Work Text:

Katsuki clicked his phone shut, sighing as he let himself plop down on the roof he had planned to meet Eijiro on. Patrol today was rough, and now it was almost the next morning, bright moonlight spilling over every corner. Even though they were Pro Heros now, on the brink of branching out from their sidekick gigs, it didn’t make patrol any easier. Especially since today kicked his ass and he had so many scrapes on his skin that they stung with every other movement. Though, he's used to the pain. He invites it. What’s a hero without a little wear and tear? He only minded the drying blood on his face a little bit. He can’t wait to take a fucking shower.

He could go back to his apartment, of course, but he and Eijiro always walked home with each other. No matter the patrol, no matter the time. Eijiro would even sometimes come meet him when he had his days off. It was their way to stay connected to each other in the chaos of it all. To make sure they were still best friends despite growing up and being older. It kept him sane.

And even though seeing Eijiro every day with his ever growing hair and his ever growing strength made him want to kiss him all the more. It made his heart ache in a way that was growing worse. But, if he could have Eijiro like this, as his best friend and nothing less? He’d take it. He’d take anything if it meant being close to Eijiro.

Though, the night was proving to be long, since it had been twenty minutes since Eijiro said he was on his way and he hadn’t shown up yet. So, Katsuki sighed another heavy sigh and let his head fall back, closing his eyes and letting the starlight fall behind his eyelids, laying his head on the concrete of the roof. It might be dangerous to possibly fall asleep here at almost 2 in the morning. But he knew Eijiro would come. He always does.

Katuski let himself relax, the sleep and exhaustion falling over his mind, and let the sounds of the city and the ache in his limbs fade to the background.

“Katsuki? Hey man, you fell asleep.” Eijiro’s voice snapped him out of his slumber, his best friend looking down at him with eyes of concern. Katsuki’s heart immediately skipped a beat. Because, how the hell does Eijiro look that…pretty after patrol. Cuts on his face, some dried blood under his nose, his long hair a radiant curtain over them both. He couldn’t help but want to kiss that crinkle in his brow, right above his eyes that were brighter than the starlight.

“Fuck, sorry. I’m exhausted.”

Eijiro smiled his pretty smile, “Ah, it's alright man. Hard day at Jeanist’s?”

Katsuki yawned, sitting up and inviting Eijiro to sit with him.

Eijiro got in front of him, so close their knees were touching, and Katsuki felt lightning.

But then, Eijiro patted his legs, motioning for him to rest his head on them and Katsuki rolled his eyes. Even though knew his heart was somewhere in the sky now. He was glad it was dark, ‘cause surely his bright red cheeks would give him away.

He let his eyes close once more as he settled on Eijiro’s lap, fingers immediately running through his sweaty hair.

“How was your day?”

“T’was fine,” He mumbled, the casual affection feeling nice and comforting. “Yours?”

“My day was okay, too. A villain got in my way before I got here, so, sorry for being late.”

“It’s okay,” He assured. “You alright?”

“Yeah, just a little sore.”

Katsuki felt a finger run over his eyebrows, his eyelashes, Eijiro placing the lightest touch over his eyes.

“You have some cuts on your face,” Eijiro whispered.

“Hmm.” He hummed, almost letting out a chuckle of the tickle of Eijiro’s skin brushing over his. He knows he must be half asleep, because he felt the warmth of lips on his forehead, right above his eyelid.

“We should go home to take care of those.” Eijiro said.

“Yours or mine today?” He opened his eyes for just a second, seeing Eijiro over him, eyes sparkling and smile shining. He was always so beautiful.

“Mine, yeah?”

Katsuki smiled, “Alright, yours. You better make me breakfast.” He said while closing his eyes again.

Eijiro went back to the task of tracing over his face, the smallest, softest brush of lips following his fingers. A touch on his nose. Then a kiss. A touch on his cheek. A kiss. His chin. A kiss. His lips.

“Katsuki, can I?”

He nodded, letting his head be led to Eijiro, their lips pressing together softly, sleepily, perfectly. He can't believe they've never done this before, but now Katsuki doesn't want to stop.

But, they have to. Considering it's almost early morning and they were stories above the ground and he really was fucking exhausted.

“Come on, Ei. Let's go home.”

Eijiro smiled, kissing him again, “Yeah.”
