Welcome Foolish Mortals

Summary:

Helena Davis was an orphan trying to make the best of things until she learned of an inheritance left to her in a distant relative's will that left her in charge of a mansion that looked an awfully like the various versions of The Haunted Mansion, her favorite ride at the Disney Parks. She had no idea that within the Mansion lay all 999 Happy Haunts from the famous attraction. She learned that her parents were from another realm entirely and that she had magic, powerful magic at that. She learned about the true stories of the villains she had grown up knowing from the Disney movies while learning that all the songs she memorized from said movies had powerful magic woven in them. When she was summoned to NRA and learned there was no way back to Earth, she despaired thinking she would have to leave her ancestral home behind forever. Little did she know, The Mansion wouldn't let her go so easily. Watch as Helena and her family of 999 Happy Haunts take Night Raven College by storm. There's No Turning Back Now.

Notes:

Ah Welcome Foolish Readers... to a new fanfiction that wouldn't leave my brain. Now as you can guess from the tags this is going to be a big crossover. First off, the Great 7 and the other villains in the tags are going to be hanging around The Mansion as ghosts to help Helena understand her place in their world. Second, the Evil Queen is actually Regina in this world and to avoid confusion the Queen of Hearts is not Cora. The title of the Queen of Hearts has been passed down over time and Cora was just another holder of said title. Helena is going to be quite powerful when everything happens. She is also the inheritor to the Villains' Familiars/Animal Sidekicks if they have one. Now then, I don't any of the works listed above they belong to Disney. Now on with the show!

Chapter I: A Grim Grinning Reception

When Helena Davis woke up she wasn't expecting it to be inside a coffin. Granted she lived inside a mansion home to 999 spirits, but she never woke up in a coffin before so her reaction was warranted.

      "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

30 seconds later Helena calmed down enough to think clearly, she remembered after heading out to enjoy the beautiful summer day they were having, her walk was interrupted by a horse drawn black hearse. Thinking that one of the residents was taking a ride or keeping an eye on her, she thought nothing of it until she blacked out and woke up in this coffin. Pausing she heard the scrabbling of claws on stone and a squeaky voice saying,

"Damn! People are coming! I better hurry and find that uniform before someone spots me…” Blinking in surprise at this, she was taken by aback when the lid to her coffin opened and she came face to face with what looked to be a bipedal cat with blue fire coming out of his ears and his tail was a pitchfork. The cat was taken aback by her being awake, but regained his bearings saying,

"Stupid human! Give me your uniform!" Helena just blinked at the sight before before saying, "Wha-? No way in Hades am I going to take off my clothes, you overgrown tanuki!" The tanuki...? bristled at that retorting,

"I'm no tanuki, I'm the Great Lord Grim, bow before my might puny human!!" She just raised an eyebrow before saying, "Yeah no." Angered at this Grim...? started throwing fire everywhere in an attempt to make sure she parted with the uniform. Rolling her eyes she began to chant,

Spirits all from near and far,

Trap this Pest in a pickle jar.

With a wail and moan the tanuki was trapped inside a magically enforced pickle jar, as if those things weren't hard enough to open already. Grim howled to be let out of there and attempted to break his way out, but ultimately failed to get out. She looked down at herself and started at the sight. She wasn't wearing the clothes she was wearing a few hours ago, instead she was wearing purple and black robes with gold embroidery.  A cough sounded from behind startling her. Spinning around magic crackling in her hand she was faced with a rather strange man. He had a crows mask and a top hat that reached to the sky, not that she had anything against top hats since she wore one on a daily basis.

“My goodness,” he sighs “It’s unprecedented for a new student to leave the gate on their own. Ugh, how impatient can you be?” Helena was frankly baffled at how he seemed to be laying all of the blame on her shoulders

      “Sir, I-”

“Not only that,” he cuts her off as he crosses his arms, continuing to scold her. “You have yet to tame your familiar, which has broken several rules!”

      “Excuse me, he’s not my-”

“Let me out!” Grim wailed from inside the jar. “I’m not their freaking familiar!”

"But enough about that. We need to get to the entrance ceremony to get you sorted."

"Sorted? What do you mean? Who are you? Where am I?"

