"Sister Cassandra! Can you read this book for us? Please?" A little boy and some other kids from a panti asuhan that Chastity volunteered at asked.
Chastity's small face smiled warmly at them, "Of course. Please sit down, all."
As soon as she said that, the kids started to gather around her, excited. You see, Chastity is very good at storytelling. It's an unexpected talent that she just discovered not too long ago.
The book is fairly small and thin, which makes sense since the target of audience is little kids under the age of ten. It is about a bunny and a snow ermine. Strangely enough, both characters seems to remind Chastity of her and Lust. Especially their color scheme, the bunny's fur being pink and the snow ermine's fur being white.
The snow ermine is very dignified and smart, but it is disliked by other animals because the snow ermine is always so strict and serious. While the bunny is playful and has many friends, a contrast to the snow ermine's personality.
One day, the bunny saw the snow ermine eating alone. The bunny knew the rumors about the snow ermine, but the bunny couldn't careless. All animals should have a friend, even it's just one! So, the bunny tried to befriend the snow ermine.
It's unexpectedly difficult to get the snow ermine to warm up to the bunny because the snow ermine is skeptical of the bunny. The bunny must want something from me, the snow ermine thought.
But after time to time, the snow ermine finally gave in and accepted the bunny's friendship proposal. It's a beautiful story of friendship.
The thing was, the story sounds a LOT like Chastity's and Lust's story. It was almost scary.
Speaking of Lust.... She became a fastfood restaurant manager a few months ago. It was a little funny seeing someone posted a video of her serving a mountain of food to her brother, Gluttony. They must have thought that he's a mukbanger, or something.
Chastity is actually glad she's on a good terms with the Sins now. Her rage towards them then didn't make any sense, now that she has the time to think about it. She's always been told that the Sins are the enemies–rivals, Chastity reminds herself–of the Virtues. But not why.
The war is over, She thought to herself. Thank the mighty stars the new rulers of the spirits are Kindness, her sister and Envy, her sister's rival. Her sister is sometimes (read: always) kind of naive, but at least one of them is pretty responsible, right?
Envy, trying to run away to the human world once again, sneezed. The history repeat itself, indeed.
It is now time for Chastity to go home. She abide her goodbye to the kids and head to the front porch. She's ready to call for an uber when suddenly a bright pink car beeps behind her.
Oh, it's Lust.
"Hey! Cassie! My cutie pie! My sunshine! The Yoo Joonghyuk to my Kim Dokja-" Her yells was cut off by Chastity's hand cupping over her mouth. Lust just licked it.
"Ew! You're disgusting!"
"Thank you for your compliment, Miss Clean Freak. Now get in the car, let's go shopping!"
"I'm not complimenting you nor am I a clean freak! I'm not shopping with you, either." Chastity huffed childishly after getting on beside the driver's seat. Lust gasped dramatically, feeling betrayed that her best friend did not want to spend the rest of the day with her.
"Aww, come on! I will treat you anything, I promise! Please?" She tried to seduce Chastity by pressing her body to Chastity's arm. Unfortunately for her, the blonde girl did not budged even a little bit. No one would call her innocent, but she prides herself as the most pure and untainted virtue spirit physically wise, after all.
"Why would I? If you can give me one reason about why I should accompany you, I will. Three chances. Go."
Lust just giggled. She can't help it, Chastity is just so cute sometimes. "Because you love me!"
The smaller figure raised her eyebrow, confused as to why her pink-haired roommate is laughing like a madwoman right now. But really, Lust is kind of crazy.
"Wrong. Two chances left."
"You're so mean to me. Hmph." Lust huffed. "Fine, I'll shop alone, then."
Wait, this isn't supposed to happen. They're supposed to bicker until they got home while Lust whine on the floor.
"W-wait! I changed my mind! I have nothing to do at home anyways.... But it's just because I'm bored, okay!?"
Lust's eyes sparkles and she smiled in excitement. It looks a little bit wicked, too. "Really!? Thank you, Chastity! Thank you!"
Fiddlestick, she has fallen right into Lust's trap. Willingly, a little voice in her head told her.
As she hops into the flashy car, she couldn't help but ask, "What do you want to buy, anyway? I don't think you ever bought anything important." Curiosity killed the cat, but roasting your roommate made it less obvious.
Lust doesn't seem to notice, or she noticed and just didn't care. She's used to this. Everyone is used to this.
"My favorite lingerie brand just released a new product, you see, so naturally I'm hunting it down," Lust staring at the road, glancing to Chastity once, twice, "But just in case you wouldn't want to wait, I bought you a coupon for HappyCat company's arcade."
Wow, Lust is being considering and uses her brain for once? It's not like she's a game maniac like her brother and his rival, but Chastity has a soft spot for small gestures like this. Maybe this is why they're friends.
"And we're arrived! You can go anywhere, but if one of us is hungry, let's meet up, okay?"
Chastity nods as Lust sprints to buy the lingerie, while Chastity enters the fresh vegetables and fruits section. She felt a two senior spirits aura heads towards her.
"Oh, Chas- Cassandra!"
Chastity recognized that voice, "Gent! You're shopping, too?"
"Yeah, Acedia had been a hussle since she tasted the dragon fruit juice I made, so here I am. I wanted to play some HappyCat arcade games later, you wanna join?"
Chastity nods, "I was just accompanying Lust, but she gave me a coupon, it would be a waste to not use it."
"Then, let's go!"
They did not try "some".
Diligence has always been competitive, even to his loving ones. But Chastity can't pick up his pace at this point, so now she just watches Diligence absolutely destroys strangers at a shooting game. Chastity's phone rings and picks it up.
"...Ah, okay. I met Gent, too. Yeah, we can meet there. See you." Chastity pats Diligence's shoulder, "Let's go eat, Lust want to meet up now."
Tch, where is her seat!?
"Oi, here!"
Chastity and Diligence sits down in front of Lust. They ordered, then Diligence made a mistake by making eye contact with Lust. "So... How did your relationship with Sloth now?"
A terrifying mistake, indeed.
