a sin. for izuku’s case, it’s been like that for 12 years, really.
katsuki was a crashing meteorite, rushing and not giving you a chance to run. it was blinding, and so painstakingly beautiful – and around its finger, izuku was desperately wrapped around. so when he looks back at the floating building which was his academy in ruins on the middle of battle, and spots a familiar figure standing at its edge, proud, wounded yet stubborn – he feels more breathless than before.
a pair of striking red eyes search hastily around the skies, until he meets emerald. they gradually soften, a gentle glint in them as he recognizes the gaze that’s been focused on him for the entirety of his life. following him, admiring him like he was a string of stars personified.
when katsuki takes the leap off of the concrete, izuku reaches out.
and it would just be one of the thousands of times they would do so for each other.