He tilted his head at her, “Hm? Have you not fully regained consciousness? The timespace teleportation must have addled your memories…Well in any case to refresh your memory you're at Night Raven Academy the finest school for mages here on Twisted Wonderland! And I am Dire Crowley the headmage here." Helena paused at this proclamation. Somehow, she ended up at NRA one of the most prestigious magic schools in Twisted Wonderland founded by her aunts and uncles. Not only that, but she ended up in Twisted Wonderland her true home, the home she and her parents were taken from in a freak magical accident when she was just a babe. She had lost her parents when she was 10 years old, not remembering anything of Twisted Wonderland but having fond memories of an animation company called Disney, which also extended to their theme parks. She was a massive fan of The Haunted Mansion feeling some sort of connection to the attraction and its spooky atmosphere. When she was 14 she was shocked to find out she was left a mansion in a distant relative's will. The most shocking thing was she had no relatives on Earth, so she had no idea who left her the mansion.

Shaking her head she brought herself back to the present she hurried after the headmaster as he made his way to the sorting room, while carrying the jar Grim was in. For some reason, she felt attached to the little troublemaker.  As they neared she heard some whispers about the whereabouts of the headmaster and if he had a tummy ache.

"I DO NOT!!!" Bursting into another chamber as dramatically as possible. Oh great, Helena thought, Another Drama Queen.

"I was merely fetching our wayward student here am I not so generous. Now step to the Dark Mirror and we'll get you sorted." Helena rolled her eyes at the man and thrust the jar into Crowley's hands before proceeding to make her way up to the mirror. A great mask like face appeared in the mirror in a shroud of flames. This was her Aunt Regina's magic mirror, Walt and she was ready to be sorted.

      "State thy name."

      "Helena Davis."

The Mirror's eyes widened at the name and began to smile and laugh. The others were surprised at this for the Mirror never showed emotion and were immediately set on edge. If the mirror had hands they would be rubbing together in a very villainous manner at the moment.

"Ohohohoho!!! This is going to be fun! Thy soul is a powerful one an amalgamation of all dorms present here. Strict and orderly, daring and ambitious, compassionate and shrewd, resourceful and adaptive, creative and beautiful, innovative and analytic, dignified and accomplished. You have the traits that would make the 7 proud, however you know that there weren't just 7 founders don't you?" At the mirror's question Helena nodded her head but all the others were confused what others were there? The mirror continued, "There were in fact 8 founders of Night Raven College. You know of The Queen of Hearts, The King of Beasts, The Sea Witch, The Sorcerer of the Sands, The Beautiful Queen, The Lord of the Underworld, and The Witch of Thorns, but who you don't know is the founder of the forgotten and abandoned dorm you have taken to call Ramshackle, but that is not its true name.  The founder's origin is shrouded in mystery and the original dorm has since been lost but we honored his attributes in a dorm that has since been abandoned for no students in decades have shown any hint of hospitality the kind where you always have room for one more. Therefore it is with great pleasure that I place you my dear girl in Mortem Manor, the dorm founded by The Hatbox Ghost." The mirror's face was shrouded in fog to reveal a silhouette of a tall figure wearing a tophat, a cloak covering most of his body that had a high pointed collar, his left hand carrying a cane while his other hand carried a hatbox.  The silhouette was then replaced by the emblem for her dorm. It was a large oval plaque that a grotesque face at the top. Lining the oval were serpents slithering down the sides meeting at the bottom covered by a skull and crossbones. Coming out of the sides of the skull was a ribbon. On the left side it read, 'Memento' and on the right side of the skull it read, 'Mori'. In the center of the plaque engraved in a gothic type font were two Ms one over the other. Lightning flashed in the mirror illuminating the plaque while a wolf howled in the distance.

Then something peculiar began to happen, a golden thread of magic emerged from her body before snaking its way over to Grim. Everyone watched astounded as a blue thread of magic emerged from Grim and connected to the golden thread. The two threads connected and formed a purple bowtie that had a familiar wallpaper design. It then phased itself through the pickle jar and wrapped itself around Grim's neck. A golden chain crackling with blue fire appeared between the two them, yanking Grim shattering the jar sending him hurtling towards Helena. On instinct, she caught causing the chains to wrap around them binding them in place. The blue fire erupted into fiery vortex enclosing the duo within.  The occupants in the room were shocked at this, a redhead with bags under his eye began to reach for his spell pen but was cut off by a youthful looking individual,

"Don't Rosenharts! The bonding process must not be interrupted!" Crowley jolted and spun towards the young looking man,

"What do you mean Mr. Vanrouge?"

"It's quite simple Headmage they're in the process of forming a familiar bond." Crowley tilted his head and stupidly asked,

"You mean he wasn't their familiar?"
